Aquavista 500 Wall Mounted Aquarium with Seaweed Background

Aquavista 500 Wall Mounted Aquarium with Seaweed Background, Black FrameThe instructions are pretty skimpy, but not much assembly is required since most accessories (heater, air pump, lamp, background) are built into the unit.

After securing the wall bracket and putting the bio rings on the filter sponge, the book says to fill it with water, then hang it on the wall bracket. I thought, why risk a crippling back injury? Hanging it BEFORE adding the water seemed more sensible, and using a bucket and step stool was easier for me.

It comes with a net, the gravel, a long-handled "grabber", a suction hose for water changes, a scrubber, 3 sponge filters and about 50 bio-rings for the filtering system. The air pump for the bubbler is a little loud, but you can turn it on or off with the electric control. The temperature, lights, and filtering are all controlled with the side panel, either automatically or manually. You always have to reset the clock should you need to turn the tank off, but your other settings are retained and the constant temperature readout is in nice big numbers.

The T-4 lighting tube didn't work from the getgo, so I attempted to unscrew the lamp cover and check the connections. The screws are tiny T-9 torx-head, but the fixture was DOA. Customer service did send me a new one, however.

The top flips up for access, and the unit has a 3/8" thick 6 ft. electrical cord. I wanted to hide it with cord cover, but it's a little big so I'll probably just paint it grey to match my wall.

There's not much floor space for decor and plants, but adding a few is good for the fish and adds depth and beauty to the background. On top, the small surface area of water-to-air restricts the amount of water oxygenation, so use the air pump a lot to compensate.

Being only about 4 inches wide limits the choice of occupants who can actually turn around in it. The booklet suggests several species that would be too large within a couple of months, so please disregard unless you plan on buying a larger aquarium soon. After cycling the tank through its deadly ammonia spike, I finally decided on 4 fancy guppies. They're a small but hardy and active species, and come in beautiful colors. It might also make a good Betta tank, since the filtering system is gentle, but they don't like rapid water movement or air bubblers.

Keep in mind that the small water volume is less forgiving and can quickly turn poisonous from fish waste, so plan on doing more frequent water changes and maintenance than the book suggests. I siphon out 1/3, or two gallons, every week and replace it with fresh, dechlorinated tap water of the same temperature.

For the price I wish I had bought a bigger tank, but there's a premium for convenience and "living art", and it does look pretty cool on my wall, I have to admit. As long as you're aware of its limitations, it should bring you lots of enjoyment.

This tank looks good for few months, but since the filter is so small eventually it can't handle keeping the tank clean. The site has no directions on maintaining tank, or replacement filters? Barely any room to clean the tank. Good concept but not good in the long run, tank looks terrible now (green) fish aren't too happy. HELP!?!?

Buy Aquavista 500 Wall Mounted Aquarium with Seaweed Background Now

I have had my Aquavista for about two months. It is low maintenance and we really love it. If you check out their website and click on the "parts" tab a window comes up which says "check next week". It has said that since I bought the thing, they have tons of frames but for some reason no parts. My guess is they either don't have parts, which is scary, or their parts are so high priced they would rather not list them on the web site. I am going to be ready for a new filter soon and I am not quite sure what will happen with that. Another warning, once you mount it to the wall you will never get the thing off again without bending the bracket. The directions were skimpy at best and we really wish we had known this along with some other things we had to learn the hard way. Overall I think it is one of the better wall mount tanks on the market. Expect some aggravation with the skimpy directions and probably parts.

First, I would like to say that if you are considering buying this product, you should read this. I was very mislead by the youtube videos, and all the product reviews on this product. I have had this product for over 6 months. Let me explain to you, my story.

1. Purchased Product, Received Product fairly quick. Missing Mint Cloth, Screws & Hardware, also the entire lightning balast system /including bulb.

No problem? Just exchange it right? Wrong. 2nd Product Received with the same accessories missing plus a plastic part on the aquiarum cover/lid was broke off. And instead of the aquarium saying Aquavista (under where the frame goes, it said "china" embedded in the plastic.)

Hmm.. I think to myself.. This can't happen a third time can it? Why, Yes it can! It came from china. Same missing accessories: Screws & Hardware, cloth, lightning ballast system + bulb. Wow, Right off the bat someone would rate this a 1 star.. Not me, I'm willing to give it a shot!

I call Amazon, they told me to contact Aquavista. Aquavista Customer Service Support was very nice, they sent me Lightning Ballast + bulb that i had to install / + free filters.

