These are far better than any of the overpriced and often flimsy plastic gang valves. They work smoothly, don't leak, and you can clearly see by the position of each lever how much air is being fed to each attachment.

The only improvement would be adding a means to hang it on a tank. Almost perfect.

The construction is solid metal, and you can remove the black cap on the other side to either extend your tubing, or simply run to the other outlet on your air pump (assuming you have one)

The only gripe is with adjusting air delivery. Very fine adjustments are needed if you need certain amounts of air down a tube. This may take a little patience, if your adjusting a lot.

It would be nice if it had some kind of mount to attach it to things.

Our cat has 2 RFID chips in her. One for America and one for international. The cat door can't figure out what to do, so it defaults to locking her outside until we get home from work. We put it into "Training Mode" so she can come in and out, but it's not doing what it's supposed to do. Thinking about returning it for a refund.

Took me an hour to figure out the manual with all special info in the multi language instructions.

After I got it figured out, I set it to the first cat, then it died. Bought it for my Mom. Cut the hole in the wall. Should have check to see if it worked first. My bad. Mom had the cats chipped. Worked great with the first one. After I figured out where the program button was. The instructions are very vague. Don't think I'll be buying another one of these. Propably go manual controls next.

One more thing. I purchase the wall extensions and now I can't return them. First time this happened to me with Amazon. I'm disappointed.

I paid extra for this product because it claimed to work with vet-implanted RFID chips a nice feature since cats are famous for losing their colars. But the sensitivity to the new implants is so marginal that only by stuffing the cats into the entry and scrubbing them around for 10 or 20 seconds (like scrubbing the bottom of a glass wth a sponge) was recognition obtained. After much hissing, scratching, and bleeding (me) I managed to get recognition programmed but there was no way the cat was ever going to gain entry on its own.

The device works very well with the Cat Mate Electronic Collar ID Discs but I could have saved a $100 vet bill, bought a $50 cheaper model, and saved another $40 for two discs (supplied with the cheaper model but not with this one).

Programming is so non-intuitive that I've attached a storage pocket on the door above the device to keep the instructions handy and never misplace them.

On the up side, my two cats now have collar discs and thoroughly enjoy their new-found empowerment.

I purchased this air pump seeking a pump that would be able to power a large set of airstones at a depth of 3 feet. Many other pumps that I tried were not quite up to the task.

This pump is louder than a standard vibrator pump, but if you need a heavy duty device that pumps a lot of air, then this is the one.

Update: 8/18/2012 I'm sorry to report that the pump has failed after 8 months of service at a depth of 3 feet. Although the pump was loud, it was acceptable given the volume of air that it pumped when new. However, over time it got louder and then lost the ability to provide even a meager amount of air at a depth of 3 feet.

I have gone through several aquaruim air pumps in the last 3 years. The last one was a whisper 100 which was only about half the price of this one and lasted about 6 months. The whisper pump was really not any quieter than this one. This pump puts out alot of air and can be adjusted easily with the valves on the included manifold. It is not silent, but it is not realy loud either. If you want a silent pump, this is not for you. If you need good constant air it will deliver. I have had this pump for about 1 month now with no issues.

I read the reviews and I knew that this would not be "quiet", but I was not ready for how loud it truly is. Maybe it does a great job. Maybe it's better than diaphragm pumps...that's all well and good, but if you can't be within 30' of the tank because it's so loud, it is a waste. We put this in the tank cabinet and turned this on with the air valves off. The sound that came from the pump was the equivalent of a loud TV. There is no way to have a normal conversation in the same room as this pump when it was running. As a test, I turned it on, closed the cabinet, and made a call from my speaker phone that is about 10' from the tank, and the person on the other line asked me what the noise was without me prompting them. So, while this may very well be a solid product for what it is supposed to do, it is just too noisy to be practical in most situations.

Works really good, but it is VERY loud. You can make it run quieter by running a 3/8ths inch air line from the intake port on the pump to somewhere else. Preferably with cool air, as it runs quite hot.

Very well made and I knew it was loud, so I'm not going to knock any points off for that. It doesn't say anywhere on the box that it's a quiet pump, so there you go.

