the ship looks great on my 72 bow front tank i set my tank with two of these and it look great

I haven't actually placed it in a tank yet but after receiving it I wanted to say something about it. There is a small part of a bow mast that protrudes over the figurehead. It was chipped into at least three pieces. Two of which I found and reattached with glue. Judging by the appearence of the part after I glued what pieces I had to it, I could still tell that there was another small piece, nowhere to be found. Overall it still looks really nice. I'm sure someone not knowing what to look for will not notice that the front is chipped. Afterall it IS a shipwreck :) My catfish will enjoy the large holes and spacious interior to hide in.

EHEIM FILTER PAD SET 2226/28

Eheim Filter Pad Set work to keep my 180 gal turtle aquarium clean. The produce fits into the filter baskets as original. They are easy to rinse and reuse a time or two if need be. I have owned this filter for almost 15 years and with proper cleaning and a few minor seals that had to be replaced because the filter was disassembled and moved. I recommend this product for direct replacement for the Eheim 2226/28

To me the ehiem 2026 is the best filter, these are the pads for it. Change the white 1 month rinse the blue next month change both. Thats 2 months worth in the box. Oh and good luck finding a lower price.

We have had our gerbils about 3 weeks, and have tried several different habitats.

The small starter cage from the pet store was way too small, and too messy as the little guys would dig and throw the bedding all over the floor. This drove me crazy. They also chewed up the plastic ramps.

Then, we tried 2 different tall plastic bins with a piece of screen over the top. We weren't happy with that either, as we couldn't interact with the gerbils at all. They are BIG jumpers, so if we took off the screen to interact with them, they would jump straight out of the bin, and it was the tallest bin we could find!

So, this product was the solution and we are so happy with it. I found the 10 gallon fish tank at a super store for only 10 bucks. Great deal.

I agree, the little platforms are a little hard to put in, and I had to push a little to get them to work right, but still well worth the money. Mine seems very stable, and I don't feel the need for zip ties as other users have.

The small blue dish and the blue wheel are from the other cage we had. I was happy to see that the wheel would work with this cage as well.

After reading some of the prior reviews, I was a little concerned about the quality of this product, but I have to say, it met and exceeded my expectations, especially for the very reasonable price! Our hamster has been desperately trying to escape her 10 gallon glass aquarium home too small and cramped. But we did NOT want one of the plastic homes. Prior experience tells me that they become chew toys and end up with sharp edges and holes in the walls. Also didn't want to spend tons of money on a huge new cage.

Our product came exactly as pictured. I wonder if prior reviewers were expecting it to come with the 10 gallon aquarium part it does not, and the description makes that very clear. You need to buy the glass aquarium separately, and they are very cheap at most pet stores. It was very easy to assemble, less than five minutes. We did not need zip ties or any other supplemental wiring or connectors. I do have to note that it does not fit perfectly across the top of our base aquarium, but with the springloaded clips, it is perfectly secure and we have no problems with it staying in place.

The layout does make it very difficult to access the bottom level of the cage without removing the entire top, but if you keep the food bowl in the "penthouse" then you only have to remove the top for cleanings. The hamster is much happier with the additional space and loves exploring.

All in all, we are extremely pleased with this product. It does exactly what we bought it to do, it works exactly as intended, and the price was much better than comparable products. I recommend it for your hamster or gerbil friends!

The customer image is the actual product sold (ty). I am glad I was told I might have been upset if I thought I was getting a bigger item. I am happy with the size I have as my gerbils are a little timid to climb. I'd recommend this product for gerbils they would chew thru the plastic version that is available for le$$. It's been said two gerbils require a 10-20 gallon. I think this was the perfect tank extension for my two pets to get the space they need.

