Marina Aquascaper Hairgrass Plant Decoration

Hagen Aquascaper Hairgrass, 8-InchDon't let the Nemo branding fool you. This is a realistic plant. My background has some hairgrass val in the image so I wanted to extend that with artificial plants. I think it is working well.

Looks Like real and absolutely compliments the aquarium colors. I love how such a small addition can make such a huge difference! Recommended

I have an older 4 gallon cube aquarium, and the plants I've had for years need replacing. I prefer plants that you find in a natrual setting, modeled after real live plants. This is just what I was looking for! I did order a couple of other plants as well. Thank you!!!

It is a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but its still a very nice fake plant, spread out nicely and life like. Will be a wonderful addiction to my cichlid tank.

Fish Food - Tropical (Flake), 3 Lb. Bag

Fish Food - Tropical, 3 Lb. BagThis 3lb batch lasted almost 2 years. It is a very good price at $10/lb and the fish seem to thrive on it. It is brittle and needs to be crushed if you have small fish or fry but that has not been a problem.

Product was sent and looks like circled pellets not flaked food as shown in picture. I will not purchase again from this seller as there products are advertised false products. The shipping was very fast and they did keep tracking and all info up to date. I cannot ding them for service but products need to be sold as what they are

Lee's Ultra GravelVac, Self-Start with Nozzle & Hose Clip - 16" Large

Lee's Ultra GravelVac, Self-Start with Nozzle & Hose Clip - 16' LargeVery easy to use, i used it in my 40 gallon tank and it worked perfectly. Just follow directions on the package.

Great product.

This works awesome. I had gotten a new 72 gallon bowfront tank and was using the old 6" gravel vac. So i decided to give this a shot. Has a high flow rate which makes it easy to move quickly around the tank. Would definitely recommend this to someone with a deep tank.

I guess I am just a creature of habit, but I do not like to put things together, NAMELY THINGS THAT HOLD WATER. It was time to replace my old siphon bought in 1991, which was all one piece. Now I have a taller tank, so needed a longer siphon. This fit the bill. Self Start you say? NOPE! I do it the old fashioned way...The reason for minus 1 star.

TrueLumen Aquatic LED Strips, Quantity 1

TrueLumen Aquatic LED Strips, Quantity 1In case you were wondering because the details are not specified here. I ordered this item and received the 4x roseate LED strip which is what I was looking for

After doing some research on LEDs for my nano reef I decided to go with the True Lumen LEDs. At the time of this review, they are the least expensive LED full lighting solution. These are not just accent lights, but are strong enough to light your whole tank. (assuming you buy enough strips, of course.) I saw them at this price and decided to take a gamble and order. The ones I got were all pink (aka rose). No blue or white LEDs on these strips. So you can't actually light your tank in a healthy way with only pink, but if you are looking for the a pink True Lumen strip, this is a good option. Came new in package, genuine product. At 3 watts per LED (12 watts per srip) these guys are bright. I am happy with this price and the product. Does not include power transformer or the 3-way-splitter to connect more than one strip, you must purchase those separately. (That is standard for modular LED light systems at this time, so keep that in mind when pricing competitors.)

Buy TrueLumen Aquatic LED Strips, Quantity 1 Now

It would have been really nice if somewhere along the lines in big bold letters (Or at all) They post that the power supply is NOT INCLUDED. Just got this in the mail today only to find I don't have the unit to power it. Now I'm going to have to buy the power supply and wait longer. I might just find a lamp at this rate.

Read Best Reviews of TrueLumen Aquatic LED Strips, Quantity 1 Here

I order the LED light from Amazon, I open it up and there is No power cord!! What??

No where on Amazon's page does it say "adapter sold separately, or does not come with power cord" That would have been NICE

I then get on Amazon and search for trueLumen power supply adapter guess what out of Stock!!

Really I got a light and no way to plug it in!! I then went on the internet to try and find the adpater, seem they must be in big demand because they want more for the adapter then what I paid for the light which is just ridiculous.

Amazon make sure you have enough adapters in stock to go with the LED lights. Better yet why can't trueluman just sell the light with the cord Together!!

Since I can't plug the LED into the wall I sent it back to Amazon & bought a differnt LED light at my local fish shop & guess what it came with a power cord WOW it can sold together!! Hint hint amazon

Marina Goldfish Kit - UL Purple - X-Large

Marina Goldfish Kit - UL Purple - X-LargeThe tank itself is fine, I didn't really care for the strange shape, but it's a sturdy acrylic tank. The "filter" however, is crap. You will need to buy a real filter that takes filter bags, otherwise you will be cleaning the whole tank out every week.

