Best Quality Betta Bed Leaf Hammock / Size By Zoo Med Laboratories
Sooo, I got a whole bunch of these because they were on sale at my local Petsmart, and I put them here and there, and a lot of them about 1/2 cm from the surface of the waterline. This made a little multi-tier leafy land of green, and now, my betta just chills out when he wants to, on the leaves. =) He seems to like it there, and though he swims around then perches on one, then swims under them, over them, he also spends time just lounging about the leaves too. I think he really likes it. On the ones closer to the surface, he makes all these bubbles. He's got two bubble nests going at the moment, and it's a pretty cute bubble collection.
These leaves have a plastic-covered wire are bendable so you can get _just the right angle_! It's like your shoulder; it's a ball-and-socket joint basically. It doesn't fall off, and it rotates just fine, AND is pose-able because of the wire on the inside of the plastic. These leaves are also smooth so none of this snags the betta's beautiful fins; I tested this out with the string test (I do this with all of his toys). Plus these leaves are really easy to clean. I rinse them off, and use a Q-tip to clean the little suction cup dent that the leaf pops in to. If you're tryig to stick these above water, you should WET THE SUCTION CUP FIRST, so it has suction, CLEAN THE AREA you are going to put it to (only if it's above water), and then it will stick well. If your tank is a bit slimey or slippery due to algae, you should also clean a small area first so you can stick it on properly. Sometimes, if you buy these and leave them in the car, they become oddly formed. To fix this, just nuke ONLY THE RUBBERY PART in the microwave for about 2 seconds at a time till it becomes slightly soft; not mushy, just move-able. Then set these on glass face-down and let it cool to its correct shape. Also, look for when they are on clearance. I got them for $2.25 each on clearance and bought all of them that were being sold, because I super loved the first one I got.
These leaves are awesome, and allow me to just have a mat of really low maintenance plants (*morimo balls*), glass shrimp, little rock caves with dwarf baby tears growing on them, and then just these leaves here and there. I also have one snail. It's a super low maintenance tank this way, but these leaf hammocks allow for my betta to really use different levels within the water that it didn't really do much with before, and it adds a bit more color. =)I tried this out with a female betta and she couldn't care less about it. My male betta on the other hand LOVES it. I have better luck putting it in a dim area rather than bright part of the tank. Much better bet than the betta logs in my opinion. Pick up a few of these and you can create a swim through and rest area.

My kids love watching our Betta rest up on this hammock. It was our Christmas present for our family pet... lol! It takes a while to "train" your betta to use this, but prior to purchasing this, we noticed the Betta trying to find places to "lie down" on. This is perfect for its need.Read Best Reviews of Best Quality Betta Bed Leaf Hammock / Size By Zoo Med Laboratories Here
Who knew this was for real? I'm so excited when I see him laying on it. So glad I got this. Sometimes he just snuggles up to the suction cup and sometimes he lays on the leaf. It cleans easily and goes right where I put it. It even lets you bend up the leaf to get the perfect angle no matter if you have a straight, flat tank or a curved glass bowl. Love it!Want Best Quality Betta Bed Leaf Hammock / Size By Zoo Med Laboratories Discount?
I bought this because I noticed how often my betta would prop himself up within the foliage of his little fake aquarium plants. The thing is, he wouldn't rest there for long, because for bettas it's easiest to breathe near the surface. His plants weren't tall enough for that. No he uses this often, especially at night after the aquarium light timer goes off. I think it may be just a bit too bright up there for his preference when that's turned on. Most mornings, I get up and he's still perched there (light or not) and doesn't really get up and about until he sees large movement. It is pretty cool to see, and I like to think the fish is comfortable and content when using it. It's just right!Sunday, October 5, 2014
Penn-Plax® Tank Dividers® for Aquariums
P.S. Of less importance, but I thought I should note it anyways: The plastic tracks that come with this divider are aqua blue and really don't do anything for the look of your aquarium unless you already happened to have an aqua blue color scheme going on. If you're looking for something that will blend in with your tank decor, this won't. It would have looked so much better if the tracks were black or white... it would also have helped if the mesh itself was opaque black instead of clear but I digress...
Buy Penn-Plax® Tank Dividers® for Aquariums Now
the divider works well.. though i replaced the see through plastic with some plastic canvas from an arts and craft store, two layers prevents the bettas i have from seeing each other and getting aggravated. i also used some aquarium safe silicone glue because i couldnt be bothered with the clips that came with it... but works well holding it all together. and if you have fish that dont get aggravated the plastic that comes with it looks to work fine and fit wellRead Best Reviews of Penn-Plax® Tank Dividers® for Aquariums Here
I used this in a 15 gallon tank for moderate tempered bettas and zebra danios (nippy to each other, but mostly would chase). It does a great job of keeping the fish separated, but I found that over the top filtration wasn't quite strong enough to pull waste from the far side of the tank with the tiny, tiny holes. Solution: drill larger holes at the top and bottom, sand the new holes only (those areas will cloud a bit) and rinse. Viola! It works!Everybody is happy and safe in the tank now!
I wish they didn't use that god awful blue for the edges, and that the clips didn't get in the way of the hood, but at least my little guys & girls are comfortable.I got this for my pair of whiskered pleco's , wored great, only drawback is that I had to lower the water level about an inch, I wish it were about 2 inches taller. Other then that, I have used it several times, and I have a lot of babies to show for having it. Other fish in aqua will eat the eggs, and this helped .