Before I purchased this, I looked up all over the internet trying to find info on the wire bar spacing of this high rise cage and could not find it. So, I took a chance and ordered it anyway. Now, I can share with others the bar space measurement, which is very important to know when you have small pets! The bar spaces are 3/8-inch(which is 1 cm). I got it to use for mice and have not had any trouble with escapees. There was one corner where one bar is distanced further, so I cross-wrapped some wire around that small spot, so that I wouldn't have to worry about my mice making the great escape. I would recommend going over the cage before you put your pets in to make sure there are no areas like this...all it takes is one spot a little wider than the others and small mice or hamsters can slip out.

Also, in the item description here on Amazon it says the measurements of the cage are: 19-1/2-inch width by 11-inch depth by 10-1/2-inch height. However, this is not the actual measurement. As stated on the box it comes in the measurements are: 20 1/2 width by 10 3/4 depth and 10 1/2 inch height. This fits perfectly on a ten gallon aquarium. Also, the Amazon description says that it comes with a wheel and tunnel tubes, which it does not. I am going to email Amazon, so that they can correct the description. It does come with a water bottle and food dish. I already have a water bottle, though, so I didn't even try this one. (edited to add that I tried the water bottle just to see if it works...it leaks like crazy! With some adjustment, I got it to stop leaking out the metal ball part, but then it started leaking at the seam where it screws together...so it went in the garbage!)

This cage comes folded up with all the sides all ready connected to the top, so you just attach the J hooks of the sides together and then attach the shelves and ramps inside. It comes with two shelves and two ramps, which with the aquarium makes it a three story house. I didn't have any trouble assembling it...it just takes a little patience attaching the shelves inside, as you have to maneuver your hands and the shelves around the inside of the cage to connect them. They are also attached with J hooks. It says you don't need any tools, but I borrowed my Dad's pliers to pinch the J hooks tighter where the ramps connect to the shelves. My mouse that I had in another cage always got under the ramp and would bump it(maybe trying to move it) and when I tested these ramps by putting my hand under them and giving them a bump, they lifted right off. I didn't want my mice getting hurt by falling ramps, so I just pinched those hooks tighter with the pliers and now they are secure.

When I was considering buying this, I was confused by the conflicting reviews, as some said it was great and others said it had broken and bent wires, etc. But, I knew Amazon always gives 100% refund if an item arrives damaged, so I went ahead and ordered it. No problem with mine, so hopefully the company that makes these has better quality control now.

On the box, it states the cage is for hamsters, gerbils, mice, and rats. I really can't imagine a rat having enough room in there when they're full grown, but I've never had a rat before(only mice), so maybe I'm not the one to say. I just always love my pets to have plenty of room and for mice, this gives them lots of fun space. The mice cages at pet stores seem so small, so I had been using a big plastic bin, but this is much nicer(no plastic...yay!) and easier to view the little critters. It has a large snap door opening in the top, so you can reach in to interact with your pets. The cage is easy to lift off...you just lift the spring loaded clamps on each side and it lifts right off. Those clamps are attached to the cage and you pull them down to clamp under the black rim of your aquarium. But, they are SPRING loaded, so if you have children, be sure they know not to fiddle with them...when I first took the cage off the aquarium, I just snapped them up and they jumped up like a gerbil...you wouldn't want a child's hand to get hurt or startle the inhabitants of the cage. The cage feels secure on top of the tank; I tried rocking it back and forth and it stays securely. I have found it works great for mice.

I made an extra shelf to put on the second story, so now the second story is a full floor. I used metal grating like the type used for these shelves. I got it at a hardware store (I got the more expensive kind, because the less expensive kind had rough metal). I cut it to size with overlap on the front and back...that way the overlap is what holds it in place when I clamp the cage on. I attached felt around all the edges to cover any sharp points where it was cut with wire cutters.

