Pet Buddies Pooch Go Fetch Toy

Pet Buddies Pooch Go Fetch ToyWe've had this toy for a few weeks now and for us, it seems to be pretty durable maybe the other reviewer got a defective one... It's been a fun toy so far for our dog, I recommend it.

Junk!

According to the container this toy is supposed to be made from "durable materials"

My dog chewed one side of it off within 3 days. I think it is a choking hazard.

I liked the designI didn't like the material it was made of. Maybe they need to use recycled tires instead. I have bought other toys that have lasted much longer and he still hasn't managed to chew any of them apart.

Fish Mate 2000PUV Pressurized UV+Bio Pond Filter

Fish Mate 2000PUV Pressurized UV+Bio Pond FilterSo this fishmate pressurized filter burst on me after a few months. Have been using it with a 800 gallon per/hour pump from the beginning. The video shows my dead koi, and after about 1 minute in, you can see the actual busted filter with water streaming out. Heartbreaking. I'm staying from Fishmate products in the future. Sure, Sunterra's are not so innovative, but they wont crack open, drain your pond and kill all your hard bred Koi.

For two years, I've struggled to keep my 1,300 gallon pond algy free and clear since it gets a lot of direct sun light and has 6-12 gold fish (depending on the last visit from the racoons). In two weeks this filter made crystal clear the pond that was slightly clearer than fat free milk.

I also bought the Fish Mate 4000 Pond Pump 1000 gph which is just fair. It makes a very noticeable humming/vibrating sound and the flow is not as strong as I'd hoped after the filter was attached.

Buy Fish Mate 2000PUV Pressurized UV+Bio Pond Filter Now

After my old canister filter died, I started looking for a new filter for my 75 gallon tank. I have some great big old goldfish and they are messy.

Over the years, I've discovered that pond equipment is generaly cheaper, better designed, and more rugged than aquarium equipment. This filter is no exception. Since it's pressurized, it can go below your tank. I added a Little Giant 1000gph pump and some simple plumbing with 3/4" flex tubing and some valves (all from your local big box store) and I was good to go.

The backwash feature is GREAT. You don't need to tear the whole filter apart to clean it. You can just backwash the muck out into a bucket. The way it works is kind of silly the filter comes with a screw-on cap to keep over the backwash port. Even when not in backwash mode, water will come out of that port without the cap on. I just permantently attached a 3' piece of hose with a valve at the end. When I backwash, I can just open that valve and let the muck run into my bucket.

The other thing I did was to intall a T and a valve in between the pump and the filter. I put a quick-disconnect garden hose connection on there and I can use a garden hose running over to the sink to drain and refill the tank. The pump pushes water out to the sink and I can use the water pressure in the house to reverse the flow and refill the tank. No buckets!

After a month, the tank is crystal clear and I'm just thrilled with the filtration capacity of this unit.

We purchased this pond filter in late 2008, and as of two years later it has just simply stopped working. We fortunately did not have the same issue as previous reviewers (cracks which lead to draining of the pond), but overall this unit is not worth the money. For $200+, you can most likely find a better filter that will last more than 2 years.

I like to use this Pond Filter because it is easy to clean. I had another filter before this one and it was very hard to clean. This filter also keeps my pond clean.

Seachem NutriDiet Fly Larve 35gram 1.2oz

Seachem NutriDiet Fly Larve 35gram 1.2ozMaybe this food is meant for feeding something other than a mixed freshwater community tank. Nothing would touch it. Fish like tetras, glass cats, betta fish, Siamese algae eaters (that eat any other food), and even red cherry shrimp. Nobody seemed to recognize it was actually food. Maybe the Fish eggs would've been more appropriate for my needs but I plan on waiting for reviews on the next NutriDiet product I try, if there will be a next time.

It's fair to point out that the description for this listing is wrong. It talks about mealworms while this is fly larve. I'm a big fan of many Seachem products but this was a complete flop that ended up in the trash in less than a week. I can't say if larger fish would eat it or not. That may be what this food is for, but with no accurate description for this listing it's hard to know.