CareFresh FreshSorb Natural Bedding & Litter - 6 liters
Buy CareFresh FreshSorb Natural Bedding & Litter - 6 liters Now
I haven't found Carefresh to be any harder than any other paper litter material and it's certainly softer than wood shavings (which are, of course, bad for the health of any small animal, anyway). It breaks apart easily, and it's very absorbent. Now, I don't use it for bedding material (I use soft cloth dog crate pads for that); rather, I use it for my rabbits' litter boxes. And it's great for them. It absorbs the odor from their urine very well, it's soft on their feet, and it actually encourages them to use their boxes instead of their bedding for urination.Read Best Reviews of CareFresh FreshSorb Natural Bedding & Litter - 6 liters Here
This stuff might be okay for use in small amounts in litterboxes, but I absolutely would not recommend it for use in the pan of any small animal cage. The manufacturer says it's soft, but it's as hard as a rock and about as absorbant as one. There are so many better products available, so don't waste your money on this. I know I'll never buy this product again.Want CareFresh FreshSorb Natural Bedding & Litter - 6 liters Discount?

The water temperature was definitely controlled, but after less than three months, the internal rattling sounds became unbearable. I will replace with a different type of fan.Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med Aqua Cool Aquarium Cooling Fan Here
I have a nano reef tank and this is the first summer it was set up. The water temp was going over 82+F even when the house temp was 75FI bought this and it works great. It is quiet and cools the tank to mid to low 70's even when house temp is now 79F. I have it on a multiple setting timer and it turns on and off throughout the day. This way I can keep the temp consistently around 75F
Awesome product and great price compared to a chiller! This is a great buy. I bought this for my saltwater 20g set up to bring the temp down after installing a power head which raised the temp several degrees. Within the first hour after installation, this fan brought the temp down a full degree!! Quiet, efficient and cost effective I strongly recommend this fan. This uses evaporative cooling to bring the temp down so be prepared to add water to your tank on a semi regular basis. No complaints about the product, does just as described and I saved over $12 buying this on Amazon vs my LFS. After two 48 hrs this fan brought the temp down a full 5.2 degrees in my tank. My fish seem much more comfortable and I'm not as nervous about stressing them out due to water temp being too high. Now, if only I could get my snowflake eel to leave my blenny alone. :) super fast shipping too would do business again with this seller!!

AQUARIUS AQ0080 Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph flow rate
The only hiccup is that the filter cartridges for this model are not sold anywhere, but Tetra's small Bio-bag filter cartridges work just fine. Still, this hiccup doesn't affect my satisfaction of this little filter.

