Do not be fooled by price. I got what I paid for. It lasted about 9 months and most of that time was the summer and it was hardly on. Now that its colder the thermostat would only come on if I turned the knob all the way up to the highest setting and even then it would kick off. The water is maintaining 65 degrees. I bought two of these at the same time so put in the new one and that is working but will probably get less than a year out of that one as well.

As the other reviewer said the lifetime warranty is useless. I paid $9 for the heater and they want $10 to send it back. I am basically just buying another heater from them.

I will stick with a visi-therm or aqueon as I have those running in my other tanks with no problems.

I purchased this heater for my brand new 10 gallon aquarium from my local fish store. He began selling these after Visi-therm and their stealth heaters began to not hold up. His selling feature was the price and the life-time guarantee.

Upon first introducing it to the tank, it appeared to work, but I did not have a thermometer yet, so there was no way to tell. I left it at the initial setting of 76 degrees to cycle the tank. The tank glass felt warm, so I assume it was working. After 1-1/2 weeks, I bought a digital thermometer (the same as the one in my community tank). The tank was only 73 degrees. I checked the new thermometer against the old one and they measured the same temperature within a few 1/10's of a degree.

After turning the unit up continuously throughout the evening, I could heat the 10 gallon tank no higher than 75 degrees. This heater definitely did not work.

The guarantee, if you want to call it that, is almost worthless. You must send a copy of your receipt and $10 to the manufacturer, who will then send you another unit. That's more than 1/2 the original cost. More like buying one for retail, and then getting a lifetime supply at wholesale cost.

All I want is a heater that is reliable I'm not concerned about guarantees. Guarantees don't heat the tank reliable heaters do. This heater has left me in a lurch.

I have this heater in my 55 gallon tank, and it keeps the water at 80 degrees consistently. However, the heater is set at 89 degrees (close to the supposed maximum). So, it works perfectly if you ignore the gauge, and use an independent thermometer.

Bought this heater because my fishes got ich and had to do a treatment for them, I thought I made a bad choice based on the price I paid but it really worked well for me. The temperature was accurate and it was durable enough until my Pacus got bigger, they would swim by it and smash it into the glass and it wouldn't break. They got the upper hand evevtually, I saw pieces of glass at the bottom of the tank and I wasn't surprised at all. Overall it was a great heater and I'm planning on buying another one soon.

I bought this for my 29 gallon tank because the very small heater I had was barely keeping up with the cold temperatures of winter. Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy 48 in. x 18 in.

I would not say that the Perfecto glass is all that perfect. One thing the description fails to mention is that it comes in multiple sections to fill each of the sections of the top of the aquarium. That is fine, except that the separate pieces do not fit properly into their positions on the aquarium. Each panel was approximately a half inch (5/8") too wide. I think it would be helpful if Marineland provide all of the different dimensions of this product, not just the total size for the aquarium it fits. 48"x18" does not accurately describe it. It is actually two separate panels that are both roughly 22.5"x18". I used a glass cutter to shorten the pieces... something I would not recommend.

Beyond sizing, the glass cover is actually a good quality product. The hinge is very firmly in place and not inclined to slide apart like others I have seen. It is easy to add and adjust the plastic section at the back for concealing gaps between the filters and other items hanging off the back of the tank.

Quick and efficient customer service, product arrived as described on website. Would be more than willing to do service with them again .

This glass top fits perfectly on my 75 gallon by Marineland. I would recommend getting whatever glass top thats made by your tank manufacturer. This particular set is a great fit and looks much better than the traditional canopy. I recommend the Aqueon dual flourescent light to couple with this for a sleek look. My boyfriend and I had rescued a Comet Goldfish from Walmart. He was lethargic, wasn't eating, and after a couple nights his tail disintegrated to half its original size. Loving Pets Pure Buffalo Meaty Femur Knuckle Dog Treat, 2-Pack

My 8 month old puppy can't get enough of chewing & most treats don't last long. This doesn't seem like it will ever wear out, but reason i gave it 4 stars is because it has a strong odor. Best to be used outdoors at first until it is more worn.

JBJ 24 Gallon Nano-Cube Deluxe Aquarium 2X36W Compact Fluorescents & LED Moonlights

I've purchased two of these over the course of 7 years. I replaced the first one I had after 6 years because the remote ballast died and it was more economical to buy a new tank than just a new hood. (JBJ swapped ballasts after some time which required a purchase of both the ballast and hood for older tanks.)