I bought this directly from Amazon. When I opened it, it didn't look so great. I don't' know how it should look but today I happened to look at the bottom of the can and saw it expired TWO YEARS AGO. They are shipping out products that expired two years ago! Check around, you will see a lot of things are being shipped expired. That should be illegal.

This product is amazing!! My betta fish can't get enough of these and they come in a nice size. I was nervous that they'd be too big and that I'd have to cut them up (ick) but it wasn't the case at all. I'm so glad I took a chance and ordered nutridiet fly larvae.

AquaClear Intake Stem for 30/50 Power Filters

AquaClear Intake Stem for 30/50 Power FiltersThe shape of this piece makes it hard to clean (and this is my only gripe about the otherwise excellent AquaClear Filters). The bottom of the "U" tube of my filter had become coated in slime so I placed it in boiling water hoping the slime would dissolve/cook away, instead I melted the tube and it got deformed and didn't fit in the filter any longer.

This is a great, inexpensive replacement for it. No need to run and buy a whole new filter, as is common with so many appliances these days (or the price of the spare part is so high you may as well buy a new unit). I am glad Amazon stocks the parts. Got it delivered in 2 days with Prime shipping.

Exotic Environments Nile Crocodile Skull Aquarium Ornament

Exotic Environments Nile Crocodile Skull Aquarium Ornament, Small, 3-Inch by 6-Inch by 2-1/2-InchThis has grey and brown paint on it. When I initially cleaned it (before use) in my sink, I noticed the paint coming off. I used a scrub brush and most all of the paint came off, turning the water in the sink cloudy. After several scrubbings and changing the water, it quit shedding paint. Didn't look as cool following the paint removal. It's been in my aquarium for several months now, and no paint issues tank and fish are fine. I's collected its own natural "patina" from algea, etc, and now looks fine (about the way it did with the paint). Has a hollow upper portion and my Dinosaur Bicher and Brown Loach Eels reside in there. My plecostomii like to hang out in the sheltered mouth area. It's a good decoration just be sure to get all the loose paint off prior to use. I'd recommend...with caution.

I love the way this thing looked in my tank, but had to remove it! I took it out to as I was cleaning the aquarium and noticed a stong chemical-like odor coming from it. I have a lot of experience with aquariums, and of all the strange smells I have encountered this was different, bad... and unnatural. :( Very sad cause it looked awesome, now it's on our bookcase...

Marineland Rite-Size Cartridge

Marineland Rite-Size Cartridge B, 6-PackGreat product keeps my 30 gallon tank clean and clear. Purchased through Amazon at about 1/2 the price in the local pet store.

These cartridges are a breeze to use...Open the back top of the filter, pull out the old cartridge and slide the new one in...Gone are the days of removing the entire filter assembly, messing around with wool and charcoal...1,2,3 done...If there is a downside to these at all, it is that they can clog relatively fast (8-10 days)..That said, I think these are a top notch answer to an unpleasant task

I have tried the "made in China" replicas of these filters before and they only last one month before you have to throw them away as the blue floss material rips apart from rinsing. Coralife 77270 3X Turbo-Twist Pond Clarifier , 9-WattI wasn't protecting coral with the Twist Clarifier, so more robust chemical anti-bacterials were available to me. 1) the bulb doesn't last very long & 2) it was inadequate used alone, forcing me to support the clarifier with chemical anti-bacterials. If you can use chemicals, they'll be more effective. If you can't, better to select a stronger UV source to improve effectiveness.

AGPtek® High Lightness Aquarium 2 Mode Clip Lamp 48 LED White & Blue Light Adjustable Shading Degr

AGPtek® High Lightness Aquarium 2 Mode Clip Lamp 48 LED White & Blue Light Adjustable Shading DegreeDislikes

-The mount is made to fit onto just glass so if you have the black rim around your aquarium it will not fit w/o modification. This was frustrating. I took pliers and took out enough plastic that it could slide down onto my glass (no more return on tank)

*********the gap is 1.5cm wide and the bottom of the screw is about 1cm from the bottom, SO if you have a plastic lip shaped like this "L" than that top part (the "I" part of the "L" shape) needs to be taller than i would say 2cm's to get a proper strong hold, I hope that makes sense. You've been warned.