After setting up this aquarium, i had bought my own pebbles / Rocks. ( this will become a nightmare as small rocks will fall in the filteration area and become stuck). I followed the manual, waited to put fish in tank.

I have had a horrible time with this tank, I have to clean this tank at least once every week otherwise the tank becomes filthy and fish start dying. I have had horrible, horrible experiences with this tank. Here's one to mention. One morning, GloTetra Disappeared. Hmm.. Where he go? Called aquavista. They told me to check behind the aquarium background. (was really fun trying to take this off after setting aquarium up.) Long story short, in the bottom right side of tank, theres a small hole (between black filter cover and background in corner of tank) where little fishies can get through. SO, Mr. Fish was stuck behind the tank. Long story short, becasue i had to bend background alittle to get fish on other side, small rocks fell between the plastic and background to where the picture would not fit the way it should. Had to take the entire tank apart, fake aquarium plants, small ship, fish, rocks.. everything. This was truely a nightmare. This didn't happen once, but three times. Once with a albino frog (didn't have to take the tank apart because he was easier to get) and also a neon tetra who is decaying in the bottom of the tank under the black filter. Oh yes, this causes disease and all fish will die, Except my Pleco + Frog. I have bought a water testing kit before all of this happened, and the ammoneia levels were extremely high. (50-100% water changes + cleaning of all objects/rocks) per week. To top things off? If you accidently overfill the aquarium with water (there is a meter) water will drip on your floor. But one time dripped on the right side instead of the left side. This caused the LCD touchpad + Screen to short out. Aquavista customer server was extremely nice, and sent me another one for me to replace. I paid $ 140 160 for this product and felt that I extremely over paid for cheap china plastic and poor quality. Poor Filtration in a 5.5 Gal = Death to all fish (cept pleco+frog or other high immune system species)

I would not have gotten this product if I would have known all of this could happen. It's truely a beautiful tank when it is lit up and turned on. Then the beautiful moment is ruined by fish who sink to the bottom of your tank lifeless and dead. Go to your local pet store to buy an aquarium worth spending this much money on.

If I could rate 0 stars, I would. This was possibly the worst purchase I have ever made. It is kind of a hassle to hang and I hang a lot of stuff on walls for a living, there is no room for the cord behind and the bracket is cheap. Once you get it up, it looks nice until the water overflows out the overfill drain even before it gets up to the max level mark, pouring water all over your couch or whatever is underneath. Small fish disappear, big fish swim out the overfill drain and are impossible to get out. Basically there is nothing good about it.

Lixit Corporation DLX0686 No Drip Dog Top-Fill Water Bottle, 44-Ounce

Lixit Corporation DLX0686 No Drip Dog Top-Fill Water Bottle, 44-OunceJust received it this evening, followed set up directions and it started leaking before I could even finish filling it up. I emailed the Lixit company customer service department and actually received a response back almost immediately AND the customer service rep was actually on vacation...now THAT is service!!! She suggested to dismantal the tube parts and reassemble and it works perfectly now. Because this company uses USA Adults with Disabilities to assemble this product, there is a chance that some are assembled incorrectly (not machine assembled)...I love that they employ these U.S. individuals...so it is worth it to have the fix myself in a matter of a few minutes to support companies like this!

The bottle itself seems to work well--no drips unless something is pushing the stopper ball around. I got it because my dog is a very sloppy water drinker and doesn't seem to swallow his last gulps--just drools it all over the floor. Raising the bowl helped some, I thought this bottle might eliminate the problem. But it's more like a tease of water for him than a drink. If I push the stopper ball in and hold it there with my finger, than it becomes more than a trickle of water--but the dog can't do that and drink at the same time. So, for him, it's just a tease--he keeps licking the ball and getting tiny drops of water, but I think he'd have to be there for 20 minutes to get a real drink! Maybe if he learned when he was younger? Anyway, in case someone else is looking at this bottle as a solution for the same problem, thought I'd let you know that the bottle itself works--but it didn't work out for us!

Update--my sister (who is more experienced with dogs than I am) opined that the dog could very well be getting more water than it seemed. She said dogs don't get very much by lapping water up, either. It apparently just seems like they do. Anyway--she convinced me to give the bottle another chance, and to note how much the dog actually consumed by paying attention to how much water was missing, not how much dripped at any time from the spout. So I tried again. The dog laid down and seemed to be quite happy licking the spout, so I left her there. In two minutes, he'd punctured both the side and the top of the bottle. So, I learned this bottle is not for big chewers. Now I'm looking for a glass bottle. Sigh......

