Absorbtion Corp Arm and Hammer Natural Pet Bedding, 60-Liter

Absorbtion Corp Arm and Hammer Natural Pet Bedding, 60-LiterThis is the best of the paper litter products we have used for our rabbit. It absorbs odor far better than carefresh, and is less expensive. We flush this, and though it does occasionally cause us to pull out the plunger, it happens less likely than with the other brand. I was very happy to find it here in a large size bag on Amazon, as we can only buy it in town at Safeway, in teeny packages that our fat rabbit goes through in about a week.

I use this bedding for my 7 guinea pigs (to put in their litter box). It's very absorbent and leaves no mess whatsoever, unlike some other beddings! My guinea pigs are able to use it for their business without throwing it all over the place like they did with the Kaytee bedding. It's also great that it's 60 liters because they go through bedding VERY quickly, but this one so far has been lasting a bit longer than the kiln-dried pine bedding I used to use. A great buy!

Eshopps Float Valve

Eshopps Float ValveFirst let me say, I like the thing. I use it as an auto-top-off solution, and it's literally one of the only float valves correctly sized for a sump tank. . I'm glad I bought it and saved $$ over an expensive ATO like the Osmolator. However, a couple of drawbacks:

Construction isn't the best. It's a bit "wobbly" when mounted. The insert where the hose goes in is less-than-reliable. The hose doesn't fit in watertight very well, it takes a lot of maneuvering to get the drips to stop. I've also had it pop out, and nearly flood my sump before I caught it. There's also no way to turn it off for water changes, etc.

Out of the box, I wouldn't necessarily see this as "set it and forget it." I ended up permanently sealing the inlet with glue and silicone, and put a ball valve on the hose a few inches from the intake. That way not only is there a nice tight seal on the inlet, but I can stop the flow during a water change etc.

I'd recommend it to people, but only if they realize that you have to take some steps to ensure it's reliable functionality.

I recieved the product in a timely manor. I did have to alter one thing on the product. the hole that allowed the water to seep through was small (microscopic). So, I opened it up more for my preference. Love the product. It come out of the box assembled all I had to do was tie in my water line that fed it.

Buy Eshopps Float Valve Now

I liked the product, It does what I need it to do, but be careful you don't always get what you see. The picture and advertisement were not what came in the box. The picture showed a 90 degreee fitting and it came with a straight fitting. I called and Sandy was nice enough to send me the proper fitting I needed. She also sent me a neopreme washer because it came with a broken one. Be very carefull the clear plastic ring that holds the float is very brittle and after tighting mine and trying to to turn the float a little it snapped right off.

i cant believe i was manually adding water to my tank. I couldnt be gone from home more than 2 days. I have a 30 gal square rimless tank with a MH lighting. My tank evaporates almost 2 gallons/day. I plumbed under my house directly from RO unit and it is maintenance free. This is hands down the best investment i have made for my reef tank. Do yourself the favor and buy this and dont try to diy. This unit looks really good in my sump. I tried several diy ato's and this one looks VERY good in the sump.

Marina Decorative Gravel - 1 lbs

Marina Decorative Gravel, 1-Pound, BlueAs far as the gravel goes, it is a nice product (good quality, color, etc). However, I've never weighed a pound of gravel before, so wasn't sure how much I was getting. I only have a small 6 gallon aquarium, so I knew I wouldn't need much, but boy was I in for a surprise. 1 lb of this is about 1.5 fists full for me.... just in case any shoppers out there aren't sure what to expect. I got 3 bags of this... which was no-where near enough. On top of that, the price (which seemed great at the time) is way over what is reasonable for the product. I wound up going to my local PetSmart to get more gravel and found the same brand in a 5 lb bag for only $1 more than I paid here for a single bag. Needless to say not a great experience. Some of you readers may think that it is my fault for not knowing how much 1 pound of gravel is. Well... sure. I wasn't prepared in that regard. However, the price is way out of line with the going price for gravel. I'm not sure why its so expensive here, when pet stores tend to be far more costly than what I find on Amazon. However, look at your local stores first before clicking "place order".