This is a very good filter, but it has a short life, at least for me. My second Mini Might Filter just crapped out on me. Don't know if it's something I'm doing, or it's just a bad product, because it is a good filter. I've had this one for a bit more than a month, and it's having the same problem as my last filter. It makes this awful Darth-Vader sucking noise. That's the best way to describe it. Still seems to filter, but that terrible noise! I feel so bad for my fish to have to endure that :( All the other filters I have seen have been huge, I want a tiny filter, but this one isn't working!Read Best Reviews of AQUARIUS AQ0080 Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph flow rate Here
I've had this for a long time. It filters very well for a little one, and is so tiny, it hardly takes up any space. The odd sucking noise is not the filters fault, it happens with any filter that is exposed above air. To rid any filter of that noise, stick it under the water, like it should be.Want AQUARIUS AQ0080 Aquarium Mini Internal Filter 45gph flow rate Discount?
this filter is very quiet unlike other filters I have and the only bad thing is the cartridges you have to buy tetra mini cartridges its own company does not make them but always keeps water crystal clearSaturday, May 3, 2014
Aqueon Mini Bow 5 Desktop Aquarium Kit
In mine, I've got 4 zebra danios and 2 African dwarf frogs. All seem to be quite happy and healthy. I divided the space up with rocks, driftwood and plants. It looks really nice, while giving the frogs places to hide and burrow, and the fish a lot to explore.
The filter isn't very powerful, but from what I understand, you don't want anything too strong for the species that do best in small tanks (dwarf frogs, bettas, etc.).
To maintain, I just replace 2 gallons of water once each week, and rinse out the filter. I don't understand the complaints here about not being able to find replacement filters--I just ordered a set of 3 from Amazon for about $5. They do get gunky pretty fast, so I plan on replacing them monthly.
Somebody else mentioned that the light bulb burnt out in less than a month. Mine's still going, but I only keep it on for about 12 hours a day. When it does burn out I'll probably replace it with a compact florescent anyway. Less heat than an incandescent, brighter colors, and longer life.
I did have to buy a $15 heater, but that's species dependent. For the most part, I think this is a great starter kit. I got it for my son's room. He likes looking at the fish and frogs, and it's pretty easy for me to maintain, so I'm happy with it.I bought this tank to be used as a segregation tank for my new or ill fish.
I have a 45 gallon tank that houses freshwater fish. When I buy new fish, I like to segregate them and treat them automatically for illness before I put them in with my other fish. I have learned the hard way, that it is much easier to do this than treat my large tank and all the fish when just one is ill.
It has everything I wanted, (filter, light, and small size), except I did want a heater as well. (Better for treating ill fish. Truthfully, I don't know any kits that actually include the heater...) I had a small heater left over from a previous tank and use that. Otherwise, I would have bought one that actually fits the Mini Bow. It's size makes it very easy to clean. I don't keep my fish in there long term, but for my purposes...it is GREAT!
It is a perfect starter tank for kids, too. They can try the whole fish thing without overcommitting to a bigger tank that an adult would HAVE to clean for safety sake.
THE FILTERS CAN BE ORDERED on . My local fish store and our petsmart also only carry the medium and larger filters. My local store is trying to supply the small ones, but for now, I am fine ordering them online.

I have 2 of these tanks a 5gal and 2gal. I have had these tanks for YEARS. They have not been running for the 5 years I have had them but I have used them for betta fish, plants, breeding shrimp, raising Fry, and hospital tank. It's been my back up tank. Right now I have it set up for breeding Bee shrimp. I have since switched the filter and added a heater. I love the light hood never had a problem. I use a 13watt CF light and it works great and the plants love it.So my main problem with this tank is quality. It's not a quality acrylic tank. The bow front distorts viewing. It's hard to clean off alge because you don't want to scratch the plastic. Also the small bow shape makes it a bit tricky to clean with a magnet cleaner. I put an old sock on my hand and used that to clean it. I like the size of this tank but I am looking for another tank it's time to replace it.
Nice for the price don't expect much it scratches real easy. Great little starter tank for betta fish or kids room I have been keeping fish for 13 years I have 5 tanks up and running ranging in 100gal 5gal.