Buy Lixit Corporation DLX0686 No Drip Dog Top-Fill Water Bottle, 44-Ounce Now

This "No Drip" bottle is FALSE ADVERTISING, either that or I got a bad bottle. I must say, if it had worked...I would have no problem giving this product 5 stars because it is so versatile in the fact it can attach to the outside or inside of the cage with out any tools to assemble. The snap in feature allows you to place the water bottle anywhere in the cage and you can pivot the bottle to whichever angle you choose. The flip top cap only makes it that much more convenient rather than taking it off a metal stand or unscrewing the ball point cap to refill. However, all these great features are USELESS when the bottle will not stop dripping! I just received the bottle and immediately put it up, I thought I would give it a little time to seal off the water from coming out though it's not suppose to have a problem because it does not operate like the other vacuum ball point dispensers. Well one drenched towel and whole bottle of water later....still dripping. I'm being patient here, so I gave it a run again. Filling the bottle up and placing a glass cup to catch the water drips. A few hours have gone by and the dripping is still happening. I don't suppose this is normal.

Update: I have been contacted by the seller, they apologized and had notified me they would send a new bottle...never received a replacement.

I have never had a bottle that lived up to it's claims. This bottle meets and exceeds them. No more worries about a bottle leaking. Works perfectly every time you fill it. And because it doesn't work on vacuum, it never needs to be cleaned. Dirty water never gets pulled back up into the tube. Lixit is awesome for coming up with this.

Well, I do have to agree with the other reviewers claiming this thing leaks. The first time I added water, there was a steady drip. I was actually very close to returning it, when i decided to mess around with it a little. What I found was, you have to be VERY careful when tightening the water dispensing end. It turns out I over tightened it initially. I backed the end off a bit and all of the sudden...PERFECTION. Doesn't leak a drop now. I knocked a star off because this obviously should have been stated in the directions on the packaging. My Lab pup picked up on how it works almost immediately. All in all, im satisfied with my purchase.

Tetra 26579 Cylinder Prefilter for Water Garden Pumps

Tetra 26579 Cylinder Prefilter for Water Garden PumpsThis is a simple submerged pump pre-filter. I got it for my Tetra 1000 gph pond pump. It's not very big, about 7 inches long and 4.5 inches in diameter. It comes with a foam insert already, you won't need to buy one.

What's in the kit:

1 plastic pre-filter (cylinder)

1 foam core (coarse)

1 4" long 1" diameter hose

1 3/4" tube fitting

1 1" tube fitting

1 1.25" tube fitting (fits my pump but doesn't fit this filter!)

Using the fittings and the hose you attach the pre-filter to the pump. The pump draws the water in through this pre-filter and basically works as a coarse filter to catch large pieces of junk in the pond from fouling up the impeller in the pump motor. I've used other filters like this before and you'll need to remove the foam insert at least once a week to clean it out with a jet of water from the hose. If you don't, the water intake will be slowed down considerably and that could damage the pump.

The surface area of the filter material isn't great so I'd only recommend using this for smaller ponds (maybe 500 gallons or so) but so far it works great. With the warming of the weather there has been a lot of new algae growth in the water and over night this filter pretty much cleared the pond of the stuff.

One problem with this filter is that the fittings don't really fit like they're supposed to. The outlet of this filter is 1 inch and the inlet of my Tetra pump (which it is supposed to work with) is 1.25 inches, so you'll need to buy some adapters and hose clamps from the hardware store. I also attached a handle to the filter opening so that it will be easy to open and take the filter to be washed. Overall, once you've got the adapter this filter works great, and it's a really great price as well.

Update: I had to go to the hardware store to find step up and down adapters because the filters and the pump had different size hoses but I've found that Laguna sells hose fittings and adapters that make connections between different sized hoses a snap. Just follow the links below:

Laguna Y-Connector Supplied with 3 Click-Fit Connectors, 1-1/4-Inch

Laguna Multi Hose Adapter, 3/4 to 1-1/2-Inch

3 week update: So far this filter has worked extremely well. It's very easy to clean, I just pull it up with a hook and take the foam out and rinse off. In 3 days (at the most) it filtered out all the suspended stuff that was in my pond and the water is crystal clear now. On further reading the instruction manual (which Tetra should put on it's website as a pdf file) I've found that you can serially attach 2 of these filters end to end to make a longer filter, and at the current extremely discounted price, there is no reason not to!

Pros:

1) Price, price, price!

2) Modular system.

3) Very easy to maintain.

4) Works very well so far.

5) I've read that Tetra has good customer service, hope I won't have to use them. They even have an 800 number listed on the box.