Gravel is gravel! Great for my betta bowl; def a bit on the smaller side (there isn't a lot in the bag), but it's only a pound. You could err on the side of getting two if having a good amount of substrate is important to you. Since this was just for my haunted fishbowl (so just seasonal; will just have it in my bowl for a month), I'm happy with it since I'll be putting my betta's old substrate back in after the holidays. If this was my permanent substrate though, I'd def err on the side of getting 2-3 bags for a 1-2 gallon bowl. : D

Great, quality product. I have a 5 gallon octagon tank and only bought 1 bag of this gravel, not nearly enough. I think you should get 1 bag per gallon. Holds it's color well too. Definately recommend.

YML Fish Hatchery Tank, 9 by 4 by 4-1/2-Inch

YML Fish Hatchery Tank, 9 by 4 by 4-1/2-InchThe size is good for mollies or platties if you don't divide it. It seems cruel to me to do so. Its got suction cups so you can stick the to the wall in your tank and holes on top so you don't have to open the thing everyday when it comes time to feed your fish. Definitely better than the floating one with very small openings you do have to open to feed. This is a perfect breeder.

Petco Suction Cups for Aquarium Heaters

Petco Suction Cups for Aquarium HeatersThe ones I received were not at all as in the photo or as in the item description. They were all in one piece. The ring to fit around the heater did NOT have a gap, but rather was all one continuous ring with no way to enlarge or adjust the size and thus way too small to fit around my aquarium heater. They were totally useless to me. And I have a Eheim 100W heater, no larger than the average heater. I don't like to give negative reviews, but beware ordering these as you may get something totally different than what you expect that will not work for you. For my purposes they are absolute junk. Maybe I'll find some other use for them sometime, but they won't be holding my aquarium heater.

the suction cups are permanently attached to the clips which go around the heater entirely (different from image). they are clear which has a nicer look. the suction cups work very well.

In all fairness, I did not use this item for its intended purpose, but the quality may suit its purpose.

Loving Pets Pure Buffalo Meaty Femur Knuckle Dog Treat, 2-Pack

Loving Pets Pure Buffalo Meaty Femur Knuckle Dog Treat, 2-PackMy 8 month old puppy can't get enough of chewing & most treats don't last long. This doesn't seem like it will ever wear out, but reason i gave it 4 stars is because it has a strong odor. Best to be used outdoors at first until it is more worn.

They were large and my dogs have been carrying them around for several weeks and keep going back to them. I would recommend these. I have small dogs and they don't care how large they are. They can still carry them around. They do not smell and did not leave marks on the carpet.

Gave these to my puppy, who is about 25 lb and 4.5 mo old. She worked on one for 2 days, got a little bored of it on the 3rd day, but every few days I take it out of its bag and she thinks it's the best thing in the world again and gnaws on it throughout the day. The bones are pretty large so I think one bag of these will last for a while.

Finnex 50-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 10 to 20-Gallon

Finnex 50-Watt Hang-On Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater, Titanium Tube, 10 to 20-GallonIt's often hard to find decent equipment for the nano/pico tank, and when my previous Finnex heater with an external controller bit the dust (after years of service), I was glad to find this 50 Watt model available. It has been working perfectly for a nearly a month, now, so I expect to get several years of service out of it. Once you've had a heater with an external controller, why would you ever get one without it? They are just SO much more convenient to use.

My only complaint about this model would be the very short cord (approx. 6") between the controller and the plug that goes into your electrical outlet. This definitely compromises the places you can put the controller within easy access, depending on the location of your tank and your outlets.

Otherwise, a fine, much appreciated product!

Pros:

reliably maintains constant temperature

adjustable external to the tank

Cons:

warranty is reprehensible (see below)

cord is very stiff and thick

suction cups don't really work adequately

temperature control is cheap quality

instructions are sparse, translated English

First of all, it gets 3 stars because it reliably maintains a constant temperature, unlike the ViaAqua.

My main complaint is the 180 day warranty!!!. For the price why doesn't it have a lifetime warranty like the Marineland heaters? Next time I need aquarium stuff, I think I will go to an aquarium store/site.