-Two things with the power (chord is 5ft btw), the plug is big so if you're using a wall outlet it must be on bottom, it has a red light on it I think red lights on plug-ins are annoying.

-The back of mine was a little warped/cracked and I don't think it was due to the shipping so beware of quality issues

LIKES

-The lights are great, the two options, white/blue and just blue are great and really bright. The blue really lights up my whole tank well and causes a great glow off of my fish, better than the store ones.

PRICE, the price is awesome, I'm glad I didn't waste $60 on lights

Overall:

For the price, this light is awesome. It looks good, Its super bright, and the blue lights make glofish glow really well. I gave 4/5 because of the value although I was pretty upset I had to modify my tank to accommodate it. I think if you're on a budget and don't mind modifying your tank a little than this is a great choice. I would get 2 for a 20+ gallon tank.

It lights it up very brightly and brings out the colors in the fish and aquarium real well. I love the blue " night light" option.

I had a couple of lights go on my Aquarium go bad. One was a LED and I only had it months, most of the lights went out and then the switch went. I also had the older version of florescent lights which gave a reddish look to the Aquarium . Both were replaced with a AGP tek ,which was very easy to adapt to fit . I was able to keep the new lights high enough to keep them from being wet most of the time. If you have checked out Aquarium lights the AGPtek are reasonable priced. Only three weeks but so far so good. The 4 stars are only because of the short time I've had them installed.

TOM Aquarium Perch-Light Fixture 9W w/Compact Flo Lamp, 6400K D

TOM Aquarium Perch-Light Fixture 9W w/Compact Flo Lamp, 6400K DI use this over an AC70 refugium and my Chaeto is growing quite well. Based on the 6400 light I would imagine this would work well in a planted mini FW tank (5 gallons or less) so long as it wasn't too deep and the plants weren't super high intensity plants.

Fit on the edge of my AC70 easily. I understand the bulbs must be bought from TOM which is a little unfortunate. They also make a 50/50 bulb for small nano-reefs.

I've had mine for a few weeks now, so far so good. The bad thing about is the bulbs have to buy the Tom's bulbs I guess. I've been using it on my HOB Refugium to grow chaeto and its worked well so far for that. The bracket is adjustable and should fit most rimless tanks/fuges/filters it can be swiveled in any direction and the angle of light can be adjusted as well.

Have had this for a little over a week but so far, so good. Light is adjustable horizontally and vertically (even though vertically is kind of useless from the given angels). Only complaint is I wish the light was a bit lower. It puts itself about 3.5 to 4in above the water line. I have this light on a 4 gallon Finnex tank which should be enough light with the "2 watts per gallon rule". Will update on how my plants do in the long run. My tank being a rectangle, kind of wished the light would attach horizontal. Kind of hard to explain but like this JBJ 3 Gallon Picotope Curved Glass Aquarium . Makes for a cleaner look.

Nova Extreme T5 X2 for Freshwater 24Inch

Nova Extreme T5 X2 for Freshwater 24InchI have one of these for my 20 gallon and my 55 gallon tanks.... they are AWESOME.

You cannot beat the value of this light. Many companies will sell the same thing for hundreds more. If you're on a budget, this is the thing.

The light fixture comes in different options. Be sure to match it to your needs. I'm freshwater, so no actinic. Mine has the grow light (pinkish), and the full spectrum (white/bluish). The color temperature etc. of this fixture is comparable to higher end setups, for much cheaper. I've been running the 55 gallon setup since I bought these, same with the 20 and haven't replaced a bulb once.

The power drain is minimal if you have em on a timer, and the output is great. There are, of course, better lights, but for the money, this is good for budget minded folks like me.

Charming Pet Latex Dog Toy Balloon

Charming Pet Latex Dog Toy Balloon, Monkey, LargeThe toys in this line are adorable and I bought a bunch of them (here and elsewhere): horse, duck, bull, sheep, alligator, monkey, pig, dog, and lion.

