Eshopps PF-300 Overflow Box - Up to 75 gallons - 6 in. x 3 in. x 10 in.

Eshopps PF-300 Overflow Box - Up to 75 gallons - 6 in. x 3 in. x 10 in.The box works very well. The inner box does a decent job of skimming any particles off the surface and retains flow even after a power outage. There were a few things I wish had come in the package: a priming tube and assorted sized connectors for various sized flexible tubing outputs. The inner box is larger than I anticipated taking up a decent size chunk of real estate inside the tank. Overall it works very well though, it gets the job done.

Works well but seems to loose siphon over time

There could be a better way to start the siphon

Construction is very nice but the way the 2 boxes attach together is iffy.

Instructions are non existent.

AquaClear 110 Foam Insert

AquaClear 110 Foam InsertThere isn't a whole lot to say about these filters. I find them a bit pricey for what it is ( a block of foam that happens to be the right size for your filter) but they do effectively filter fish waste as they're supposed to...

Just the right cut and fit. I don't know why everybody is giving so many bad reviews, it's a filter! It is designed and made for the aquaclear 110. What else you can ask for?

Buy AquaClear 110 Foam Insert Now

This is the standard AquaClear 110 filter insert that you may find in your LFS or box store. I order them here because I usually can't get locally on a consistent basis. They last a good amount of time but don't seem to be quite as well made as they used to be. The material seems to fall apart faster than it did a few years ago. Nothing is made like it used to be anymore.

these new aquaclear 110 foam appear at least an inch smaller than the chamber dimension. i like most of my Hagen product, but so disappointed with this one. hope they will make the adjustment to the size so they can fit better or i have to look for alternative solution for my filters.

the filter works great and fits perfect in the chamber .... very porous which is essential for the growth of bacteria

New Life Spectrum Thera A Large Fish - 600 g

New Life Spectrum Thera A Large Fish - 600 gThe fish eat it. I dont know if it is better then other food, but my angel fish and parrot fish attack the pellets with a vengeance.

I have been feeding my fish with these for a while now and the Thera-A is my favorite formula for staple feeding. I have been using the 1mm size for most of my fish (even though their small the fish find them easily enough), and was happy to see that they came out with a medium, large, and jumbo pellet for my larger fish. My fish relish these pellets and the fact that they have an extra ingredient allicin(more garlic!!)that helps with their immunity and fights parasites is a real bonus. I think it really helped when i started my clown loach colony, as it seems everytime I introduced a new clown loach they would ALL get ich again! That was when NLS was new and since feeding them the thera-a they never had problems with ich with newcomers, as well as no problems with wasting syndrome. NLS is one of if not the best fish food for all fish on the market today and contains some of the best ingredients. They do as they state, keep my fish happy and healthy. This formula has the perfect protein content to me not too high and not too low. Too high protein seems to shorten the lifespan of fish and too low seems to hurt their growth potential. The Thera-a is right in the middle in terms of protein compared to other formulas. I would recomend this product as well as any other product produced by NLS to anybody who really cares for their fish. It may cost a little more than cheaper brands but it is the best. Now they have to make a floating formula for the Thera-a so I can mix some floating with sinking for all my fish!

My fish really seem to like this food. Their color and energy are very good with New Life Spectrum. I only gave the product 4 stars because it does give a mild cloudy effect to the water.

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Plants Fish Tank Decoration, Red/Purple

Jardin Plastic Aquarium Plants Fish Tank Decoration, Red/PurpleI bought this plant because of the good reviews and I did like the look of the plant at first glance but after looking closer...I notices strands of glue throughout the leaves and some of the plant stems were coming out of the base in my hand. This plant is going back.

I was a little concerned trying this in a betta tank but it has worked out fine. While it is plastic the material is not sharp. My fish likes to rest with her head inside the plant! The color is what caught my attention it's nice little pop of red an soft purple blend. Weighted bottom works without gravel.

The plant's arrival from shippment is sorta flat but once you have it out of package and fluff it up a bit and let it sit for a day or so its form will go back to original shape (mine did).Looks great if using black gravel as well.

