I am very happy that I purchased. It was a great compliment to the quality of the water. I now use every product from Dr.Tim's without the need to consult local store. Easy directions to follow with results.

This is supposed to be live bacteria acting like a flocculant. So maybe I had the bad luck of receiving a dead batch.

Adding Clear-Up to aid in the removal of fine particulate matter in mildly cloudy water and adding the same amount of water had exactly the same effect. Either the bacteria were all dead, or this only works in extremely cloudy water, or this product is a total dud.

I've been using Seachem Clarity for quite a few years now and yet has to see any negative effects of "harmful" chemicals. And Seachem Clarity actually works reducing mildly or heavily clouded water to crystal clarity in a few hours. Repeated applications of Clear-Up over a three day period only managed to increase the cloudiness of my mood.

Sorry Dr Tim. I either got a dead batch of bacteria or your team might need to return to the drawing board on this one.

One the other hand your Waste-Away product reducing organic waste build up appears to work quite well.

Squeaky Dudes Hang Loose Rubber Dog Toy

This is my dog's very favorite toy. He's a super destructive chewer that LOVES anything squeaky. I cannot give him any kind of plush/fabric toys period as they're gone in a few minutes. I've never found another toy that he hasn't immediately ripped the squeaker right out of besides the squeaky dude. Granted, he immediately removes the two hands upon receiving it but after that he continues to play with it. The squeaker sort of started to fall in on the first one he had after months and months of use so he's on his second one now. I just cut the hands off of the second one before I even gave it to him so I didn't have to worry about him swallowing pieces. You can't beat the price for how long it lasts.

Ok, there are very few dog toys that are truly indestructable.

That being said, I do keep one eye on my dog when she is playing with them.

She chewed the thumb off the hand when my other eye was busy. LOL

The thumb did come out in her POOP ! So I can not give a thumbs UP, LOL,

I am better off buying her New balls than a ball with hands . The squeaker

has not come out or been an issue. She does not really want to retrieve with

this toy, just prefers to chew on it because of the small hands on the sides.

I bought this to seal a waterfall that I had rebuilt. It was applied over concrete and had I used pond sealing foam to fill in some of the cracks. It goes on dark brown, but dries black.

I tried foam and bristle brushes and it definitely goes on easier with a standard paintbrush; especially if it's going on a rough surface.

This is the 3rd. one I had to replace do to water leaking into the the unit. The cord grip seals at the cord but around the outside where the cord enters the transformer it allows water to get in. The transformer is potted with a black tar mixture, but it is poorly done and water gets into the electronics and shorts it out. At about $100.00 each this becomes expensive. Buying just the raw transformer means you have to make some kind of container to put it in. Since this option still costs about $65 you don't save very much. If I could buy the raw transformer for around $20 (which is all it should cost), then it would pay to make a container to put it in. For five years I've been using an old Gamma transformer by Current USA but it seems that it is no longer made.

I do like this 40W Replacement Transformer as it is easy to replace existing bad-order transformers such as my 120W Aqua UV system which contained a three wire system that went from my lamp holder containing three 40W lamps up to the 120W transformer box. I have replaced the 120W transformer twice, replaced the wiring harness twice in the previous 20 years then decided on going the single 40W transformer route which was about six years ago. I had the 120W Aqua UV system since 1984. I also have a small pond containing a 40W Aqua UV system that I also use this type of a transformer which gave me the idea of using the single 40W replacement transformer.

I used to have four transformers that were connected to one spider shaped configuration that would tear at its plastic encasings (exposed wires) and was a pain in the neck to loosen and take off to clean the quartz sleeves and UV lights. This configuration where each transformer is independently plugged into the power source and separated from an attachment that connected all to one power source makes it simple to disconnect and it is "cleaner" looking cosmetically. If one transformer goes down you can replace it and not worry how the others are affected by its performance since they are all plugged into power source separately. I would highly recommend this product for your pond needs. I bought a large metal fuse box to enclose all of them to protect them from weather elements although they are made weather-proof already, I wanted to consolidate the tidiness of the cords. My cory catfish were losing all of their fins and no matter what I did and no matter where I put them, their fins would not grow back. I have been using algae wafers in my fish feeding routine for 15 or so years. I have found a little algae is typically very healthy for the fish not to mention the fish enjoy the tablets tremendously. New Life Spectrum is the brand I primarily buy from and the algae wafers are no exception. I trust New Life Spectrum and will continue to buy their products until I am given a reason to switch.

The wafers are a bit thicker than many of the wafers I have used in the past. The thickness makes the wafer harder to break apart but easier to keep whole when the wafer begins to soften in the tank. Both the omnivores and carnivores in my tank will greedily accept the wafers without prejudice. My current tank has some big cichlids and catfish and I have proudly watched them grow to almost unmanageable sizes. The New Life Spectrum Algae wafer has a good balance of nutrients and fish love to eat them, as long as those two criteria are met, I am going to use this product.