The horse arrived with its squeaker already broken....something was rattling around inside.

Each and every other one has not survived as much as 5 minutes being carried/mouthed....not chewed....on walks. The squeakers stop working and there's a rattle inside.

Today's walk was with the last of these toys (I alternate on our daily walks) and, after being carried by the tail, there was also a good tear in the latex. I fished out the loose squeaker part. It was a tiny cylinder of rubber. If this gets swallowed and caught in some dogs pyloric valve, there's a good chance it'll be causing a problem with bloat....and even watching over a dog with its toys won't always prevent initial chewing/swallowing with some dogs.

For what it's worth, I don't have a huge strong-jawed dog.....my guy is 30 lbs. of Whippet-like mix....he has a narrow little mouth.

I really wish I hadn't wasted my money on any of these since they're not as interesting to my dog once they no longer squeak.

My toy poodle got the squeaker out in a few days (which could have been a choking hazard). After a couple of weeks it has a torn area near the ear. It makes a loud noise that is very easy for the dog to squeak, so it was fun for a few days. But I cannot recommend this toy for any dog who chews.

Buy Charming Pet Latex Dog Toy Balloon Now

the toy was out of commission before my pug ever even touched it. it came open just taking it out of the box. the material is very thin and cheap. it was a total waste of money.

This toy is a big squeaker, so it is easy for the dog to squeak it. It is also loud and high pitched, which the dog LOVES. The best feature of this toy is that it bounces, so the dog spends all his time tossing it around, letting it bounce, and catching it again. It is very entertaining for him, and very amusing for me to watch.

I also like that this toy is easy to clean. It now has some dings and scratches but has held up very well.

The tail of the duck is not filled with air and my dog likes to gnaw on it once he tires from chasing it around. It hasn't showed any signs of wear either.

Zoo Med 501 Turtle Canister Filter

Zoo Med 501 Turtle Canister FilterThis product has had strangely mixed reviews, from exuberant to downright hate mail. I bought it because I thought that the other canister filter I was considering would be too powerful and would churn up the water too much for my small turtles.

When you test a filter, you can't just look at the water and say it works great; you have to test the water. Believe me, the turtles can tell the difference when there is a high ammonia content. You would too, if you were swimming in your own pee!

I've had this filter for 4 weeks. The first three weeks I could get no bio filtration at all, and the ammonia stayed at a high level. Then for the last week the filter has worked great and my ammonia is down at zero.

So I can highly recommend this product for a small tank normally used for baby turtles. What I do NOT recommend is the carbon inserts that go with the product! The insert is basically a disposable bag of activated carbon that is machined into smooth pellets. These pellets do a horrible job of absorbing the organics that they are supposed to control.

In the third week, I went to the aquarium store, bought a nylon bag, and filled it with over-the-counter activated carbon. These are basically raw chips of coal. The rough sides of the coal provide ample porous surface area for absorption. Also the activated carbon at the pet store comes a lot cheaper than the 501 carbon inserts.

You don't know clean water until you see the difference between the pellets and the activated carbon chips; you'll see the difference in just one day. But what's more important is that one week later, my ammonia is down to zero.

Turtles create a LOT of ammonia. With the right carbon, this filter will do the job. The proof is in the testing.

Praise the Lord! Someone has finally made a suitable turtle filter. My 6" western painted turtle has clean water because of this filter. This filter was simple to set-up, and hangs right on the side of my tank, not taking up any extra space (I purchased the filter hanger seperatly). As with any filter, you will need to replace the charcoal inserts, and they run around $3. This is a small price to pay to keep your pet's water clean. I find I need to replace them every 3-4 weeks. My turtle loves the optional spray bar (included) but it can be a pain to clean. Buy a cheap, small pipe-cleaner (or use pipe-cleaners like me)brush to get the grime off. I believe it's a small price to pay for a filter that WORKS! The small fish we have in the water as food aren't harmed by the powerful suction created near the water intake, either.

Overall best filter for the money (see update 2). Do your shopping I found one at my local pet store for $50.00 and found one online for $25 with free shipping! With the one-year warranty, what do you have to lose?