I do like the convenience of being able to adjust the temperature external to the tank, but it is not worth any down-sides, since a decent heater only needs to be set once.

This heater will do the job if you have a 10 gal unit. Looks smaller than pictured, but heats very well. My house gets 67 at night an 75 during the day and water stays 78.All I could ask.

If you have a Fluval Spec V (or another type of nano tank), I would recommend this heater based on my experience so far. (have been using for close to a month)

The 3 best features:

1. small size with enough power to get the job done

2. the controls are on the outside of the tank making it easy to adjust without ever having to move the heater.

3. it is metal instead of glass. therefore, a lot more durable.

The reasons I did not rate 5 stars:

1. when the heating element turns on/off, the controls make a pretty loud click. This can be a little annoying at night if you are trying to sleep next to it. (all aq. heaters do this, but most are quieter because they are underwater)

2. I wish the cord length between the heater and controller was a bit longer so it would be easier to hide the controller.

Bottom line: This heater is tough and keeps the water of my 5.6 gallon tank evenly heated at 77-78 degreed F. I suspect it would have no trouble with a bit larger tank too (the controls allow form more heat than that). It is convenient to use, and very compact.

side note: the instructions say to only position the heater horizontally, but I have had no trouble leaving it vertical in the hidden pump compartment of my Spec V.

UPDATE: 2 months in the tank and still going strong.

This is a good product. I have a 10 gallon tanks and it was getting pretty chilly in the night. I just plugged the heater in and it works great, it keeps the temperature steady. It has been working for a couple of months now, with no problem at all. I am very satisfied, I definitely recommend this product.

CaribSea Midnight Black Floramax Premium Aquarium Substrate

CaribSea Midnight Black Floramax Premium Aquarium SubstrateI don't know what's up with some of the negative reviews, but I absolutely love this substrate! There's better ones our there, such as ADA Amazonia, but they're also much more expensive. With Floramax, IMO, you get a quality substrate which has a high CEC (cationic exchange capacity) which enables this substrate to absorb nutrients from the water (when you dose with ferts, in addition to when your fish poop) and to time release it to the root system of your plants. Plus there's 'some' trace elements already in this substrate (which is essentially a form of lava rock. Floramax and Eco-Complete are essentially the same product. Only real difference is that Eco-Complete comes with that bacteria water which makes the bag heavier, so in essence, you get more substrate by buying floramax because the weight accurately indicates how much substrate you're getting. If you want to really supercharge this substrate, get some Seachem Flourish root tabs and strategically embed them throughout the substrate, depending on how you plan to plant your tank.

Anyway, I totally gutted out my old gravel substrate and replaced it with this. I rinsed the Floramax thoroughly before adding it in. I planted a bunch of stem plants, dwarf hair grass, vals, and hygros and got some great results. Of course I added a co2 injection system, albeit DIY, and dose ferts with my excellent lighting. Look up one of my videos on youtube by searching "Nano Cube 12g FW Planted Update 2012" and you'll see what I mean. Also, I didn't experience any cloudiness. I just followed the instructions and after adding in the substrate and filling my tank with water, I used the enclosed packet of bio-magnet to help remove the fine particles that can be suspended in the water to cause cloudiness.

Hope this helps... I'm convinced this is a good substrate for the value!

I bought this substrate about 3 months ago knowing nothing about it. I had never used a plant substrate before and since it said minimal rinsing may be needed all I did was dump the whole bag in a bucket, added some water, and dumped out the slightly cloudy water. Added it to my tank, filled the tank slowly and turned on my filter. I will admit it was really cloudy...but only for about 45 minutes. I let it sit over night and then added plants and deco.

So far I have not had any problems with it. I have a peacock eel that likes to burrow and it doesn't stir up any "residue" or make the water cloudy.

I'll be buying another few bags off Amazon in the next few week for a new tank.

My advice, if it clouds your water just be patient and let the filter clear it up. A lot of people want it perfectly clear right off the bat so they can add fish and get that going, just relax and let it do its thing.