Bubble-Wall® Air Diffusers for Aquariums

Penn Plax Bubble Wall Air Diffuser, 28-InchIts simple, cheap and looks great.

Word of advise, if you're going to cover it with gravel, make sure its properly stuck to the bottom or side glass. Otherwise it will get loose and it floats, so youll be digging gravel trying to get it reattached.

My Oscar's loved playing in the bubbles but since they are aggressive and large they kept pulling the tube out or the stone off the wall so I had to take it out of the tank. While it was in the tank it looked did good and they seemed to love swimming in the bubbles. So I give it a good rating because I think my problems where due to the Oscars size and aggression.

Buy Bubble-Wall® Air Diffusers for Aquariums Now

These reviewers are not very bright. The Bubble Wall is the best of 4 different types I bought. The bubbles are fine and the whole 18" (two joined parts) bubble uniformly.

To avoid large bubbles one must place the suction cups on the end fittings (NOT on the actual bubble material. And joining the two pieces is easy if one takes a nail file and gently bevels the end.

I installed four of these with NONE of the issues other complainers wrote about.

Read Best Reviews of Bubble-Wall® Air Diffusers for Aquariums Here

I bought the bubble wall for a great price and the delivery came on time with free super saver shipping by USPS. There is two rods made of a hard board like material (where the bubbles come out of) and a connector. I had a hard time keeping the ends connected together. Its almost like they don't fit in the connector and that's why I took a star away. It's holding together now, but barely, because if I push in too hard it might break. Other than that it looks great in my tank and my fish love swimming through the bubbles. It's a good deal worth buying.

Zoo Med Foam Block for 501 Turtle Filter

Zoo Med Foam Block for 501 Turtle FilterThese prefilters are great. Nice surface area and durable. I use them on Aquaclear HOB filter intakes and Eheim 2215 intakes. Much better than the Fluval Edge prefilter, although I use the Edge Prefilter on my Edge due to space limitations.... The Zoo-Med is a larger diameter than the Fluval.

bought for replacements for filter used for turtle tanks. fits perfectly, last a long time. would recommend for turtle filters.

I had a small tank which I wanted an inconspicuous filter for. This filter fit the bill, being an outside the tank little canister filter. Easy and fast to set up .

Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med Foam Block for 501 Turtle Filter Here

I set up a couple shrimp tanks and barb breeding tanks; I bought this to cover the intake of my small canister filter to prevent fry and shrimplets from getting sucked up by the filter. It does wonders and doesn't reduce flow :)

Want Zoo Med Foam Block for 501 Turtle Filter Discount?

Fits the canister well, and traps a lot of very small particles. Instructions should note that the capped end of the black tube (which is part of the filter and does not come with the replacement foam block) fits into the bottom of the sponge and that the open end of the same tube inserts into the pump opening in the top of the unit. This will force the water through the filter instead of allowing it to go around the filter instead. So, if you're using this foam block and find the water isn't quite as clean as you'd like, check to ensure the tube is in position properly and securely.

Hagen Marina Flexible Coil Brush

Hagen Marina Flexible Coil BrushIt looked okay, but within a few minutes of use the end of the brush came off leaving it stuck at full length inside of the plastic tube I was cleaning. Now this wasn't a press fit so there really wasn't much pressure on the brush that would have caused it to come off. It just came disconnected from the long steel rod. No way to fix it that I could see or trust that it wouldn't happen again. Donated it to the trash can. Maybe two stars is too much.

I bought this for my husband to clean the fish and turtle tanks and he loves it. It fits into all the small and curved tubes and filters. We looked at all the pet stores and the only place it can be found is online. He gives it 5 stars!

to really get crap out of tubing the brush could stand to b a bit less soft. It does flex well to get thru tubing but If your trying to get coralline off it's not very effective unless you soak whatever in a strong vinegar bath for a good while first. Takes a bit of scrubbing for algae too! I also had the brush come off also inside my protein skimmer...luckily I could get some tweezers in the hole & pull it out! I got it screwed back in tight but now don't trust it as much!

To those that had trouble w/the brush coming off, if u just twist it back into the wire tubing it goes right back! Just tighten it REALLY hard & it'll stay! I've done that after it came off & it's been fine! Still needs to b a bit less wimpy of a brush though!!