*Beware if you have smaller turtles it does create a 'suction' area just like other canister filters and small turtles may become trapped.

UPDATE: 6 months later, this filter is still working like a charm! We had a small problem with the fliter not priming after a cleaning once, but it turned out that I had mixed up the way something went on, so it was my fault. After reading more, the ceramic blocks never need to be replaced, just rinsed, and the foam part doesn't need to be replaced unless it's showing wear. If the foam does need to be replaced, the replacement foam is around $4. After 6 months, we still haven't replaced the foam! We are pleased with how well this filter works.

UPDATE2: My husband went to clean our fantastic turtle filter and dropped one of the pieces down the sink drain! I thought for sure I'd need to buy an entire new filter. I was excited to learn that ZooMed has a an assortment of replacement items for 501 filters! I didn't need to buy a new filter, just a small $4 part! Also, the ceramic pieces are sold (if you hate cleaning yours) for around $6. Mine are on a year and show little wear. I'm so pleased with this purchase and quality of customer service from ZooMed!

I have a red-eared slider and have tried many other filters at reasonable prices for a 20 gallon tank. It is a good buy for the money. This one so far is the best because all of the algae is in the tubes or in the filter kept on the outside of the tank. It is less stuff to clean. You will definitely need a small brush to clean the tubes and change the carbon once every two weeks. I tried cleaning the carbon filter and using it again but the tank does not stay as clean.

Read Best Reviews of Zoo Med 501 Turtle Canister Filter Here

As others have mentioned, the instructions for the filtration media placement are at odds with the images displayed on the boxfollow the box (ceramic on bottom, carbon on top). More importantly, the carbon media that the filter comes with is much too full. In other words, if you put all of the ceramic media on the bottom, and then attempt to shove the carbon bag on top of it, you will end up with an overly packed filter, leading to difficult priming, low flow rate, and general frustration. As a test, try running the filter without the carbon bag, and see how much more readily the filter primes, as well as the drastic increase in flow rate.

My solution was to cut open the carbon bag and transfer some of its contents to a clean, thin sock. This would probably be an easy issue to troubleshoot for an experienced owner/user, but I imagine that most people looking to buy a small, low-cost unit like this do not fall into that categoryso hopefully, this saves some other novice owners a half-hour or so of frustration.

One additional note: the "activated" carbon that comes with this filter is worthless. I noticed no difference in water clarity, or in the time needed between changes, with the stock carbon (vs. no filter at all). With real activated carbon (the finely granulated kind you can buy from any pet store), performance improved dramatically (stock carbon = needed to change water once every 1-2 days, new/activated carbon = water still clear after 5-6 days). It may help to get a couple of different size filter bags to optimize the quantity of carbon you place in the filter body.

1/6/2012 update:

Having gained a bit more experience with caring for a RES, I'd have to say this is definitely a starter/supplemental filter. By itself, this should be adequate for a 10-15 gallon tank and a single, young RES, provided it is cleaned at least once a month (and assuming regular water changes according to tested parameters). However, an RES will quickly outgrow the capacity of this filter-easily within six months, unless you are willing to clean this out weekly.

That said, it's still a worthwhile purchase, as the size, quiet operation, reliability, and low power draw makes it a perfect supplement to a proper canister (I highly recommend the Rena XP3/XP4). My current setup is:

1. Rena XP3 with sponge pre-filter attached to intake. This does the heavy lifting and is mainly filled with biological media and some foam for mechanical filtration. The pre-filter keeps this from getting gunked up too quickly, but also means that larger particles remain in circulation for a longer period of time. Hence...

2. Zoo Med 501 with open intake (strainer removed-obviously this should be performed only if appropriate, i.e. no small fish or other critters that could get sucked up) and filled with ceramic media/coarse filter material, plus sponges. This efficiently captures larger particles and provides a bit of extra circulation to low-flow zones in the tank.

3. Sponge filter driven by an air pump for additional in-tank bio filtration.

4. Air stone for providing extra agitation to low-flow zones.

With this setup in a 50-gallon pond-style container, I only need to open the canister filters once every few months to perform a thorough cleaning. Partial/full water changes are, of course, still required, but that is an easy task compared to constant filter maintenance.