It was perfect size for my betta, a sucker and two small corry cats. But the weekly fuss over cleaning the damn thing out was terrible. If you buy a GOOD pump with a proper filter, it is a goon starter tank for 4 small fish.

Let me start with a positive comment. This is the perfect tank FOR A BETTA. Or maybe a couple of very, very small fish that will stay that way.

If you plan on buying this for your goldfish, FORGET IT. Save yourself a lot of anxiety and money and BUY A BIGGER TANK. I know this looks like the perfect size for that little 1" goldie you won at the fair, but it is a far cry from what you will need.

*** For your goldfish: You need a tank that holds at least 20 gallons (yes, that says TWENTY) -NOT THIS PIECE OF CRAP. ***

My reasons?

The goldfish might be small when you buy it at the pet store but will grow up to 6" and this is a MINIMUM. Some varieties may grow beyond a foot! This tank will not allow for healthy growth and development BECAUSE IT IS WAY TOO SMALL.

Goldfish are dirty. And by dirty, I mean they poop constantly. This means YOU have to clean up after them. And the smaller the tank, the more often you will need to clean it.

"Filtration" is total crap. Almost nonexistent. I think it just pumps a lot of bubbles into the water. Your goldfish will not be getting enough oxygen. Also raises the water temperature.

Hood traps in too much heat. Because of its small volume, this tank will have drastic changes in temperature which is not good for your goldfish.

Here is my story:

Boyfriend surprised me with a beautiful black moor and a HAGEN Marina Goldfish starter kit -exactly like this one. He purchased both from Superpetz. Neither of us had any knowledge of goldfish but the person who sold him the fish should have. The seller did not tell him that the tank is WRONG WRONG WRONG for a goldfish, which he/she should have known. I did not know this until a couple of days later (after the store had already gone out of business... no surprise there) when I started reading up on my new pet. I noticed that the water was getting murky within a couple of days so I did a 50% water change. Not even two days later, I came home and my fish was frantically swimming in a circle, up toward the surface and down toward the bottom, running itself into the side of the tank, over and over again. It looked like he was trying to push himself out of the tank. Odd, I thought. So I read up on some reasons. "TOO SMALL!" The restrictive size leads to a lot of health issues because of dirtiness. Swim bladder, fin rot, even ICH. I ruled it down to toxic shock. The fish was creating too much ammonia in too small of a space. Unfortunately for me, I cannot afford to buy/have the capacity for a larger tank at the moment. But I am not about to flush my fishie down the toilet, either. So I continue to do a 50% water change AT LEAST every other day (which stresses the fish) and an entire tank cleaning weekly (which stresses the fish AND myself). I hope that my fish makes it through the next week until I am able to get him into a suitable living environment, but the odds do not look good.

I am very upset at the Superpetz employee who was more concerned with making a final sale than offering a better aquarium. But I am downright angry that the HAGEN company would even manufacture this product and falsely advertise it as "a goldfish starter kit." I guess "starter" means "good for about a day and then buy yourself a better tank." Again, it is a good tank for a BETTA, but should be advertised as such. The box shows the tank holding a goldfish but it cannot possibly survive in there for long. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

~*~*~ If you plan on purchasing this tank for any kind of goldfish, avoid. Buy a 20 gallon aquarium. It will run you a little more, but it's the type you should have from the beginning anyway. Do not make the mistake that we made (not being educated about the goldfish, etc). I do not mean to slander the HAGEN company but this concerns the health and well-being of a living thing, and this particular product is not conducive to healthy living. Just getting the word out. Be aware. ~*~*~

Eheim Professionel 3 Filter

Eheim Professionel 3 FilterI bought the Pro 3 2075 brand new in Sept 2012 that came with a 3 year warranty. The filter leaked after 2 years destroying my $350 wooden stand. Water leaked out near the power cord. After searching the net I found out that this was a common issue among Pro 3 filters made before Aug 2010. There have also been countless reports of Eheim's Customer Support department ignoring customer emails when contacted for warranty claims.

I emailed them and immediately the next day I received a reply asking for the Serial number, the shipping address and the retail store from which I bought the filter. I replied with the information and that was the last I heard from them. I have sent them 4 more emails since then and they completely ignored them. I have been another victim of their scam.