So glad I found this! I was looking for gravel for my betta tank and did not want to use the typical smaller size gravel since I felt like it would be more of a hassle to remove from the tank to clean. For a while, it seemed like I had to decide between small gravel and huge river rocks---until I saw this at Petco. I am so happy with the size and the color perfectly matches the plants in my tank. Looks so much cleaner than the color of other gravels.

These are crap they dont have the ring the others that come with the product do and the weave is so tight after just a day it's so clogged no water will flow through these cartridge filters. I'm Pretty sure we will have to buy another filter unit thanks to these s***ty filters. they have been nothing but a problem sice we got them.Do not waste your time or money buying these pieces of junk.

I had read the other reviews and purchased it assuming the change in design would not affect the performance of the filter element. At first I was happy and believed it was just as good as the original with the pressed ring built in. It's not, I now understand the purpose of that seemingly useless ring. The ring keeps the filter element material down off the suction hole in order to allow the entire filter element surface to filter. After installing this element my filter runs fine for a week or two and then degrades in performance until barely a dribble is coming out the spray head. Upon opening the filter the element is almost all white, except for one clogged circle where the pressed ring should be. I haven't found any of the original design so there is no option other than this design, but I solved the problem. I took a piece of pcv pipe a bit larger than the suction hole and drilled holes all the way around it as close together as I could in a ring pattern.Then I cut that ring off and inserted it as a spacer between the element and filter housing. It's maybe an 1/8th inch tall(maybe a little taller) so the holes are small but they opened up most the side of the ring still. It works great now, and the tank stays as clear as it used to.

I have a large (450 gal) freshwater African Cichlid tank. If you have a large tank it is much cheaper to buy aquarium water conditioners, medications, etc. made for ponds. The only difference it that the chemical is more concentrated so you end up using less/gallon.I generally use Pimafix if I see any visible damage and I use Melafix more often as a regular water treatment. I am pleased with the results.

2nd season had issues with flashing fish. I bought this... but I think if I had learned about salt before this the salt alone might have solved my issues. This messed up the growth of some of my water plants (but I was well warned before hand) so I can't blame the product.

This fulfilled all its promises. It arrived quickly. The box was fine, and the peat moss inside the box was exactly as advertised. The peat was not in granules, like many of the canister filter media peat, but loose and fluffy and dirt-like, exactly like the peat you'd use in a garden.

I got this because I was paranoid about using garden peat, and while this is a perfectly good product, it is so expensive (you get about enough to fill a quart or less), next time I will probably just skip it and use organic peat moss meant for gardening.

Now 3 months later...it is peeling off all over and has pockets of air bubbles in spots in the middle of it...how did it get in there?! It will not re-stick for some reason either. This was a bit taller than my tank, so I made sure to put the darkest blue section starting at the bottom and used a razor to trip the top excess off. I didn't want the background to be too brightly exposed. I used simple double-side tape all along the parameter of the back side of the tank to apply this with no ripples. Make sure to clean the glass well or otherwise dirt/prints will show up once the background is applied.

Advance Dog Training Pads

My cat was diagnosed with vestibular syndrome. Basically she couldn't keep her balance due to a disbalance in the inner ear. It can be caused from anything from an ear infection to a tumor to what most cases are: idiopathic. (In otherwords, no cause found.) Mostly happens to older dogs but sometimes cats. Luckily, she aced the other tests and ruled out anything major. Most idiopathic cases resolve in days to months.

The first week she couldn't co-ordinate herself to stand much less walk, so I used the Advance pads for her to lie upon while I was at work and couldn't help her to her litterbox. Since she couldn't do much but roll around to right herself I wasn't sure what to expect when I got home. I was very pleased that the pads are nice and big and quilted but was worried she'd still be dirty and ready for a bath.

These pads worked great.

They wicked the moisture away so well that she stayed dry and odor free even when laying directly on the pad. In fact, I could only tell there was pee in the pad when I picked it up and it was heavy (and no, it never ran from the pad even when I carried it by the corner). As for the poops, she'd sort of roll them up in it afterwards =)

She's doing really well and slowly getting better everyday. We still use the pads just in case.