Cons:

Needed to get adapters for the hose because intake and outlets not fitting with other Tetra products it was supposed to, but not a big deal now that it's done.

1 year update:

I went totally overboard with this and now have 4 of these pre-filters. I attached them 2 on each side of the pump with a Y-connector. It clears up all the debris and algae in the water so my water is crystal clear. And because I have 4 of them, I don't need to clean them every week. I have them in series so when the first one is gunked up, the next one will take over. Totally rocks!

Easy to clean, works well in my 150 gal garden pond, my goldfish are thriving in FL! Item arrived promptly, easy to install.

This filter is a great concept, however, my pump wouldn't pull any water through it, the holes were way too big for my pump to move any water through the filters.

Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini

Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini, 25-WattMy betta lives in a 1.5-gallon tank, which is a difficult size for which to find a reliable heater. I've been trying for the past eight months or so to find one that (a) would keep the water warm enough for the fish but (b) wouldn't boil the fish alive.

In my quest, I've tried two Marineland heaters. Neither one worked the way it was supposed to, and yes -I DID follow the instructions, to the letter. These are the ones I tried:

1. The Marineland Shatterproof 10-Watt Mini Heater (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00176DUEY/ref=oss_product) for tanks up to 3 gallons. This one barely kept the water at 74 degrees (even though it's supposedly factory preset for 78) and it only worked for a couple weeks. It quit, and I was back to wrapping a human's heating pad around the tank while I searched for a replacement.

2. The Shatterproof Mini Heater 10watt (http://www.amazon.com/MarineLand-SHATTERPROOF-MINI-HEATER-10WATT/dp/B0037PJMMC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1286290350&sr=8-4), also for tanks up to 3 gallons. This one heated the water into the high 80s, even though it, too, was supposedly factory preset for 78. I don't know how much higher it would have gone, and I didn't dare leave it on overnight for fear I'd be facing a boiled fish in the morning. I yanked it out of the tank and went back to the heating pad.

Finally, I found the Elite Submersible Preset Mini Heater 25W Elite A748. It's compact, it's unobtrusive, and it actually works as advertised. After a little fiddling with the adjustable control, my betta is now comfy and cozy at about 76 degrees. I don't have to worry about it boiling him overnight, and the tank stays warm even now that the nights are starting to get chilly and our house hovers at 69 degrees. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far I'm very happy with it.

I'll try to remember to update this review after a few months, but for right now, my recommendation is to avoid Marineland products -or at least, the ones with "factory presets." Maybe their adjustable ones are better, but my Marineland experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.

UPDATE: It is now Feb. 9, 2011, and the heater is still going strong, despite several power blinks and outages during a recent Midwest blizzard. My fish is happy. I am happy. Life is good.

UPDATE #2: It is now June 18, 2012. I just realized I hadn't given an update on this item and figured it would be worthwhile. Sadly, "Sushi" has left us due to natural causes, but this little gem worked like a champ right up until we didn't need it anymore, sometime during the 2011 holidays. Now it's in storage, waiting for another fish to warm, should we choose to get one.

This little guy heats my 1 gallon tank to a toasty 80 degree's for my tropical female betta and shes THRIVING!!!! Lol. I'm planning to get a 2.5 gallon soon (piggy bank is slowly getting heavier), and i'm sure this little heater will do the job.

It was hard to find a heater small enough for my daughter's little 1 1/2 gallon tank that had an adjustable thermostat. We've had this one for a few weeks now and it seems to work perfectly.

I heard a bubbly noise coming from the fish tank. I walked over and looked to see what it was and the heater had water in it. It then proceeded to explode in the fish tank. Thank You Hagen for trying to assassinate my turtles... They evaded your execution attempts once again..

I Unplugged it right as it was bursting so i dont know what kind of damage it would have caused. But the 2 hours seperating glass was a blast.

Want Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini Discount?

Bought this to heat a 2.5 gallon aquarium. Heater easily attaches to the side of the aquarium and is fully submersible. There are no temperature markings on the heater as it is small and there is no room for a temperature display like the 50 watt and higher Elite non-mini heaters.

To properly adjust the heater, first submerge the heater in the aquarium and allow the heater to adjust to the aquarium temperature before plugging it. Allowing the heater to adjust to the temperature of the water will also give time to find out if there is a leak in the heater. Alternatively to check for leaks is to place the heater in a bucket of water for a few hours to see if it takes on water. Do not use a heater that leaks or is cracked or damaged, it will kill your fish and possibly you.

Adjust the heater to the lowest setting. Once the heater has adjusted to the aquarium temperature (and there are no leaks), plug it in and turn the knob to slowly increase the thermostat setting in the heater until the light comes on.