Apparently Eheim is engaging in fraudulent acitivities, marketing their filters as "Premium" products that come with a 3 year warranty. However, they will try their best NOT to honor the warranty. Maybe I need to call them everyday and write nasty letters to get them to acknowledge my issue. I know some of their victims have received a replacement head unit this way after sending threatening emails and making repeated phone calls. However, it shouldn't have to be this difficult.

I have another Pro 2 filter that also leaked after 6 years of operation. From what I have heard, the company was bought and the quality of customer service has become horrible since then. It is now reaching the point of fraud.

I will never buy another Eheim product again. Beware!!!

Update: I called their 800 number and was told that they shipped the head unit to my old address and it went back to their warehouse. They sent another one to my new address. It was still annoying that they put my email on ignore for some stupid reason.

I purchased the EHEIM Professional 3 1200 XL Model #: 2080 canister filter off eBay for my 300 gallon stock tank. Everything seems to be working ok, however I was missing some parts. I could tell this unit was a brand new unit and not a refurb / opened returned item. Everything was in it's original packaging, nice and snug and has that new plastic smell to it.

Anyways, for some reason it's missing the clips to hold the tubes. It only came with 1 clip, and clearly (by the instructions) I should have received more than that; like 6 in total. I contacted EHEIM North America and they responded to my initial e-mail advising me to e-mail them my proof of purchase. Fine, no problem. But then the next day I get one of those mailer daemon bounced e-mail error messages, indicating the e-mail didn't go through.

So I tried their online "contact us" form. They replied but did not address the missing parts. All they said was for me to send it to them via e-mail, when I clearly stated to them that their e-mail wasn't working and that the e-mails were bouncing back. Since then, I've tried to send them my proof of purchase several times and now they're simply ignoring my e-mails. I have proof of purchase, it's well within the warranty period (just a month old) and they're sweeping this issue under the rug.

I'm filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am advising you to think twice before purchasing this filter. Don't get me wrong, it's a good filter which is why I'm giving it 3 stars....but if the manufacturers refuse to take care of their customers (which in my case they have), that diminishes the rating. If you're going to buy it, I strongly suggest you buy it from a shop locally (and not online like I did) so that if push comes to shove, you can return it with ease. Now I'm stuck with a canister filter, and have to buy parts (at an additional cost to me) to compensate for the missing parts.

Buy Eheim Professionel 3 Filter Now

I love this filter. It provides a massive area (as canister filters go) for growing nitrifying bacteria. However, it is insanely expensive and comes without media, which can add another $120 to the overall cost. Due to its size and weight, servicing can be difficult. I'd recommend using it solely as a biofilter, and adding a couple of Magnum 350's for your chemical and mechanical filtration needs. But it is unbelievably quiet and I like the spraybar that's included. My only complaint is the ridiculous instruction manual. Even with 20+ years of using canister filters, it took me two days to get the filter running properly, and that was after contacting Eheim customer support. If the intake tubes (yes, there are 2 of them) are not installed properly, and the manual doesn't mention this, the filter will suck air and eventually stop pumping. I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but you have to experience this to know what I'm talking about. Perhaps if the manual wasn't written in 17 different languages, the publisher would have had more room the include the essential details needed to get this thing running in two hours, and not two days.

Read Best Reviews of Eheim Professionel 3 Filter Here

So far so good. I've had this filter for a month now and it works great! I just changed the filter pads out yesterday, and the media is still going strong. I use the Eheim 2080 for a 100gal turtle tank, one turtle. The filter is well made. Clearly the designers thought about how the filter will actually be used. The filter pads are located at the top of the canister and the filter comes with a tray to make it easy to take the blue pad out and wash it in the sink. I suspect that a full filter cleaning will be a bit more cumbersome since the canister is large and heavy when filled. But the little wheels at the bottom are surprisingly helpful. And it appears the parts that will need to be washed are easy to remove, unlike my previous filter. If you have a turtle(s), I would highly recommend buying this filter. The up front costs are high, but well worth it given the time you save not having to do a full filter cleaning every 3 weeks. I only wish my local pet store carried the filter pads.

Want Eheim Professionel 3 Filter Discount?

