I got this divider for my 10 gallon long fish tank that I was going to use for two male bettas, but then decided to divide into three for three male bettas. I had only ordered one from Amazon, which arrived very quickly. Thus, I had to go to a pet store out of town to pick up the SAME THING, because I didn't want to divide into two, then go in and redo it all to divide into three (call me lazy). The dividers were the made by the same manufacturer, the Amazon version was less expensive, but I have to say... The one I got on Amazon is MUCH less flimsy (and I even broke the stabilizer on top on the Amazon one!) and doesn't need to be held up by tank decor at all. The one from the pet store? It has gravel holding it up, rocks, and driftwood supporting it. They were cut to the same size, and had the same general "pieces," but the Amazon by far outshines the other. I have nothing but rave reviews about this. Beyond that, the stabilizer on the Amazon version is a little taller that the one from the LFS something I learned after the fact with horrible results (one of the males jumped over to the other side and fought with the other while I was at work. Definitely would buy again!t

I bought this divider to divide my ten gallon so I could house two male bettas. Now, this divider might work well for other fish, but it is not suited at all for bettas. The mesh screen that comes with this divider is crystal clear and bettas can see straight through it. Before buying this product I had read reviews that this kind of divider is OK because bettas will just flare at each other for a few days, get used to seeing each other and then live peaceably; however, from my experience, the stress this divider creates for bettas is really, REALLY not worth it. I started with two happy bettas and after using this screen for about 4 days I now have two bettas that have stress-induced fin tears. I tested my tank water and there's nothing wrong with it, the problem is that this divider just stressed them out too much. I even tried to prevent my bettas from seeing each other by putting plants next to the screen and replacing the clear screen with plastic canvas but it was no use, they would just swim in and around the plants and flare at each other and they can see through plastic canvas. I finally took one of the bettas out today and put him in a fish bowl and I can only hope that their fins will regrow, but I really would not recommend this divider for betta owners. I will say that the divider itself worked well at keeping the fish apart, it stayed up straight and they didn't jump over the top so I think that if you used this with other sorts of fish it would probably be okay, but just not with two bettas. Now I find myself with two sick fish and out about 10 bucks from buying this divider and I still have to buy another filter and heater to set up my second betta. BETTA OWNERS: Save your money and just buy another tank!

P.S. Of less importance, but I thought I should note it anyways: The plastic tracks that come with this divider are aqua blue and really don't do anything for the look of your aquarium unless you already happened to have an aqua blue color scheme going on. If you're looking for something that will blend in with your tank decor, this won't. It would have looked so much better if the tracks were black or white... it would also have helped if the mesh itself was opaque black instead of clear but I digress...

the divider works well.. though i replaced the see through plastic with some plastic canvas from an arts and craft store, two layers prevents the bettas i have from seeing each other and getting aggravated. i also used some aquarium safe silicone glue because i couldnt be bothered with the clips that came with it... but works well holding it all together. and if you have fish that dont get aggravated the plastic that comes with it looks to work fine and fit well

I used this in a 15 gallon tank for moderate tempered bettas and zebra danios (nippy to each other, but mostly would chase). It does a great job of keeping the fish separated, but I found that over the top filtration wasn't quite strong enough to pull waste from the far side of the tank with the tiny, tiny holes. Solution: drill larger holes at the top and bottom, sand the new holes only (those areas will cloud a bit) and rinse. Viola! It works!

Everybody is happy and safe in the tank now!

I wish they didn't use that god awful blue for the edges, and that the clips didn't get in the way of the hood, but at least my little guys & girls are comfortable.

I got this for my pair of whiskered pleco's , wored great, only drawback is that I had to lower the water level about an inch, I wish it were about 2 inches taller. Other then that, I have used it several times, and I have a lot of babies to show for having it. Other fish in aqua will eat the eggs, and this helped .

New Life Spectrum Thera A Large Fish - 600 g

The fish eat it. I dont know if it is better then other food, but my angel fish and parrot fish attack the pellets with a vengeance.

