TOM Aquarium Auto Fill System stand-alone, connect 3/4 bulk head

I have a 100-gallon marine tank that had a lot of evaporation, making it difficult to be away from home for any length of time. This "reserve" tank keeps the pump from running dry. I only wish you could daisy chain multiple reserves for long vacations. (Friends are happy to stop by and feed the fish, but they don't want to lug water bottles around.)

Update, 3-11-2012: I had been carrying the tank around by its "feet" when I refill it--don't do it. It cracked around the screw hole and now leaks. It still works, but I can't turn it over until I get it into the reservoir, because it leaks. I tried sealing it, but it didn't work.

So far I haven't been able to get it to work. There aren't any helpful hints or handy tips to guide me. I have the tank set up with valves open but none of the water gets used when needed.. The water level in the auto fill system does rise when I turn off my sump filter so I know there is not an obstruction. I am going to try raising the elevation of the auto fill tank next. In theory, gravity will have a better chance then as right now the sump and auto fill are about even with each other on elevation. If it works, it will be great!

Como 4-way Aquarium Air Flow Control Lever Valve w Airline Tubing Connector

These are far better than any of the overpriced and often flimsy plastic gang valves. They work smoothly, don't leak, and you can clearly see by the position of each lever how much air is being fed to each attachment.

The only improvement would be adding a means to hang it on a tank. Almost perfect.

The construction is solid metal, and you can remove the black cap on the other side to either extend your tubing, or simply run to the other outlet on your air pump (assuming you have one)

The only gripe is with adjusting air delivery. Very fine adjustments are needed if you need certain amounts of air down a tube. This may take a little patience, if your adjusting a lot.

It would be nice if it had some kind of mount to attach it to things.

I made one mistake, I looked directly at the light when I first turned it on to test it.

When I put the light over my tank the light penetrated all the way to the bottom, and the color was great. My tank is 26" deep and I've had trouble getting lights that can penetrate that deep. This light does it covers the whole front of the tank.

My light comes with a connector to add 2nd light as soon as I can. I was told that the manufacture was changing the fixture so you will be required to buy a the splitter as a seperate purchase.

I bought 2 24" strips, and I should not have. These do what they say they do. They are BRIGHT! I really didn't need this much light over a 50 gallon planted tank. Ordering the 8,000K strip next.

I replaced two 65w bulbs with these lights. I got the diamond white and fusion strips. They work really well together. Provides enough light for my 52 gallon corner tank. If you are looking to have coral, you need to keep them up high (few inches away from the water level) because just 2 will not produce enough light to reach the bottom. 4 of these will definitely do it.

TOM Aquarium Perch-Light Fixture 9W w/Compact Flo Lamp, 6400K D

I use this over an AC70 refugium and my Chaeto is growing quite well. Based on the 6400 light I would imagine this would work well in a planted mini FW tank (5 gallons or less) so long as it wasn't too deep and the plants weren't super high intensity plants.

Fit on the edge of my AC70 easily. I understand the bulbs must be bought from TOM which is a little unfortunate. They also make a 50/50 bulb for small nano-reefs.

I've had mine for a few weeks now, so far so good. The bad thing about is the bulbs have to buy the Tom's bulbs I guess. I've been using it on my HOB Refugium to grow chaeto and its worked well so far for that. The bracket is adjustable and should fit most rimless tanks/fuges/filters it can be swiveled in any direction and the angle of light can be adjusted as well.

Have had this for a little over a week but so far, so good. Light is adjustable horizontally and vertically (even though vertically is kind of useless from the given angels). Only complaint is I wish the light was a bit lower. It puts itself about 3.5 to 4in above the water line. I have this light on a 4 gallon Finnex tank which should be enough light with the "2 watts per gallon rule". Will update on how my plants do in the long run. My tank being a rectangle, kind of wished the light would attach horizontal. Kind of hard to explain but like this JBJ 3 Gallon Picotope Curved Glass Aquarium . Makes for a cleaner look.

This is the worst product I have ever bought on amazon! The branches are loosely glued to the base with green glue that is sticky and soft, and ugly. Tendrils and globs of the glue are all over the leaves. The whole plant makes your hands sticky. I would never put a product in my fish tank that had glue bits stuck all in it! The base is cheap, roughly painted, and it came chipped. And this plant smells like microwaved crayons! Much stronger than any other fake plant I have smelled, I have no reason to believe this is aquarium safe.

Plant looks fine but has a strong odor. Afraid it will make fish sick if i put in fish tank.