Buy CaribSea Midnight Black Floramax Premium Aquarium Substrate Now

I bought FloraMax from my local Petsmart, I wanted to set up a 10-gal shrimp aquarium with live plants, using a black plant-growing substrate, and this was the only stuff they had on the shelves that was the right color. I tried to wash it as thoroughly as I could before putting it into the aquarium, but even with pouring bucketfulls of black murky water down the bathroom sink when washing off the substrate, my aquarium still was dark and cloudy for a day before it settled down. Okay, that's kind of expected, so I didn't mind it too much.

After putting the shrimps into the aquarium, I later decided this wasn't a good substrate for a nano shrimp tank (gravel was too big--the gravel pellets were almost as big as they were) and I had a hard time keeping the plants in the gravel, it was ultra hard to plant them because of the large size and light weight of the gravel bits. I emptied out all the shrimps/snails and then took out all the substrate. Immediately the water turned back into a big black murky mess as soon as I started to grab handfuls of the stuff out. I ended up baking all the substrate in the oven to dry it so I could put it into storage, and was astonished by the amount of silt that was still there, even after everything I had done. Discovered that the large-sized pieces of substrate just crumble into smaller pieces if you crush it between your fingers, no wonder I couldn't get the stuff clean.

A better product is Eco-Complete Plant Substrate, put that in my 29-gal a few months ago and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out, no washing required, looks great, and the plants are doing well. Buy it instead of the FloraMax.

*warning: newb w/ aquarium and plants...read following comments accordingly*

Reworked my 3 gallon betta tank today by removing Oscar, all live plants, decorations, and white gravel (the hell was I thinking?) and replacing it with the Floramax substrate. No....I didn't rinse it first. Yes it was very, very dirty/cloudy (couldn't see bottom) but I expected this. I added substrate, plants, then water mixed with the clarifying agent and turned on my bio-sponge filter. It took a total of about 45 minutes of filtration on high to attain a damn near crystal clear tank. Once I checked the temperature and water parameters, I gently added Oscar and his two pet Oto algae eaters. Oscar has been buzzing about, as much as a betta will, checking out his tank and seems relatively content. The two otos have darted around and settled into their manic cleaning mode.

I'll edit this in a few days just to make sure everything shakes out well. So far, very good.

Como Aquarium Fish Tank Blue Silicone Mini Sea Anemone Ornament

Como Aquarium Fish Tank Blue Silicone Mini Sea Anemone OrnamentIt is super soft and moves great in the light current my little filter makes. Glows under the blue LED light setting I have as well. The best part though is my Betta LOVES this thing. He swims along the tentacles and rests on top of it and even tries to snuggle inside it! So glad I found something else I could add to my Betta tank for him to interact with and enjoy! A "MUST BUY" for Betta lovers!

I didn't realize how lovely such a simple aquatic decorative item could be, small as it was, but it added to my tank's colorful decor, and the fish took to it immediately. They were curious, attracted and often "hang-out" near this ornament.

I love it! Please note, however, that the "small" is much smaller than it appears on the webpage, despite the fact that the size dimensions are included in the product description's details. Small is great for up to a 5G tank, but bigger than that, definately go for the medium, or large. And choose a couple vibrant colors. They are worth it, for the price, and as I said, the fish LOVE these little "anemone" ornaments.

This has got to be one of the best things I have ever gotten for my Bettas. I currently own two bettas and got this blue Anemone as well as the orange one for my other fish. My bettas love it! They both will play in them and swim through them repeatedly. One of my bettas actually sleeps in his every night. The silicone is sturdy and doesn't come off when in the water. I have had mine for 2 months now and they are still lasting. Well worth the price tag, highly recommend it.

great way to set up something new into your tank. This is a cute little guy. the site really should tell you what size it is, as you may have limited size in your tank. This one is small and can be used in almost any size tank.

Want Como Aquarium Fish Tank Blue Silicone Mini Sea Anemone Ornament Discount?

PROS:

Totally realistic! The silicone anemone appendages sway with the water and really trick the eye into believing it is alive.

Great hit of color in a tank. The blue is especially gorgeous, as it has little pops of red on the tips.

Easy to install and stays put. Does not float up to the top or any other such nonsense.