This is my first aquarium cleaner since I'm new to the hobby. I didn't like the idea of putting my mouth on a hose, so I thought I'd give this pump-action one a try. It was easy to use and did the job well. It took only a few pumps to get the water flowing out of the tank and into a bucket, and it seemed to do a good job of cleaning the gravel as well. I bought mine from amazon, not the seller that has his fulfilled by amazon so I did receive a genuine item. I wanted to use this to clean the gravel on my 2.5 gallon tank but unfortunately it sucks the water so fast that it quickly drains the aquarium. If I had a larger tank, ie. 10 gallon and above, I think it would be fine, but doing close to a 80-90% water change just ends up stressing the fish. Also I wish this came with some better instructions as well.

I bought this to use on a regular 10 gallon (non-BiOrb) tank. It's a lot easier than my old gravel vacuum to get the water started. I also bought a 5 gallon bucket at Walmart to use with this cleaner. I just siphon the water into the bucket right below, which makes cleaning a piece of cake. Then, I re-use the water by watering my plants and trees outside because I figure there should be some nutrients in it (I could be totally wrong though, never researched it).

It's definitely not as powerful as my old standard gravel vacuum. This is mainly because there is a plastic "net" on the gravel end which prevents gravel from entering the tube. The problem I have is that the gravel sticks to the net when water is flowing and obstructs the hole for the nasty stuff to go in. I just have to shake the hose a lot to make the gravel fall off the pump. Overall, this pump does a pretty good job and is very easy to use.

One of my 60 gal planted tanks is lit exclusively by TrueLumen Pro LED lighting. For the better part of a year, I used one of these to power two 24" and one 36" inch fixture, daisy chained together. When I decided to add a second 36" unit, I had to add another power supply, so now I run one 24" and one 36" on each. Both configurations have worked well with no drama (something I can't say for some competitive LEDs I use on other aquariums).

The downside is that this is pricey, especially if you power only one fixture. Virtually identical power supplies made by the same OEM sell for less under other names, but given the cost of the LED fixtures themselves, it doesn't seem worth the gamble to buy another brand just to save a few dollars.

Power supplies have been the Achilles Heel of aquarium lighting since incandescents went out of vogue, and only time will tell how durable these prove to be. But at least my first one has lasted a year, which is better than some others I've encountered.

Not much to say, it works as advertised. I am currently powering 2 TrueLumen lights with this and it works well. Small enough to be hidden.

Second, I purchased the Beef Hooves ~(There is not a label or sticker clarifying where they are from.)

Third, I purchased the Chix Mix ~ The label does indeed read in small print on the back of the package, right hand corner, "PRODUCT OF CHINA",

The sticker label on the front reads, "Product regularly tested to insure quality. Lab tested in the USA."

(So at that point, I figured it is made in China and tested in the USA)

Does that mean they test every bag? I doubt it.

I just got off the phone with the Smokehouse customer service department.

Their representative did go over each of the three products I bought.

The Beef Hooves and The Retriever Pork Skin are from the USA.

The Chix Mix is from China. She clearly stated this.

It looks like a great product,

but I am very hesitant to feed them to my dog.

I Googled all the information about the the dog deaths linked to Chicken Jerky Treats from China.

This brand was NOT on the list, but I read enough to be concerned about where they come from.

I will be exchanging the Chix Mix for the Beef Hooves tomorrow.

Kordon Amquel Plus Water Conditioner

I have used this in tandem with NovAqua Plus (also from Kordon) for quit a long time and I would not use any other water conditioners out there . I do not need it to control my Ammonia , Nitrites nor Nitrates because I have a well cycled and balanced aquarium , but I am at 85 % stocking compacity in one of my aquariums and around 70 to 80 % in the others for their sizes and filtration , but it is better to be safe than sorry . AmQuel Plus does not remove ammonia , nitrites or nitrates but simply binds them so they will no longer be toxic to your fish and by only binding them they will not interfere with your beneficial nitrifying bacteria . It will not effect your pH . Though it does state that by using AmQuel Plus you will need to do less partial water changes , I would still continue normal maintenance and water changes as usual . One should not rely on a product in place of proper water changes for the health and welfare of the fish . It is harmless to use with plants and inverts including coral and sea anemones .

