I like this ornament it's cute and works great if you have valve to adjust the pressure. The other reviewer sounds like they have too much air pressure. Only about two bubbles come out every few seconds so not great it you want this for aeration.

Pretty cool ornament. Depending on the air-flow, it cycles every 10 to 20 seconds so the motion isn't too distracting. I would have given it 5 stars but the connector at the end of the tube came off. I repaired it with a little silicone.

I got these for a 72x18 inch tank and they do not fit and they sent it in three pieces, which was not labelled on the product description. I have no bracers on my tank so i had to make my own and even then the individual sections barely made it from bracer to bracer and they were actually like 70x17 all together. Also one the the handles on the section that lifts up was broken and i couldn't use it. i don't recommend unless you are buying from a store where you can see and measure the product

ViaAqua 100-Watt Quartz Glass Submersible Heater with Built-In Thermostat

This heater has no problem keeping a 10 gallon tank up to temp. The temp reading on the front is easy to see with it's orange coloring. The included mounting clip is sturdy with large suction cups that easily keep the heater in place.

It's not noted in the item info but this heater operates from 68 to 93 degrees. Good for tanks that need a higher temp for some tropical fish.

I bought this for two baby yellow bellied sliders. They seem to be doing fine and I believe it has helped stimulate appetite. The temperature was pretty accurate according to the built in thermostat. I have it running 80 degrees farenheit. It was only a few degrees higher than what it was supposed to be when I measured with a digital thermometer. I also have this at an angle even though it says in the instructions that it is a no no to do so. There is a caution in the manual that says something like wash your hands after handling with the product because it contains chemicals that are known to cause cancer and birth defects...I don't know what that could be though...The whole unit has been submerged with no problems. The heater does a good job of regulating the heat. Note: do not place the water outlet of your filter right on the heater. It will cause a temperature drop and cause the unit to heat up uneccessarily. Has a nice light that turns on to let you know when it is heating.

Got this the other day after another heater I had purchased was not working. I like how you can adjust it to the temperature you want and it's very easy to see the on light when it's working. It's been keeping my tank at a stable temperature for a few days. I have noticed that it is off by about 3 maybe 4 degrees but that's not a big deal plus I'm using it in a 10g tank. The one I have is fully submersible and the directions have a picture that clearly shows the whole unit under water. Hopefully it stays working in the weeks to come.

I bought this after buying another heater from walmart. Dont buy from walmart. Their products are poorly made, and break after a few days. This heater is great! My heater is set to 76 degrees and my tank is 76 degrees.

Installed the heater and observed the temperature for about 5 hours. When I left for work, everything is fine.....when I returned from work 7/10 of my little guys were dead. The three that survived were a Betta and two snails. I work from 7pm-7am and when I walked through the door I bee-lined to the tank to see how their doing. Well 7 fish were floating. Not bitten or chewed(I inspected them). The temp was like 89 or 90! I set the dial to 80F and it stayed that way the whole time I was watching them before work. Idk if the temp in my house dropped so low, and that's why the temp was water high or what. But that was the whole reason I wanted a heater to keep a steady temp!

Update:(October 21, 2012)...Time has passed and everything is fine now. I do not alter the temp on the heater at all. And I do have a separate thermometer BTW, you cant really tell what temp the heater displays.

Exotic Environments Cobblestone Archway Aquarium Ornament, 7-Inch by 2-1/2-Inch by 6-1/2-Inch

I own another Exotic Environments cobblestone piece Exotic Environments Cobblestone Castle Walls Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/2-Inch that is gorgeous and the colors are just as vibrant and detailed as in the photograph. Unfortunately, that isn't the case with this particular piece. The tree roots (and parts of the cobblestones) are covered in white, splattered brush marks, the cobblestones are a dull, unattractive brown, and the trees themselves are a dull greenish brown. I will keep it since my little betta loves archways, but I'm very disappointed with how the item was represented. I know the old "not all monitors show colors the same", but the other Exotic Environments items I've purchased have always looked exactly like the colors in the photographs, and the greenery shown in the photo here are the same as the green shown in other listings I've purchased from this brand. I'm guessing whoever painted mine was having a bad day, or ran out of the colors they needed and decided to wing it with what they had (which seemed to be a palette of white, brown, and a slightly greenish brown).