I've been running this on my 90 gallon aquarium for close to 2 months now. I have no ammonia problems and crystal clear water. This filter will handle an enormous bio load. I don't have an overstocked tank. In fact, I only have 3 angelfish, 2 albino bristlenose plecos, and plenty of plants in my 90g tank. The community will grow. But, judging by the amount of bio media this thing can hold, I don't intend on seeing any ammonia spikes when I add stock. I ran a fishless cycle on my tank, so the filter should be overloaded with beneficial bacteria.

Aqueon 06055 Goldfish Color Enhancing Granules, 3-Ounce

Aqueon 06055 Goldfish Color Enhancing Granules, 3-OunceHaving kept and raised Fancy Gold fish over the past 35 years it feels like there are few foods In haven't tried. For years I've used Hikari Color Enhancing pellets and felt the formula was worth the expense however the formula has changed and not for the better. It's touted as their most advanced formula, but I was concerned that the formula included MSG (monosodium glutamate) A soy based product known to cause migraines and a myriad of other problems.

MSG is a flavor enhancer, what it does is fool the brain into perceiving that certain foods taste better than they actually would without the addition of MSG. Abundant research concludes it makes otherwise unpalatable food highly palatable.

There are plenty of examples of Asian restaurants, foods and countless products that boldly exclaim No MSG!

I had written to Hikari twice, asking why MSG was included in this particular formula, I've never received a response.

Anyway, as most of you know when reading any pet food list of ingredients, the first three are the most critical. So I recently did a comparison between the Hikari and the Aqueon slow sinking color enhancing granules.

Here's the ingredient list for Hikari:

Fish Meal, Wheat Germ Meal, Wheat Flour, Brewer's Dried Yeast, Starch, Dried Bakery Product, Soy Bean Meal, Gluten Meal, Fish Oil, Spirulina, Vegetable Oil, Astaxanthin, Dried Seaweed Meal, Dried A. niger Fermentation Extract, Monosodium Glutamate, Dl-methionine, Garlic, Dried B. subtilis Fermentation Product, Rice Bran, Choline Chloride, Vitamin E Supplement, L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (Stabilized Vitamin C), Inositol, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Vitamin A Oil, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Niacin, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (Source of Vitamin K), Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Disodium Phosphate, Ferrous Sulfate, Magnesium Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, and Calcium Iodate.

Here's the ingredient list for Aqueon :

Whole Fish Meal (whole salmon, herring and other mixed fishes), Soybean Meal, Whole Wheat Flour, Corn Gluten Meal, Dried Yeast, Fish Oil, Kelp Meal, Garlic, Spirulina, Dicalcium Phosphate, Natural Astaxanthin, Choline Chloride, Calcium Propionate (a preservative), L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C), Vitamin A Acetate, Cholecalciferol (source of Vitamin D3), Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Niacin, Menadione Sodium Bisulphite Complex (source of Vitamin K activity), Folic Acid, Thiamine, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (B6), Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, DL-Alphatocopherol (E), Manganese Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, and Copper Sulfate

Key Points

* Hiraki doesn't identify which fish the meal is made from.

This means they change sources frequently and may be using diseased, rancid fish. Be very wary regardless of any pet food that uses vague terms like "animal digest" "ocean fish" or "Meat" if it's not specific it's a problem

*Aqeon identifies the fish they use a major sign of quality in any pet food.

* There's very little "filler" in Aqeon in comparison to the Hikari formula. Another sign of good nutrition and quality.

Cost

* The Hikari retails for $17.00 for 7 ounces

* The Aqeon retails for $2.99 for 3 ounces a dramatically better formula and by far much less expensive

As a side note, no commercial food for Goldfish can replace a varied diet including fresh veggies, quality gel foods, bits of defrosted raw shrimp and so on. Aqueon is an excellent food as a staple but like any commercial food needs to be supplemented.

So glad to find Aqueon Color Enhancing Granules online. These are smalll granules, not pellets. The fish seems to like these best. No tank mess. Great color enhancing!

New Life Spectrum Thera A 300g

New Life Spectrum Thera A 300gIt would have been nice for the seller to have CLEARLY NOTED that this is the 1mm pellet size, and not the .5mm size as displayed in the stock product photo.