Allow the heater to heat until the light goes out, check the temperature with your aquarium thermometer and allow the heater to cycle on and off for a few hours. If the temperature is not high enough, turn the dial again until the heater turns back on (light will illuminate). Allow the heater to cycle on and off again for a few hours and check the temperature again. Repeat this until the desired temperature is reached.

This is a nice heater for smaller aquariums and I recommend it to others.

Cobalt Aquatics 100-Watt Neo-Therm Electronic Heaters for Aquarium

Cobalt Aquatics 100-Watt Neo-Therm Electronic Heaters for AquariumI bought this heater because I don't like to use glass thermometers in my tank. I've had them break and develop condensation in as little as a few weeks of use. I liked the style of this heater and decided to give it a try. It's very solid, easy to use and holds the temperature very well. It is not as noticeable in the tank as many of the other heaters are and because of its slim size, it is easy to hide behind plants and other aquarium decor.

This heater is the best investment yet! It keeps the water within 0.5 degree of set temperature as advertised. I am very pleased!

Pros

electronic chip turns the heater on/off instead of a spring that expands (glass heaters)

plastic slim instead of bulky glass

accurate temp reading matches the temp of a external controller

con

suction cup attracts a lot of dirt

pricey almost twice the cost vs regular heaters

led light never turns off always on can be annoying

Aquarian Betta Fish Pellet Food, 1-Ounce

Aquarian Betta Fish Pellet Food, 1-Ouncei bought this for my betta fish because of the price and reviews. I figured there was no harm and fish food is fish food. Wrong. I used this for about three days. even after three days of not eating anything the betta refused to eat it and i ended up going out and buying the pellets again. It might be because my betta is a female and all men know they can be fussy eaters when someones watching but your fish just may love the stuff.

Universal Rocks 48-Inch by 24-Inch Rocky Flexible Aquarium Background

Universal Rocks 48-Inch by 24-Inch Rocky Flexible Aquarium BackgroundI was a little skeptical before buying this background. It was hard for me to imagine spending this much money on a background for my turtle tank but I'm glad I did. I have a 75 gallon aquarium and I had to cut it to fit. I just used a large scissors (you could also use a utility knife) and it wasn't terribly hard. It is flexible enough for me to bend it to get it around the brace in the middle of the tank and it is not very thick (maybe one inch) so it doesn't take up too much space. It looks like it does in the picture (except mine seems a little darker) and the way its molded makes it look like a real boulder or rock face. The back side is black rubber or plastic but the front feels like sandpaper. My turtles love this because they can climb the wall but if you have delicate fish you may want to be careful that they aren't forced to rub up against it. I am using the clips that came with and they do work but you can also use silicone if you want it permanently in place. I have had this for 6 months now and it has stood up to me scrubbing it with a scrub brush to get the algae off. The instructions say that you are supposed to power wash it before you put it in the tank but I used a scrub brush in my tub and lots of black grit comes off at first. I haven't seen any since and it didn't affect my fish or water. I will be buying another one of these when I get a larger tank because it looks realistic and seems like it will last forever.

This is by far the best addition I have made to my tanks. I don't understand why this isn't more popular and more stores carrying it. I have asked many people about it, and nobody has heard of it. If your tank is the same size as one of these it will take literally minutes to install it. It will be more difficult if you need to cut it because of the textured surface. I haven't noticed any algae growth, etc. on it. The only concern is smaller fish like neons getting behind it, but that was only a problem once when a small pleco got behind it and had trouble getting out. My aquariums now look VERY professional, almost like something you would see at a real aquarium. Another nice benefit is I don't have to put nearly as many plants in to make it look nice. Highly highly recommended.

Buy Universal Rocks 48-Inch by 24-Inch Rocky Flexible Aquarium Background Now

but cutting it was cumbersome. Once I figured out that a sharp utility knife was best to cut this thing then it wasn't too bad. (Tried a few things) Only thing I didn't like was that it came with PVC pipe cut into 1/2 inch circles as "clips". (LAME) and did not appreciate having to glue it onto my tank. If that was going to be the case then they should've made the back flat for gluing purposes. Too many ridges in back made it difficult to figure out which would touch the aquarium and which wouldn't. All in all, after all the hard work it ended up looking lovely in my 75g aquarium.

One thing though.....if you're going to glue it, make sure you get your dimensions right and you glue ALL edges. Don't want you to end up with fish creeping into any missed nooks.