I have been feeding my fish with these for a while now and the Thera-A is my favorite formula for staple feeding. I have been using the 1mm size for most of my fish (even though their small the fish find them easily enough), and was happy to see that they came out with a medium, large, and jumbo pellet for my larger fish. My fish relish these pellets and the fact that they have an extra ingredient allicin(more garlic!!)that helps with their immunity and fights parasites is a real bonus. I think it really helped when i started my clown loach colony, as it seems everytime I introduced a new clown loach they would ALL get ich again! That was when NLS was new and since feeding them the thera-a they never had problems with ich with newcomers, as well as no problems with wasting syndrome. NLS is one of if not the best fish food for all fish on the market today and contains some of the best ingredients. They do as they state, keep my fish happy and healthy. This formula has the perfect protein content to me not too high and not too low. Too high protein seems to shorten the lifespan of fish and too low seems to hurt their growth potential. The Thera-a is right in the middle in terms of protein compared to other formulas. I would recomend this product as well as any other product produced by NLS to anybody who really cares for their fish. It may cost a little more than cheaper brands but it is the best. Now they have to make a floating formula for the Thera-a so I can mix some floating with sinking for all my fish!

Penn-Plax® Aquarium Plant Anchors, 12pk

These lead plant anchors do work. Our aquarium has large, natural colored river pebbles, so we can't really get the roots covered adequately enough to weight the plants down with them. We have freshwater anacharis plants. We were using plastic tie wraps to hold the anacharis strands together, and then stuck the bunch into the pebbles, but some strands would break off and leave a gap in the bunch. This would allow the rest of the bunch to float up and out of the tie wrap. Now they just do the same thing with the lead wrap weights, but I notice that at least it does take longer for the bunch to break loose and float to the top in loose strands. I think this is because you can wrap the lead ties a little tighter and cover a little more of the strand base by spiraling the tie up as you wrap. Oh well, it's better than the plastic tie wrap method. I gave one star off because they don't completely hold the bunch down forever, but I haven't found what will yet.

These lead strips are the same as the ones that come with many of the live aquatic plants I've purchased from my local fish store. They wrap easily around the stems of hard to contain plants, and help to keep them from floating all over my fish tank.

I've used them quite a few times to group a bunch of cuttings together after pruning some of my fast growing plants (particularly 'rotala', which roots very quickly), and then have brand new plants to help fill up my freshwater tropical aquarium.

I have a 3/3.5 gallon aquarium for my two little African Dwarf Frogs. They love plants to hide in, but the plants kept coming up when I was changing the water (they are growing so I'm doing frequent water change to get rid of some of the crap.) These frogs are very timid and freakout when I change their water or put my hand in there. So I wanted to give them back there beloved hiding spots while at the same time causing them the least amount of stress.

If I tied together a few of the small viney plants with a few of the weights (which are just strips of lead and kind of remind me of ties you use for bread), they would hold down. Even when I sucked water away with my siphon or put water down. The frogs are oblivious to the ties. However, I had a hard time use these for single tiny plants. They tend to make the plant shorter when you are putting it on....lost one plant that way. So far only plant single plant has come back up. I guess it is helping with the problem, but not sure how it will do long term.

These anchors are ok, but I have to use several to hold down one artificial plant. They don't work with my live plants--for some reason I can't get the live ones to stay on. These anchors do work, you just need to use at least a few on each plant.

These work as expected and hold the plants down in the tank. My only concern was for the health of the fish but it doesnt' seem to effect them at all.

Let me first say, that as a conditioning spray, it's wonderful. But it smells NOTHING LIKE a vanilla cookie. I read the previous reviews and I coated my goldendoodle with it, and blowed him dry.They said the smell gets better when it's dry. But as they had warned, it had a strong alcohol smell and instead of smelling like a vanilla cookie, it smelled like cheap children's vanilla cologne.

The spray that PetSmart uses actually smells like sugar cookies and lasts for at least a month. My dog smells like a child has doused him with cheap cologne. He's incredibly soft and awesome feeling, he just stinks to high Heaven.

I've used another product that I can no longer find that smelled exactly like vanilla cookie..and lasted long as well..as soon as I sprayed "Nootie" on my dog I got a strong smell of alcohol..and a faint smell of vanilla..it does smell better once it dries,..i just avoid getting it on my hands.