CONS:

While I was thrilled at this decoration when I first put it into my son's dragon/volcano-themed fish tank, I later grew irritated when after a few months it turned greenish-yellow on its appendages....uggggh!

I tried cleaning it, but to no avail. I think the dyes in the fish food discolored the silicone. Our tank runs pretty clear, thanks to the awesome AquaClear Power FilterAquaClear 70 Power Filter 110 V, UL Listed (Includes AquaClear 70 Carbon, AquaClear 70 Foam & AquaClear 70 BioMax, so cleanliness was not a factor.

Would I buy it again?

No. I paid too much for a decoration that just didn't last long enough.

For a cheaper price...maybe.

Actually, I am considering using silicone toys Puffer Ball 4 inch, 3 Tonecommonly used as party favors. They look EXACTLY like this anemone and are only a buck vs. the nearly ten dollars I paid for this short-lived anemone. My only issue is I am not sure if they are safe for fish.

Aquarium Led Bubble Wand

Marineland Ml90488 LED Bubble Curtain, Blue, 6 LED, 8-1/2 by 1-1/8-InchThis LED bubble wand is smaller in length than the one that is being replaced. But it looks fantastic, and hasn't been dismantled yet by my turtles who like to ninja everything I put in there. One thing to note for people who aren't aware, you will need your own air jet and hose which is not provided, all it comes with is the wand and AC adapter. Still, great product that really looks good.

i got this wand for my 10g aquarium because one of my fish is a black ghost knife fish, and is nocturnal. the actual description from the original sellers is that the blue was "moonlight blue." sounds perfect for a nocturnal fish. the lights however, ended up being a lil too bright. but he seems okay with it so far. hasn't caused stress to the point of ick yet either. main point is, these lights are pretty bright and shoot light everywhere, not just one direction. so if you're looking for something for a 20g+ tank, this is perfect. bubbles are awesome by the way.

I love these. They are awesome in the tank. My fish love them and so do I. At night time they make my tank look like a beautiful underwater sea of magic. My mom has one now too she loves it.

Or rather they fail too. Installation was a breeze and it really makes the tank look great, unfortunately the suckers on the base do not hold for more than a couple days. Even with razor-blading the glass bottom (I have this mounted at the bottom of my tank facing upwards) and cleaning the bottom of the suckers it just doesn't hold.

This is likely due to the added buoyancy from the air in the tubing but I wish they had used larger suckers to ensure the wand stays put over time. I'll likely replace the suckers or rig up some weight on the wand itself to keep it in place.

But for the money it is VERY difficult to beat.

Two Little Fishies AquaStik Underwater Epoxy Putty Red Coralline 114g 4 oz.

Two Little Fishies AquaStik Underwater Epoxy Putty Red Coralline 114g 4 oz.It's a good product I have used many times. There are others out there that are both cheaper and more expensive. They all pretty much work the same. Take a bit off the stick, mix it well, then use it. It works under water in and is reef safe. I keep mainly sps and have never had a problem with a coral after using this. Do not mix it under water. Mix it out of the water then stick your rock or coral to the other rock and let it cure. This product does take about an hour or more to fully cure under water. More expensive epoxies cure faster, so if your doing a big job with large rock I would suggest maybe looking at a different product, but this does work well for coral and frags.

Color isn't a big deal to me. It is available in grey or red. Neither one looks like coraline so don't expect it to match. The purple might not stick out as much from a distance but to a trained eye and reefer you will see either one just as much as the other. If it's a big deal I would maybe use a razor and cut some lines into it so it's not just a smooth surface holding two things together. It is also possible to push small rocks or bits of crushed coral into the epoxy to help conceal it a bit more as well if you feel like you want to do something like that. That would also help coralline maybe grow on it a little faster, but in the end everything turns purple in a reef tank so I don't bother or fuss with it too much.

Love this adhesive! The best thing to adhere coral to rock in salt water tank. So much better than using superglue just to have it come unstuck a few days later.

This epoxy works very well and is great once it hardens. The color is not going to match red coralline perfectly put it is a nice change from the white.

It does not stick well even if the surface is dried and only slightly damp so it takes some practice making that work.