these are cute little tanks to keep a small goldfish or two in and I like not having a huge bulky tank that i have to dissemble every time I move or have to clean itNice tank for small fish. Filter works fine if the tank inst overcrowded/ no overfeeding. Using mine for guppy fry until they are big enough to return to main tank. Filter cartridges are cheap and easy to replace. Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Sponge Filter, 4-1/2-Inch
Likes:
Functional
-clean water
-healthy pets
Dislikes:
Not as efficient as other sponge filters
Bottom Line:
For top efficiency in a sponge filter (if this is, of course, the type of filer you want; other filter options are always on the table) I would probably choose a different brand. For the price, it is hard to complain. It is solidly built. It has enough weight to stay in place. yes it is large, but I like that about it. I bought a couple of these. I have used them in 10-55 gal tanks. In the smaller tank they are used with my fry so they have a place to hid and so they don't get sucked into the filter. I would have given 5 stars if the was a way to add an airstone to better aerate the bubbles. If you have a small tank and no top you may get some water mist splashing out. If you have a lid no problems. I'll buy again. Don't clean under tap water though. Nothing that will harm the filter, but the chlorinated water will kill the helpful bacteria that form in the sponge media. Clean the filter out in a bucket of tank water when you do a water change.

I had one of these running in my sump for a couple months. When it was time to set up a nursery tank for the fry, I just moved the sponge to the new tank, and the tank was instantly cycled. They're also great with battery operated air pumps during power outages.Read Best Reviews of Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Sponge Filter, 4-1/2-Inch Here
The price was right and still working great, it is easy to clean and I would buy again. The only issue is not sure how you would put an airstone on this product to make smaller bubbles for less agitation, but I can work with it.Want Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Biochemical Sponge Filter, 4-1/2-Inch Discount?
I'm using one of these in a 55 gallon tank as a prefilter on a canister filter. Like another review has said, it does not seem to be quite as well-built as the Filter-Max pre-filters, but it's good enough. There is a large round weight on the bottom that helps to keep it in place in the tank.
Pay attention to the size: This is big enough to completely fill one corner of a 20 gallon tank. If your fish are already a little cramped, get a smaller filter.

Buy Hagen LED Bulb for Fluval Edge I Now
Bright and clean light.OEM Hagen part no knock offs here.
Arrived with standard Amazon care.
I'll get them again if I need more lights. These bulbs are everything they claim to be.They are bright and definitely waterproof. I have purchased cheaper bulbs at half the cost, but had to replace them in less than 2 months as they are not waterproof, and individual leds burned out, and the light became dimmer. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is true. Highly recommend.I had previously purchased other LED's for my Fluval, but was always weary of the fact that they were not the Fluval brand. So I was very excited when Fluval finally decided to release their own LED's. I feel that Fluval's lights match the light quality of the others I had previously purchased and are much safer as they have a thin covering, protecting the lights from water damage.

Green Killing Machine Internal 9 Watt UV Sterilizer with Power Head
At 4 weeks or so the control box red light went out which should indicate the UV lamp needed replacing. That's terrible but I wondered if that might not be just a defective light, etc. I just went ahead and purchased a new lamp, figured I'd use it in the long run regardless, however the control box indicator light is still out so that's not it, apparently the 'control box' has failed. I'm attempting to get warranty service from the manufacturer because I'm over the 30 day return policy.I took a chance on a relatively new vendor and I'm glad I did. Hats off to the Umbrella Group. Everything went smoothly and the product was delivered in good shape and on time.
I'm very pleased with the unit. I needed a UV filter for a smaller tank with a hanging filter (so an in-line wouldn't work) and was very happy to find this at a great price. It's whisper-quiet and includes a power head for great circulation.
Two small words to the wise:
1) The product is a snap to set up if you're a little mechanically inclined because the instructions that come with it leave something to be desired. The illustrations are microscopic and the text says to see illustrations that don't exist.
2) Make sure you look at ALL the photos before you decide to put this in a smaller tank (20 g or less). It takes up more room than the main picture might lead you to believe but is rated up to 50g.
With that said, I would heartily recommend this to anyone who's ever dealt with an algae bloom (or anyone who doesn't want to).