Hagen Nutrafin Max Tropical Fish Flakes, 7.58-Ounce

Hagen Nutrafin Max Tropical Fish Flakes, 7.58-OunceIt's hard to tell yet how it affects the fish's health, only been using it for a few weeks. Nutrifin is a good company from what I understand.

I recommend these fish flakes because they do not cloud the water in the fish tank. I keep the 7.58 oz canisters in the cabinet under the fish tanks and keep them filled from the 4.4 lb. bucket. This way I have the product on hand and it saves me a 100 mile round trip to the pet store and they do not always have what I need. I know where to get it now. THANKS!

We have twenty platies spread across two tanks and they seem to love the Nutrafin Max. Their colors are bright, they are healthy, and it is so easy to feed them that my seven year old takes care of it on most days. The only drawback is that the flakes are very very large and need to be crushed prior to feeding time.

All Glass Aquarium AAG29016 Versa Top, 16-Inch

All Glass Aquarium AAG29016 Versa Top, 16-InchThis arrived with really great packaging (I always worry when I order something easily breakable!) and it had fast shipping. It fit the tank I needed it for perfectly. This kind of lid is great for holding in humidity for something like hermit crabs.

this arrived just as advertised (nib) and fit my 5 gallon rectangular fish tank perfectly. the plastic was hard to cut but that wasn't a seller problem, just a personal issue.

Price was right and it fits my AGA tank perfectly. Easy to clean and it came with the hinges on which is normally a nighmare.

Read Best Reviews of All Glass Aquarium AAG29016 Versa Top, 16-Inch Here

I bought this top for my 5g nano. It seems great, but i chipped the glass putting the plastic back piece on. This wasn't a big deal to me as the plastic hinge covered the part of glass that I had chipped though this does make me nervous about the ease of breaking it. I am very careful every time I open it/shut it/do anything around it and it has been fine so far.

It also doesn't fit my aquarium correctly. It is too short to sit on top, and too large to securely rest on the inside of the top braces (about 1/16 of an inch too wide). Disappointing.

If you like the nice sleek clean look of the glass canopy, use a spare suction cup from a heater or something to open it rather than attaching the included handle. IMO It looks much better without the handle attached.

I rate this a 3 overall because I am disappointed with the quality. If the lid had fit my tank I would have been close to a 5.

Want All Glass Aquarium AAG29016 Versa Top, 16-Inch Discount?

The ‘handle' was missing from my aquarium top, but as far as I am concerned it is a minor flaw and the lid is working well without it. There are no sharp edges, and the hinge feature is strong and well made. This glass lid rests perfectly on the inside lip of my 5-1/2 gallon aquarium. Instead of cutting the plastic insert to fit my filter, heater, etc., I have simply left it off altogether. That allows a small gap at the front as well as a larger gap at the back which is actually nice because it inhibits steamy glass, and makes raising and lowering the lid without a handle easy. I hadn't thought about it keeping the water warmer overnight when the house cools down, but that the heater doesn't have to work so hard to keep the water temperature steady has been an added bonus. I bought this lid intending to put it on the aquarium only when I am travelling so that the automatic feeder can rest on it. In fact it works perfectly for this purpose. When I fold the back of the lid over the front, the feeder can sit in just the right position to drop food into the feeding ring. However, the lid works so well that I leave it on my fish tank all the time. This was a great purchase!

Fluval Edge Aquarium with LED Light, White

Fluval Edge 6-Gallon Aquarium with 21-LED Light, BlackThere are plenty of detailed reviews on the original Fluval Edge. This one, with the 21 LED lighting is the newer model, so when I decided to make my purchase I went with this one, even though it's several dollars more. Personally, from all the comments regarding the lighting issues on the previous model I wouldn't hesitate spending the extra money and opt for this newer model. In reading the other reviews, there isn't much that I can add that hasn't already been said. However, these are the things that I think are major pros and cons:

Biggest Pros: The lighting expands throughout the tank from edge to edge, not just in the center. Better design if you're keeping live plants. Plus, the lights don't get warm at all.