Bottom line-the 501 is a excellent value for all turtle owners. There aren't many low-cost, reliable, compact canister filters on the market, and this is definitely one of the better choices.

My advice to first-time purchasers is to ditch the carbon altogether and just use ceramic rings or comparable biological media (Seachem Matrix, API Bio-Chem stars, etc). Keep the round sponge filter as is, and be prepared to upgrade to a real canister filter very soon. If you have an additional $20 to spare, pick up an air pump, some 3/16 tubing, a check valve, a small air stone, and a Hydro sponge filter. The sponge filter will provide additional bio filtration and a small degree of mechanical cleaning.

If you feel the need to use activated carbon, the easiest way is to get a fine mesh filter bag and hang some carbon in the water (preferably in a high-flow area). You should be changing carbon every few weeks, and it's much easier to reach in and pull a filter bag out, than open a canister up; this also frees up valuable space in the 501 for more bio/mechanical media, which is what you really need for a turtle tank anyway.

Want Zoo Med 501 Turtle Canister Filter Discount?

I recently received two hatchling ear sliders as a gift. Having a 35 gallon hexagonal tank already, we re-outfitted it for turtle usage (floating island, turtle-safe heater, submersible filter, dual heat lamps [night and daylight], thermometers, etc.) and turned everything on. The submersible "drop in" filter was terrible. It did a barely competent job of keeping the water clean and it was loud. That's right, completely submerged, and it was louder than many over-the-back tank filters I have owned (came in a kit, so not a terrible suprise).

I obtained the 501, and now I wonder why I ever used another filter on any tank. This thing runs silent as the grave. Once the system gets any residual oxygen out of the lines, the only sound you hear is from the drip-tube (and if you angle the holes towards the back wall of the aquarium, you don't hear a thing). The suction is strong enough to really pull waste from the gravel at the opposite end of the tank, and the water cleared in less than two hours from its formerly murky state.

This aquarium also houses feeder fish for the turtles, and the detrius can build up quite quickly. No problem for the 501, plus with the drip tube given sufficient height over the water, I really have no need for an air bubbler, as the surface oxygen exchange is excellent with such a high flow rate/pressure.

An excellent buy, I give this product my highest recommendation.

26W Blue White Energy Saving Coral Plant Refugium Bulb For FinnexI have had the coralife bulb, the colormax bulb and this bulb. I have got to say this is the brightest, longest lasting and gives my tank the cleanest look of all three. First thing you notice is the difference in wattage. This bulb is 26Watts and the other two are only 10 watts a piece. For tanks larger than 5 gallons the other two are not enough! For SPS and Acros you need more watts per gallon than what the other two can produce. This bulb is perfect for my 3 gallon Pico and it doesn't produce that much heat at all. This bulb may be $4 more than the other two but you will be more than satisfied with this one.

I use 2 of these on my fuge and my macro algae grows like crazy. It also helps support the corraline which I could take or leave in my sump. I like that it grows the corraline because it releases spores back into the Display tank.

I had bought about six (or eight?) of these Bulbs, allure by the 26W and price. I put 2 of these in my planted 2Galons tank. At the beginning I was happy as it seemed to be a great deal and my plants were growing happy. However, after two or three months max, one of the bulbs went off. No problem, bad luck, I thought, and proceeded to replace the bad one. However, the same history has been going on and on, on a max of 2 months life for a bulb. I really like the bright and the price, but it is a pain having to replace at least too frequently.

I think I will move back to my old brand, less power (20W) but more dependable (+1 year).

I put two of these in my 14 gallon nano reef, and it looks great! You can really tell the difference from the 10 watt alternatives. My tank is responding well to the new light. A good buy!

I put two of these in my 10g nano saltwater tank and boy was it bright! Tank had way more then enough light, though it for sure is best for a refugium. Too much white light, zoo's didn't respond amazingly well to it, but it worked, star polyps sustained, didnt really grow a ton. Biggest let down is after only MAYBE 2 months the bulb burnt out. Now I have one of these on half my tank and a 10w 50/50 on the other I got from Petsmart. That side isnt as bright but the corals respond MUCH better. All and all, the light is bright, and would be great for refugiums, but keep it out of the main tank for sure.

