Best Quality Betta Bed Leaf Hammock / Size By Zoo Med Laboratories
Sooo, I got a whole bunch of these because they were on sale at my local Petsmart, and I put them here and there, and a lot of them about 1/2 cm from the surface of the waterline. This made a little multi-tier leafy land of green, and now, my betta just chills out when he wants to, on the leaves. =) He seems to like it there, and though he swims around then perches on one, then swims under them, over them, he also spends time just lounging about the leaves too. I think he really likes it. On the ones closer to the surface, he makes all these bubbles. He's got two bubble nests going at the moment, and it's a pretty cute bubble collection.
These leaves have a plastic-covered wire are bendable so you can get _just the right angle_! It's like your shoulder; it's a ball-and-socket joint basically. It doesn't fall off, and it rotates just fine, AND is pose-able because of the wire on the inside of the plastic. These leaves are also smooth so none of this snags the betta's beautiful fins; I tested this out with the string test (I do this with all of his toys). Plus these leaves are really easy to clean. I rinse them off, and use a Q-tip to clean the little suction cup dent that the leaf pops in to. If you're tryig to stick these above water, you should WET THE SUCTION CUP FIRST, so it has suction, CLEAN THE AREA you are going to put it to (only if it's above water), and then it will stick well. If your tank is a bit slimey or slippery due to algae, you should also clean a small area first so you can stick it on properly. Sometimes, if you buy these and leave them in the car, they become oddly formed. To fix this, just nuke ONLY THE RUBBERY PART in the microwave for about 2 seconds at a time till it becomes slightly soft; not mushy, just move-able. Then set these on glass face-down and let it cool to its correct shape. Also, look for when they are on clearance. I got them for $2.25 each on clearance and bought all of them that were being sold, because I super loved the first one I got.
These leaves are awesome, and allow me to just have a mat of really low maintenance plants (*morimo balls*), glass shrimp, little rock caves with dwarf baby tears growing on them, and then just these leaves here and there. I also have one snail. It's a super low maintenance tank this way, but these leaf hammocks allow for my betta to really use different levels within the water that it didn't really do much with before, and it adds a bit more color. =)I tried this out with a female betta and she couldn't care less about it. My male betta on the other hand LOVES it. I have better luck putting it in a dim area rather than bright part of the tank. Much better bet than the betta logs in my opinion. Pick up a few of these and you can create a swim through and rest area.

My kids love watching our Betta rest up on this hammock. It was our Christmas present for our family pet... lol! It takes a while to "train" your betta to use this, but prior to purchasing this, we noticed the Betta trying to find places to "lie down" on. This is perfect for its need.Read Best Reviews of Best Quality Betta Bed Leaf Hammock / Size By Zoo Med Laboratories Here
Who knew this was for real? I'm so excited when I see him laying on it. So glad I got this. Sometimes he just snuggles up to the suction cup and sometimes he lays on the leaf. It cleans easily and goes right where I put it. It even lets you bend up the leaf to get the perfect angle no matter if you have a straight, flat tank or a curved glass bowl. Love it!Want Best Quality Betta Bed Leaf Hammock / Size By Zoo Med Laboratories Discount?
I bought this because I noticed how often my betta would prop himself up within the foliage of his little fake aquarium plants. The thing is, he wouldn't rest there for long, because for bettas it's easiest to breathe near the surface. His plants weren't tall enough for that. No he uses this often, especially at night after the aquarium light timer goes off. I think it may be just a bit too bright up there for his preference when that's turned on. Most mornings, I get up and he's still perched there (light or not) and doesn't really get up and about until he sees large movement. It is pretty cool to see, and I like to think the fish is comfortable and content when using it. It's just right!Saturday, November 1, 2014
Zilla 11752 Fresh Air Screen Cover with Hinged Door, 10-Inch by 20-Inch
Buy Zilla 11752 Fresh Air Screen Cover with Hinged Door, 10-Inch by 20-Inch Now
I bought this for my brother's 10 gallon anole set up. I love that is has a locking door on the top, because opening the whole screen has allowed his anoles to escape in the past. The only complaint I have is that the door doesn't seal completely flush with the rest of the screen, so there were tiny openings that a very small animal could possibly get through. I think we may have had a small cricket escape that way. Otherwise it was a great investment.Read Best Reviews of Zilla 11752 Fresh Air Screen Cover with Hinged Door, 10-Inch by 20-Inch Here
Our gerbil population grew unexpectedly (eek seems those WEREN'T 2 males we brought home from the pet store!) and we needed to set up a second habitat. Pulled an old fish tank from our "pets of the past" stash, added this cover, and wired a water bottle off to one side through the mesh top. Great product!Want Zilla 11752 Fresh Air Screen Cover with Hinged Door, 10-Inch by 20-Inch Discount?
I bought this screen cover to use on a 10 gallon tank with a small snake. The hatch does not secure flush with the rest of the screen cover and can be easily pushed up to allow small animals such as snakes and geckos to escape. I would not recommend using this screen cover for any animal that can fit through small spaces.Monday, October 20, 2014