When using AmQuel Plus one must remember that when running water tests be sure to use Ammonia tests that do not use the "Nessler" regeants as it will give you a false or inaccurate readings .

Some fish tank maintenance products do not work well with, and can even be toxic when combined with tap water conditioners containing "stress coat" ingredients. This product works perfectly for water conditioning without adding unneccessary "stress coat" ingredients. I was very happy to find this product after reading the warning about stress coat on another fish tank maintenance product I use! Amquel+ is a smelly product, but it works great!

Just make sure you don't overdose it. Although it says it removes nitrates and nitrites, many tests will show the same nitrates and nitrites after using this product. It just makes them non-toxic (binds them, as someone else said here in the review) , but doesn't remove them. it's done that way to maintain balance in the aquarium without killing beneficial bacteria. So if you think , the nitra(e)tes are still there and you keep upping the dose, you'll lower your ph to a very low level and also create oxygen reduction in your tank and kill all the fish. Also these products , when used make sure your water is well aerated. This is very essential esp. at higher temperatures above 70F as warmer water has lesser oxygen and adding such products will still lower them. So just use recommended dosage and wait 24-48 hours until next partial water change and use again. Some ppl mistakenly do these things and thing that the product is poison. It's not. It worked well for me. Life saver. And don't rely on this product and just ignore partial water changes. Do the things you do normally. If you don't do your groundwork and expect sudden magic to happen , it's not going to. Plus its' hard to monitor overdosing when you think you're not getting right readings.

Personally if you're using this to remove ammonia, your tank is not cycled (even to the first level) and you've no business keeping fish in them and traumatizing them. If you're cycled, and if you still see ammonia, then you're really overcrowding or overfeeding your tank.

I use this product mainly when my 2nd or 3rd cycle (nitrate,nitrites) have trouble getting removed (which is common sometimes). And word of wisdom is it's not wise to use your fish as guinea pig during cycling. It's very traumatizing for them. create a good cycle first and make sure it works and then slowly add fish little by little.

I use this product to dechlorinate tap water for water changes, but I would NOT recommend it as a REPLACEMENT for water changes as it significantly reduces your pH. If you continually add it to your tank without any water changes in hopes of maintaining proper water parameters, you will end up with a pH around 6.0-6.2. My goldfish actually got fin rot due to the low pH as a result of this product. I buffered my water with baking soda, bringing the pH back up to 7.6, but that only lasted a couple hours until it dropped back down. It's not an entirely bad product as long as you're using it purely for the purpose of dechlorinating tap water. If you're skeptical of this product due to the effect it has on the pH, I would go look at Seachem Prime.

My nitrates were at 20ppm, everything else was 0.... Dosed the tank at 5 pm.... Everything still alive at 2 am.... Everything DEAD at 7:30 am! The company says everything died suddenly due to the level of nitrates. I never write reviews, but here's one I had to for future buyers. The picture shows a beautiful, consistent yellow gravel. This is not what arrived. Initially I thought they accidentally sent me green but it was what they called yellow. It was light, yellowish green, but definitely green. Also, it was not solidly painted, it was speckled with color that covered most of these rounded pebbles but was not solidly covered which makes it look cheap. I also didn't appreciate having to pull out twigs that counted as part of my 5lbs a bag, they were also poorly painted. I don't recommend this "yellow" or the product itself in any other color based on the quality I received.

I bought these thinking they were yellow.

Guess what? They are green, with a yellowish tint. So if you want yellow don't buy. If you want puke colored, then these are perfect for you!

Kordon/Oasis (Novalek) AKD37656 Rid Ich for Aquarium, 16-Ounce

After I apply the Rid-Ich, the water immediately turned blue. The fishes look very uncomfortable at first, and surely enough the sickest fish died next day. But after a few more days Ich is gone. The medication is very strong, when I accidentally got some of it on my hand the stain seem to be permanent.

It also kills other fungi, which is a good bonus. I had some fish with another fungus infection that rots their fin, and Rid-Ich got rid of those too. Good product but may kill weak fish.