For a saltwater setup, this all-in-one tank is great. You can find third-party nano accessories (protein skimmer, uv light, etc.) and the lighting configuration makes for a bright, beautiful display. I've had zero leakage problems with both my original saltwater tank and the new replacement freshwater setup. The reason I knocked off a star is because replacement parts for the unit (light bulbs, pumps, and if necessary hoods), are not cheap. The good news is that it is unlikely you will have to replace these for some time.

If you're just starting out or are experienced and want a clean nano setup, this is a great tank. Highly recommend.

Edit: Note that if you want to use this tank for freshwater setups, you should swap the bulbs out for something with less intensity, like LED striplights.

I had this tank for about 4 months when it cracked and leaked rushing water all over my floor. It cracked along the front curve of the tank from top to bottom for no reason whatsoever, and at 1 am! Luckily, it gives you a loud glass breaking pop when it breaks save yourself a headache and money and forget nano tanksespecially this jbj model. Aqueon Evolve 4 LED Aquarium Kit, 4 gallons

This arrived from Petco (who also sells through Amazon) within 3 days of ordering.

Pluses:

+ LED lamp with both day and night settings and separate power cord. A benefit so that the light can be hooked up to its own timer.

+ a plastic cover that covers the tank, and a separate cover for the filter area

+ quiet water pump included

Negatives:

the included water pump at its lowest setting still creates a whirlwind of turbulence in the tank. Definitely not working out for my Betta fish. This really isn't a negative fish or coral that do require water movement so YMMV.

The accessories to my tank include a 7" tetra heater which nicely fits inside bank of the tank filter compartment and Eco-Complete substrate. Its not clear if the lumens on the LED is sufficient for plants with moderate demands but time will tell. I am considering either modifying the current water pump or replacing it with a lower flow unit.

This is a great small tank package for all the reasons listed above.

UPDATE Jan 19, 2012***

After much fiddling with the water pump intake and directing the return head to the heater, I have managed to find a calm water flow setting which seems to not upset my Betta. Since my last post, i have placed some marimo moss balls and dwarf hair grass in the tank. The LED seems to be bright enough to sustain plant life which is a good sign. Overall, i am very pleased with this tank.

I would first like to say that I have been keeping fish of all sorts for approximately eight years. I am knowledgeable in their habitats, housing requirements, and the sorts.

Despite other reviews I have seen for this product, it is actually not that bad. Especially for those that either have limited space or are just looking for that "Nano" aquarium.

Some may be skeptical about the lighting for this aquarium as well. As some may know, plants and live corals rely on a sufficient amount of light and light spectrums in order to properly live and grow. And even though LEDs are bright, expensive, and produce nice effects, not all are well suited for the job needed. I can assure you however, that the LEDs included for this kit are intense enough to allow my two live corals (whisker coral and candy cane coral) to continue to do very well. The only main issue, which other have indeed pointed out is the water flow rate coming from the output nozzle. There are two things you can do to adjust this flow and how it affects the water in your tank. One way is adjusting the flow rate via a little slider, located underneath the water pump motor, to a rate that you desire. I currently have mine set to a little under the max. Another way you can control the flow is adjusting the output nozzle itself. With this aquarium, you have the freedom to direct which direction the water flows out. Depending on what fish you have or the setup of your tank you can easily fix this to better suit your needs. I have aimed a little upwards to cause some nice surface tension which not only causes some disturbance on the top of the water, but also helps oxygenate the tank.

In conclusion I feel that this is definitively a great tank for new or experienced aquarium hobbyists. The sump on the back of the tank is a great barrier between what makes your tank run and what you actually want to see. And the LEDs are intense enough to support life that requires a certain amount of light. If you have any questions about my review or about your tank let me know.

I purchased this tank recently, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I have it on a 2'X4' end table and it looks terrific. I don't have fish in it yet as I am allowing it to cycle which is highly recommended for new tanks. The LED lighting is beautiful, it replicates natural underwater lighting and provides enough light for plants. I plan on adding 5 or 6 glofish when cycling is complete.

I would give this tank five stars except it was difficult to find out some things about this aquarium on the Aqueon website. To save you the trouble I'll give you what I found out:

1. Although it is listed as a four gallon aquarium, it will only hold about 2 3/4 gallons of water with plants, a small decoration and about 4lbs. of gravel. Nowhere on the package or website will you find this information. I purchased distilled water in gallon jugs, and that is how much water I put in.

2. It does not come with a heater. Again, this info was not on the package or website. A heater will greatly expand your choices of plants and fish you can use in this aquarium. I purchased the Aqueon mini heater ($15) which fits nicely in the back which hides it from view. This is a nice feature.