I bought this for my 50 gallon Asian themed tank. Shipped quickly and arrived sooner than expected. It was a little squished together from packaging but once rinsed under warm water and manipulated a little it looks great! The darker color and height makes it a nice background piece, but best of all is it is attached to a heavy base! Because it sinks, it makes placing it (and keeping it in place with fish who like to move rocks around) easy! Will buy again!

Our Hermit Crab really liked this food. It seemed to disappear a little quicker then some so it must be tasty.

I upgraded the crabs tank from the tiny thing it gets when you buy one on the boardwalk to an actual tank and purchased this to replace the food they sold us which was basically gone by the end of the vacation. well its been some time now since i put this in the tank and he still has not touched it at all. The only thing this crab seems to eat is the driftwood in the tank. Wont eat fruits or veggies either and im amazed its even still alive.

AquaTop Aquarium Heater - 100W

Lesson learned: You get what you pay for. The Aqueon 06106 Pro Heaters Submersible Aquarium Heater, 100-Watt works better (it was recommended to me) but it's almost twice the price on Amazon and even more at the pet store so I got this. I bought it the last week of June to treat ick in a tank. It was always about 3 degrees off but I dealt with it. I used it occasionally, I'd say I used this heater for a total of 15 days before it malfunctioned. I decided about a week ago to buy some tropical fish and I tried to get this to heat to a constant 77 degrees. Worked fine before bed, but I woke up the next morning to dead fish and a tank temperature of 86 to 88 degrees! It was HOT in there! I call the company and what do I hear?

"Maybe your thermometers are inaccurate." BOTH OF THEM?

"Is it hot outside your house?" Does it matter? The tank is INSIDE my house, and my room temperature is a steady 68 degrees. I live in the Arctic. No, it is not hot outside my house.

I don't know about you, but when I get asked stupid questions like that by people blaming everything but their product for a malfunction, I get kind of annoyed. I was promised a refund by the guy I called for support, then their returns department denied it because I've had the unit for almost 3 months. They said they do not issue refunds after 14 days, and if I want to use the warranty I have to pay to ship the item to them! For a $16 heater, that is not even worth my time or money paying to ship it back, let alone the cost of gas to drive to the post office! What kind of "customer service" is that? I'm sure they bet on people not bothering to pay return shipping for the warranty and instead buy a new one!

This heater was not accurate from the start. If it's going to kill my fish and I have to "re-calibrate it" (their suggestion) over and over again to get it to work temporarily, I am not going to use it and risk a repeat of fish casualties. I unplugged it, pulled it out of the water 10 minutes later and it burnt my hand it was so hot. It smelled strongly of burnt rubber. Unsafe. Do not buy Aquatop!!! Spend a few bucks more on a quality product.

Last time I am buying an Aquatop product of any kind!

I'm enjoying this heater so far.

I have a 20 gallon tall aquarium, it was a kit purchased from Petsmart that included a filter and heater. However, starting with the first day I was having problems with the included heater. No mater how many times I nudged the temperature nob down, it always found its way back to 82 degrees which is 4 degrees warmer than I wanted. Eventually I decided enough was enough and bought this 100W heater as a replacement.

So far everything works perfectly. I left it running for a day and saw that it too had the water at 82 degrees with the nob set at 78. Ugh, not again! However, this heater allows you to 'calibrate' the dial by lifting the red peg on top, and rotating the dial to the temperature your tank is at. I did so, changing it 82, then pushed the red peg back in, and turned the dial down to 78. Day 2 comes around, and all three thermometers agree the tank is now at 78! Perfect =)

Two weeks later, the temperature has been rock solid. It's February so the house is the coldest it will usually be throughout the year and it's performing perfectly, we keep the house at 65 during the night.

This heater is all black in color, and has an orange LED that turns on whenever the heater is on. The top features a dial with actual temperature numbers and not arbitrary numbers (for example 1-10). As mentioned above, if it is keeping a temperature other than what it says, you can adjust the dial and recalibrate it. Chances are you'll never change the dial again, but is useful in any case if you have the misfortune of getting sick fish, for example ich where treatment requires a rise in temperature.

This heater is fully submersible, even though it does have a max water line on it (I think this is for Canada regulations).

I will update this review if I ever have a problem with it, no updates means it is still working perfectly.

I will never again purchase any AquaTop (TruAqua) product.