During her rehab I ran out of Advance pads and bought Hartz on sale. Hartz might be ok for some uses but much smaller and not as thick. They didn't work for us. I ended up going back for the Advance.

I have used these for years and the really pick up the moisture. I prefer the ones that come wih blue pattern under the white because you can tell each time the pad is used.

Highly recommend. However, be awary what sid you are placing up as the back side is so good at not letting moisture through if it is up and not the paper side, the puddle will just sit there until you soak it up with paper towles.

An excellent product! My dog has to take medication for a heart condition and it causes him to produce excess urine. We have tried many different brands and types of pads and these pads are the only one's we have used that actually absorb and retain the urine without making a mess everywhere. I wish the quilted part of the pad extended to the edge of the liner on all four sides instead of two, but other than that, I haven't found a better pad.

Fluval Plant Stratum

This is my first real experience with having a planted tank, and so far (after about a month) the plants seem to be doing pretty well. I have water wisteria, java fern, and amazon swords. I haven't yet added fish in, as it's just at the last part of cycling. I'm planning on adding driftwood shortly, as apparently this substrate helps neutralise the tannins that would seep out and discolor the water.

I do not have a green thumb (at all, haha!), and so far I'm surprised none of my plants have melted or given me any trouble. I've even pruned some of the wisteria in half (twice) and it still seems to be doing well! I agree with the other reviews to wash the substrate well -even then, it took my tank almost 2 days to become perfectly clear. If I disturb the substrate now it'll be cloudy for an hour or two, but always becomes crystal clear afterwards. A filter definitely speeds up the process. Sometimes my plants become a bit dusty, but if I brush them any of the dust comes right off. The pH has been lower (in the 6-7 range), so if that's a major concern for you I would look at getting a different substrate.

Would I recommend it or use it again? Definitely!

I did read that you can use regular sterile potting soil or peat for aquatic plants, but as I haven't tried that yet this seems to be a good alternative. It says on the package not to mix different substrates (sand, gravel, etc) with this particular stratum, and as I haven't tried that either I can't say what will happen! In my non-scientific opinion, it would probably just look a bit funky.

Good luck with your own planted aquarium, and I hope you'll have as much fun as I have!

very good stuff, anything i put in my 8g fluval grows like crazy. i have seachem sand i also like, gravel plants do fine. but this stuff is great. its a lil hard to keep some plants down but once they root its off the the races. i am growing some HC with great results its pearling like crazy.

THis product does exactly what it says it does. It did have a lot of residue to wash out. I put running water through it in a collander several times and it still has black dust coming off of it. I take this as the nature of the product and not a defect. Make sure when you put it in your tank you do so at a low level close to the bottom and don't drop it from the top. It takes a good 24+ hours for the water to compleatly clear up and settle. I would recomment it for your stratum.

The pump was planned to use for a fish pond at a Daycare for children here. The fish pond worked hard "as they could" along with me and staff in building it in the playground next to a garden. It's small"(30gal) but the fish we put in it were selected by kids. They make it a point to be sure we feed them every day. However, I know that the pond is potentially too small to allow enough oxygen to circulate naturally for about 30 fish. As the fish grow I know it will become more and more difficult for them to possibly breathe under water. It would break those kids heart to see them die. I don't want them to whiteness that.

I received my pump very fast in good condition and installed it effortless. The reveal to the kids was a great joy and happy moment for both them and all of our staff. It brings great comfort to them to know that the fish can breathe a little easier in our pond.

My only concern is that it operates properly with the solar panel. I'm not sure if it works continuously "Switched in the ON" position while the battery is in it. Or does the sun keep that battery charged. It's great that there is a user manual inside the package about the product and how to use it.

I switched "ON", the solar pump start to work continuously, it hasn't stop in day time. Because there is power inside the battery, and also the sun can charge the battery while the pump working. The solar panel transfer the sun to power and charge the battery, and battery can store some power.

Even when the day turns to dark, the solar pump can work extra 1hours by the power from the battery. And it get be charged again in the next morning.

