Zoo Med Laboratories AZMBB9 Nano Banquet Block Mini

Zoo Med Laboratories AZMBB9 Nano Banquet Block MiniIt is very small (perfect for the typical nano shrimp tank. Mine happens to be the fluval 5.5 spec) and does provide the large number of shrimp associated with small shrimp tanks a nice food variety among their shrimp pellets and frozen varieties of food.

I will throw in a block as often as once a week, or every other week (dependent on my weekly to bi-weekly water changes). It is important to only feed these blocks right before a water change is due or right after a water change is completed only because once again, with any plaster fed food, when left in the water column, it can get messy and dirty the tank in a relatively short amount of time. My cherry shrimp, orange bee shrimp, and red fire shrimp do enjoy it however and I will continue to offer it to them as a food variety once in a while.

VIP Products Mighty Sammy McSnapper Ocean Dog Toy, Red and Orange

VIP Products Mighty Sammy McSnapper Ocean Dog Toy, Red and OrangeThis toy was given to our Goldendoodle as a gift and she loved it. I bought one for my granddog, a Golden Retreiver who destroys his toys, because it said that it was practically indestructable. Wrong! Within 5 minutes the first fin was gone. So, if you have a dog that doesn't destroy toys it's great. Not so much for the big time chewers!

Lee's Ultra GravelVac, Self-Start with Nozzle & Hose Clip - 16" Large

Lee's Ultra GravelVac, Self-Start with Nozzle & Hose Clip - 16' LargeVery easy to use, i used it in my 40 gallon tank and it worked perfectly. Just follow directions on the package.

Great product.

This works awesome. I had gotten a new 72 gallon bowfront tank and was using the old 6" gravel vac. So i decided to give this a shot. Has a high flow rate which makes it easy to move quickly around the tank. Would definitely recommend this to someone with a deep tank.

I guess I am just a creature of habit, but I do not like to put things together, NAMELY THINGS THAT HOLD WATER. It was time to replace my old siphon bought in 1991, which was all one piece. Now I have a taller tank, so needed a longer siphon. This fit the bill. Self Start you say? NOPE! I do it the old fashioned way...The reason for minus 1 star.

Midwest Tropical 670 Square Aquarium End Table

Midwest Tropical 670 Square Aquarium End TableThis table is something that you want to think very long and hard about before buying. I bought this table about a year ago and still enjoy it very much. Some of the positives are that no one i know has ever heard of a fish tank table before, therefore adds class to our home well as a conversation starter. Our was son 6 months old when we bought this table still loves to take naps on the floor by it. The sound of the water movement is pacifying well as he loves to watch the fish and the bubblers in motion. Now some of the negatives. The table being all glass and acrylic glass means everything is very visible. To use a filter and/ or a bubbler in this tank the wires and the filter itself are very noticeable. I strongly dislike that they are noticeable. But the underwater filter supplied with the tank is quiet small. I was thinking of buying a few small mirrors the size of the filter and placing them around the filter to some what make the filter less noticeable. This problem still did not discourage me from loving this table. Another issue is the wires to plug in the under the table light, the filter and the bubblers. If you have hardwood floors you can just buy a throw rug to hide the cords. I, on the other hand have carpeting in my living room. And also rent a half double. My landlord was nice enough to let me cut two little holes in the carpet. One under the tank and one under my couch. There is an outlet behind my couch. I strung the cords under the carpeting. This is very unnoticeable and worked great. The only problem this method posed was that in order to add a new device or get rid of another one i would have to unstring and restring them through the carpet. I do not like the filter that the tank came with because it is very hard to find replacement cartridges for it. I cant get them at a regular pet store, i have to special order them. Another issue is the lighting. The tank comes with a small light that shines one direction. Two are needed for equal lighting. I cannot find this light anywhere online to purchase a second. If i place the light under the middle of the tank, half of the tank is dark while half is perfectly lit. If i place it under the far edge (where i found was best to have it), the tank is all lit but dimmer on the far side. No heater can be used in this tank because it will cause condensation on the lid, the table top itself. that does not look pretty. I have hardy fish like goldfish, guppies, mollies, ect that are doing fine without the heater. Another issue is i am a big fan of bubblers and bubble stones. I love to have many bubblers in my tank. The bubbles pop at the top of the water creating droplets of water on the lid of the tank. After having this water on the inside lid of the tank my lid is now stained. I clean it and clean it and the water mark from where my bubblers are will not go away. To prevent the water droplets on the lid i would not fill the tank as high as it could go. But to me that was less room for my happy fish. In my opinion this tank would be a lovely idea for just water and plants. not a prosperous fish environment. Another issue i cant forget is how easily dirtied the lid gets. Yes i have a baby. And he loves to stick his sticky fingers all over the glass. So if you are an older couple, and the kids are grown up this is a great tank for you. Even will all the negative i have listed, i still enjoy my fish tank table. So think hard about whether or not you want it before spending the huge amount of money. This tank doesnt take a lot to maintain, the only thing is cleaning the glass everyday where my son messes.