3. It also doesn't come with a thermometer which is pretty much necessary to monitor your tank. Small tanks like this are susceptible to temperature fluctuations due to the small amount of water compared to surface area.

4. When I set up the tank, there is no instructions or illustrations of the pump. You must connect the tubes from the pump to the water outlet. I had to search youtube videos to do this correctly.

5. You will not be able to add as many fish as it shows on the packaging, which seems a bit deceptive (I know, it's advertising). 5 or 6 small fish will be the max.

Aside from these oversights (the website and instructions offer little help), this tank has many positives. It is easy to set up; having the pump, filter and heater hidden from view is great and the cover on top is easily accessible as the LED light pivots on its stand. The pump is strong, but I like this as it adds additional movement from the plants. I love the fact that you can (and should) use live plants. I have 2 small onion plants, 2 small frill plants and a small moss ball. It looks great and the motion is an added aesthetic benefit. It looks fantastic already without fish. The filter cartridges are super easy to use and replace. The pump is fairly quiet and you'll hardly notice it is running. The blue lights that simulate nighttime is a nice touch. They also include some fish food and water conditioner. The direction sheet is easy to follow and thorough, aside from the pump and tubing explanation omitted. I enjoy this aquarium already. I would recommend it to anyone, although be aware that a larger tank would be better for beginners as this will require some weekly maintenance.

What can I say, I am a fish addict? I originally had a little 2.5 gallon tank I picked up for $13 new on my desk at work, but it was so small it was difficult to put any filtration into let alone a decent heater.

The nice thing about this little tank is that it has the filter built in and it is SILENT. The only time it ever makes any noise is if a bubble or piece of sand finds its way into the filter. If you turn it on and it makes noise, you just need to rotate the pump a little bit so it isn't rubbing against the side.

The water flow IS a little bit strong, but that can be VERY easily fixed by placing the pump on the lowest setting and putting a small $0.99 filter bag over the outlet. With the filter bag, I can easily keep a little dwarf puffer without much fuss. If you decide to keep a salt water tank (not recommended, but possible) the high flow can be a very good thing.

The light is decent and attractive to look at. I have some chain swords and a marimo growing fairly well in the tank.

The only note that I can give is that the filter is sensitive to sand. If you plan on putting sand in the tank, put a filter bag over the vents of the pump to keep sand out of it.

This is a great little tank. All of my coworkers love it and come check out my fish from time to time.

Tetra Pond Filtration Fountain Kits

This is an excellent product I am currently using it in a 50 gallon round water feature. At first I thought it would be too much power but its perfect the fountains are high quality! Much better then the little 100gph found I had in here before. Its full adjustable. The filter keeps out large debri, the fountain heads are high quality, and it has extra power/ability to run a seperate hose to a small frog that shoots water from its mouth in addition to the fountain itself. I bought this to replace the original system made by Little Giant, which had started to fall apart over the years. This pump is very powerful and the filter is much better that the one on the Little Giant. I've had it in for weeks now and have not had to clean the filter yet ( I also don't have fish in there now which makes a difference).

You have to weight down the filter or it will float, but this is no big problem. I used a small brick on top, but you can also put weights under the filter elements before putting them in which will work just fine.

Overall, it's well worth the money and looks to be very sturdily built.

I put this in my stock tank pond that was a little foggy yesterday, and the water is crystal clear now. Dog Gone Smart Crate Pad

My dog would get very stressed out while in her crate. Since we have gotten this, she has calmed down a lot. Just recently she started going in the crate on her own and laying down on it. It is water proof on the colored side.

Aqueon Ammonia Neutralizer

Yup, I said it, cloth diapers! My son has an extremely high amount of ammonia in his pee, and regular washing wasn't getting it all out of his cloth diapers. I found online as a suggestion to use this fish stuff, as it's safe, and so I bought some. Hydor H2Show Magic World - Gargoyle and Book Decoration Combo Pack