The blue night-lighting is a very nice feature. I use this setting about an hour before I go to bed and it's really relaxing to watch the fish swim in the blue light.

The tank itself is the coolest design I've ever seen. It is extremely impressive to view, and gives the feel of everything being almost weightless. Very soothing.

Biggest Cons:

As everyone has stated before, the opening is small, but I can reach my hand inside from corner to corner without any trouble. Something to think about, though: I bought the bamboo wall accessory and it made the opening even smaller, as it sits right below it. I ended up removing mine and stuck with live plant and rock decorations. It looks just as nice that way, and I have more room to get into the aquarium when needed.

If you want to do any cleaning or need to stick your hand into the aquarium for ANY reason, you MUST remove some of the water first. Otherwise it will spill out of the opening and all over the place.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a tank that is visually stunning to look at and want something completely unusual, you won't be disappointed IF you can live with the few quirks this tank has. If you like rearranging your tank or need to get in and out of it quickly, you may find this more annoying than its worth. I've kept tanks on and off for over 15 years and for me, the beauty of it outweighs what some people would call a nuisance.

I wanted to test the Fluval Edge 46lt/12gl for a few months before jumping in to write about it. When I first received the tank and upon inspection, I found that the column did not have the two clips that attach to the glass tank. Hagen was nice to send me a replacement column but still it was a hassle to disassemble the lighting unit in order to change the correct part.

The first thing that anyone buying this tank must understand is that they are trading usability and functionality for aesthetics. I found myself challenged to make up for the inconvenience of having a small 5"x7" opening where all interaction with the outside world must "fit in". These are the areas that I found the most challenging and dysfunctional about this tank:

FILTRATION:

The form is such that the tank is exactly the same length and width as the smaller 23lt/6gl Fluval Edge only that it is twice it's height. Still this version of the Fluval Edge uses the same HOB Filter as it's smaller counterpart. If the effectiveness of the filter in the 6gl version was good, now it is half as good. I was able to corroborate this fact when I started to develop algae problems in my tank. When I invited a marine biologist/experienced aquarist friend to see my aquarium, the first observation he made was how stagnant and poorly oxygenated the water was towards the bottom half of the tank. As we all know, this lack of aeration and movement is a major cause of poor water quality and algae development. The solutions I found were to replace the HOB filter with an external unit and to add a micro pump like the Koralia 240 Hydor Koralia Nano 240 Aquarium Circulation Pump, 240 gph which worked well. I also tried a Jardin filter sponge with good results Jardin Fish Aquarium Mini Cylinder Soft Sponge Water Filter, Black. Perhaps if the tank would have been longer or wider as opposed to only taller, the opening could have been larger enabling the option of a larger, more powerful HOB filter.

LIGHTS:

Even with the LED improvement, the lighting unit that comes with the tank is only good enough for non-planted tanks or low-light plants such as anubias or ferns. Any other plants requiring medium or high lighting would likely suffer. Problems associated with the low lighting are exacerbated by the poor placement of the lighting unit which is confined to the 5"x7" opening towards the middle back of the tank. Any plants in the aquarium would fare better only if placed directly below this 5"x 7" area. Another limiting factor is that the lighting unit needs to be turned off and raised up in order to access the tank for maintenance. Unless the tank is located next to a bright window (an unlikely scenario) you will basically find yourself performing maintenance in the dark. The addition of an external lighting unit is almost a necessity, even more so in a planted tank. I found a unit called the Padlite by Truelumen TrueLumen Padlite TrueLumen Aquatic LED Strips which worked quite well but it was not cheap.

MAINTENANCE

A major hassle in all respects. For a planted aquarium, trimming plants is almost a nightmare. You are limited by the angles and require large curved scissors. Also all the cuttings accumulate on the top glass and it is quite difficult to clean them up completely. I found that using a sponge soaked in aquarium water helped. A floater magnet cleaner Mag Float Floating Magnet Aquarium Cleaner is a good idea in order to eliminate bubbles and move the accumulated debris/cuttings off the top glass. However I do not recommend this product to clean the glass as the inside magnet/bristles are very rough and will invite any particles floating in the water that will scratch your glass. Catching fish is quite challenging. I have large rocks so imagine trying to catch a pygmy cory through the 5"x7" opening with a fluval edge net?! I resolved, basically, that any fish or invertebrates that go inside the tank stay in the tank forever.