Ended up having to return this since they sent the wrong size.

is a very good product, meets all my expectations and exceeds them inclsuo, really highly recommended, my fish will love and most importantly does not alter my parameters

Buy New Life Spectrum Thera A 300g Now

This is currently the best dry fish food for general marine reef aquarium use. The .5mm Small Fish Thera+A pellets apply here as well big fish may have a problem with these two smallest size pellets, but tangs do quite well with both smallest sizes. Anemones and many corals love it as well. Some fish really go for this food rabidly right from the get-go while some have to get used to pellets, but they do.

I have used Thera+A for about 5 years now, and as my staple food for the last two years since Vibragrow small marine pellets went out of production. Thera+A does wonders for color almost as well as Vibragrow, naturally and helpfully for best fish health as well not just for good healthy color. Thera+A is better in some ways than Vibragrow was, but not quite as good in other ways. Thera+A is still currently king of dry fish foods rest assured.

Some dry fish foods really should not be used as a staple food and will not maintain top health like this one does. Thera+A has not only the wide variety but also the proper variety for maximizing fish health. Thera+A also has garlic which does seem to make some difference as well, in my opinion and in the opinions of many other marine reef hobbyists as well. I used to make my own frozen food mix with very similar variety, and sell it locally too, which also had Selcon ingredients in it as well. It was tops for taste (according to many, many fish) and for variety and health too, but was not so convenient to make or even to feed, and not quite as good on the color enhancement for the fish. The pellet form of Thera+A also locks in the vitamins (and other nutrients), until the fish can eat it, better than flake or frozen foods do.

Some hard to keep fish do at least somewhat better when fed this food, such as the Mandarin Goby which may ignore other foods or just not get the food value from other foods which they must normally must get from live foods (like copepods which grow naturally right in well kept reef aquariums) to give them the specialized nutrition they need to survive and thrive in captivity.

I have two boxers, 4.2 yr old female and 7 month old male. This toy was dismantled within two days. That was not the problem -the ball has two smaller inner pieces melded together which make up the 'squeek'. When torn apart these two smaller rubber pieces can be lodged in the dog's throat which is a safety hazard. As soon as I realized my boxers each were chewing on these small rubber pieces, I immediately retrieved and trashed them. It was a surprise to me being a huge fan of KONG toys, still having some intact after four years.

No damage to the toy, yet, and no bite marks in the rubber. I really like all these Kong Squeezz dogs (I also have some animal shaped ones and a stick) and they all are really great toys.

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00259 Mag-Float Mini Glass and Acrylic Aquarium Cleaner

Gulfstream Tropical AGU00259 Mag-Float Mini Glass and Acrylic Aquarium CleanerThe magnetic floating cleaner is a great idea. One side attaches inside the tank, that has a scrubber, and the other side is a soft felt pad. Through the glass on the tank the magnets hold the two pieces together, allowing you to move the outside one which in turns moves the inside one scurbbing the tank.

The only complaint about this, was my own mistake, I ordered the small one, which is about an inch long, I needed one that was a bit bigger for my 29 gallon tank, this one works, but it just takes a bit longer.

this dang thing scratched my acylic aquarium the first time I used it. Nothing was between it and the aquarium, no stones, debris etc. It was a brand new magnet on a fairly new aquarium. Sorry I ruined my tank with this piece of junk. Use at your own risk...

Buy Gulfstream Tropical AGU00259 Mag-Float Mini Glass and Acrylic Aquarium Cleaner Now

Despite the product information stating that these will not damage acrylic tanks, the product left awful scratches on my tank the first time I used it! To add insult to injury, it did a very poor job removing algae. I just ended up with patches of algae streaked by the scratches in the tank. Don't waste your time and money with this product.

If you're looking for algae control in a freshwater tank, I would strongly recommend getting a couple Olive Nerite snails instead of wasting your money on a Mag-Float that will do more harm than good. Olive Nerite snails are voracious little algae eaters that will keep your tank spotless and can't reproduce in freshwater, so they won't overrun your tank. I purchased two of these snails for less than I spent on the Mag-Float that ended up in the trashcan.

I bought this at my local Petsmart as it was cheaper there and I even made sure that it said it would be safe for acrylic tanks. I came home in hopes that it'd be an easier way to clean the algae off the sides of my tank. But instead, I got TONS of lines going up and down my tank. BEWARE!

Zoo Med ReptiTherm® Under Tank Heater, Small

Zoo Med ReptiTherm® Under Tank Heater, SmallI've been keeping reptiles for nearly 20 years and have used a variety of different products, including various brands & sizes of undertank heat pads. In my opinion, the heat pads made by Zoo Med are some of the best (I only say this because there are a few other brands I have not tried personally). In the very least, they blow the ones made by Exo-Terra out of the water.