Snoozer Cozy Cave Pet Bed Small

Snoozer- Cozy Cave - Small/OliveMy little guy (5.5 pounds) has three beds, and this is his favorite by far. He loves to burrow into it, and the internal wire keeps the hood up so he can peek outside. The small size would probably fit two 5 lb dogs, and would be fine for one 10 to 15 pound dog. My house is drafty, and I'm happy that this bed will keep him warm--it's like a sleeping bag with sherpa lining. This product is a little pricey compared to others, but it's worth the cost.

I got this bed for my 10 year old, 20 pound French Bulldog who loves sleeping under blankets. The bed is very nicely made and of good quality materials. It feels like it will be a very durable bed. There's quite a bit of stuffing. The front of the flap has a rigid insert so it stays up by itself. I was worried that the small bed would be too small for my dog, but it is quite roomy, she can crawl into the back with plenty of space up front. (see photo)

Buy Snoozer Cozy Cave Pet Bed Small Now

The only complaint I have about this bed is that it tilts off to the side . If the cushion could somehow be made more stable so that it didn't roll around so easily when the dog is in the bed it would be perfect for your little burrowing pup. The bed cover washes well and it is easy to take on and off.

I have a seven year old dachshund with a really bad spinal problem; he's been in very bad paid for about six months now. Dachshunds are notorious burrowers and I had all kinds of blankets and towels and bedding in his dedicated doggie area. His name is Maxx so I call it his "Maxi-Pad." I saw that it was hurting him to burrow in his normal way, so I began looking around for something better for him. I visited every web site and pet store and found nothing that I thought would work, until I happened upon the Cozy Cave on Amazon. I jumped on the order! When it arrived, it had the typical new-bedding smell so he didn't take to it right away. I aired it out for a few days in the fresh air but for several nights he continued to sleep on top on a blanket on the floor in his Maxi Pad. I figured I needed to coax him in there since I had already thrown his old bedding away. So I put my hands deep in the opening of the Cozy Cave and he climbed in there trying to play with my hands. First step of actually getting him to go in was solved. For a night or two I noticed he still was reluctant to sleep in it. It dawned on my what I had done when I brough him home when he was just a little puppy and was sleeping in his kennel" he missed my smell! So I took one of my old wear-around-the-house tee shirts and stuffed in toward the back of the Cozy Cave. Next morning I couldn't find him and peeked around the top of the Cozy Cave and saw him sound asleep. He's been sleeping in his Cozy Cave every night since. It does my heart good to see him safe, secure and comfortable. I wonder if he knows how much I love him? If you have a dachshund, I'll bet they will love you too once you get them a Cozy Cave.

My 2 dachshunds climbed into their Cozy Caves immediately. I got 2 Cozy Caves in July, 2010 to discourage them from always jumping onto the sofa and beds. I already had to treat the mini one for a pinched nerve in her back, so jumping has to be discouraged. This bed has worked...both prefer them to the sofa & people beds. My standard dachshund (20#) has the medium size, and the mini (11#) has the small. Sometimes both doxies are snuggled together in the medium bed. It's plenty big for both. The construction is superb. Both the outer cover and the inner stuffing cover have a substantial zipper each. I love the opening with the spline, and they like the back cover folding down on them. That keeps them warm. I hesitated ordering because of the price, but it's the best product I've ever seen! I would recommend the Cozy Cave wholeheartedly. I love them...both girls love them. Shipping from CSN Stores was prompt and FREE!

Now it's December and have had the beds for 5 months. So, here's an update. When the beds were new, the small bed was too high for my mini dachshund, with the injured back, to easily climb into it. So I removed some of the filler and put it into the medium bed. Perfect! The filler in both have compacted a little, but shaking the bed plumps them right up. I have washed both bed covers 3 times and each time they look like new. Very easy to do after removing the plastic spline and the inner stuffed liner. I wash the khaki and red together with no running of color. They even dry very fast! It's so nice to easily keep their bedding clean and smelling fresh! I luv, luv, luv these beds! Buy one...you won't regret it!

These fit my Therapure 201M Air Purifier. It installed in a couple minutes with just a Phillips screwdriver. It has worked perfectly for a week now.

I purchased this item because it was FAR cheaper than the brand name for Therapure 201M Replacement UV Bulb. It works as well (if not better) than the brand name itself. I give it Five Stars because I'm beyond impressed with it's capabilities for the price of it.

This lamp was an exact and perfect fit for a 5 Watt UV-C lamp used in a THERAPURE 101M Electronic Air Purifier. And the price was more reasonable here (bought 3 for spares and got free shipping). Everyone gives different part numbers for these UV bulbs so you think you have to buy from the appliance manufacture. You don't. This 5-watt lamp will fit any appliance with a 5-watt UV-C lamp.