I recently purchased these LED lights at a local pet store(had I known they were on amazon I would have saved a few $), They fit very nicely over my 10 gallon fish tank, my fish do like it, slight shimmering effect which is pretty cool, I really like the moon lights for night time! As the other reviewer mentioned one thing that lead me to get this light over other brands is the ability to add other light strips to it, with other color options, pretty cool; and I may do that in the future, but for now the light works great!

This fits perfectly on a 10g tank. i have this on a 10g frog tank, and it supplies somewhat decent lighting. it comes with a single bulb, which has 1 switch and 1 power wire. even if you get a second or third bulb it is still using one switch. the problem with that is you cant put it on a day and night timer to have it simulate dawn/dusk automatically.

really this needs another strip of bulbs from the manufacturer, but i think 3 would be too much in a 10g though

I have a 95 gallon tank and have went through several of these whisper 100's to power multiple airstones. At first it blows very strong air through both outlets. Over time one or both of the outlets stops blowing air, or blows it so weakly that a bubble or 2 might come out of the airstone. These are made so cheaply and I am about to complain to the company. I have went through 4 in the last year. I guess the diaphrams over time just conk out. I am awaiting a few rena 400 pumps and hope they are more reliable.

I have a 55 gallon aquarium but it is deep, so I needed a powerful air pump replacement when my unit failed. I got overnight shipping on this, because my fish could not wait. When I took it out of the box and hooked it in, it was VERY loud-but it had good aeration. On the second day, there was no output from one of the ports; and on the morning of the third day there was no output at all. But it had finally gotten quiet!! I placed another overnight order and got my original brand of pump and have had no problems. The whisper pump will not be recommended by me to anyone. The box was well packed and undamaged, so obviously the QA at the factory was not completed.

I have 10 of these running sponge filters in my fish store. If you restrict these pumps in anyway, such as using a valve, the diaphragms will rupture. If you run them wide open they last for years. You can wreck one in minutes by simply turning a valve off. The cheep diaphragms can't handle any back pressure. I'm guessing the Chinese never tested them that way and went ahead and made 1,000,000 to sell in the US.

Good pump if don't restrict it.

You get what you pay for...

I purchased the Whisper 100 about three weeks ago to drive both tubes on an undergravel filter in a 30 gal tank. I was replacing a Whisper 40 that wasn't able to drive two tubes. The 100 was noticeably louder than the 40, but still OK in my living room. You could tell it was there, but you could tune it out. Until a couple of days ago. The whisper turned into a rattling hum on the left side. Adjusting the airflow made no difference. I had to disconnect the tube. That did the trick, until today when the right side started going south. So I unplugged it and now have two separate pumps (a whisper 40 and some other tiny one I got at Walmart) running the two tubes. Both of them together are quieter than the 100 was when it first came out of the box.

I give it a 2 instead of a 1, because I could probably send it in and get it fixed, but at this price it's just not worth the trouble.

Rena Air 200 Air Pump

This air pump works but it pretty regularly starts making a very loud noise as if it is revving up an unseen engine before the green flag comes down. Unfortunately, it won't stop making this noise until you pick it up, look it over for some hint about why the air pump sounds like an experimental music festival, and then put it back down. Even if you put it in the exact same spot, the Rena Air 200 seems satisfied because it will return to the quiet hum...for a half-hour or so.

I gave it to Goodwill who will hopefully help it find use some place out of ear shot.

I've owned my Rena 200 now for 6+ years and am VERY happy. It's so quiet--almost silent. It is just now starting to loose some of its original power, though still performing well enough for my 30 gallon tank. I'll be replacing the diaphram with the rebuild kit and be ready to go for another run--maybe another 6 years. Great pump. The other reviews which mention the noise are NOT what I have experienced--like I said, running 6+ years now and all super quiet!

High quality pump that can be adjusted from zero to full output. I'm using it for a bring shrimp grow out container so it is tuned very low. The pump isn't completely quiet and will output a high pitched hum which is probably outside of the hearing frequency range for many adults, however if you can hear it placing the pump inside a cabinet will squelch the sound.

Work as intended. They will need to be cut down to use with the Phosban 150 model, but doing it is easy. Just measure the size holes needed, and cut along the grid to get it perfect every time.

It gives a great flow for bio pellets, or stuff of that style, but make sure you use the sponges if you are using a GFO media as these create too much of a flow and are not fine enough to keep the media in the chamber.