Before I go on, I want to emphasize that if you use these heat pads on the bottom of any caging, you MUST raise the bottom level of the enclosure to prevent it from pinching the cord of the pad. Most heat pads in general come with little rubber "lifters" to do this for glass tanks, and the instructions also go over this. If you do not follow this step, the pinching WILL cause the heat pad to malfunction, either getting too hot or not at all. In addition to the pinching, excess heat will build up underneath the enclosure, causing the heated area to get dangerously hot as well. And obviously, use a thermostat or rheostat.

I have never had an issue with one of these heat pads not getting hot enough or too hot when using them on a glass tank, and have yet to use a Rheostat with on a glass tank [I wager its because I always lift up the caging to prevent the pinching & overheating issue mentioned in the previous paragraph].

One thing I like about these heat pads is that they are relatively easy to remove and re-position, even on another enclosure if need be. I know the manufacturer advises against this, but if you peel it off slow and carefully, there shouldn't be an issue (especially if you are using correctly in the first place* see second paragraph). I have used the same heat pads for years on multiple enclosures as needed, of course, using a rheostat.

Also, the manufacturer recommends only using these pads on glass tanks. However, I have pushed the envelope and used them on plastic tubs and other non-glass caging. I have never had any major warping or overheating because I use a rheostat. I'm not suggesting anyone attempt this; I'm only saying I have good success using these pads on non-glass caging using the ZooMed rheostat.

I genuinely feel that if one follows the directions well, especially regarding raising the bottom of the enclosure and using a thermostat of some kind (both of which the instructions advise), they will not have issues with this product.

Recap...if you just let the bottom of the cage rest on & pinch the cord of the heat pad, you WILL have problems. If you try using this heat pad to heat an aquatic tank filled with water, you WILL have problems. If you choose not to use a thermostat, definitely check the basking area routinely with a thermometer to make sure the heat pad is staying at the optimal temperature.

Another thing is that for most caging, it is recommended that the heat pad should only occupy 25-30% of the bottom surface area of the enclosure. Remember to use this advice when choosing the right size for your reptile and caging. And if the heat pad is the right size for your cage, but your reptile is too large to warm itself on it, then its time to upgrade the caging!

We've had hermit crabs for years now this year with the cost of heating fuel, I wanted to keep the temps down in the house I can put an extra sweater on the kids but what about Hermie I and II? I bought this little item slapped it on the side of their tank (outside) put their water bowl on the inside close to the heat and whalla perfect warm humid environment. Even though the house is usually below 70 Hermie I and II will come out and play they did move their hermie huts to be a bit closer to the heat source but not directly next to it. I haven't even noticed my electric bill going up at all but my gas bill (heat) has certainly gone down and thats a good thing !

I use it on my 20 month old corn snake's "bedroom". (I hate the word "cage" so I call it her bedroom, it's really a 20 gallon fishtank.) It's just the right heat, anything bigger would get too hot for a corn even in a 55 gallon tank. Anything much stronger could cause burns. When she moves to the 55 gallon "bedroom", I'm going to use two of these next together so that she gets the same temperature she's used to and won't run the risk of burns. I've never had any problems with her getting a respiratory infection (yes snakes get colds too, they're also more prone to them when they're too chilly) and I think that this product is partially responsible for her good health.

Just a side note--when it gets really cold in the winter, I will actually move her so that she's on the heat pad right before I go to bed. It's kinda like tucking a child in for the night. It's easier for a warm reptile to move to the cool spot than for a chilly reptile to move to the warm spot.

Another side note--you need to put it at one end of the tank. Reptiles need a warm side and a cool side, that's most often reffered to as a temperature gradient. IMPORTANT: it goes on the OUTSIDE of the tank. I've heard of people putting it inside the tank and having their "scaly babies" get burns. Also, DON'T put the water dish over the heat pad, put it on the cold side, if it sloshes the heat pad will be ruined. By ruined, I mean it overheats and burns the reptile.

I bought this for keeping my hedgehog warm at night, since my house stays around 65F. Item work well for the size of it, I mean it does say "small" in the description, so you cant expect it to heat the entire tank. I have it plugged up to a temp regulation plug, set for 72F. I soon as I installed it on the bottom of the tank, my hedgehog nudged his house directly over it. Worked out exactly like I hoped it would!

