Product was received and when installed was defective. Notified company and they made excuses that I could have dropped it,misstored it(how do you do that?) and bulb was past warranty....I noticed that other reviews were responded to with excuses...I DO NOT recommend Seacorals based on their reviews. The item was $12 so it was a matter of principle: they sent a defective bulb and that is final!! Amazon was great in handling the problem....should have been handled by this company!! Now watch the excuses.....

Zoo Med AquaSun Dual Timer Custom 2 Outlet Timer Day/Night Timer Cycle

This was easy to set up and works well. The dial shows the night hrs in black and the day hours in white so it's easy to tell with 12 is midnight and which is 12 noon. There are little protrusions for each 30 minutes on a 24 hr circle, and to keep the light on at those times, you leave them in the "up" position, to turn light off you depress them, and then you connect the aquarium light and plug in.

There are two outlets so when you plug it in, you don't "lose" the second one that is covered by the unit. The bottom one is unaffected by the setting of the timer.

As another reviewer also mentioned, it does not keep accurate time. I got this device a few days ago and I immediately set the current time. It was 3pm when I plugged it in and 4 days later, and last time i checked it's still 3pm. I'm going to have to chuck this one. It's not worth my time to return it.

If you're planning on using this on a power strip or anything other than the wall outlet you're going to need like 4 open spaces on that power strip. It's designed to plug in vertically so it covers a few spots above it. It also sticks down so far that it covers an outlet below it. This means that if you want to plug it in to the wall outlet it will cover both outlets no matter which of the two you use. You could just plug your power strip in to the bottom spot on the timer but one reason most people have a power strip is because it extends from the wall so you don't need long cords. If the timer is all the way over at the outlet you will need an extension cord to use it. If you have your equipment right by the outlet this may work for you but for me it's completely unusable.

it is inaccurate and does not keep marked time, it will keep shifting and you will need to keep adjusting the timer. I would not recommend this product. Buy the Intermatic TN311 15 Amp Heavy Duty Grounded Timer for $10.95 instead, it keeps time perfectly. PS. it is a bit loud.

A&E Cages-Penthouse Dome Top Cage - Large

whoever designed this cage understands parrots who know how to get out of their cages. The latch on the cage door, the latches on the food-service & nest-box doors, the "guard flaps" on the cage door AND on the grid at the bottom, are all unreachable by my Houdini umbrella cockatoo. The guard flap above the cage door even has a triangle of metal welded behind it so he can't reach it to slide it open. That means I no longer have to have to have combination padlocks on ALL his doors-makes it a lot easier to feed him & let him out. Only 2 "dings" against this cage: the perch it came with was so small in diameter (it was just designed for a smaller parrot) that he chewed thru it in a week, so I need to buy another (larger) perch on my own right away. And I wish the bar spacing was wider, so he could see out better, since he's a larger parrot; again, the cage was probably designed with a smaller parrot in mind. That said, this cage is large enough that he can (& does!) stretch out his wings & flap. Another website I saw says they refuse to carry this brand, but I'm so completely happy with this cage I'm planning on buying another one for his sister.

This is a great cage for large parrots, I was amazed when I got it together. It was bigger than I even expected. I bought the Sandstone color and it turned out to be a very pleasant rosy color instead of the harsh sandy gold color I was expecting. I am overall pleased with this product, even though the instructions left me hanging I managed to figure it out. I still, however, cannot get the seed catcher bolted to the cage correctly. The instructions are very non-informative. The only other complaint I can think of is the locks on the door and on the doors that pull open where the food trays are they are very hard to turn I will have to grease them up to make it easier for me. I would rather have one of the metal "push button" locks, but this dial turn lock will do for a while. Definitely a perfect cage for a large parrot, for the price I payed (165$) and free shipping, I am most pleased and I'm sure my new parrot will be so happy in it! There's so much room for toys and perches. Great product, recommend it.

This cage has instructions that are poor at best, written in chinese. A total of 7 Instructions connect ABCD, Screw EFGH to bottom, scrdew top panels left and right, attach 4pcs seed guards. Sounds simple doesn't it. Picture is bearly discernable, a jumble and one sided. Some of the items are not even accounted for in the picture. Some of the screw holes don't line up causing the screws to strip. After construction it looks good, will have to wait to see if it lasts. It has 4 access holes, but only 3 bowls and holders. Bottom has two screw holders on each side, haven't figues why they were drilled out, or what they are for? Called A&E company, they don't seem to know either. Paid $16 more for the cage from A&E than Amazon, orry I didn't get it from Amazon

The breeder I'm getting my baby Conure from recommended A&E cages. I was looking a lot at Prevue because they seemed to have a large selection. This cage is AWESOME! It's huge and a very strong quality. It came 2-3 days after I ordered it with FREE shipping. The boxes were fine no damage. My husband put it together in an hour-he said there weren't directions which I find hard to believe BUT he still put it together and he is not that handy ;) I love that there is just one big door in the front and the latch is the best I've seen on cage. The color is lovely, its super spacious, basically I think this is a great cage with a GREAT price! I would highly recommend this cage for your bird.