You will need a hole digger to dig the 4' hole. Initially add 4 gallons of water and the "stuff" and you're set. Once a week add one gallon of water and table spoon of the "stuff" and that's all you need do. Mine has been installed for a week and I like it. This thing is small. It is rated as a 40 gallon, in tank filter. There is only enough room for a little bit of media, and the only thing included is a thin strip of black sponge, the more porous kind for housing bio bacteria. But that's it. It will not hold Purigen in the bag, nor does it come with regular floss or carbon. You could add carbon to it in loose form. At least add some small bio-balls, or folded up filter floss. It would not be sufficient as your only method of filtration on a 40 gallon tank. Really, on any tank, as it is. However, it is quiet and produces a good outflow. The little suction cups work well, also. I'm using it in my 75 gallon tank as extra filtration, but mainly to agitate the surface. (I am using the suction cups to hold it on, almost at the bottom of the tank, and have the outflow pointing up) It has a few different attachments so you can point the outflow however you like. There is an attachment to attach it to an air pump also. One thing that is dumb: THERE ARE NO INTRUCTIONS. Luckily it's basic and I've set up and tweaked filters for many years. If you're looking for a cheap filter, spend the extra $5-$10 and get something else (BIGGER) from a bigger named company. Do not use this as your only means of filtration, because it is not large enough to hold the proper material for adequate filtration. You need (1) Aquarium floss or a sponge to collect debris that's floating in the water (2) Something porous to allow beneficial bacteria to grow on (VERY IMPORTANT-Google 'Nitrogen Cycle') (3) Possibly carbon, to purify your water. (You have to change it regularly or it starts to pollute your tank) So it's not big enough to house all that...but it is excellent to move water (avoiding "dead spots") and help oxygenate the tank (by agitating the surface). Also cheaper and quieter than a power-head setup, and just as effective.

You might as well let the bettas share the tank because they either hop over the divider or slip right past it near the top when're the glass bows because the divider is not even close to snug fit! I fished the bettas back and forth six times in the first three hours after I set this up! I finally had to jam cut strips of filter pads in the gaps between the walls and the edge of the divider so it sealed the edges...also laid a fish net acreen across the top to stop the jumping over...then, I could go to bed! Maybe of the divide was more solid they wouldn't be so tempted. It's too bad...Cute set up with decent room for the fish. But, tomorrow I have to go buy a better set up! Great idea Aqueon... Now make it work!

I hate to make things worse for the seller here, but I can tell just by the appearance of this thing that its not really sufficient to separate two bettas. I tried to keep 2 in a tank with a divider just like this, they were easily able to see each other through it and nipped at each other through the holes. A good divider is one that doesn't let the bettas see each other at all.

After several attempts of tring to grow several live banaba plants in my aquarium, I decided to try planting an artificial one. I saw this on amazon. com, and decided to give it a try. It is made out of silk, and once placed in my aquarium, it looks just like a real plant. Since is it make out of silk, the leaves sway in the currents, and my fish like to swim among the leaves. It is also a good size at 10 inches.

110V 50W Watt Submersible Aquarium Fish Tank Water Heater

The heater that arrived does not look exactly like the one in the picture. That said, I am 100% satisfied with this heater. I put this 50 watt heater in a 5 gallon Corydoras Habrosus breeding tank, and it has already been through a month-and-a-half breeding cycle with varying temperatures. The temperature dial is about 2-4 degrees off, but I am used to having to calibrate heaters (even the expensive ones seem to be a bit off). For the price and quality, these heaters cannot be beat. I will be ordering another one soon for a new grow out tank. Be aware that the cord is short.

First off it isn't even the one in the picture. There are no instructions. The thermostat isn't set to degrees. It has 18-32 and that's it. It doesn't adjust easily at all. You can't tell where the temperature is cause no scale is included. It isn't worth 5 cents. Basically, the heater blows monkey chow. Save yourself the headache and your money. Don't buy this heater.