Pondmaster 02910 Ultra Violet Light Pond Water Clarifier 10watt

Pondmaster 02910 Ultra Violet Light Pond Water Clarifier 10wattThis UV filter works, but there are some strange issues with it. Hopefully my review will help other customers avoid the hassles I went through with this item.

The inlet/outlet barbs on this filter are supposedly sized to fit 3/4 inch tubing; however, oddly, the barbs are significantly smaller than they should be, so tubing goes on, hangs loosely, and then falls off if you move the unit around much.

In my experience with other pond products with barbs, barbs are designed to hold tubing quite snugly, without requiring the use of clamps (this is especially important if you have to open up the unit every month or so to do the recommended cleanings of the interior light cover, where clamps would be a major pain). There are no threads or any other way of securing tubing to this UV filter.

The issue of how to attach tubing to the unit caused a great deal of confusion for me when I first got the product. I took it to several local pond supply stores to see if they could help me figure out if I was doing something wrong. The pond supply folks were as puzzled as I was about why the barbs did not fit standard 3/4 inch tubing. We tried other sized tubing, but nothing fit properly.

I emailed the customer support people at Danner Manufacturing (the company that makes these filters). Their staff were entirely unhelpful. Eventually, the best they could manage in response to my request for instructions on how to attach the unit to tubing (and ultimately to my Pondmaster pump/filter unit), was to send me a sketch showing a UV filter attached to a pump (but no instructions or diagrams on how this was actually accomplished). This sketch was supposed to demonstrate that it was theoretically possible to attach the UV filter to other equipment. When I followed up with several emails asking them for details on -howto attach the tubing, I received a message that they were researching what types of adapters were needed, but then a week went by with no further communication from them despite an additional query from me. At that point, in frustration, I gave up on receiving any kind of customer support.

As the algae was continuing to build up in my pond and I was increasingly concerned for my fish, I decided to just try running the UV filter with the tubing loosely attached just to see if that would somehow be good enough. Lo and behold, when the UV filter is running, even if loosely connected to the pump via 3/4 inch tubing, a certain amount of suction occurs, allowing the tubing to stay connected (as long as you don't bump the UV filter or the tubing).

What this means is that, if you have a person to help you (holding the pump and any other attached equipment while you hold the UV filter and it's tubing), you can lay all of your equipment into the pond carefully, being sure nothing gets disconnected in the process, and then turn on the pump and UV filter. If everything stays connected, when you turn on the UV filter and pump, everything should stay connected -as long as you don't have big, heavy fish that like to nudge the tubing or any significant currents where your equipment is located.

Personally, I find this to be a tedious process (which will have to be repeated each time I clean the UV light cover and/or my filter), and I don't appreciate that there were no instructions about any of this included with the product. I also did not find Danner Manufacturing to be at all helpful in resolving this issue.

However, once I figured it out... the UV filter does do its job wonderfully! The pond is free of algae after about a week of run-time. I just wish I had known how to solve the installation issues and hadn't wasted so much time trying to figure this out.

This is the 10 watt Supreme Pondmaster Submersible UV Clarifier, model 29101. When water is circulated through it, the water is exposed to ultraviolet light that is capable of killing both suspended algae and bacteria. I have used several of these units in both marine aquaria (outside the tank) and in my pond (in the water) and they have performed perfectly.

The unit contains a tubular UV bulb protected by a slightly larger quartz sleeve. Danner says that the design causes the water to flow through the unit in a circular manner but I have never cut one open to see how that might be accomplished.

Build quality is excellent and I have had no problems with leakage of water either into the interior quartz sleeve and UV tube or out onto the floor.

It is important to remember that the quartz sleeve will gradually become partially occluded by deposits on the outside surface. For best results, you should disassemble the clarifier periodically (monthly is about right) and remove and clean the sleeve. Disassembly is quick and easy but be careful with both the sleeve and the tube when you do it.