That said, I agree with almost all reviewers here that the tank looks amazing and the fact that all electrical cords and tubing can be hidden inside the back column is a blessing. At least we get a little something in exchange for all the pain.

Buy Fluval Edge Aquarium with LED Light, White Now

I've owned Fluval products for years including some large aquariums like the Osaka, and I have to admit I'm a fan. I received the Fluval edge about a week ago and I immediately set it up for my 5 black phantom tetras. At times, I felt like I was setting up a ship in a bottle; it can be a little tight getting your arm in the opening, but overall it wasn't a frustrating venture. No problems with the power filter; I enjoy the easy to access flow adjuster. I decided to add a fluval water polishing pad to the top of the filter media compartment for a little extra shine. I'm just now noticing the nitrite levels starting to rise; so, that's a good sign. I was a bit concerned with the oxygen level issue considering that the actual surface area is only about 5"x 7"; I placed a bubble wand on the tank floor right below the opening. The bubble wand added a nice effect to the tank as well as a visual screen for the power filter intake tube and the heater on the back wall. So far, I have not noticed any fish "panting for air" or any surface breathing. You have to really level the tank if you want to avoid large amounts of air pockets on the top; I have small bubbles form on the top which I'm positive are from my bubble wand, but nothing that can't be remedied by a little manipulation by my small magnet cleaner. I really enjoy the LED lighting; it illuminates the entire tank so well. I also enjoy the moonlight setting. The one water change I did was not that bad, I had to get a gravel vacuum that was much smaller than the one I use just to be able to get the distant corners, but overall not a difficult thing. Overall, I'm enjoying my purchase, and I'm pretty sure my tetra are also.

Amazon sent 3 of them to me and each one arrived damaged. Ouch... Factory box is poorly designed and simply can't offer enough protection. I had to purchase the tank at my local store. Of course Amazon issued me a credit no question asked. So good luck getting yours without a damage. Hope you will.

When you receive your tank, don't get too excited and spontaneously unpack it. Inspect it first! You can easily look inside and check the glass without removing it from the box. Now, if you unpack it first and find any damage later, good luck putting it all back together. Took me long time and it was very irritating.

The tank itself is great. I already own original 6 gallon Fluval Edge and had been hoping for a larger model for a long time.

New tank offers double the capacity (12 gallons) and new improved light. Instead of two halogen bulbs that would last just few weeks, now you get a nice setup of white LEDs with a night mode. Night mode is actually great. Three, dark blue LEDs offer pleasant, ambient light that is non aggressive. You can leave it on for the night.

Assembling is super easy and takes no time. You should be done in just few minutes. I just don't understand how some people find it confusing and challenging.

Light switch is from hell. Hard to access (you must remove the top cover). Once you get there, switching it ON/OFF/NightMode is a pure exercise in patience. Don't give up, it will eventually work. Oh, there is one trap...the light assembly is attached to the power supply via somehow hidden connector inside the rear post where the filter and power cables are located. Double check the connection.

Because of the design of the tank plan ahead of time where you want your plants and decorations. Once the tank is full, you will need to remove some water to put your arm in and make changes.

The tank looks great! It is elegant and classy. I love the clean, simple lines. I used it to replace my 16 gallons conventional tank with an ugly traditional hood. My only regret I waited for too long to switch.

The price is great. You get the glass, light, hood, filter with the media and even water treatment chemicals. All put together it is a nice deal. So if you decide getting one Enjoy!