Hagen Nutrafin Max Baby Fish Formula, 1.59-Ounce

Hagen Nutrafin Max Baby Fish Formula, 1.59-OunceI raise my daffodils and other cichlids on liquid feed for the first month then this small pellet food until big enough for regular Cichlids pellets.

The fish seem to like it and have good color.

Once raised to about 3/16" in height, I switch my Angelfish fry to this food. The tiny pellets, once poured into the aquarium and stirred into the water, the pellets float through out the aquarium and the Angelfish greedily chase it down. I'm on my third fry batch and the fish are growing steadily.

FYI, I raise the fry to 3/16" on: Instant Baby Brine Shrimp 20 g

Como 10 Pcs Blue Plastic Check Valves for Fish Tank Aquarium Air Pump

Como 10 Pcs Blue Plastic Check Valves for Fish Tank Aquarium Air PumpThese check valves do what they are supposed to do, prevent back siphoning. They also seem to remain clear over time, unlike the more common and more expensive type which seem to "clog up" and restrict the air flow somewhat as they age. Some of them have untrimmed thin bits of plastic at the nibs, but it doesn't affect their function so it's of no importance to me.

My order arrived on time and included a coupon for more items that expired one week ago :-)

These blue vlaves are just over an inch long and one side clearly has the work "OUT" on it.

This is my first time using a product like this. I tried to look thru it and it appeared like a dark gray rubbery shield is inside the unit. I blew into the air IN side and air passes, and you can hear a flexible manifold flap open. I definitely feel this adds some resistance to the air flow though. I tried my hardest to blow into the OUT side and nothing at all came out, so I expect this will work.

I also purchased Como Aquarium Y Shaped Clear Plastic Airline Air Tubing Connectors 10 Pcs from the same seller, to cut down and share the flow from my powerful air pump. Hydrofarm AAPA15L 6-Watt 15-LPM Active Aqua Air Pump with 4 Outlets because some reviewers said you can split the air.

With the use of these Valves, I my not be able to use the Y connectors, if there is any reduction to the force of the air. Hopefully this will not harm my pump. I am new to all of this and will report if I actually have any problems, but everything looks good and since there were no reviews yet, I wanted to report what I see for other newbies who were wondering.

I am not aware if there are other manufacturers or these or how the quality compares.

TaoTronics TT-AL09 Dimmable Aquarium Coral Reef LED Grow Light (120W Output, Blue/White Ratio- 28:2

TaoTronics TT-AL09 Dimmable Aquarium Coral Reef LED Grow LightThe light is well built and sturdy. Hanging kit worked perfectly. Complete dimming control from 100% to completely off. My only complaint is the case which appears to be powdercoated metal, it looks nice but I worry about longevity in a salt water environment.

I bought 2 of these LED lights to replace 504 watts of 48" VHO Florescent lighting for 75 gallon tank (48"x18"x 20")with very good results so far. The 48" VHO's were mounted under canopy lid and I completely removed them and cut 2 evenly spaced rectangular holes (15.75" x 8.50") in the canopy lid. Inside the lid I mounted 2 pieces of .25" acrylic to cover under the holes for the lights to set on. I set the LED lights on top outside the canopy so they would shine through the acrylic and does not get moisture like the VHO's did. Mounting the fixtures in the dry on the outside on top of canopy will greatly increase the lifespan of the fixtures. I used separate timers for the white & blue dimmable lights for a sunrise effect. After acclimating the corals to the new LED lighting with the dimmers, I found that in my aquarium I could not run the LED's @100% it was too bright for my corals (slight bleaching effect) so I dimmed to 50% with great results. With the White @50% & Blue @50% , both fixtures together consuming 110 watts @50% compared to 504 watts VHO previously. The heat factor was also greatly reduced! My corals (all Softies) are all doing great after 3 months of these lights running @50% capacity. The 3 fans on each fixture are very quiet and keep the fixture cool. These LED's are very bright and evenly distribute light throughout the whole aquarium mounted 7" above water surface. The Shimmer effect is fantastic! After a lot of research of LED fixtures, I would certainly recommend these affordable LED lights to any Aquarium enthusiast looking for alternative lighting.