I currently have a 125 gallon aquarium with about 45 different types of Loaches, which if you don't know are incredibly susceptible to Ich. I had grown tired of using other ich treatments as they were always to strong to use on my loach species being that they are "scaleless" fish and cannot handle normal ich treatments and also cannot handle large amounts of salt. It was paramount to find a treatment that I could use at full strength without worrying about killing my loaches. After researching I saw Kordon come up repeatedly as a preferred treatment for many fish keepers. So I went to order Kordon Ich Plus right away. At the time I received the treatment my Clown Loaches in a month long battle with a terrible ich outbreak. So I poured in the recommended amount on the bottle, with the temperature at 84F, and a 75% water change my Clown Loaches were showing no signs of ich anymore. After a month of using the treatment I was ensured that all ich was eliminated from my tank. Since then whenever I introduce a new young fish into my tank I add Kordon Ich Plus to my water as insurance to make sure my tank will not become infected. I give this product five stars because it cures ich speedily and without harmful effects to my fish. Since I used this product I also have not had another outbreak of ich. So I can say that I'm very happy with this purchase.

When I do a water change sometimes it stirs up the gravel bed and the fish muck. It has been my practice for years to use this product at half strength in such cases. It seems to prevent shock and parasitical or fungal problems in that environment.

I also suggest if you have silver colored fish to go half strength. IE, Silver Dollars, Tinfoil Barbs, etc. Silver colored fish seem to be more sensitive to this product.

I use this at the first signs of stress or disease in the tank. Follow with a water change and another treatment for best results. I rarely have to do this more than twice. For what it is worth my fish are going on seven years of age. This product has been my first line of defense and really works.

I had one bumblebee cichlid that looked terrible. He was lethargic, covered in white spots, clamped fin and a rotting tail fin. The other fish were acting a little odd. They were scratching themselves against rocks quite a bit and werent eating much. I used Rid ich for 4 days and they were all completely healed (except for the fin rot which is getting better). It worked like a charm. The down side is that it stained all the silicone in my tank such as in the corners. I wish this product didnt stain because it really does work well. I was so excited to buy this tank and raise jellyfish with my special education class. The tank itself is cute, but the 3 semi-dead jellies that arrived 8 hours later than promised, in a box labeled "perishable", but with NO indication that there were living things inside, was heartbreaking. The living rock was a joke, the substrate MUCH too big, and tank levels were IMPOSSIBLE to stabilize regardless of how many water changes. This was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent! We are former JFA customers. We made three attempts at keeping jellies. They all shrunk and JFA consistently gave two answers when we contacted them do a 20% water change and feed more. The third, and final time we had JFA jellies they shrunk again. Only when I became utterly exasperated with their 'water change/feed more' answer did they suggest regularly adding a few drops of Phytofeast and/or live food. Now I think they're telling customers all the time to feed live food had they simply acknowledged this at the onset (instead of pushing their frozen food and reassuring customers this was the only food required) I would never have purchased jellies since I wasn't interested in starting a brine shrimp hatchery in my house. Nevertheless, because I already had them and they were dying/shrinking with JFA frozen food I had to start hatching brine shrimp. Finally, with live food one jelly grew large and normal looking. But, this was only after it had mated with another jelly which resulted in orange polyps covering every surface of the tank. (I asked about the possibility of mating before I bought them and was assured this couldn't happen. Also, polyps reproduce independently, so when these show up there's no way of getting rid of them unless the tank is completely broken down, cleaned out, and re-started.) At this point, we overlooked the orange mess because we were happy that after all our effort at least one was surviving. According to JFA it's ok to leave jellies alone for a weekend, if needed. We did that and came home to find this beautiful jelly in shreds from the bubble tube. After so much time, effort, expense, and frustration with poor customer service we decided we'd had enough and took down the tank.