I purchased the 100w heater with digital display over a year ago. Just past the one year mark, the heater stopped functioning properly. The thermostat got stuck on 90 degrees (normally 74). I sent the heater back to AquaTop with a letter documenting what had happened and requesting a replacement. Surely a company that warranties a product for 12 mos would not want a disatisfied customer with a useless heater that only lasted 14 mos. An email conversation began between Albert in the Returns Dept and myself. He stated he was unable to be of assistance. I responded requesting a new heater or a credit toward a heater purchase. No dice. I requested a supervisor and was refused one. Finally Albert conceeded by offering me half off the same model ($39.99 regular price, $20 for me). I agreed. When the new heater arrived, there was condensation inside the glass tube and the box was marked with a special sticker (possibly a return from another customer or a "refurbished" unit). I tried the heater out anyway. It did not even last a week before the display went to all 8's and the thermostat got stuck on an undesired temperature. I again emailed Albert for resolution. He asked me to send him evidence (photos) of the issues. I complied. He sent me an RMA number and UPS label and I returned the unit. I went online immediately to purchase a new heater. The exact same model on Amazon and on the TruAqua website was $14.99. He gave me a "deal" by charging me $20? Weeks later, after emailing Albert again, I received my $20 back. TruAqua aka AquaTop is difficult to do business with, rude to their customers (and I have been a loyal customer for YEARS), and they intentionally overcharged me for the item. No thank you!

This sucker cracked the first night I tried to use it. Maybe giving it 20 mins submerged in my tank wasn't enough time for the glass to adjust, but I maintain a half dozen tanks with 2 heaters each and this is the 1st time I've ever had one fail like this. It wasn't a spectacular fail that lit up the tank or killed all my fish (thank god) but a cracked glass shell and a failed unit none the less. And no, before you comment or ask if I just chucked it in the tank and fired it off, I didn't. Like I said, it was unplugged and submerged for a full 20 mins before I tried it. Then I plugged it in and approximately 30 to 45 sec later it cracked and I could see a faint trail of "tiny little bubbles" comeing from said crack. Unplugged and pulled the thing out and sure enough "done". I won't slam or badmouth Aquatop over this, I own plenty of their other products and am quite pleased with them(tank heaters included), just had a bad experience with this one.

I'm a little hesitant to write this review as it's not a positive one and it seems that most people are quite happy with the product so maybe I got a defective one? I have no idea but I speak the truth on what's happening. This thing is not silent at all. I guess I fell prey to "silent" being in the name and chose it but if this is silent I would hate to hear a loud one. The pump is fully submerged. Water going in and out I guess is silent but the vibration created by the pump is HUGE. It vibrates the entire plumbing outake running through the aquarium which then vibrates the wood stand. This all creates a very loud HUMMMMM, (jokingly in the key of D for any musicians out there). Jokes aside though, it's very loud sitting next to my tv and stereo. I can muffle the vibration a little by holding the plumbing I did in a variety of ways and plan on securing the plumbing with insulation and straps to hold everything tight against the wood stand. This only minimizes the hum by the way. It doesn't eliminate it. If this method doesn't work I'd like to know how I'm going to figure it out or else I will have no choice but buy another pump. Over $100 is a LOT to throw away but this is by far the loudest thing running in the aquarium set up and it's ALL vibration. Somehow minimize the vibration it creates and it would be a nice pump but sheesh, should I have to DIY the thing like crazy to make it useable?

Let me start by saying that I invested heavily in my system to make sure that it was silent. I have spent 7-months "building it" with nearly custom everything. It is a 65G custom rimless Starphire setup with a Herbie overflow to a custom 20G rimless sump. The sump is sitting on 3/8" neoprene and the pump is sitting on a pump vibration pad from Bulk Reef Supply. The return and drain plumbing is all braided vinyl hose. So there is nothing connected which is fixed from the tank and stand to the sump. Everything is flexible, which should transfer no vibration and noise.

For the past week, I have been testing my system out with pure RO/DI water. There is absolutely nothing in the tank to clog or get in the impeller of the pump. And everything else is brand new. Several days ago, the pump has started to make a rather annoying vibrating, rattling sound. The sound gets louder as I increase the intake volume using the adjustable volute. Keep in mind I have only had this pump running for a week in pure RO/DI water and nothing else.

I thought the other reviewers were having problems because of user error or that their systems may have not been designed with silence in mind. However, now I agree with the other reviewers wholeheartedly. This pump is noisy and the sound keeps us up at night. This is with the tank in a completely different room. I am in the process of trying to find another pump. This was just going to be a temporary pump until the new Waveline pumps are available and then be a backup pump in case I ever needed it. However, I am returning this because I don't even want to keep it as a backup pump.