Kent Marine Pro-Dechlorinator

If you are looking for a dechlorinator that doesn't have other addatives in it this is the product you want. This will treat pleanty of water compared to those others that are not concentrated. When you see how little you need it is very cheap to use and it works.

I use this on the water for my hermit crabs, because the tap water here is heavily chlorinated. So far, my crabs haven't dropped dead from chlorine, and that's high praise as far as I can tell.

Kent Marine Pro-Dechlorinator seems to do its job adequately and fairly simply. I have never had a problem with a tank I have used this product for my primary dechlorinator. Kent Marine Pro-Dechlorinator does not exceed expectations so I do not believe a five star rating is warranted but I would recommend this to anyone who needs a consistent and effective dechlorinator.

The only drawback to Kent Marine Pro-Dechlorinator I have encountered is the measuring system on the cap isn't very useful if you like to add small amounts of dechlorinator to buckets or jugs before adding the water to your tank. The cap deals with 10 to 50 gallon quantities. From my experience, it seems about two drops will do its job for each gallon of water being mixed and treated before being added. I suppose you could buy a chlorine test before doing a water change and calculate the exact amount of drops to effectively treat each gallon of water, but for my water it seems two drops gets it done.

I have been using Kent products for over a decade for both fresh and saltwater tanks. I like Kent's professional packaging and over all consistency. Kent has yet to disappoint and Kent Marine Pro-Dechlorinator can be another product added to a very long list of other great Kent products.

U.P. Aqua Mini Thermometer (F)

As the product title states, it's a mini thermometer. The only temps listed are in increments of 10 deg with a 5 deg mark in-between. You won't be able to read a precise temp from it, but it's decent for a rough guess if that's all you need. As far as accuracy, it's hard to tell because reading it's always a "best guess." I used a digital thermometer to try to measure this products accuracy and from what I could tell, the digital thermometer always read about 3-4 degrees higher. I decided this wasn't worth the effort of guessing and stopped using it.

Would not recommend unless your not interested in a true reading and only need a 5 degree range.

Aquatop Aquarium Air Driven Internal Corner Filter

I purchased this from TruAqua because the shipping time on Amazon was weeks. Anyway, I think this is a good low-tech filter but better for 10 gal and up. I have a 7 gal and the size of the filter and its bubble are a little big for my tank. I like that it come with good media (I replaced the black foam with white because I don't want any carbon filtration) and it's easy to do. The top comes off easily but not sure if I can open the partition that has the gravel and ceramic. I haven't really tried yet for concern about breaking the plastic. It seems sturdy, and I like that the outflow is adjustable. Just wish there was a way to make finer bubbles.

There are so many power filters out there that people forget about good old air driven filters. This one works very well and does not suck up young fry.

The fish in my in my outdoor pond were looking sluggish. I tested the ph,acid and chlorine levels and everything checked out ok. I figured maybe my water feature was not moving the water fast enough to keep it aerated so I decided to add this pump. My pond is 10x8 and about 2 to 3 feet deep. I was surprised that this little pump was able to move so much air.

Minutes after adding it to my pond the fish came alive and started swimming around. The pump puts out a lot of air, even in 3 feet of water the bubbles make it all the way to the top. The pump does not come with any tubing or instructions (at least in my box) and it does not have an on and off switch. There is just a knob to control how much air you want it to pump. It uses 1/4" diameter air tubing. I used Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Ponds Ceramic Air Stone Diffusers, 40mm Diameter with this pump.

Compared to your typical aquarium pump, this pump is quiet. It has been running constantly since I bought it and I have not experienced any issues. The pump is not waterproof so if you plan to use it outdoors is has to be protected from the elements. Also make sure there is adequate air flow around the unit or else the motor may burn out.

Update 4/21/2013: The pump has been running non stop for almost a year now without any issues.

it does what it says, it's quiet, and has a reliable mechanism....I've been using six of these 24-7 for a year now...no failures.

there is a small disc-shaped inlet filter on the bottom, with a foam insert that is easily cleaned and maintained. just take them out once in awhile, rinse them and dry them, and that will keep accumulated dust from lowering it's performance.

All in all, they have been worth every penny.
