Marineland (Aquaria) AMLPR3410 Aquarium Hood with Lamp Base Replacement Assembly for Eclipse Power

We purchased this replacement cover for an Eclipse 12 freshwater home aquarium. The Eclipse 12 is what many wold consider a modest "desktop" sized aquarium that is great for home or office, and especially great for kids. Well, the hinged lid on the Eclipse we had broke, as did the built in light.

We purchased this new hood with lamp base to keep out Eclipse 12 running. This unit is well made, and we were happy to get a light that could work again, as the other died as a result of calcium deposits ( typical with hard water, no fault of the product).

Everything was great, until we realized this hood assembly did not come with a lid to keep the fish from jumping out of the tank! The Eclipse 12 came with a lid, but it brokeso we were expecting this replacement to have the lid already in it. NOPE.

This product is well made and works fine, but lacking that lidI just don't get it....it's a $2.00 plastic part that should ABSOLUTELY be part of this package for the price! If you are in need of a lid too, be aware that you will have to find one separately. We have been unable to locate one as of yet!!

Given that fact that this is not a standard hood size makes this tank undesirable. The filtration system is good, but the hood design is the worst. The light goes out a lot and the bulbs are $12 each. The little flap to feed the fish is a strange shape and right over the carbon filter so half the time you end up feeding the filter instead of the fish and it gets messy. I think I paid $89 at the local shop for the tank, but the hood system itself is $35 to replace.

I would stick with the standard size aquariums with the standard hoods and pay extra for a fluval filtration system and nice skimmer. I'm reconsidering replacing the tank instead of buying the new hood system.

The tank is pleasing to look at and is bright, though.

When our original lamp broke (poor design cover cracked and moisture gets in) I ordered this. While it works, it is still a poor design and I'm sure will break again within a year or so. Plus, this doesn't fit the tank quite the same as the original and now the tank has calcium/lime build up all down the sides of the tank an d not just the lid.

I bought this cage after pouring through reviews on all the cages out there. I had hamsters as a kid and still remembered how cheap they could be. Quite frankly, I chose this one based on the comments from the breeder saying they use the whole product line.

I liked that it was a self contained unit without tubes connecting outside the cage. I have had hamsters escape from tubes and based on the reviews of other cages it looks like they haven't solved the issue in the last 20 years. This one seemed ideal because it had a tube but it made up the spine of the cage. The other appeal for me was that it was tall and narrow, so the hamster had a lot of space without taking up our space in the house.

That said, when we tried to assemble it everything fell apart, literally. The cage is made up of three seperate wire pieces that sort of hinge together, then the tube slides into the gap and the whole thing locks into the base. Since the walls are made of four interlocking parts the cage is a bit wobbly. We weren't very concerned since we assumed the three levels and the top would stabalize the whole cage. HOWEVER, the levels do not lock onto the cage. Bumps or notches in the level jet out and rest on the tube and wire cage. During assembly the levels would slip down a rung on one side or just collapse all together. To be thorough, we completed the assembly to see if the stairs and the top would help stabalize the levels by locking everything together. We knew this was an excercise in futility. The stairs click into one level and rest on the on below it, so it didn't add support. The top locks in and it DID tighten things up but, as expected the levels fell just by jiggling it back and forth.

If it wasn't a hamster death trap it would have been perfect! I am surprised the other reviewers did not mention this issue. I must allow the possiblity that mine is somehow defective but I can't fathom how. We had all the pieces and the three levels were formed exactly the same.

I am waiting to hear back from the seller, Aquarium Decor & More, regarding return. Hopefully it will not be an issue.

I am a hamster breeder of Russian dwarf hamsters and I have five different 'Here and There' cages from Penn-Plax. One is the economy and it is a good price but my hamsters like the larger versions. I have two small, one medium, and one large. My favorite is the Medium one, I call this one the large. It is a well built cage, easy to clean, my hamsters love climbing the bubble tube up to the top level. It is easy to detach the carrier on the top. I have tried several other brands even a ten gallon tank and the 'Here and There' cages are the best on the market. You won't go wrong buying this one for your fist hamster. It holds 6 to 8 easily, but I suggest no more then 6 Russian dwarf hamsters.

Other breeds are solitary and you cannot put more then one in a cage!!