Functions as intended. Quiet, I mean super quiet. Suction cup feet are practically worthless, I had to balance the pump on them in the wet/dry, they do not install securely to the pump. That's the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

The pump is quiet, very well made, small for its output, came with 2x adapters to fit 0.75 and 1" hose, and makes very little heat my tank temperature dropped the day after I replaced my Mag drive 9.5.

The plastic casing is high quality, not brittle and easily discolored like other brands. The tool-less maintenance is a huge plus, as is the fused magnet-ceramic shaft impeller, which won't

slow the pump down as it cannot lock up with calcium precipitate. The ends of the ceramic shaft are seated in ceramic bushings, which also resist precipitation.

I will update this review when I perform my first maintenance/cleaning.

To start, the light lost one of the tubes after 1 month of service, not from the tube burning out but due to the fixtures end caps being garbage, that coupled with the external ballast that reached temps of over 185 degrees F(as read with my laser therm)I thought this would be something Marineland would want to hear about...how wrong I was, after they sent me a defective replacement light they stopped replying to email and phone calls to rectify the situation. The second ballast actually melted the plug, and still no response from Marineland. Enter the BBB and low and behold a complete refund for the system. I have since replaced the light fixture with a led system and it fits nicely under the hood. The hood is a good looking and functional filter hood, it is a shame that they would not stand by their product.

Seachem Reef Buffer 250gram

I lost all control of my reef tank. Brown algae were screaming out of my tank my corals were dying. Dozens of water changes with zero results I was ready to scrap the tank. I had picked one of these at my LFS and overnight my tank turned around I have been adding it to my tank ever since. I just couldn't explain why nor could MY LFS which at the end I had testing my water. Every test had my tank in spec. I mix this and the reef builder together into my top off water and it works great my corals are very happy and I haven't turn my tank into target practice. I can alway tell when I forget to add it my tank starts to do poorly.

It does what it says and works great. Ill use this product always or unless seachem makes something better. I don't know how they would top this product.

Jardin Fish Tank Aquarium Releases Bubbles Column Design, Air Stone

My last bubbler was a sick that stuck to the side of the tank, with a wimpy flow of bubbles. I replaced it with this, which I didn't stick down. My fish shoves it around and plays in the bubbles, which are copious. He's a happy guy!

This air stone gives out good consistent bubbles and it is weighted enough to stay down on the gravel at the bottom of the tank. I can not comment on its durability as I have only had it in my tank for a few weeks. Most of the air stones that I have purchased like this, have usually lasted 4 to 5 months. Similar air stones can be found at Pets Mart that don't cost as much.

Great product. The lamps are slightly smaller then their competitors to fit into the very tight Current hoods. If you choose another companies replacement lamp you many find it too long / thick to fit.

So far so good. My dog is a big chewer and so far he has not chewed through the rope on this toy. He loves the squeeky balls so much he chews those instead. I plan to purchase another one.

I love this toy Mom & Dad bought for me, too. I literally will run until I fall over dead to play with this toy as long as Daddy will throw it. Daddy throws it out in the back yard and I fetch it back to him, but he usually doesn't play with me as long as I would like to play.

Anyway, I LOVE this toy and Mom & Dad do, too!!

Well I was hesitant on spending $10 on this and I was right unfortunately. It lasted about 20 minutes before 1 ball didnt squeak and 10 minutes later neither squeaked. Weird thing is there is no visible damage at all I cant see why its not working maybe the squeakers are crushed internally. They were not being aggressive or chewing it, we were just playing fetch. And it was smaller than I expected. I read the other reviews but bought it anyway because I have multiple dogs and there aren't many toys that can be shared. On the plus side it does have a nice bounce and u can throw it like a bola. But if squeaking is a must this toy is not for you.

We bought this toy for our 2 boston terriers. They absolutely love squeekers, but they usually only last less than 24 hours. Our dogs may only be 25 lbs each, but they play like their 60 lb pitbulls. We've had the toy for over 2 weeks now, and there is not a single hole in the balls, the rope isn't frayed at all and BOTH squeekers still work!!! $10 is a lot for a dog toy, but we pay anywhere from 3-6 at walmart for other toys that last less than a couple days. We will most certainly be buying another! Highly recommended!

This toy didn't last as long as I'd hoped. My 60 pound puppy loved it, and we did get to play tug for a few days. Once he started chewing the rope it was over though. The rope isn't terribly durable, but we still have the balls, which have squeakers in them. My dog has started carrying them around the house and chasing them. This toy is a little pricey in my opinion, but was still fun, and if you don't mind the rope not lasting with a heavy chewer, then it's a great toy!