Buy TaoTronics TT-AL09 Dimmable Aquarium Coral Reef LED Grow Light (120W Output, Blue/White Ratio- 28:2 Now

I recently ordered these lights and they were shipped FedEx from China. I'm impressed with so much on this transaction and the first being the fast and secure shipping as well as the price and quality of these 2 units.

My set up is a 225 system this is a deeper tank than the normal yet the lights shine to the deepest part of the tank I have a 1/3 CHILLER and a 40 gallon sump that houses 2 filter socks, a protein skimmer and a UV sterilizer. My tank has never looked better and the fans 3 per unit are super quiet and do a great job of venting the warmer air out of the hood area.

I actually received then in early November but had them installed only last week. They replaced 2 400 watt MH bulbs as well as a bulky and hot ballast. The install used 4 brackets for each until hung from the inside of my canopy running on timers the whites on from 12:30 PM until 6 the blues from 10 AM until 6 supplementing the 2 LED units are 4 T5 25 Watt Actinic on from 9 AM to 10 PM.

I made the decision to replace the MH with LED for a number of reasons and the main reason being electricity costs and bulb replacement cost every 12 months. I needed to buy new MH bulbs but before I decided to spend the $200 I made the wise decision to go with LED. I did my research and ended up with the TAO TRONICS units for cost, quality, features and ease of ordering.

They ARE FANTASTIC the water shimmers my corals never looked better and I can't wait to see the enery saving next month as I estimate a savings of $30 $40 per month on my electric bill. I already notice my chiller going on less and the stable temperature is at least 1.5 degrees lower with the new LED lights.

I highly recommend the TAO TRONICS units you can't go wrong and the price will gradually drop and more features will be added but I'm glad to have jumped on the LED bandwagon!!!

I purchsed this product due to the Price. I did have an issue when I received the 2 sets of lights. On one of my lights the White LEDS did not work at all. After receiving instructions from the customer service center on on what to do to try and fix the issue and after taking the cover off I figured out that the one of wires was not making contact. I resoddered the wire and that fixed the lights, since then i have had no issues. I am very pleased with the lights. they really do make my corals in my aquarium stand out and the fans are super quiet.

Vibran-Sea Amazon Flowering Cluster Aquarium Plant Assortment

Vibran-Sea Amazon Flowering Cluster Aquarium Plant AssortmentI purchased these recently for my Betta tanks and I'm very happy with them. The colors are nice and vibrant and the material is soft. One warning though: if using it with Bettas or fish with delicate fins, make sure to take off those hard plastic "branches". They will snag your fish's fins. This has happened to me in the past with similar plants, so I always take that part off so that the fabric part is just remaining.

NEW - FLAT SCREEN UNDERWATER FANTASY MOTION LIGHT AQUARIUM

NEW - FLAT SCREEN UNDERWATER FANTASY MOTION LIGHT AQUARIUMI was so excited when it came, well my daughter was mostly. We hung it on the wall the second day we got it and it looked good. But after the 4th day it stopped working and it hasn't come back on sense. Don't waste your money on it

was not happy on what it cost. Thought it would be better quality. Makes a terrable noise and if I exchange it they raised the price on it if I want to buy it again. No Way!!! Not worth the money.

Buy NEW - FLAT SCREEN UNDERWATER FANTASY MOTION LIGHT AQUARIUM Now

This item was bought for my grandson for a Christmas present. When he opened it, the screen was broken from top to bottom. I notified Amazon and they notified DBROTH. I received an email from DBROTH informing me that they would get to me in the order they received notification. After 3 days I emailed them again. They sent me the same email. It has now been 7 days and I have heard nothing. Looks like I am stuck with a broken item and a disappointed grandson. I am surprised that Amazon does business with a company that doesn't stand behind their products.

I received this item yesterday and I am so disappointed. It is very nice to look at and I was excited to plug it in to see it in motion. However, once plugged in, the noise coming from the unit (buzzing/metal sound and cracking noise) made it impossible to relax and watch the fish. Certainly not enjoyable at all.

Want NEW - FLAT SCREEN UNDERWATER FANTASY MOTION LIGHT AQUARIUM Discount?