I wanted a aquarium, so searched around online and saw this on YouTube ..Bought the book 'Aquariums for Dummies' and ordered my 12 gallon Fluval Edge in black from Petco and all my other supplies from Dr. Foster and Smith. Used 'EcoComplete Black Substrate' and 'Caribsea Sunset Gold Substrate Sand' but really one bag is more than plenty! I live in a rural area so bought live plants from liveaquaria and they were excellant, healthy, lush and in winter too! Aquarium came by FED Ex Freight. Got my tank on Monday and plants Tues. and Substrates, plus Fluval Edge Accessories> heater, algae magnet, digital thermometer on Wed. and did set up Wed. It took 4 hours to fill (using a large measuring cup) and do planting. It's a deep tank and tricky to stick arm in but not a big deal My substrate is 4''deep(not sure if this is too deep) but looks nice with the color and texture contrast. Used a wood dowel to push in some of my plants. Added a large fake piece of driftwood with java ferns tied on it. The filter was awesome and super quite, it cleared a very murky water in less than 3 hours. I will let it cycle without fish for a couple of weeks ,then decide on fish.. Overall is a lovely tank, easy to set up, super quite, goes well with my decor and if I had more room would buy a second one! Also I did add a small 5x4 piece of shelf foam to rest aquarium on base, doubt it was needed but don't want it to slide on the smooth plastic base. Will also add a timer to the lights.

Como Aquarium Fish Tank Artificial Plastic Plant Ornament w Base

Como Aquarium Fish Tank Artificial Plastic Plant Ornament w BaseCame a day before its estimate which was good. Smelled very plasticy however so I washed it thoroughly. My betta seems to enjoy it though!

First impression: Just purchased this plant for my 2gal betta tank (Aqueon Evolve2 tank). It takes up about 1/6th of the overall space, leaving enough room for the betta to swim around, but also hide within its branches. Very pretty blue and purple colors under the white and blue tank lighting. Would highly recommend!

I cannot speak to the durability of the product, but off first impression I am very happy with the purchase.

Pondmaster 02910 Ultra Violet Light Pond Water Clarifier 10watt

Pondmaster 02910 Ultra Violet Light Pond Water Clarifier 10wattThis UV filter works, but there are some strange issues with it. Hopefully my review will help other customers avoid the hassles I went through with this item.

The inlet/outlet barbs on this filter are supposedly sized to fit 3/4 inch tubing; however, oddly, the barbs are significantly smaller than they should be, so tubing goes on, hangs loosely, and then falls off if you move the unit around much.

In my experience with other pond products with barbs, barbs are designed to hold tubing quite snugly, without requiring the use of clamps (this is especially important if you have to open up the unit every month or so to do the recommended cleanings of the interior light cover, where clamps would be a major pain). There are no threads or any other way of securing tubing to this UV filter.

The issue of how to attach tubing to the unit caused a great deal of confusion for me when I first got the product. I took it to several local pond supply stores to see if they could help me figure out if I was doing something wrong. The pond supply folks were as puzzled as I was about why the barbs did not fit standard 3/4 inch tubing. We tried other sized tubing, but nothing fit properly.

I emailed the customer support people at Danner Manufacturing (the company that makes these filters). Their staff were entirely unhelpful. Eventually, the best they could manage in response to my request for instructions on how to attach the unit to tubing (and ultimately to my Pondmaster pump/filter unit), was to send me a sketch showing a UV filter attached to a pump (but no instructions or diagrams on how this was actually accomplished). This sketch was supposed to demonstrate that it was theoretically possible to attach the UV filter to other equipment. When I followed up with several emails asking them for details on -howto attach the tubing, I received a message that they were researching what types of adapters were needed, but then a week went by with no further communication from them despite an additional query from me. At that point, in frustration, I gave up on receiving any kind of customer support.

As the algae was continuing to build up in my pond and I was increasingly concerned for my fish, I decided to just try running the UV filter with the tubing loosely attached just to see if that would somehow be good enough. Lo and behold, when the UV filter is running, even if loosely connected to the pump via 3/4 inch tubing, a certain amount of suction occurs, allowing the tubing to stay connected (as long as you don't bump the UV filter or the tubing).

What this means is that, if you have a person to help you (holding the pump and any other attached equipment while you hold the UV filter and it's tubing), you can lay all of your equipment into the pond carefully, being sure nothing gets disconnected in the process, and then turn on the pump and UV filter. If everything stays connected, when you turn on the UV filter and pump, everything should stay connected -as long as you don't have big, heavy fish that like to nudge the tubing or any significant currents where your equipment is located.