It looks like it would hang on the side of the tank, but its way to small.

The gap is almost gone after you add the hose to it, and even without the hose

it will not hang on the tank. I cant see any way to use this other then just putting the hose on and

dropping it in the water. :(

This stuff works great! I set up my tank two months ago, poured the correct dosage for colony in and added 7 fish a few hours later. Got 2 electric blue rams the next day and added a little more for a boost and its 2 months later and all my fish are happy and healthy along with my water parameters! I was not impressed with this scraper. It kind of works, but the quality control must have missed mine. The foam section is almost an inch off on one side it looks like it slid partway off during the gluing process. Also, the blue, rougher side is already shedding (I have only been using it for a week). I would skip this product.

Marineland PA0140 Magnum Micron Cartridge, 1-Pack

I have a Marineland 250 Mag Filter that I move from tank to tank for polishing at cleaning time. Having extra Micron inserts is very important to speed my cleaning after meals..... This works great....

This is part (the filter part) of the larger HOT (hang over tank) cannister filter by Marineland. This unit pulls the fine particles out of the water MUCH better than standard power filters. This sleeve needs to be rinsed off fairly frequently. Not for everyday use, the blue sleeve that comes with the power filter is for that. You have to have the Marine HOT power filter in order to use this filter. This setup is for polishing the water when your tank needs a little pick-me-up water clarity. Makes the tank crystal clear!(I am talking about the whole unit, power cannister that this filter fits into).

The fish look like they are suspended in air the water is so clean. Couple of drawbacks though, the unit is somewhat noisy and bulky. Will not fit just anywhere. Be SURE to FILL IT UP COMPLETELY before you turn it on. Also, this blows the water out of the tube pretty quickly and this cannister is NOT for small aquariums. If you use it on anything smaller than a 30-40 gallon, be prepared for the water to slam your little fish all over your tank. WONDERFUL for larger tanks!

This is a great product. However, it does require frequent cleaning with bleach and water solution. The instructions for this come with the product. It really gets all the fine particles out of your water. It leaves my tank sparkling clear.

There are only two filters that can polish water the Diatom by Vortex and The Magnum 350 by Marineland.

With both filters it's important to note that neither provide bacterial filtration and should not be used on a regular or permanent basis.

These filters work best when used as a part of your aquarium maintenance regime. Or when you simply want your tanks water to look perfectly clear.

I've used a Diatom Filter for 35 years they haven't changed since 1972. They're a bit cumbersome to set up and break down but the results are incredible. The Diatom can filter out particles, pathogens and parasites down to one micron in size. It's the only filter on the planet that can actually filter out ich.

The Magnum which can convert from a standard mechanical canister filter to a water polisher by using these Micro Marineland polishing canisters. However they're limited to filtering out down to 15 microns 10 micron can be seen with the naked eye. You'll get "some" polishing effect but not crystal clear clarity.

The Diatom Filters use diatomaceous earth or DE as a media Marinlands Magnum uses an ultra fine 200 micron mesh.

A Diatom is a fossilized micro organism from millions of years ago. These tiny fossils are pulverized into an extremely fine powder.

When the powder attaches itself to the filter bag of the Diatim it coats it with such a fine strain that any particulate matter down to one micron in size is removed. This is why water that has been filtered with DE looks so amazingly crystal clear and pristine.

In fact, if you turn off your aeration it looks exactly like your fish are suspended in mid air. The water is that crystal clear.

DE can remove algae blooms, murky water and hazy water from new tank syndrome all in a few hours.

These cartridges can't really compete as far as the end results but for those who are looking for something easier the Magnum may be just the ticket but again, the results won't be near as dramatic.

You can recharge the cartridges using a 2 to 1 bleach solution just make sure you rinse it well after and then soak it water treated with a product like Prime.

These are an easy to use alternative to the more complicated and cumbersom to use Diatom by Vortex Filters. However, the Diatom filter build quality trumps the flimsy Magnum 350.

The pieces were small to medium to big sizes which is good. The stone itself had good shape as well.