I ordered this item for an elderly often out-of-it aunt in assisted care in lieu of a real aquarium. She is having trouble using it and claims nothing moves when she plugs it in. I am far from her, and the distributor says they just forward the sealed package and don't know how it works. My aunt says there were no instructions, which may or may not be true. Could someone please post how it works so that I can talk her through it on the phone? Is there a switch to make the fish move? DO they move or does the background move? Is leaving it plugged in a problem due to heat build up? Thanks for your help. She was supposed to enjoy this gift, not fear it or get frustrated by it.

Como 9.1" x 9.1" Green Square Artificial Grass Lawn for Fish Tank

Used to protect the little fry and it works well. I would recommend this over the regular breeding grass as you can run it up the wall of your tank.

Product is in my fry tank and works great to help the fry hide or stay out of the light if they want. I use sand as substrate and I do not embed the product in the sand. I just place enough small stones on it to keep it from floating, that way the fry can get in and out of it easier.

Finnex Temperature Controller Digital Heater

Finnex Temperature Controller Digital HeaterAfter years of submersible heaters with internal thermostats fail on me (multiple brands), I decided to spend the extra money to go with a heater controller and a titanium heater. Bottom line, it is worth the money to have a separate controller. I have tried the Jalli and the Finnex Digital contorllers and would recommend both. The advantage of the Finnex HC-810M is that it not only maintains the temperature to your set point but also displays the actual temperature and allows you to set high and low temperature alarm points. My first thought on the alarm points was that it made sense for the low point in case your heater failed but thought that a high alarm really didn't make much sense because the controller shouldn't allow the heater to heat up to that point unless the controller wasn't working. I later found out that the high alarm was helpful because I had a pump that started to heat the water up to the high limit. The heater wasn't on because the controller was working perfectly and the controller told me that there was a problem. Another thing to note, if you have had the same problems I've had with the regular submersible heaters, you don't have to throw away the heaters that are stuck on. You can use the heater controller with any heater as long as it doesn't exceed the rated wattage. If it has a thermostat of its own and you prefer to use the controller, just set the heater to the max temp. The only thing I would like for an improvement would be to have memory for the setpoints since you have to reset everything if you ever have a power outage or unplug it.

UPDATE: Apparently they did add memory for setpoints now.

Summary:

More reliable that a regular submersible heater w/internal thermostat

Has a built in digital themometer

High and low temperature alarms

Works with any heater that doesn't exceed the rated wattage

This product works very well. The set up instructions seemed very unclear to me. I finally managed to set the temperature I wanted but could not get the hi and lo settings figured out. The one glaring problem with this controller is the temp probe is about 3 ft too short. Why they skimped on this I don't know. I have another heater with remote controller and the sensor probe wire is 3 to 4 ft long. Then you can remote mount the controller away from the tank. The Finnex controller is so short you have to put the probe near the top of your tank and then the controller barely makes it to the bottom tank line. This is on a small 50 gal tank too. Ridiculous in my opinion.

Buy Finnex Temperature Controller Digital Heater Now

It keeps my tank temp very stable and I don't worry about over heating! Would definitely recommend and/or buy again.

Aquarium Pharmaceuticals PondCare Pond-Zyme with Barley

Aquarium Pharmaceuticals PondCare Pond-Zyme with BarleyI have built several ponds. This powder is the best for starting each season and ending the season. Its NOT an algeacide as someone posted, its purely for sludge reduction and pond health which it excels. This and some low use of some algeacide is all you need to keep any pond under 1000 gallons working perfect each season with minimal work

I believe "nightowl" is trying to use this product as a cleaner to remove or stop the growth of algae from a fountain and misleading other customers about its effectiveness. If used to keep pond sludge under control and keep your pond water clear and balanced this product works great. If you are looking for an algaecide for your "fountain" try to use a product called algaecide ......LOL

Did not work at all for me, so much algae grew I had to drain the fountain and use a pressure washer to blast all the algae off. Sludge was terrible. It looked like I had used nothing. Cleaned the fountain and tried again with the same results. Now I know why they were selling it on the clearance table at the nursery.

Pro Balance® 14-Day Vacation Feeding Blocks for Fish, 2-pack

Pro BalanceĀ® 14-Day Vacation Feeding Blocks for Fish, 2-packGood Vacation Feeders for extended time away from home. Dousn't appear to cloud the water either. Couldn't find any trace of the food upon my return after 8-10 days away.

I've just tried this product on a 3-gal. tank with 3 goldfish, leaving them for 10 days with one tablet.