The clarifier works well but beware: Danner advertises that the 10-watt model will be adequate for ponds up to 1500 gallons. This is extremely optimistic. If you begin with a pond that is absolutely clean and algae free, the 10-watt model might keep it that way, if used in conjunction with a good filter. However, if you are installing the clarifier to deal with a pre-existing problem, you should probably not count on it working well for ponds over 500 gallons. My pond is 650 gallons and the 10-watt device is barely adequate. There is relatively little difference (about $30) in the cost of the 10-watt and 20-watt models and using more UV than you need doesn't harm anything and adds at most a few pennies to you electricity bill. If in doubt, go with the 20-watt model.

Also, the specification calls for a 700gph pump (1800gph for the 20-watt model). Do not think that you can improve performance by using a larger pump. You probably won't hurt the device but the water will pass through it too quickly for the UV to kill the nasties. A pump that is too small just reduces the speed with which the entire volume of the pond passes through the clarifier.

One last caution: DON'T LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE UV TUBE WHEN IT IS ILLUMINATED NO MATTER WHETHER IT IS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE QUARTZ SLEEVE. YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR EYES IF YOU DO SO.

This U V light system works amazingly well. Simple to hook up and use and very effective, cleaned up our pond water even faster than I expected. Our neighbors that have fish ponds are still cleaning their foam/mesh filters at least once a day and their ponds are still green. I'm cleaning my pad filter once every three to four days now and our pond is crystal clear. Very impressive that something this simple would work so well. I would highly recommend this pondmaster UV water filter to anyone.

I'm using this in a small pond that uses a 1/2 whiskey barrel to create a waterfall. I simply put the filter in the whiskey barrel and inserted the tube from the put into one end (it slide right in). I didn't need to another tube on the outtake. It has been running for about 2 wks it has noticeably reduced the algae.

SeaClear Rectangular Aquarium Combo (Clear)

SeaClear Rectangular Aquarium Combo50 gallon acrylic tank was delivered quickly, and very well packed with cushioning. The light fixture only contains one fluorescent bulb, which is just barely enough light to show plants and fish. If I hadn't positioned aquarium near window, the plants would not have gown well. I recommend either adding another bulb, or replacing the fixture with something that puts out more light.

It's real tall, 20 inches, I thought it was going to be 18. The front and sides are all 1 piece, with slightly rounded corners and the back corners are welded to the back piece so it has square back corners. This design make for one continuous view like some of their bowed front tanks but with a more convenient shape. It's frameless so the have a top piece welded to support the piece from bowing or separating as it ages. The free "light" is junk. I tossed mine in the garbage. They should save some costs and skip it. It's 10-20 cents worth a plastic and a $10 (full retail) expand-a-light fixture held in by to cheap plastic grommets. It's just barely 36" inches so a 36" Odyssea light (on 3 separate timers) mounts real low since it fit a bit (1/4") longer and the light will slip off the support brackets in the upper position. I'd suggest you consider a 30" light (24" will not properly light it if you expect to use plants) if you can find one or just get their longer 4 foot tank. It has 4 cut outs in the top. 2 for lighting and two for filters etc. But I'm using Fluval underwater units (one in "plant" mode near the heater and one in Venturi mode at the other end) since it's in a room where conversations occur. I'll post some picture later on. It's just finished cycling and I'm still installing more plants. It arrives with a protect piece of paper on the bottom which easily peels off. Remember to remove it before filling the tank. Needs furniture that can support 500 pounds by the time you add substrate material and water even though the tank itself is VERY light. They used 1/4" thick acrylic for all sides. The tank has sturdy "feel" to it when handled. I used 3 different rock sizes to create a more natural environment. The baby Platy fish love to hide in between some of the medium "pea" sided rocks placed over the smaller plant friendly substrate material.

Tropical Flakes - 6 Oz. Fish Food

Tropical Flakes - 6 Oz. Fish FoodOkay, as another reviewer has said, the flakes seem to be thin and bread up easily. I purchased this product for feeding fry and it's working great for that. The flakes may break up and the product may sink faster than other more expensive brands, yet my fish seem to love it and they devour it swiftly. It doesn't need to hold up for long because it doesn't last for long once it's in the tank. For feeding to fry either crushed up or mixed with water it works just fine and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

The flakes are well packaged and my fish certainly like them. They are however very thin and as such they break up very easily. It also seems as though the water turns yellow with this product. I will admit that my tanks are quite overcrowded currently and that may be a factor. The product is worth a try and is better than a different product I bought online.