This heater adequately heats a 20L for our two sliders, but meets only the bare minimum. We will be looking for an alternate heater for this winter.

One thing about this product is when they say small, they really mean small. I was surprised by the size of the product when it first arrived since it looked like it could barely heat a 10 gallon let alone a 20+ gallon tank. However, since we only fill our tank halfway, that could explain how it was just enough. Keep in mind though that this heater does not have a set temperature so it will continue heating until it is unplugged so you do not want to up size and risk overheating. Which is another reason we will be looking for an alternate. If they added temperature control, it would have been perfect.

The heater is great for the short term. It is still working though we've moved twice and it's gotten banged around quite a bit.

The fact that it goes under the tank is nice since it saves space from our already crowded tank with basking ramps and the water filter. It does not harm the surface we put it on.

Lastly, the heater has an adhesive top that sticks to the tank so you cannot remove it easily. Once removed, I don't think it could be reused as well. It is also thin enough that it doesn't put our tank at an angle which is nice.

Overall, this product was just okay. I do recommend this if you are on a low budget and want a decent heating unit. Something decent is still better than nothing.

UPDATE***9/25/2011

I just bought the medium sized heater for the tank and threw away the small sized ones. Now their habitat's like a spa. I hardly see them bask for extended periods of time any longer. What a worthwhile investment! I'm ecstatic it saves so much room inside of the tank and transfers heat more efficiently than the in-tank heaters. Again, as I mentioned above, please be careful as these do not have temperature control. I carefully monitored my tank temperature for 2 days until I was sure it was safe to keep permanently on.

SeaClear Rectangular Aquarium Combo (Clear)

SeaClear Rectangular Aquarium ComboThis tank is great, price is reasonable and build quality is great. The light fixture it comes with however... Just toss it, don't try to fix it, just toss it. Be prepare to shell out another 100-200 for a good light fixture. Seriously, don't even try to use the light fixture, just toss it and thank me later.

Great tank. Lifetime warranty. The only downside is the light it came with. Underpowered for the size of the tank. Buy a quality light. Overall great buy.

This tank is beautiful! It came two weeks earlier than expected, and was packaged perfectly. As other reviewers stated, the light is garbage, but I planned on this and ordered a Marineland Double-Bright fixture which looks very sleek and gives off a very natural light. I am so happy with the quality of this tank, the acrylic gives you such a crisp view and the rimless look is very modern. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. You can view a picture of my setup on the uploaded photos.

Super tank! Had a glass tank but it developed a leak. Had had an acrylic tank years ago so decided to replace my leaking glass tank for another acrylic tank. Could not like it better! It's light weight. And it looks terrific! The lines of the tank are clean and there is no annoying black frame holding it together. It's like there is no tank to interfere with the viewing of the fish.

Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy Hinge Black Small - 1 in. x 30 in. (1/8 in. thick)

Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy Hinge Black Small - 1 in. x 30 in.I ordered this because it was I need one ASAP and didnt think it was necessary to pay $20 for one of these silly things. I got it to work on my 1/8 inch thick glass lid but its not made for that thickness. It has two rows of "ribs" running through it which make it impossible to squeeze it on 1/8 inch glass. I didnt have time to return it so I sliced the ribs out with a razor blade and got it to fit snuggly on the glass that way. Its for a smaller thickness of glass.

I was so glad to find this hinge online. It works very well, but be very careful, it is difficult to put on the glass. Just take it slow and dont be in a rush. I used hand towels to hold on to the glass while sliding them down through the hinge.

This product took a while to come in the FedEx delivery, but was as expected and in good condition. The only issue I had was that this was too small for my aquarium glass thickness. My mistake, but maybe include measurement instructions on the website for getting the correct thickness.

Had I read the reviews more carefully I probably wouldn't have ordered this. But I'm glad I did read them before I tossed the hinge out. My glass is 1/8" thick and there was no way in the world this was going on. When I went back online to find another one to order I did read the reviews and decided to try cutting the ridges out--nothing to lose. I used a razor blade cutting tool and cut off the two ridges on only one side of each half of the hinge. It was a snug fit, but I got the hinge attached without too much difficulty. I could have cut off the other side but I was afraid it might be too loose. I wonder if the ridges are supposed to be softer and more flexible, but whoever is manufacturing them is making the ridges very "rigid" instead.