The good news: the fish are alive (I guess, that's what matters most). The not so good one: pretty much all surfaces of the aquarium, including the plants and the innards of the pump have been covered with rather sticky white goo which wouldn't wash off on its own without actively brushing it off. A bit of a nuisance, requiring a thorough clean-up. Next time, I am going to try an automatic feeder like EHEIM Everyday Fish Feeder Programmable Automatic Food Dispenser but it's still good to have a couple of these tablets in case of an emergency.

Buy Pro Balance® 14-Day Vacation Feeding Blocks for Fish, 2-pack Now

These feeding blocks ruined my classroom aquarium's environment. We had a total of 10 days of spring break vacation. When I got back, the floor of the aquarium and all the plants were covered with a white debris, the water was clouded, and one fish who was visibly struggling to breath died a few days later. It took a huge amount of effort to restore the aquarium's healthy environment. I will never again use a feeding block for an extended period of time. My students and I were deeply saddened by the state of the aquarium upon our return. In the future, I will shell out the big bucks for an electric fish feeder.

This is a very very good item. I went out of country for over 30 days. I was almost convinced that fish will be dead by the time i am back. But I tried to give it a try. Searched for a vacation food and found this. Bought it, and just put one in my 10G tank because I was afraid adding two would over-pollute the water. And went off to India. When I came back after a month, the water was crystal clear, the fish looked perfectly healthy and none of them were dead. What a bliss. I am now always going to depend on it if I have to go on a long vacation.

We have a 20 gallon fish tank with 6 fish a varying sizes in it. We were going on vacation for 8 days and were looking for an option that would feed the fish and not gunk up the tank. After reading other reviews I decided to try Pro Balance's 14-Day feeding blocks and they were an excellent option. I placed both blocks in the tank two a day before we left just to see what would happen and how the fish would handle it. We returned for an 8 day vacation and I was pleasantly surprised to find all six fish alive and healthy and the tank was as clean as it had ever been after 8 days. I expected to find funky, cloudy water at a minimum and possibly dead fish. Neither happened and everything looked to be in great shape. I'll definitely use the Pro Balance feeding blocks for future trips.

Lee's The Ultimate Faucet Adapter, Metal

Lee's The Ultimate Faucet Adapter, MetalThe plastic faucet adapter that comes with Python started to be stripped after the first usage! As a result there would be leaks at the faucet when it was used and I had to wrap a rag around it to absorb the water. I have had this metal adapter now for a month. No leaks.

This works very well-no leaks at all. My kitchen faucet was too shallow to properly screw this in (could only turn the device in two or three times to the faucet spigot, so it would not hold tight), but it works just fine with my bathroom sink faucet, and I can now water the plants on my condo terrace. Ordering one for my neighbors.

The plastic thread wears down really quickly, so I decided to get this one instead and it is much better in terms of how well it fits on, and the life of it as well.

Fair warning, I sliced my finger open trying to get it off of the tap, so be careful as thin threading is quite sharp! If it is tightened too much, best way to get it off is with pliers (won't damage it) or with a damp cloth

I always worry it won't be big enough, but this worked perfect for my 55 gallon tank. I had to trim a little off, which I would much rather than the other option! I did the black side since I did a 3D rock build and wanted the rocks to stand out, versus the background taking away attention. Smoothed on well and didn't leave any bubbles.

In it, I have space for a Reef Octopus Needle Wheel Skimmer 6 in. up to 150 gallons in the protein skimmer area, and a Mag Drive Supreme 950 GPH Pump in the return area.

The water level lines that come on the sump will not be accurate if you have to raise up your protein skimmer (like I did), but besides that, it's a very simple design to work with. I do wish the filter socks were easier to remove (in my case, they are very difficult to remove at times because I have to slip a piece of PVC pipe into the drain bulkhead AFTER/WHILE I reinstall the filter sock (after washing it). The reason I have the extended PVC pipe going from the bulkhead into the water is so that the sump doesn't make so much water splashing noise when it is running. I'm sure with a little modification, this could become easier, so it isn't a deal-breaker when evaluating the sump. To keep things "in the family", I purchased the Eshopps PF-1200 Overflow Box Up to 300 gal. to go with this sump and EVERYTHING connects together very nicely.

In terms of durability, it is constructed very nicely and packaged very safely from the factory. The seams are all very nicely glued together and I have never had a leak in the past 6 months since I set it up.

All-in-all, it's a very nice sump, with exception to the filter sock frame design and the water splashing that comes from the factory drain setup. If you don't mind cutting a few pieces of PVC to quiet down your drains, this is the sump for you.