Personally, I find this to be a tedious process (which will have to be repeated each time I clean the UV light cover and/or my filter), and I don't appreciate that there were no instructions about any of this included with the product. I also did not find Danner Manufacturing to be at all helpful in resolving this issue.

However, once I figured it out... the UV filter does do its job wonderfully! The pond is free of algae after about a week of run-time. I just wish I had known how to solve the installation issues and hadn't wasted so much time trying to figure this out.

This is the 10 watt Supreme Pondmaster Submersible UV Clarifier, model 29101. When water is circulated through it, the water is exposed to ultraviolet light that is capable of killing both suspended algae and bacteria. I have used several of these units in both marine aquaria (outside the tank) and in my pond (in the water) and they have performed perfectly.

The unit contains a tubular UV bulb protected by a slightly larger quartz sleeve. Danner says that the design causes the water to flow through the unit in a circular manner but I have never cut one open to see how that might be accomplished.

Build quality is excellent and I have had no problems with leakage of water either into the interior quartz sleeve and UV tube or out onto the floor.

It is important to remember that the quartz sleeve will gradually become partially occluded by deposits on the outside surface. For best results, you should disassemble the clarifier periodically (monthly is about right) and remove and clean the sleeve. Disassembly is quick and easy but be careful with both the sleeve and the tube when you do it.

The clarifier works well but beware: Danner advertises that the 10-watt model will be adequate for ponds up to 1500 gallons. This is extremely optimistic. If you begin with a pond that is absolutely clean and algae free, the 10-watt model might keep it that way, if used in conjunction with a good filter. However, if you are installing the clarifier to deal with a pre-existing problem, you should probably not count on it working well for ponds over 500 gallons. My pond is 650 gallons and the 10-watt device is barely adequate. There is relatively little difference (about $30) in the cost of the 10-watt and 20-watt models and using more UV than you need doesn't harm anything and adds at most a few pennies to you electricity bill. If in doubt, go with the 20-watt model.

Also, the specification calls for a 700gph pump (1800gph for the 20-watt model). Do not think that you can improve performance by using a larger pump. You probably won't hurt the device but the water will pass through it too quickly for the UV to kill the nasties. A pump that is too small just reduces the speed with which the entire volume of the pond passes through the clarifier.

One last caution: DON'T LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE UV TUBE WHEN IT IS ILLUMINATED NO MATTER WHETHER IT IS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE QUARTZ SLEEVE. YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR EYES IF YOU DO SO.

This U V light system works amazingly well. Simple to hook up and use and very effective, cleaned up our pond water even faster than I expected. Our neighbors that have fish ponds are still cleaning their foam/mesh filters at least once a day and their ponds are still green. I'm cleaning my pad filter once every three to four days now and our pond is crystal clear. Very impressive that something this simple would work so well. I would highly recommend this pondmaster UV water filter to anyone.

We had green soup and in about a week or two we have clear water. We are pleased with the product.

I'm using this in a small pond that uses a 1/2 whiskey barrel to create a waterfall. I simply put the filter in the whiskey barrel and inserted the tube from the put into one end (it slide right in). I didn't need to another tube on the outtake. It has been running for about 2 wks it has noticeably reduced the algae.

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00259 Mag-Float Mini Glass and Acrylic Aquarium Cleaner

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00259 Mag-Float Mini Glass and Acrylic Aquarium CleanerThe magnetic floating cleaner is a great idea. One side attaches inside the tank, that has a scrubber, and the other side is a soft felt pad. Through the glass on the tank the magnets hold the two pieces together, allowing you to move the outside one which in turns moves the inside one scurbbing the tank.

The only complaint about this, was my own mistake, I ordered the small one, which is about an inch long, I needed one that was a bit bigger for my 29 gallon tank, this one works, but it just takes a bit longer.

this dang thing scratched my acylic aquarium the first time I used it. Nothing was between it and the aquarium, no stones, debris etc. It was a brand new magnet on a fairly new aquarium. Sorry I ruined my tank with this piece of junk. Use at your own risk...

Despite the product information stating that these will not damage acrylic tanks, the product left awful scratches on my tank the first time I used it! To add insult to injury, it did a very poor job removing algae. I just ended up with patches of algae streaked by the scratches in the tank. Don't waste your time and money with this product.