Replaced original UV lamp perfectly.

If it blinks and sputters on first startup, don't assume it's defective.

Several minutes are required for the mercury to vaporize before the bulb can do its thing.

Bought two.

Lee's The Ultimate Faucet Adapter, Metal

Lee's The Ultimate Faucet Adapter, MetalThe plastic faucet adapter that comes with Python started to be stripped after the first usage! As a result there would be leaks at the faucet when it was used and I had to wrap a rag around it to absorb the water. I have had this metal adapter now for a month. No leaks.

This works very well-no leaks at all. My kitchen faucet was too shallow to properly screw this in (could only turn the device in two or three times to the faucet spigot, so it would not hold tight), but it works just fine with my bathroom sink faucet, and I can now water the plants on my condo terrace. Ordering one for my neighbors.

I have been using this metal adapter for 2 years, after stripping out several plastic ones. MUCH better, and worth every penny. Fits most faucets and it is great to not have to worry about the plastic ones.

I've sliced my thumb more than once hand tightening this onto the faucet, I recommend using some channel locks or a rag or both. I wish it didn't have the sharp serrated edge, but it's easily solved by some forethought.

The plastic thread wears down really quickly, so I decided to get this one instead and it is much better in terms of how well it fits on, and the life of it as well.

Fair warning, I sliced my finger open trying to get it off of the tap, so be careful as thin threading is quite sharp! If it is tightened too much, best way to get it off is with pliers (won't damage it) or with a damp cloth

Kordon/Oasis (Novalek) AKD39446 Ich Attack for Aquarium, 16-Ounce

Kordon/Oasis AKD39446 Ich Attack for Aquarium, 16-OunceIch Attack works, but it works slowly. If you don't catch the ich early on and it gets a good hold on the fish, you need a stronger, chemical treatment for your fish, not an herbal one. Being herbal, Ich Attack doesn't have many of the disadvantages of the harsher chemical treatments. I am currently using this on a 12 gallon freshwater tank populated with 7 black neon tetras, 5 pygmy corys, and 3 dwarf gouramis. I lost 6 of the tetras, but I consider that more my fault than the failure of the Ich Attack I didn't catch the ich until it was too far along on the tetras. I'm not even sure if a chemical treatment would have saved the tetras as badly as they were infected. It took a week of dosing the tank with Ich Attack before I saw the last of the ich on the remaining fish, but the bottle warns that it may take as long as 5 weeks if the ich is particularly resistant. As recommended on the bottle, I am continuing the treatment for 5 days after all ich is gone. In summary, it works and I like it, but I have learned to inspect my fish carefully each day to catch any infections early.

Am on my 3 rd bottle in a 75g tank....I bought this because of my red cherry shrimp and the oto cats....no harmful effects at all...lose a doz neons and flame tetras right off but after dbbl doseing every thing looks good ..Am putting 3rd bottle in to be on safe side...no harm to heavily planted tank...it just destroyed the ich...good stuff..patience needed

I have a 125 gallon saltwater reef tank and used this product actually took 2 bottles to complete treatment and ICH never went away. I had heard a lot of great reviews on this product so I still believe in it but I can't rate 5 stars as it was not affective in ridding the ICH in my tank. I will say that on a positive side it did not affect my corals at all.

I used this herbal medication to treat marine ich in my reef tank about a month ago. My clownfish stopped "flashing" against rocks. I assumed it worked but brain coral (Trachyphyllia geoffroyi) died and slowly turned to white. I lost $44.99 (the price of the brain coral).

Recently I have a marine ich crisis, maybe after the introduction of tomini tang. I used the herbal medication with higher dose allowed by the instructions (6 teaspoonful, instead of 4, for 40 gallon tank) for about a week. Fairy wrasse was full of white ich, also scissortail goby. Now other tank mates were effected.

I decided to stop this herbal treatment after:

(1) I did not see any improvement with the fish

(2) Plate coral (Cycloseris hexagonalis) stopped responding with its favorite food

(3) Gorgonian coral (Eunicea sp) stopped extending its tentacles.

However, birdnest coral, acropora, maxima clam, Duncan coral (Duncanopsammia axifuga) were okay.

I want to try copper treatment on separate tank, or hypo salinity treatment. I think herbal treatment cannot stop marine ich crisis.

Every tank is different. You can try this product and see the result.

My fish have been fighting ich for over a month now and hasn't improved. I finally set up a q.t. tank and am going to have to leave them from my tank for 60 days. This stuff didn't bother my soft corals at all, not even my flowerpot coral. Maybe if you catch at the very first sight this might work, but it was a waste of my time and money.