When I saw the Magic World "Hogwarts"-themed background, I just knew I had to have a Harry Potter aquarium! I know these are not officially licensed Harry Potter products, but it's pretty obvious -the background, in particular -what Hydor was going for with this themed set. We purchased the gargoyle and book (Hogwarts: A History, undoubtedly, yes?) and the owl in the tree, as well as the background image, for our 16 gallon bow front aquarium. The products (the gargoyle and the book) arrived loose in their packaging. As they are resin, there was no chipping, though. Both pieces had two large globs of dried glue on the bottoms, which I assume was how they had been originally anchored in the packaging. Prying these dried spots of glue (each around the size of a penny) from the decor was really difficult! I placed the gargoyle and the book in the tank and they look quite nice, especially with the background. The owl piece of decor is almost 12" high, which I did not realize when I ordered it; it's way too big for a 16 gallon tank, so I will be returning the owl (it's an attractive piece, though, for a larger tank). I opted to skip the crystal ball and the rock formation, which was a good choice as the pieces are of good size and the entire set could easily overcrowd a smaller-sized tank. The gargoyle and the book are, obviously, hollow, so there are holes to keep them from floating out of place. Normally one would hide the air holes for aesthetic reasons, but I left the air holes in the book remain slightly above the substrate to provide a refuge for our African dwarf frogs. It works perfectly for this purpose. All in all these are nice pieces of aquarium decor and are perfect for a wizarding or Harry Potter theme (again, I realize these are not officially licensed Harry Potter products; they just happen to match a Harry Potter theme nicely). I will try and upload a picture showing the gargoyle and book in their places. I would recommend these decor items.

These item are nice but the book is really large for my 55 gallon tank and the gargoyle is pretty standard. If would be nicer if I had a bigger tank but there nice.

This is a real nice tank & being glass puts it in a class by itself. It has a great light which is good for reefs or live freshwater plants, the only thing is it could have a better filter, just my opinion, but it left my water cloudy, I put in a canister filter and its now gin clear!. But the over all tank is really nice, I am on here cause I'm buying another one.

I used this aquarium in my college dorm and it was great. The blue light though not too bright was definitely good for plant growth. I only gave it four stars because this aquarium does not come with a lid. I solved the problem by going to a local glass shop and ordering a custom fitted lid.

I really like this little tank. I've just finished setting it up and haven't any fish in it yet, but the tank itself is a little beauty! The lid is easy to remove if you put you finger back behind where the little cut-out for the air hose goes. However there is a little hole at the front of the lid that I think I can drop food in when I feed my little critters so I won't have to be removing the lid that much. I removed one of the perforated areas in the back of the lid (there are two of them) so the top of the little 25w heater can poke out. The color variations are a delight and I'm really pleased I went ahead and purchased this.

EDIT!!!! My tank has been set up now for almost a week. My beta is in there and happy, but, please do not buy this tank. The other reviews that mentioned the faulty light are correct. The light is now shorting out! There is water in the light. The light changes color on it's own, then the light will totally shut off, then back on, then different colors, then off again. Finally I just took the light out and will buy a new tank.

Please note, Amazon was great and tried to help with this situation. They offered a replacement, but I don't want the same tank. They offered a refund if I send the tank back, they have tried in every way possible to rectify this situation, so again, I'm happy I shop on Amazon. But please do not buy this tank, I believe it's dangerous. Water and electricity do not mix well!

The tank is just as advertised. My betta LOVES it! In his half gallon enclosure he was just sitting at the bottom all the time with his fins folded up. In this one, he's always on the move and strutting his stuff. Its really nice to look at and the different lighting modes are neat too. There's no filter so keep an eye on ammonia levels!

UPDATE: I am sorry to say I have to downgrade my initial review. I originally gave this 5 stars but now I cannot. The hood light is the worst design I have ever seen. Its is not remotely waterproof and after 2 months, not only did the nuts and bolts which hold it together rust and break apart, but water can easily get inside, just from minor spatting from the air bubbler. I noticed that the lights were flickering, so I took a look. The unit practically fell apart in my hand due to corroded bolts. There was water inside the bulb assembly. No gaskets or sealed electronics of any sort. Portions of the printed circuit board had its insulation burned away due to arcing. Being somewhat savvy, I was able to repair it, but then had to put a clear plastic condom over it to keep it dry. Just a terrible design.

I just want to share my method for keeping water out of the light. Use petroleum jelly on the seams of the plastic part of the light exposed to water. It's not an accident your lights start to do wierd things. water will get in there if you dont waterproof it. I have a three gallon and a two gallon on the way. They are cool little tanks.

This 2-gallon tank was purchased for my betta, Lashes, and it turned out to be perfect. I love the look of the bubbles, especially under the changing color of the lights, however, I ended up taking the whole thing out, because I wanted to be able to fit a Hagen Elite Underwater Mini Filter, UL Listed, an Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini, 25-Watt, as well as some plants. With the air tube right in the middle of the tank, I would not have been able to fit everything in. Plus, bettas don't need aeration anyway, so I figured she wasn't missing out on much.