So I've had aquariums for around 30 years, I grew up raising and caring for fish, i've dealt with desktop tanks and tanks that were 200 gallons. I have a few exotic reptiles as pets, and I've managed to keep cats and dogs alive for year and years with no problem. I feel that I'm a pretty experienced pet owner.

this tank is cheaply made, like suuuuuuper cheaply made. I spoke to someone who designs fishtanks and they said it was about the lowest grade acrylic you can use, though whether this is true or not is up for debate I suppose...though using an acrylic specific brush on the tank (and using it lightly) managed to do irreparable cosmetic damage. it looked like i'd taken a rake to the side of the tank.

the "live rock" is not live rock, it's glass or some other substance with divots in it that will eventually supposedly harbor bacteria, but it's not actual live rock, and the bacteria that gets fostered in there is NOT the stuff you want in your tank (i had a friend do lab tests on the water from another JFA tank as they are a biochemist so we went a couple steps beyond a traditional water testing kit and the water was not healthy since it ends up full of waste products from the jellies, and the snails and crabs you are encouraged to buy that are actually even MORE detrimental to the jellyfish).

the jellyfish i got were quite small and seemingly unhealthy. they died or shrank quickly, if they were not sucked into the aeration tube and shredded to death (this is in fact a very VERY common complaint) watching them die was heartbreaking and after multiple attempts (since i assumed the first time might have been the result of user error). in addition, the first set of crabs/snails i got were completely crushed before they even got to my house.

customer service was not helpful as their only suggestion was to change the water, something I did religiously until after my 4th go I threw out the tank as I could not bear to kill any more animals.

All said and done I probably spent close to a thousand dollars trying to modify the tank so that it could sustain life, and it could not, and can not.

Jellyfish are -veryhard to keep in captivity, especially in a tank that has no real filtration system...even moreso when you're dealing with a very small tank as the smaller the tank, the more volatile the environment.

I think the LED is very pretty, the design of the tank is decent, but this is something that should only be purchased by experienced aquarium owners, and even then with the caveat that this will be a LOT of work.

Since the system lacks a filter, water changes are something you'll have to do 1 or 2 times at week AT LEAST, since jellyfish are 97% water and are extremely sensitive to their environment. the aeration

I keep an adult red-eared slider semi-aquatic turtle who is very very very messy... like most turtle owners I have struggled to keep the water clean over the years ( frequent water changesreplacing filter cartridges having been a must.) My previous filter was destroyed by the turtle and I started looking online for a replacement. I wanted a high performance filter. I bought this filter about a month ago and have been amazed since then. I keep the animal in a pre-formed pond liner in my kitchen with around 60 gallons of water. I have not so far have had to change the water ( just add some) and it is clear and free of odors. The carbon in the filter really does wonder at purifying and the blue sleeve catches the debris very well. I have replaced the sleeve twice and the carbon once in a month time. The bio wheels are I think a must for turtles as they oxygenate the water and create more movement. I had to modified the set-up a bit in order to instal it on the pond liner instead of an aquarium, which took a little time, but so far have had zero problems. I highly recommend this product to anybody who takes care of turtles. It is powerful, quiet and very well made.

We are located in Colombia, south america, where this filter is hard to find. The filter is little to medium size, but in 48 hours makes your water so clear that the fish look like flying on air...

We use it to clean our tanks, it does a great cleaning job, this filter is ready to use, it comes with activated carbon, hoses, etc... all you need is a little hose cutting (to match tank hight), and plug the power cord...

The filter has been working for over a month now... absolutly NO problem! Weve changed the normal cartridge to the "Polishing" one... just amazing!... We breed discus and sometimes betta fish, having 7 discus in a 250 lt tank and the water quality raise so much that one new pair started spawning after polishing the water. the other tanks we own where passed thru the filter with excelllent results!, clear "new looking" water pronto.

"Ok, here is the l-o-n-g and short of it...bare with me and all your worries will be allayed ~ this canister filter is a miracle IF you take the time to inventory your parts, get to know the equipment included and TAKE YOUR TIME in the initial set up!!!