If you're looking for algae control in a freshwater tank, I would strongly recommend getting a couple Olive Nerite snails instead of wasting your money on a Mag-Float that will do more harm than good. Olive Nerite snails are voracious little algae eaters that will keep your tank spotless and can't reproduce in freshwater, so they won't overrun your tank. I purchased two of these snails for less than I spent on the Mag-Float that ended up in the trashcan.

I bought this at my local Petsmart as it was cheaper there and I even made sure that it said it would be safe for acrylic tanks. I came home in hopes that it'd be an easier way to clean the algae off the sides of my tank. But instead, I got TONS of lines going up and down my tank. BEWARE!

I bought this for my smaller aquarium. It worked so well that I bought the next larger size for my larger aquarium. It cleans the glass well and is very easy to install and use. It "parks" in the back corner of my aquarium so that it is not visible when not in use. I find this accessory very useful.

Hydor 150W Submersible Aquarium Heater - Original Theo

Hydor 150W Submersible Aquarium Heater - Original TheoThis fishtank heater works great. I'm using it in a 29 gallon tank. I set it to 79 degrees and my temperature strip on the tank shows 78 degreees. I'd say it's accurate. I recommend buying it.

This heater is accurate and consistent. If you are looking for a heater then it is more important that it keeps constant, consistent temperature. Being accurate is not important as long as you have an accurate thermometer.

If you are heating your tank for the first time then it is easy to get to the temperature that you want.

1) Put the heater in the tank and set it 10-15 degrees higher than your temperature goal

2) Watch your thermometer either the floating or stick on

3) Once your temperature goal is met, lower the setting on your heater and immediately stop when the red light goes off

Placed it in the water horizontally (completely submersed), works perfect. Has a little red light that shows when it is running which is somewhat hard to see in this mounting position, but all in all a good heater, no fuss.

Thermostat eventually broke on my unit & unfortunately we didn't catch it in till it took a couple fish with it. Temp was set at 77 degrees but unit heated the tank to 84! Tried lowering the gauge but got the same results. Bought this over other models in hopes it would be long lasting & dependable but it's going to the garbage can.

After buying the Hydor power heads, I figured I couldn't go wrong with this company. I was very disappointed when I installed my heater, set the temperature to 78, and came back a couple hours later to find that my water was at 84 degrees! To try and counter this, I unplugged it, let the temperature settle back down to about 74 degrees. Plugged the heater back in, set the temp to 72. Came back a couple hours later, water was at 79. I double checked to make sure that I ordered the correct size, and wattage (which it was). Stick with the power heads, avoid the heaters.

Exo Terra Liquid Crystal Thermometer

Exo Terra Liquid Crystal ThermometerIf you are looking for a good thermometer to put in a reptile tank, look no further. This thermometer is very convenient sticks right onto the glass surface of the tank, right out of the way. It's very easy to read and the price is remarkably low. Perfect accesory to keep track of your reptile's surrounding environment.

Note: I recommend going out to the pet store to buy this because although the price is cheap the shipping and handling is more than twice as much the product price.

Does its job. Sticks to tank well and tells the temperature. For terrariums, but I use it on a turtle tank filled with water as a double-check.

I'm not sure what was wrong with mine, but the reading on it never changed.... I eventually tried to rip it out and move it to another location, but it falls apart when you do that, and I was left with a mess that it's impossible to get off.

No crystal in this thermometer, looks more like a toy. I don't think you could get reliable readings from it.

TOM Aquarium Deco Kit - 2gal Aquarium Kit - PC Lighting & Filter

TOM Aquarium Deco Kit - 2gal Aquarium Kit - PC Lighting & Filterthe filter is amazing for the tank...powerful enough that I have had it for almost a year and have only had to add water here and there and wipe around the tops of the tank and replace the filter cartridges. The only complaint I have with the product is the fact that the tank is very cheaply made. I screwed the NANO light onto the top of the tank itself where the lights sleeve rests and very slowly tightened the plastic screws and it instantly cracked the top of the fish tank. Besides that my guppies are happy in their sophisticated home.