Cat Mate 4 Way Locking Cat Flap with Door Liner White

I installed this door into an interior door. While the instructions are a bit lacking, the door itself is solid and well designed. If installing on a door thicker than 1", it may be necessary to get different mounting screws than the ones included in the kit.

If there is one design flaw in the door, it is that the magnet keeping the door shut is good for an exterior door (to keep heat/cold in), but holds the door a bit tightly and occasionally catches the cat's foot in the door.

IMPORTANT! This is the product to use on interior doors and seals up to 2" thick. I installed on 1.5" thick interior door with no issues, no cutting the product, and a perfect installation.

I needed a small cat door to provide access to my laundry room for the cat's litter box. The most important qualities were that it was small enough to install in the bottom of a 6 panel Masonite interior door to keep the door looking nice, seal the interior cutaway, and be quiet since the laundry room is 2nd floor and in a shared hallway to our bedrooms. This product met all of my expectations.

* Just small enough to install in the bottom section of a 6 panel door, which it does, though it places to cat door a few inches lower than it really should, but keeps the door looking nice.

* Super easy installation thanks to the cutout template and the fact the two halves of the door do not have to align 100% on thicker doors as each half independently screws in with wood screws instead of some extremely long bolt that has to go fully through the door and align with the holes in each side

* As quiet as a magnetic door can probably be. I had a door in my last house that always made a loud snapping/clacking sound. This door is much, much quieter.

* Door is smoked so the cat can see through it instead of a solid white door. White would probably match your typical white door color better, but the smoked seems like a good design feature.

* Even includes little screw hole covers to finish the install cleanly.

I don't personally have a need for the locks, nor the weather seal on the exterior portion of the door. But it includes both of those features. If using on an exterior door I would personally caulk the top and side edges of the exterior cat door just to be certain no water gets in there.

For my personal use I ended up modifying the door to remove the magnet and weather stripping as it caused the door to be too difficult for my cat to learn to open, the weather stripping being the main cause of a stiff door. Without the weather stripping and magnet the door now swings totally effortlessly, and still weights down to shut after flapping back-and-forth a few times. Note the cat door also flaps open when you open and close your human door, too, which is a non-issue for me.

I needed to replace a broken cat door on my interior basement door; this time around I was looking for a proper liner, back panel, and 4-way lock. This model of the Cat Mate had all of the features I was looking for.

It took me an hour or two to get the opening re-cut to the new template (and it would have taken just minutes if I'd had the right coping saw), but once I got the door installed, it worked just right. The cat got used to it in a day or two (it's a bit stiffer than the old door, due to the magnet at the bottom of the flap), and I can easily adjust the latches at the bottom of the flap.

I installed it in an old style window with individual pains 7.5" x 9.5" by replacing one pain of glass with a small piece of 1/4" plywood and mounted the Cat Mate in that. Works great! The cats use a porch railing to access the windowsill from the outside.

I used to leave a back door or window open for the cats in the summer. But, that was a problem with the local raccoons and possums coming in. In 8 years not a single non-cat has used the Cat Mate. There have been a couple tomcats let themselves in. That is when the catch-a-cat locking setting is useful. The stray cat will never come back in after it discovers it can't go back out to flee the crazy guy with a broom. ~{:-) One such trapped cat hit the locked cat flap so hard it broke the plywood out of the window frame.

After 8 years of heavy use, it was looking pretty bad. So, I unscrewed to the old one and screwed in a new one, really simple. I got the brown one this time so it will not show the dirt quite as bad. Ready for another 8 years of cats bringing their treasures in to show me.

Now, if I could only teach the cats to wipe their feet...

I bought the large 10 oz tube to fill in some hollow decorations so I wouldn't need to worry about cleaning the interior surfaces. It has worked great for this purpose. It does have a strong vinegar smell to it, and the big tube requires a caulk gun to dispense it. Wear latex gloves when using to prevent getting any on your skin, but if you do I found that Clorox wipes remove it easily off of skin and surfaces. Water doesn't really cut it. If you do use this to fill decorations remember the decorations will FLOAT unless you put some weight inside. I used medium sized aquarium rocks that were clean.