Background ~ we have a 75 gallon goldfish only tank (yup, the dirty little critters). But this tank is our family's pride and joy. We have two $30 goldfish in here a tri-color Ranchu and a Metallic Veil Tail Fancy along w/ a Chocolate Moor, a Black/White Telescope, an all White Fancy and an all Gold Fan Tail.

Step 1 inventory ALL your equipment. This took me almost 2 hours but I wanted to make sure everything was in the box that was supposed to be. Cross referenced with what the part did in/on the filter. Found one small broken piece but realized it would not alter set up.

Step 2 FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS WORD FOR WORD and DIAGRAM FOR DIAGRAM. Do not rush through this! I cannot stress this enough. It took my daughter and I about 3 hours to fully set this bad boy up. Due to some of the other reviews, we really made sure to follow along so as to not make errors.

Step 3 Perform regular maintenance. We do a 10% water change weekly and a 40% water change plus filter clean monthly (i.e. foam slip clean/replacement, carbon/ammonia media replacement, tube clean).

Side note ~ please, please, please follow the starting of the pump word for word. You have to get all the air out of the canister or it WILL BE AUDIBLE. After you have gotten most of the air out, there will, undoubtedly, be a little bit of air left. Just let it run and by the next day, it will be gone. This has been our experience every time we have had to turn it off and open it up. This is no biggie! Remember, this IS a filter with water running through it...it is NOT going to be totally silent! It sounds like a filter. I find the sound of running water soothing, but that is just me. I have this in my living room where we "live" and the sound does not affect my working from home in that room, us watching TV or sitting at the dining room table eating dinner (it is literally within 5 feet of the table). It does have a mind of its own and some days are quieter than others (cannot quite explain this) but it never is so loud as to be distracting and some days we have to check if it is even running.

Our tank has never been cleaner. Even my husband now enjoys watching the fish. The tank literally looks like there is no water in it except for the bubblers and a power head providing aeration for our fishy friends.

Another side note ~ I personally think the "water polishing cartridge" is a waste. We did try to change out the carbon/ammonia media and put it in but, honestly, did not make a difference. This DOES run louder as the filter does not fill the canister up fully so more room for water to rush around it. If you truly want a polisher, then I suggest the smaller Marineland HOT Magnum Hang On the Tank Canister as a supplement. But I don't see the point.

My amateur advice is always have a filter that is twice the recommended gallons required and your tank will be cleaner, regular maintenance will be lessened, your fish will be happier, and the joy of owning an aquarium will be increased!

I've had this filter installed on a 55-gallon aquarium for over 13 years, without a day of difficulty. It was a bit of effort to set up, but not what I would consider unreasonable. I took the time to install the quick-connects entirely worth it come cleaning day. It takes about 10 minutes to clean this filter, and I do it maybe 6 times per year. I don't have any trouble keeping the lid on the media container as long as the sponge sleeve is replaced, and it is put in the canister before filling with water. I have replaced the seals and gaskets once at minimal cost. The sponge sleeve is inexpensive to replace and lasts years if handled with care. I also have 2 bio-wheels on a separate pump and course sponge prefilters on all intakes. My aquarium is heavily planted (need to thin regularly) with a medium to low population of medium to large fish. I also have a 10+year-old HOT Magnum on a smaller tank, and it too performs extremely well. I have never used another filter for this aquarium, because I have never needed to.

Leaked immediately upon assembly around the shroud of the pump's impeller. Took apart multiple times to fix the problem. O-ring was seated correctly every time, just wasn't getting a good enough seal. Used silicone lubricant on the o-ring and so far it's fixed the leak. I received this 2 days ago. Simple to set up and get going. As with all skimmers minor tweaking needed. I had light colored skim in 12 hours. I put this on my seahorse tank. absolutely NO micro bubbles entering the tank. Which is great. My previous skimmer blew micro bubbles all over the place and took 2 weeks to break in.