One downside of this tank is that there is always condensation around the tank above the water level. I also don't use the feeding hole to feed her. I prefer using the hole to lift the lid with my index finger and feed her that way.

For those who mentioned having a difficult time opening the lid, you can also lift it from the back or wedge the nail of your thumb between the edge of the tank and lid, and then lift.

I read some reviews by others who have said the air pump is too loud. When I had used it during my initial set-up, I had placed the pump on top of a folded piece of paper towel and that actually reduced the noise level.

As others have said, the undergravel filter that comes with the package is not a real filter, so it is pretty much useless in my opinion. It just takes up more space in the tank.

OK, not good.

My daughter wanted a castle for her fish bowl. She picked this one out by the appearance. I approved it based on the dimensions given (would fit her fish bowl) and the castle window appeared large enough for her fish to swim through.

The castle's size is as advertised but there is no castle door/window (it's not open as pictured). The black hole in the right side, acts as the swim-hole, but is only sized for a teeny tiny fish. Her Beta will never get thru it, so...while we'll still use it, but it was a disappointment.

Beware, this castle seems quite popular as MANY sellers had it advertised.

this light works just as advertised on my 20 gallon aquarium

the blue selection gives it a nice reflection off the glass stones

at the bottom and really gives them a blue glow, the goldfish seem to like the light too. in the daytime the full light gives a shimmering effect in the water and all the colors in the decorations are vibrant, even seems to make the bubbles in the tank look better. this is way better than my old flourescent light, the fish are more colorful too.

The Problem with this product is they made the clamp to small so it will only clamp on a small tank.

I bought 4 of these to spot light a 75 gallon tank and they will not fit on the rim of the tank.

I wish they made a wider clamp.

So unless you have a small 10 or 20 gallon these will do you no good.

I bought 3. 2 Work just fine,1 has 3 white leds that went out after only having it for about a month -__ ...Besides that issue,they could use some memory. I have them on a timer so they turn on and off by themselves, when it's on I set the right like I want by turning a certain color off but since there's no memory, everytime it turns off then back on I have to manually set those colors off again.

I originally bought this for a 12 gal pico reef tank thinking that I could replace the 50/50 bulb that was currently there. The problem was that the light penetration was negligible the foot or so to the bottom of the tank and with all lights on the colors of the coral were not brought out like I have seen with other lights.

Now, I do have to say that it worked well for a moonlight accent when the room was dark. With the white LED's off and just the red, green, and blue on the tank looked pretty good but the disbursement angle still didn't cover some of the corals.

I have now moved it to a 5 gal cube that I have in my office and it does pretty well there.

All in all I would recommend this only for very small tanks and maybe just for accent lighting.

Remember: With these kinds of lights you generally get what you pay for

This light works, just wish it had more power to it. It was over my 3 Gallon Pico, it was good enough to grow some small coral, but I could barely see them because the light was so dim.

I really do enjoy the look of this item. There is one issue however, it floats. It is very difficult to get this to stick in substrate, and with fish bumping into it and such, I was constantly putting my arm in the tank to put this back down. I did finally decide to take it out of the tank, which is a shame, because it did look very neat.

It was a little bigger than I thought...using it in a 5 gallon aquarium. However, it is still perfect and looks amazing. Would be ideal for any aquarium larger than 5 gallon.

This product was listed as "new" condition. Upon arrival, it was open and clearly used with algae growing on the inside. Upon attempting to return the item, I learned that we would have to pay for shipping and that it was not eligible for exchange. Incredibly disappointed with both the product and the service. DO NOT PURCHASE a new item expecting that it will be as listed.

This pump has better flow than the Danner Mag Drive 950 that it replaced. It seems to leak pretty easily when installed externally. It seems pretty quiet in my opinion and I require this as the pump is running a protein skimmer in my reef tank that sits in my dining area.

So I bought one of these pump about 6 months ago. After disassembling and cleaning the impeller, I reinserted it, only to have the impeller shaft snap in half when the magnets grabbed the impeller. I looked up the manufacturer's warranty only to find that they will only honor it if you bought it from an "authorized dealer". They don't list amazon.com as an authorized dealer. Buyer beware! No warranty expressed or implied if you buy it here.

Edit: After talking with Sicce they were willing to offer me %50 off replacement parts and they were pretty nice about the whole thing. SicceUSA on Amazon isn't actually Sicce, so i would still recommend buying this from your local retailer. In case something breaks you can always go to your local place and get the replacement part ASAP.