Deep Blue Professional ADB12909 In Tank UV Sterilizer for Aquarium, 9-watt
SECOND POST -The UV Sterilizer has been in my tank for over a month now and I am more than very pleased with the results. My water is crystal clear and I now have very happy saltwater fish!
Buy Deep Blue Professional ADB12909 In Tank UV Sterilizer for Aquarium, 9-watt Now
The first issue is that the box it comes in touts its fucntion as to kill algae and pathogens. No where on the box does it tell the buyer who Deep Blue is and where it is loctated. The instructions are non-existent. The only thing that comes with the instructions is warnings and disclaimers. The instructions consist of a childlike drawing of an aquarium with arrows with words above it which are illegible. The unit comes in two pieces and the fittings are cheap and fall apart. There is no way to determine if the unit is even working. The UV lamps are enclosed in a plastic unit and the only way to determine if the unit is working is to take it apart. Most higher level units will have a small hole to expose the lamps so the user can determine if the light is still on and working. The ciculation pump falls apart in two pieces and is so small it doesnt even produce a small ripple of water. Clearly, this does not move the water as advertised.I was interested in the unit merely because it was submersible and I would not have to alter the flow of my Fluval cannisters to meet he flow requirements of other UV products.
Save your money and buy a unit at your local fish store so you can determine if the unit is quality.
The seller Direct Line Superstore issued a refund without argument for which I am grateful.

Coralife 05476 Square Pin Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 96-Watt, 10K
My plants grown so well in it I liked these bulbs, delivered as advertised and in great shape.
I have an older lighting fixture and since purchasing them years ago they are still holding up, and looking good. They have dimmed a little but hardly noticeable.

I never saw whether this bulb worked. The first one arrived shattered. Cross-ship return. The second one arrived shattered. Cross-ship return. The third one didn't have any glass obviously broken, but the packaging was the same and the bulb never flickered or lit. Returned. At the end of the day, Petco actually had better pricing for an equivalent bulb and shipped in MUCH BETTER packaging. So...try the bulb, but be ready to return it if you hear glass rattling when it arrives.

Buy API Proper PH 8.2, 200-Gram Now
I have cichlids and I use a couple scoops of this when after I perform a partial water change. It keeps the water ph where it needs to be (higher than most tropical aquariums) and my fish are healthy.first of all the picture shows ph 7.5 so i was shaky about buying it because i need 8.2 but i did anyways because thats what the listing said it was and i did recieve ph 8.2 so don't worry about the picture it is ph8.2. anyways the delivery was standard and the product is ok i added it to my tank and not even 3 days later my ph was already dropping and when i purchased the product i was under the assumption that it would raise and "HOLD" my ph but did far from that! so bottom line i wouldn't buy again,it would cost a fortune to add this to my tank every three daysThursday, July 31, 2014