Laguna Pond Fountain Pump Kit, 400-GPH

Laguna Pond Fountain Pump Kit, 400-GPHThe pump itself is terrific. Amazon's price and fast shipping was much appreciated. There is a lot of power and good control for the water pressure. The water bell is lovely. But the fountain heads are held on by pressure, not threaded, and the force of the water being pumped eventually blew both the water bell and spray heads off and they are buried somewhere in the bottom of my pond. With the cold weather coming soon, I don't expect to find them before next spring. It's a serious design flaw, but you can probably secure the head if you know about it in advance.

Finnex FugeRay Aquarium LED Light Plus Moonlights, 24-Inch

Finnex FugeRay Aquarium LED Light Plus Moonlights, 24-InchThis light is 24" long and fits perfectly over my 20 gal. fish tank. The light is a pleasing 'daylight' color and my plants have responded positively to it. The LEDs run cool and are 'instant-on'. I have not used the moonlight feature (which is just a few blue-purple LEDs) that can be switched on separately or together with the main lights. Since I have this light on a timer, I don't bother with manually switching the moonlight lights on and off -I just leave them off.

I think anything deeper than a 20 gal. tank might need a stronger light though, like their AL-H24DS: Finnex RAY II High Output Unibody Ultra Slim LED Fixture 24" Daylight. But this one suits my needs without creating a lot of algae growth. I think in the future, all of my tank lighting will be LEDs.

Very bright compared to 2 lamp fluorescents and less wattage! Perfect for low tech planted tanks or just regular tanks. Shows off the colors of the fish.

This is the best aquarium lights I have had. Especially for a saltwater tank. It's raised enough the salt doesn't cover and corrode it. Nice bright light too.

So this one lasted longer than the second one I got. I had this 24" model mounted on the mounts it comes with and sitting on top of the fuge it is advertised with on Amazon. It lasted less than three months. The plants grew really fast under this light. It's a shame it didn't last very long.

I had ordered a 12" light just before the 24" died. I thought this one was just a fluke. No big deal. I contacted their customer service (the maker of the light) and they never responded. I thought maybe it was the holidays but it has been a month. I have to try and call them tomorrow. Tonight the 12" one started sparking and flickering. Luckily the 12" died fast enough that I could return through Amazon instead of dealing with the manufacturer.

So I have two dead lights sitting on my desk (one headed back to Amazon tomorrow) and I have to go to Home Depot tomorrow to find something to keep my plants from dying. The first fuge (the 24") has already been cleared of plants and I'm only running the 12". I would avoid this light.

Reef One Biorb Feng Shui Pebble Pack

biOrb Decorative Feng Shui Pebbles - Midnight BlackThese rocks look great we did half black and half of the red rocks in our white biorb life. We did require 5 packs of them (3 black, 2 red) to really fill our 12 gallon tank. 4 probably would have worked, but 5 covers up the filter as well.

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00512 Ista Co2 Diffuser Set for Aquarium

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00512 Ista Co2 Diffuser Set for AquariumThis Co2 thing does produce co2... But not without allot of tweaking. the diffuser it comes with is crap, I already have a glass diffuser so I just use that.

Maybe I'm not sure how to use the canister, but I wasn't able to get the can to produce CO2 without having to hold the trigger down. it'll last for about a minute before I have to push the trigger again. The instructions are vague to say the least.

I'll be sticking to DIY Co2 or just investing in a reasonably priced pressurized Co2 unit.

Having used co2 for my aquariums for some time, this product looked funny to me. The price was good so I gave it a try! Wow! It did just as good as any other simple co2 system. Some as much as 4 times the cost. Everythings included, and it lasts a long time. Plug and play! Took 2 minutes to set up. Perfect for beginners and pro's with a small tank waiting to bloom. Buying more, maybe even losing some of the more bulky systems with similar diffusion .

DrTim's Aquatics First Defense Stress Relief & Immune Support for Saltwater Aquariums - 8 ounces

DrTim's Aquatics First Defense Stress Relief & Immune Support for Saltwater Aquariums - 8 ouncesI've had bad luck in the past with acclimating new fish to my reef aquarium, so I thought i'd try this product for my next batch of fish. Before I had purchased the product, I bought 10 Chromis, 9 died in 1 week. Second week I bought 8 more Chromis, adding this product to the acclimation process, and they have been surviving for over a month now. So I believe this product works just as described.

Tip * turn off your skimmer for a day, or else it'll be foaming like crazy!