In all the pictures shown seiryu stones look much darker than the pieces i got. This is one of the reason why i order them because i have black substrate. The pieces i got mostly are light colored more like yellowish and some even have white in it. But over all it was nowhere close to grey/dark grey shown in pictures. I had to use them because i was setting up my aquarium. Ended up using only 3 pieces and went with driftwood.

Wonderful product! I couldn't find another one like it. It's small enough for my one gallon fish bowl. I have a single betta fish in the bowl. 1st it saves me time because now the fish bowl is lower maintence and i don't have to clean it near as often. And 2nd it keeps my fish healthier because it's keeping the water cleaner and constantly cycling it.

I use this for a 1 gallon shrimp tank and a 1.5 gallon fry tank and it seems to do the job. Needs to be replaced every two weeks though, as it gets dirty quick, which maybe me over feeding but overall it aerates and cleans these small tanks. Would have given it a 5-star rating, but the prickly plant won't stay in the base properly so I just jam the plant in a coral instead.

If you are looking for an UGF for a one gallon fish bowl look no further. What can I say plug in your air line and it works great. If you are using a layer of soil for substrait I would refrain however. The filering action will help leach the tannin in to the water giving it the look of tea.

Small World® Filter Units & Replacement Cartridges for Small Tanks

I first discovered these a few years ago when I got a 19-cent goldfish at the pet store. I was determined to give him/her a long life, but I didn't want to invest in a whole big aquarium layout. I knew that an unfiltered bowl was a recipe for disaster so I tried this.

It's a terrific system. The little filter attaches to an inexpensive pump you buy separately. Suction cups hold the filter in place inside a bowl of your choosing. The filter is pretty small so I wouldn't recommend a tank that's much larger than 2 or 3 gallons. I am also not sure this device would work on a spherical bowl -I THINK you need something with at least one flat side.

The filters are inexpensive and super super easy to swap out after a couple weeks' use.

This little feeder goldfish was one of my favorite pet experiences and I attribute his long life (four years!!!) to his healthy bowl.

I uploaded a video so you can see the size and hear the pump.

When we first won two goldfish for our two boys at a fair, we bought the bowl and rocks, but no filter. A week later, one of the fish died, even though I have been changing the water with filtered water.

Now that we have this filter, the fish have been very healthy and the water much clearer.

I still change the water out each weekend, and wash the rocks and inside of the bowl because it gets pretty slimy. So far the fish seem to be really happy.

The main con is the pump is a little noisy, hence four stars.

When I ordered a Filter replacement, I got the wrong product:

I needed the SWF-1C rectangular cartridge but I ordered from ToysNGames and received the SWF2C cylindrical instead.

I highly recommend this for a small 2 gallon fishbowl to help keep the water clear instead of having your fish swim in stagnant water.

Each time I switch out the water, I have to rinse the filter case as well since there is a layer of slime? The white filter part turned tan after about 3 weeks.

I change the water with carbon filtered water every week and add some water treatment.

So far, my comet goldfish has been pretty happy.

Again, the correct replacement filter needed is the SWF-1C

I have a hexagonal three-gallon tank that is home to my grandson's carnival-won goldfish year after year. I don't have the heart to flush these fish away, probably because I don't have to regularly clean or replace the water.

Handy little filter for my fishbowl. Keeps the bowl real clear even with a live plant inside. I have it clipped onto the top of my bowl with my own clip because it's designed for a flat walled aquarium. Also the pump is a navy blue, not teal as in the picture, which I like better.

i really liked the plant and the price for size . the only bad thing was pakaging . it came in a manilla envelope alone . the base had a crack in it due to which . all in all its a good product though.

This sand is very pretty in color its really light like almost a white but not quite. The grade is nice the snails and starfish seem to like it. When you have your night lights on it kinda glows in the dark. The price was fair and it doesn't cloud your water too much in 24 hours my tank was clear and within 2 days it was crystal clear like the fish were swimming in thin air. I did rinse this sand before adding it to my tank. I would recommend this product to anyone and I would buy it again. The only thing I did miss when I put this into my tank and added the water was the smell of the ocean didn't get that with this sand? other than that it is great stuff.

The substrate is superb, and comes ready to set into an aquarium as is.... The only thing that bothered me was the weight... just kidding of course, I mean for 40lbs it was sure worth the money. Satisfied.