Leaked 1st day! That was the first problem.

I have a 30 gallon sump(refugium) it does not fit on that, I had to use Velcro to keep it in place.

The output line for the waste is horribly placed. If Eshopps whants to learn something look at the Super Skimmer from Coral Life. Put the output line at the bottom so sediments dont just sit in there. If you want to put this in your sump dont buy it. If you want it to hang from your aquarium maybe its worth it.

The pump was planned to use for a fish pond at a Daycare for children here. The fish pond worked hard "as they could" along with me and staff in building it in the playground next to a garden. It's small"(30gal) but the fish we put in it were selected by kids. They make it a point to be sure we feed them every day. However, I know that the pond is potentially too small to allow enough oxygen to circulate naturally for about 30 fish. As the fish grow I know it will become more and more difficult for them to possibly breathe under water. It would break those kids heart to see them die. I don't want them to whiteness that.

I received my pump very fast in good condition and installed it effortless. The reveal to the kids was a great joy and happy moment for both them and all of our staff. It brings great comfort to them to know that the fish can breathe a little easier in our pond.

My only concern is that it operates properly with the solar panel. I'm not sure if it works continuously "Switched in the ON" position while the battery is in it. Or does the sun keep that battery charged. It's great that there is a user manual inside the package about the product and how to use it.

I switched "ON", the solar pump start to work continuously, it hasn't stop in day time. Because there is power inside the battery, and also the sun can charge the battery while the pump working. The solar panel transfer the sun to power and charge the battery, and battery can store some power.

Even when the day turns to dark, the solar pump can work extra 1hours by the power from the battery. And it get be charged again in the next morning.

Marina Hang-On Breeding Box, Small

My son really likes all things that are related to aquariums. He really likes this separate little tank when he needs it.

This box did just what it said. I've used it to acclimate my fish. It is very easy to set up. The water flow rate is very simple to adjust and works well. The only negative, and I knew this from the description, was that I could not hang it on the back of the aquarium. My stand is against the wall and there is not enough space behind the aquarium to do this. Also, I have a Marineland cover which hinges on the back. That and the glass canopy under the cover would not allow it to hang on the back either. This was easily remedied. As it was not meant as a permanent fixture, I hung it on the front of the aquarium and allowed the canopy and cover to rest on it in front. It wasn't opened very wide. The cover was still effective in stopping most evaporation and allowed the in-cover light to do its job. The result: the fish were happily acclimated.

Purchased the medium size sea caves for my mbuna cichlid tank. I wanted to have caves with more than one opening so my cichlids could swim through them without being trapped inside by another cichlid. I am so pleased with the caves as they have 3 openings each and stack quite well. I have two rows with heavy rocks to anchor them, don't want the fish to move them around as cichlids can be quite roudy. I purchased them because they are lightweight, easy to re-arrange and do not take up much water volume. They also look realistic, are good quality and have three available sizes. I am truly pleased with my purchase and so are my fish.

I purchased three of these. Unfortunately only one made it. Two where broken into ten pieces. But the one that did make it my fish love. The cory catfish have a blast in it. So do the albino algae eaters. Perfect size and goes well with any decor in tank.

Hydor AQUA COLOR UL Aquarium LED Light - Red

Gives a cool lighting effect but what I really like is the intense amount of bubbles it puts out. --Does take up a little tank space but in a 55 gal tank it's no problem for me. Aeration is important for oxygen content and fish health. So far this product has the others beat. Also, does not need a seperate pump so for the price and quality I rate this 5 stars and highly recommend!

We have a 55gal planted tank that we wanted to add some night lighting too in addition to the LED's in our hood. Our water was perfectly clear when I put these in. Unfortunately they were not really bright enough to have any affect. I would guess that 4 or 5 would be required to adequately light our tank. At that price we would be better off buying the LED light kit that comes with a hub and has lights that plug into that.

There is also the issue that 4 or 5 of these would require there own power strip and timer.