Rio Plus 1700 Aqua Pump - 642 GPH

Rio Plus 1700 Aqua Pump - 642 GPHI use one of these pumps to power my Cichlid community tanks under gravel Jet system. (If curious about UGJ's look them up on Cichlid-forum)

It provides good water movement and excellent filtration thanks to the attached sponge filter. It is no louder than an air pump really and has no real drawbacks. as with all impeller driven pumps clean your impeller often and it will treat you good.

The water flow valve is also good if you, like me, like to lower the water flow in your tank at night to help the fish rest.

great little pump. very quiet, very powerful. plumbing allows for no restrictions on how much this little pump can push. it has to be cycling the water in my tank atleast 7 to8 times an hour.

i needed to replace the pump in my tank (after years) and the old one was a Rio, so i naturally started looking for the modern version. My research online scared me away from Rio because i was finding bad reviews on normally informative Reef Blogs so i decided to go to my Local Fish Store (LFS) who have yet to lead me wrong and ask some questions. Turns out they actually sell the Rio Plus and informed me that it's the industry standard at my size tank (50gal) and that i can find nicer pumps, but not without spending WAY more money for considerably minute results. I haven't used the pump yet, and will try to update the review, i just thought I'd let people know that this product was recommended to me by professionals that i trust.

Hydor AQUA COLOR UL Aquarium LED Light - Red

Hydor AQUA COLOR UL Aquarium LED Light - RedGives a cool lighting effect but what I really like is the intense amount of bubbles it puts out. --Does take up a little tank space but in a 55 gal tank it's no problem for me. Aeration is important for oxygen content and fish health. So far this product has the others beat. Also, does not need a seperate pump so for the price and quality I rate this 5 stars and highly recommend!

We have a 55gal planted tank that we wanted to add some night lighting too in addition to the LED's in our hood. Our water was perfectly clear when I put these in. Unfortunately they were not really bright enough to have any affect. I would guess that 4 or 5 would be required to adequately light our tank. At that price we would be better off buying the LED light kit that comes with a hub and has lights that plug into that.

There is also the issue that 4 or 5 of these would require there own power strip and timer.

Paw Seasons Extending Pet Gate

Paw Seasons Extending Pet GateVery easy to use. But not too easy for my grandson. Not bad to install, love the option to have the gate open one direction. NO BAR to step over, so this gate is not a trip issue for older family members. We have three of these gates, the first was harder to install than the last and you can take it off the wall mounts easily if needed to move larger items through a doorway. It may not cover your widest hallway so measure prior to purchase.

This gate is so much more convenient than the pressure-mounted gate I used before, especially being able to open and close it with one hand, and it won't fall down because it is mounted to the door frame. And since it doesn't touch the floor it doesn't scratch the floor. The gate only seems to open 90 degrees, which is fine for me because the room where the dogs are occasionally confined is at the end of a hallway, so the open gate lines up against a wall when hinged on the right. It is very convenient that you can choose whether to hinge it on either side. The gate width is also adjustable so it fits a range of door or walkway openings.

The closing mechanism is slightly difficult because it requires you to lift the somewhat heavy gate up a bit and then set the end bar down into the groove on top of the opposite wall mount. The gate is attached to the fixed side by sturdy metal springs which provides the required "give" to lift the gate. However I think this simple approach will last longer than other designs, especially as the gate is made of metal. Time will tell!

Loving Pets Dragonfly Bella Bowl for Pets, Small, 1-Pint, Turquoise

Loving Pets Dragonfly Bella Bowl for Pets, Small, 1-Pint, Turquoiselove the color, the price and that it has an anti skid bottom. Really nice quality and defintely would buy again

This bowl is adorable, I love the dragon flies on the side. However it slips and slides around a lot whenever my dog eats or drinks out of it even though there is a grip on the bottom. I now use this for trips in the car.