Update 16 May 2013

I am using the product only for my small fish. I was correct in assuming the flakes would break up very quickly. I put a couple of oz in an empty container and the flakes quickly break up to a very small size. I would not plan on using this to feed anything but small fish. If that is your intention, you will be happy. I have not had any more issues with the water turning yellow, but I am using very small quantities now.

Microbe Lift 10.5-Pound Pond Barley Straw Pellets 10BSPP10.5

Microbe Lift 10.5-Pound Pond Barley Straw Pellets 10BSPP10.5I have a small frog pond with a stream going through the front of our lake property, this product has done an A1 job of controlling the algae for 3 years now.

I apply the pellets 3xyear. Very effective and safe.

Within 1 week my fish pond was clearing up. A great product to use to prevent string algae from growing in your pond. Safe and does not harm fish or plant life.

Fluval Foreground Rock Aquarium Ornament

Fluval Foreground Rock Aquarium OrnamentWhile the picture looks nice, when you actually get the item you don't even have to look close to see all the white blobs of glue that they used to glue the green plants to the rock. I am not just picking either. They are huge blobs that the picture doesn't show because they made sure to take a snapshot from a distance. When you look at it from a distance in my aquarium it is ok...but the closer you get the more you see the glue. Come on people, there is glue out there that drys clear...put a little bit more effort into your items you make and sell. Looks good from a distance...but very poor quality and little effort with the glue choice.

The quality of the product isnt that great. You can see the white glue that was used to fit this together and that doesnt look too good when you view this from outside the tank. I took it off after 3 or 4 weeks because it didnt fit the overall design of the tank

I haven't used artificial decor in my tank before, but I changed the fish I'm keeping and I needed a new look for the tank. I've had this in the tank for over a month, now, and my fish adapted well. The water quality hasn't changed after adding the resin/plastic decorative pieces, so would recommend this to anyone as safe decor to add to your tropical tank.

I got it last week. It looks cheap due to the globs of glue all over the rock, but underwater it looks decent.

Tug-O-Rope Flying Rope Duck Dog Toy 18", Blue

Tug-O-Rope Flying Rope Duck Dog Toy 18', BlueMy jackrussel/chihuahua mix Sam is a terror on toys. He loves the squeakers and the tuggers and this is best of both worlds. I have come to accept that no toy is indestructible to my Sam so I now look for toys he love even when they are in shreds. This is one of them. He loves tugging and fetching his duck, even when he has the insides torn out or the rope chewed off. I buy him a new one now and then always have one large and one small in my house and he doesn't care if they are scraps of what used to be a duck so I leave the bits until they are too small for me to throw or tug. I love this toy and so does Sam!

Looks rugged and strong but my boxer was able to destroy it with in one hour. Stuffing and squeeky pulled out in no time. By day 2 all that is left is the rope and that is almost frayed. Not for dogs with strong jaw or bite. Disappointed the dog really liked it but it didn't last.

Our dog had it ripped to shreds and all the stuffing out within a few hours. He is not crazy with it, we hadn't even played tug-o-war with it yet, just fetch. Now it is just the rope with a few pieces hanging off of it. If you're looking for a one time toy then it's worth it, if you are expecting it to last much longer than a day try something else.

I bought this for my one year old Cane Corso Mastiff....this is his second tug-o-rope duck. The first one lasted approx 6 months until he puled out the rope part. It's his favorite toy and he carries it all over the house with him. I'd say it's fairly durable if you have a pet who's out of the aggressive chewing phase. Otherwise the outer cloth layer tears and the stuffing comes out....which seems like it would be a choking hazard for a small dog. Its size is appropriate for a large dog (my Mastiff's approx 100 lbs). The duck's body has a squeaker which he loves.

I should have bought two of these.

My little Bichon LOVES this toy! She carries it all around the house with her, and sleeps with her head on it!! This is our second one the first had been so "loved" that it had been sewn together several times! Decided to get her a new one when the tail finally gave it up and came off! Not sure what she likes about this toy, but it is definitely her favorite over many others!!