This filter does what it says. Before using this, however, you should first run the Phosphate and the Nitrate filters for a day each. This brings the levels down to "manageable" levels without using up the Tri X. Remove them and store for later use in an emergency situation. The Tri X will then maintain the levels for a long time. Rena 721 Filstar XP2 Canister Filter

I have a 100 gallon tank and I paid 500.00 for a wet/dry system that everyone swore would be my last and best filter. Well after a year of loud draining noises and yellow water I ditched it and put on 2 of the XP2's. All I can say is WOW!!!! After only 9 hours my water is crystal clear! I was so used to the yellow tinge in the water I forgot what clear water looked like! My wet dry was rated for a 200 gallon tank and I changed the media religously! It pales in comparison to the XP2's! And the XP2's along with a year supply of filter media cost less than half of the Wet/Dry system! I am sold on the XP2! They are virtually noiseless too!

I did a lot of research when I was trying to decide on a canister filter for my 55-gallon aquarium, and saw a plethora of conflicting information. Eheim was supposedly the best brand, but people described it at "not user-friendly", and they can be a bit pricey. Others looked too cheaply-made to be worth the cost, and I didn't want to worry about replacing parts.

Eventually I settled on the Rena Filstar XP2 canister, and I've never been happier. It's reliable, quiet, and my water is crystal-clear (and that's saying something, since we have very heavy lime in my area). Any time I do a gravel-vac or move ornaments around, the XP2 has my water clear again within a few hours. Even when I slack off on cleaning the media, it keeps my aquarium balanced, runs smoothly, and maintains water circulation and current.

The only problem I've had was a defective hose clamp, so now I have a metal clamp there instead of the black one that came with it. I suggest having at least one on-hand so you don't have to go back to the store when setting up your filter. It also apparently has an automatic shutoff feature if you're silly and let the hose get crimped, like I did. That's the only time it ever ceased to function, which is far preferable to the motor burning out.

Priming this filter is a breeze, as are cleaning it and setting it to work again. The media lasts quite a while, and the only things not included are the Bio-Chem Stars. Definitely worth the money, especially if you're new to canister filters.

I've been using canister filters on my smaller tanks (20-55g) for the past decade and the RENA XP2 is the most impressive by far.

APPEARANCE

The kit was very neatly packaged. The filter itself is definitely not a real "looker", but it certainly has very clean lines. I expected some burrs on the plastic pieces, but there were none to be found. What else can I say about a filter that likely will be hidden away beneath a cabinet or behind the aquarium?

SETUP

It's ridiculous how easily the filter assembled. The media baskets are very practical and easy to manage, plenty of room for whatever you choose to filter with. The ONLY aspect I would consider potentially difficult was fitting the hoses to the rigid tubing -easily remedied with a very light film of petroleum jelly, emphasis on "light". Once the clamp is in place it's nearly impossible to move the hose let alone pull it completely off the tubing. The instructions are clear and concise and the visuals so explicit the text is almost unnecessary.

OPERATION

I am not exaggerating when I say the filter generates only a whisper of noise. My wife wondered whether it was actually functioning until I opened the cabinet and she leaned over to listen. Amazing, considering the volume of water it's filtering. My water is crystal clear, well-balanced and the aquarium's occupants are healthy and robust -testimony to how well the filter is functioning.

MAINTENANCE

I've never had another canister filter so easily maintained. Flip, pull, pop some clips and "voila" easy access to everything. I can change any media and swap filter pads all in less than 10 minutes. I'm so spoiled I wish I'd never have to see another wet-dry filter as long as I live.

You really can't go wrong with this one. Two thumbs way up.

I have had this filter running on my 25 gallon tank for about 2 months now. It's more filter than I need for the size tank I have, but I have a few more fish than the tank is rated for. It keeps everything clean and fresh. The fiter is quiet and easy to clean. I really like the baskets you can put different filtering media into. Overall, a great filter.

One issue to note if you buy this filter: fry can get sucked into it and not die. I opened up my filter last night and noticed six mollie fry in the bottom. I was shocked that they could live in the filter they must have been in there for about two weeks or so given that I hadn't seen any in the tank in that long. Just an FYI.

I ordered this due to the nice large 24" on the box, assuming it would take a standard 24" fluorescent bulb. This is not the case. The bulb inside of the box was only 18" in length. I then attempted to see about returning the product, but the return window had already expired (I had not unpacked it within the time period because I was collecting other items to use on a new enclosure for a pet that I had not yet purchased, and when I purchased the animal I unpacked everything then to set it up) and I was extremely disappointed that the enclosure was not compatible with 24" bulbs (I purchased this intentionally for 24" bulb use because I have three 24" bulbs sitting around that have never been opened before).

As for the food, Marvin really likes his Hikari pellets, so I'm keeping the pouch as an emergency supply, in case I run out.