I've bought A&E cages, and they are pretty decent for Chinese cages. One of my cages arrived with a broken latch, and they replaced the part free.

Heavy duty wire, solid assembly hardware and nice design. The fit and finish could be better, but then the price would be a lot higher. I have two macaws (which are hell on cages), and an African Grey, and the cages work out nicely.

Tetra Pond Filtration Fountain Kits

This is an excellent product I am currently using it in a 50 gallon round water feature. At first I thought it would be too much power but its perfect the fountains are high quality! Much better then the little 100gph found I had in here before. Its full adjustable. The filter keeps out large debri, the fountain heads are high quality, and it has extra power/ability to run a seperate hose to a small frog that shoots water from its mouth in addition to the fountain itself. Highly recommend! Much cheaper then Lowes/HD products same thing would run over $100!

I like the design of the pump as far as size but it lacks power and the filter box doesn't stay under water without help (like a brick).

I bought this to replace the original system made by Little Giant, which had started to fall apart over the years. This pump is very powerful and the filter is much better that the one on the Little Giant. I've had it in for weeks now and have not had to clean the filter yet ( I also don't have fish in there now which makes a difference).

You have to weight down the filter or it will float, but this is no big problem. I used a small brick on top, but you can also put weights under the filter elements before putting them in which will work just fine.

Overall, it's well worth the money and looks to be very sturdily built.

I put this in my stock tank pond that was a little foggy yesterday, and the water is crystal clear now. I couldnt be happier with the simplicity of assembly and the amount of easy control you have over the flow of water. I rinsed the filter last night and it doesnt get any easier to do it. I was also really happy with the length of the cord. I went into this convinced i had to use an extention cord, but the stock cord was perfect. I will definitely be buying more. good for tanks with very thin glass.. but anything larger then say a 20 gallon and it falls off.. magnets are just not strong enough.

While this thermometer is a good concept, with the magnet outside attaching the thermometer to the glass inside, it hasn't worked at all for me. I attached it to my newly filled tank for my betta and it read eighty degrees. The temperature wasn't changing as I let the water sit, so I decided to test it by turning my heater on. While I definitely noticed a major difference in the water temperature, the thermometer still read eighty. I bought it from a local pet store, and I will be bringing it back.

I previously had a thermometer than stuck on the outside of my old tank, and I was much happier with it. Despite the fact that it is inconvenient as it can't be removed and reused, I will be buying a new one for my new tank in place of this.

It's a good size thermo, but then it's easy to read. I put it on the side back of my tank so it's not that notice able. The magnet is so great compared to floating or suction cup designs I've used in the past.

This is a great thermometer, but, if slid, it scratches acrylic. I took it off that tank and put it on a larger glass tank, and all is well. Just don't learn the hard way first!

I usually clean out my canister once or twice a month, so I always check to see the price on these. I've seen Amazon sell these from six up to ten dollars and change. These filters get dirty really fast, so I recommend replacing them at least once a month. I prefer these over the bonded filter pads because these seem to absorb more dirt, and you don't have to cut them. I still alternate between bonded filter pads and these. Keep an eye out for their low price which fluctuates almost daily.

What can I say, the fit perfectly in my Cascade 1000 pump. They last about 2 months, which would vary based on bio-load. I bought a second sponge for the bottom tray. 2 tray of SeaChem Matrix in the middle trays. Seachem Purigen and one biofloss in the top tray. Tank is crystal clear, almost like the fishing are floating in air.

I purchased this to go over the top of my Zilla 36x18 "Critter Cage" when the original lid screen was damaged by my cat with an overzealous sense of curiosity. He likes to lay atop and soak up the heat that was meant for my 2 Mali Uromastyx reptiles in the terrarium below. Attempts at repairing the original tank lid proved to be a waste of time as the screen would only collapse again when the cat decided it was time for another sunbathing session. A lid this size was extremely hard to find, that is until I went to Amazon.com. Kordon/Oasis (Novalek) AKD37656 Rid Ich for Aquarium, 16-Ounce

After I apply the Rid-Ich, the water immediately turned blue. The fishes look very uncomfortable at first, and surely enough the sickest fish died next day. But after a few more days Ich is gone. The medication is very strong, when I accidentally got some of it on my hand the stain seem to be permanent.

It also kills other fungi, which is a good bonus. I had some fish with another fungus infection that rots their fin, and Rid-Ich got rid of those too. Good product but may kill weak fish.