I got this smaller 9 watt version for a 125 gallon tank, just to see if it will work. Turns out it work so good, I didn't need to buy 2 after all! No my tank isn't lightly stock either, it's overstocked with Koi's and Goldfish! You already know how dirty those fellas get. Anyway, Best money ever spent for a aquarium, worth every cent! Worked better than advertised! Tank began to clear up within 3 hours, mind you this a HUGE 125 Gallon tank! The next day, water was crystal clear! I mean you can see from one end of the 6 foot tank to the other end and the other side of that glass! AMAZING! That's >6 feet of pure visibility as if there's no water! I got 4 bubble/aeration in my tank, and the streams of bubbles coming out looks like sparkling diamonds and has an awesome effect that i never notice was there! You don't need 2 of these! Just buy one and have a good day! This is how incredible the 9watt is, just imagine how powerful the 24 watt would be. Fish is happy, i'm happy, all is good."
Other facts: Plug and play, doesn't make a sound, looks difficult to set up but isn't. The water flow is slow, suppose to be that way for max "killing" power and efficiency. Doesn't shock me like the other products have. Built solid, no signs of electrical leakage or water leakage anywhere. Mount the control box on the OUTSIDE of tank. Instruction manual does leave out a lot of info, but who's really an idiot anyway? If you can keep fish alive, let alone Kois, you're not the average Joe Schmoe that needs step by step guidance anyway. Seriously!!

Two of my kids tanks turned green while we were away on vacation. I think our neighbors overfed the fish. Anyway, after chasing the algae blooms on the 5 and 10 gallon tanks without success (repeated cleanings and water changes), I purchased the Green Killing Machine. After 48 hours in the pea-soup green 10 gallon tank, the water was noticeably cleaner. After 72 hours, the water was crystal clear. Then I transferred the unit to the 5 gallon tank. After 48 hours, it too is crystal clear. If you have an algae bloom, this is your ticket.
Want Green Killing Machine Internal 9 Watt UV Sterilizer with Power Head Discount?
The Green Killing Machine 9 watt worked wonderfully for the first three months I owned it. Water was crystal clear, and even if the submersible part of the unit was big and bulky it was worth disguising to have such a trouble free aquarium. Then, despite weekly routine cleaning and maintenance as suggested per the manual, the charging unit stopped working. Only it didn't just short out. It fried itself and burned so hot that it melted through the plastic housing before I caught it. I don't know if and when the little red light went out; it's simply not something most people check on a daily basis. What I do know is that the problem could have been seriously compounded had the unit continued to smoulder.
Based on the potential for danger and the fact the unit eventually stopped functioning beyond repair, I can't recommend it at all.

Lee's Ultimate GravelVac Cleaning Claw
Buy Lee's Ultimate GravelVac Cleaning Claw Now
I've always used a nylon stocking to cover the intake of my Python brand gravel vacuum/water changer when I wasn't using it to vacuum and wanted to keep fish from getting sucked in while changing the water. The nylon is drippy after, and it doesn't look professional (I clean tanks.) While this Lee's Cleaning Claw doesn't keep small fry from getting in like the nylon stocking, it does keep regular fish from getting in and looks more professional. It also aerates the returning water a bit more when refilling the tank.As a gravel cleaning attachment, I don't get good results with either a deep bed of Flourish or a thin bed of regular gravel, so I continue to use the tube uncovered. However, I could see that it would be a good implement for poking around the deep recesses of a heavily-planted aquarium to just get the mulm on the surface of the substrate without accidentally sucking up an unseen fish.

Beautiful in the tank! Has great color and looks amazing! It was much larger than I expected to get! It completely hides where the filter is with no problem! One of the prettiest artificial plants I have ever bought. It has a graceful bend in the water, very similar to the photo. Very full and lushious looking. The base is tan and heavy so holds this large plant in place. At a generous 24 in tall, it looks great in my 75gal tank. The leaf color is light green which look really nice against a blue or black backdrop.
I have found that i like plastic better than silk while silk plants look nice to start with, they start to get discolored and start to fray after about 5 mths. Living plants are more work and take time to get this big. So I'm sticking with easy inexpensive artificial plants.
very happy with this, going to buy more!