Zoo Med Laboratories AZMBL20 Betta Hammock
The reason of these methods is due to the function of the suction cup. The suction cup is designed for using the atmospheric pressure to push the cup towards the glass tightly, since the atmospheric pressure will be greater than the air in the cup, so a small bubble is required in the middle. If you set this item in the water without any air in the middle, the section cup will lose its function because when you press it in the water, the internal water pressure will almost equals to external water pressure, due to the properties of liquid, which is harder to be depressurised.
I hope this will explain the reason some people thought this item wont work. Moreover, Betta fish does also rest on it :)I bought this item almost as a joke, because seriously... a giant plastic leaf? My betta ignored it for three days and then flung himself on it. As I type, he's laying sprawled across it looking as deliriously happy as it's possible for a fish to look. Highly recommend.
Oh, and in reference to all the negative reviews stating that the leaf pops off -there must have been a redesign. My leaf stays put, and the suction cup seems to be working just fine as well (fingers crossed).
Buy Zoo Med Laboratories AZMBL20 Betta Hammock Now
so, i see many reviews of people saying that the leaf doesn't stay in the suction cup. my belief is that you're just not pushing it hard enough into the suction cup. it's not as easy as most people say it is or should be, i had to push it in very hard, but once you get the stem of the leaf into the hole of the suction cup, it appears to be just stuck in there. i doubt you would be able to take it out. i have it my 2.5 gallon tank for my betta, he loves it. he chills on it during the day when he's bored, and sleeps on it at night.the only thing i do not like it about it, is that there is a metal wire in the leaf, and if you bend it (or maybe even if you don't) the wire sticks out. it will eventually rust, plus it could cut your fish, so i bought some aquarium sealant (non-toxic to fish, $6 at petsmart) and covered the wire with it. i waited about 3 days for it to dry, and i put it back in. so, now it's safe, and my betta loves it. (: i've also heard you can take the wire out, and it's fine like that too.
i bought this leaf at petsmart about 2 months ago, and only for about $2.30, so it's cheaper. i think it's worth it, if you have the time to fiddle with it, and if you assemble it right. i say give it a try. (:
ALSO, if you put it in your tank and your betta doesn't seem interested, try feeding them over it over the course of a few days. it helps them realize to use it, but if s/he still doesn't use it, then s/he's just not interested. it does depend on your betta's personality, but at less than $3 at petsmart, i say it's not that much of a waste if your betta doesn't use it.

When I first put the leaf in my tank my Betta puffed his gills like he saw and intruder. After a few minutes he began to explore around it. It didn't take him very long at all to figure out what it's purpose was. The day after I bought it I looked at his tank and he liked it so much that he started to form his very first bubble nest right underneath it. I highly recommend the Betta Leaf Hammock. Other reviews say that the leaf fell out of the suction cup but I think they redesigned it because there isn't any way that the leaf can fall out of the one I received. Not only does my fish love it but I also got it 5 days before the expected delivery date.I was shopping at petsmart, and saw this leaf; I thought my Betta, El Jefe would like it. after two days of investigation, he decided to try it out, and now loves it! whenever I enter my room, 80% of the time El Jefe is watching the rest of the world from his little hammock. I havn't had any issues with the suction cup, or leaf falling off, so I think that there must have been a re-design somewhere along the way. If El Jefe could talk, he would tell you to buy this leaf, cause he likes it!Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Fluval C 100g/3.5-Ounce C-Nodes
It contains enough nodes for one application. 3.5 ozs is not much. Still you need them if you buy into the Fluval system.
This package contains enough nodes for one change. I've heard from comments not to change the media all at once.
My origional media has lasted over a year without any degradation. It's not an expensive item that needs to be replaced all the time so considering the small size of the package it's not a deal breaker.

Cat Dancer 601 Catnip Cat Dancer Interactive Cat Toy
Anyway, i knew it was a high chance that she might not like it, as many other commercial toys i bought for her didn't sparked her interest. Only aluminium foil balls and threads make her happy.
ps: if i would be the manufacturer, i would replace the plastic green mouse with something made from leather or something similar that the cat can grab with its claws. Our multi cat household is our biggest critic and they say, "Bring it on!" They love the Cat Dancer. We have several going at once for them and they love to leap up to try to catch it. Who would think that such a simple toy would bring so much excitement!
I did buy the Cat Dancer with the plastic cat nipped mouse on one end, and the cats paid no attention to it. Also, it was heavy and threw the whole toy off balance. A cloth mouse would have been a better choice. Great service.