I currently have a 125 gallon aquarium with about 45 different types of Loaches, which if you don't know are incredibly susceptible to Ich. I had grown tired of using other ich treatments as they were always to strong to use on my loach species being that they are "scaleless" fish and cannot handle normal ich treatments and also cannot handle large amounts of salt. It was paramount to find a treatment that I could use at full strength without worrying about killing my loaches. After researching I saw Kordon come up repeatedly as a preferred treatment for many fish keepers. So I went to order Kordon Ich Plus right away. At the time I received the treatment my Clown Loaches in a month long battle with a terrible ich outbreak. So I poured in the recommended amount on the bottle, with the temperature at 84F, and a 75% water change my Clown Loaches were showing no signs of ich anymore. After a month of using the treatment I was ensured that all ich was eliminated from my tank. Since then whenever I introduce a new young fish into my tank I add Kordon Ich Plus to my water as insurance to make sure my tank will not become infected. I give this product five stars because it cures ich speedily and without harmful effects to my fish. Since I used this product I also have not had another outbreak of ich. So I can say that I'm very happy with this purchase.

When I do a water change sometimes it stirs up the gravel bed and the fish muck. It has been my practice for years to use this product at half strength in such cases. It seems to prevent shock and parasitical or fungal problems in that environment.

I also suggest if you have silver colored fish to go half strength. IE, Silver Dollars, Tinfoil Barbs, etc. Silver colored fish seem to be more sensitive to this product.

I use this at the first signs of stress or disease in the tank. Follow with a water change and another treatment for best results. I rarely have to do this more than twice. For what it is worth my fish are going on seven years of age. This product has been my first line of defense and really works.

After months of bad advice from people at pet stores, the condition of my beta was so advanced I was scared the rid ich wouldn't be shipped in time to save him. Rid Ich works! Just make sure that you do not over-medicate your fish and that you have time to observe him after each doseage.

I had one bumblebee cichlid that looked terrible. He was lethargic, covered in white spots, clamped fin and a rotting tail fin. The other fish were acting a little odd. They were scratching themselves against rocks quite a bit and werent eating much. I used Rid ich for 4 days and they were all completely healed (except for the fin rot which is getting better). It worked like a charm. The down side is that it stained all the silicone in my tank such as in the corners. I wish this product didnt stain because it really does work well. I think next time I'll try to use heat and salt to heal my fish because this stuff is ruining my tank.

First of all one needs to know that the goldfish was created by the ancient chinese out of the koi. Just like there are lots of dog varieties there are lots of koi thanks to hummans. The goldfish is one of those koi. Just with a different name. The point of this is that if you buy this your koi is going to eat it and like it just as much as if it was a goldfish. The main benefit to this over flakes is that they float better and dont get caught in fliters as much. The fish can eat them better and this helps keep your tank or pond cleaner. My koi "nikko" both enjoys these pellets and eats them all preventing too much of a mess for me.

Sure, these filters perform great, they always have. I'm not really an aquarium expert but the catch a lot of goo, and seem to work well for the recommended month long lifetime.

The real takeaway is that the local big box pet store charges FIVE TIMES AS MUCH for this same box of filters as Amazon. Nuts to that. Buy your filters here.

Having to ordering replacement filters regularly is the main reason I dislike this filter setup. At least this 6pack is much cheaper than buying at the local pet store and shipping is quick. These are great if you are stuck using this filter, the filter pads themselves work fine and keep the water clean.

Try rinsing off the filter pad in old aquarium water when you do a water change to prolong the life of the cartridge. I have the 2.5 and 5 gallon minibow aquariums, and find that rinsing prolongs the usability of the filter cartridge 2-3 times longer. If the aquarium starts to get that "fishy" smell that means the activated carbon in the filter has been depleted and the cartridge is due to be replaced.

It's a filter, it seems to do what it is supposed to although I have no way to scentifically test the efficiency of the activated charcoal.

Now the tank has settled down, the water is bright and clear. I do a water refresh every two weeks and change the filters alternate weekends. Sometimes I wash debris off it between changes.

Prices from Amazon are much better than from local stores.

my guinea pig's favorite things to chew are the simple brown paper bags or cardboard tubes and boxes. you can buy this as something cute for the cage but if your guinea pig tends not to have interest in the things you actually purchase just don't bother. he's had it for a couple months and i still get super stoked when i happen to see him chewing on it. it's rare. it's essentially very difficult to find a manufactured product that guinea pigs like more than those simple things.

The toy is a nice size but my Chinchilla ate the hanging part off within minutes so it just sat on a shelf while she consumed the rest of it.

This product has both! Excellent nutrition and most of my fish eat it quite happily. A couple will eat it but prefer API Tropical Flake. Flakes are not suitable for some fish such as goldfish, as swallowing air while eating can cause them swimbladder issues. This is a pellet so that issue is avoided.

I bought this to get a good sinking food for my community tank and my fish are loving it. My fish go crazy for this food whenever I feed them.

Works great for my very large angelfish, however, as they have pretty small mouths. This one floats, though I know other NLS foods sink pretty quickly, depending on the size of the pellet, I am assuming. Worth the money, and I won't likely buy my fish anything else. My two angels also grew drastically after I began using it, even though they had been crawling along in development prior. Could be coincidence, but who knows! Also, ordering it from Amazon saved me a bit, because only one local store carries this brand and they charge more than what I paid for the food and the shipping combined.