The green plastic mouse make it too clumpy for the cats to play with. But it makes a good handle for you to hold on to as they play with the paper end.Read Best Reviews of Cat Dancer 601 Catnip Cat Dancer Interactive Cat Toy Here
My cat goes crazy for the cardboard end to the point that he seems unable to control himself when playing with it. He was actually so wrapped up in his play that he bit my finger hard when I tried to get it away from him to keep the play active obviously my fault, but he isn't like that with any other toys (even the much-loved Da Bird). He isn't really interested in the catnip cat, although sometimes when I keep the cardboard end hidden he'll bat at it or kick it. As far as I'm concerned, it's a glorified handle that makes my hands smell slightly like catnip.I'm giving this 4 stars the price is higher because of the catnip mouse, which is the least desirable feature (at least for my cat). Get a cat dancer for your cat, but be careful if your cat seems totally crazed by it. On the plus side, it seems fairly durable and is cheaper than many less exciting cat toys.

Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet
I had my old 1200gph pump connected to the tetra waterfall filter, that pump overheated and the shaft melted so it's now garbage.
In conclusion the cheapest part, the hose failed after less than 2 weeks and it will cost me a $120 pump, probably $50 in plants, and 600 gallons of water, I hope the fish don't die.
Beware.had it installed about 2 hours and the first 20' section burst............now I'm wondering about the other section, thank god I didn't bury it. this is not the product you want to use....now how do I get a refund for it.a worthless purchase, the cheap stuff from the lumberyard is more trustworthy........I expected more, this not the tubing you want to use
Buy Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet Now
I purchased this tubing expecting a far better result. Within a week it had burst causing my pond to go to seriously low levels. I was out of town and had to call my plumber to fix the problem only to find that the next day another major leak occurred. Do not buy this product! This tubing has caused me major set backs and now I have to redo all the pond plumbing.Read Best Reviews of Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet Here
They may claim this is 1 1/2" hose but not one of the 1 1/2" barb fittings I used would fit inside this hose. 1 1/4" barbs were too small and would have leaked. I didn't have time to return this dimensionallly incorrect product so I took my 1 1/2" barbs and ground them down with a belt sander until they fit. The product is "inexpensive" only if time and effort don't matter too you. I do NOT recommend this hose.Want Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 1/2 Inch x 20 Feet Discount?
Very thin walls and does NOT have a inside diameter of 1-1/2; more like 1-1/8 or 1-1/4. Furthermore, I would strongly suggest NOT burying this. I decided to just use it for very low pressure applications; mainly backwashing.Sunday, December 8, 2013
CaribSea Arag-Alive 20-Pound Special Grade Reef Sand, Fiji Pink
Usually when I get a new tank and I transfer my fish at least one doesn't make it. But I haven't lost a single fish! Now I don't know if it's because of this awesome sand, or what, but that's all I can think it is.
My fish LOVE to roll in it. I know that sounds weird, but they roll on their sides and rub up against the sand. They try to burrow holes in it and they never did that with the rocks I had before. (I have cichilds) They love this stuff!
Oh, and it says Fiji Pink. it is not actually pink, it is the tan color that is showed.
Buy CaribSea Arag-Alive 20-Pound Special Grade Reef Sand, Fiji Pink Now
I have bought this for both my Cichlid tanks, I have a 155 gl & a 55 gl. The fish are expensive so I wanted my tank to be perfect & this is the best way to go with sand. You just pour it in, no mixing & by the next day its not cloudy from pouring the sand in. I even added more sand recently because I used black sand & it looked too dark for me & the fish didn't seem to mind :)Read Best Reviews of CaribSea Arag-Alive 20-Pound Special Grade Reef Sand, Fiji Pink Here