I personally use this one as my breeding case because there is so much room for momma and papa with the little ones to grow in. When momma pushes the babies out of the nest daddy takes over teaching and caring for them. It is good to leave them all together for a month and a half. It is so much fun to watch the little ones clime all over this cage.

Keep in mind that all sizes of this cage have the same try size so the more dwarf hamsters you have in the cage the more often you need to change the bedding. I really do love these cages. I have had a few hamsters escape but only one was from one of these cages but, since these guys are very social it isn't long before they come find you for food or water. One who escaped from a fish tank came running into my son's lap one night while he was playing video games sitting on the floor. Spooked them both.

When my hamster runs in it, it shakes the whole cage and you just hear this rattling. Maybe it's because he's so fat. Who knows...

This is a nice cage and spacious, but if your hamster is a climber than do not get this! When I mean climber, I mean climbs up the cage wires... this is exactly what my hamster would do, she climbed the wires all the way to the top and would just fall! Or when she got to the 4th level, she was too stupid to realize to take the ramp or elevator tube to go down, so she would try to climb down with the cage wires and would just fall. If you have a docile hamster who isnt retarded and wont climb the wires, get this cage. Otherwise stay away, or your hamster might die from falling.

Excelent product, works great and easy to clean. Only con is that the motor has to by almost entirely horizontal in order for the motor to start absorbing the water. (It should work imediatly in a vertical position upon pluging it into an outlet but doesn't.)

I love the the size and every thing seems to fit well enough. Although there were no instruction and nothing to go by. So I had to go on the internet to see what it should look like also one of the suction cups were broken. I mght by another one if it holds up.

Update: my original 4 stars is now 2 because it does not hold any fry which it was bought for and the suction cups do not work in the end I had to throw it away.

This guppy breeding net was horrible. It was way to big for my tank, it was a flimsy little piece of junk, and it sucked. It didn't even come with insructions of how to put it together! The frame was flimsy, and broke very easily. The pegs that hold it together were wierd shaped and didn't fit in the holes very well. The actual net was pretty much just a hairnet. The only thing it actually did was keep the bigger fish away from the guppy. I would NOT reccomend this product.

At first glance, the product looks pretty neat. Some may say that its size is too small, but 10.3 inches is 10.3 inches. So no cribs on that. However, the net is of extremely poor quality and had started ripping off the bottom seams when I received it. In case you want to use this breeder net, I recommend that you glue the bottom seams (with silicon sealant)to the plastic base after you slip the net on. The other problem is with the suction cups. They fit loosely into the slots provided. It is better to apply some silicon glue to the suction cup slots once you have placed the suction cups. So in case you still decide to purchase this product, make sure that you do have some silicon glue on hand.

This is a descent size breeder net. I Have African Cichlids up to 5" long and these nets work well.

There are a few little things that could be better, but I was able to rig it up easily enough.

The suction cups that hold it up are facing up, so the net needs to be hung from the tank lid.

Not very practical, so I had to hot glue different cups that would hold the net to the side of the tank instead.

Now they work perfect, they hold the Momma fish until the she spits her fry, then it lets the fry grow in safety.

I've tried others and they were either to small or nothing would keep them near the surface of the tank. So for

the money and a minor adjustment this will do the job.

This net is a lot bigger than I thought it was, however it fits nicely inside my 20 gallon tank and I can see the rest of the tank plus the babies within the netting. The only downfall I have with this set up is that it collects dirt and debris from the tank and gets stuck in the netting and is nearly impossible to get out and clean it back to the orgional state, and the suction cups have a tendency to get worn and not hold anymore after a while. It does work for its purpose however, as I have managed to successfully raise 17 different batches of Guppy babies in it thus far.

Kritter Keeper, Small

Make no mistake, you shouldn't try to keep animals in the Kritter Keeper indefinitely if they are of any real size (larger than a few inches) or if they are fish. However, these containers are absolutely ideal for insects and other creepy-crawlies like spiders, centipedes, worms, and any other "bug". I highly recommend these for people who catch bugs outdoors in warm weather. Great for kids!

By the way, I wouldn't rely on that handle. It looks a tad flimsy. Carry the Keeper by its sides.

The holes in the top make this unusable (without modification) for containing many insects.

The slats that you can see in the picture are big enough for many bugs to escape. What you can't see in the picture, is that for some reason the designers decided to add 2 much larger holes on one side of the top...

I have just started to get into plants and in the front where the feeding door is there is a long dark spot. I'm very impressed with this hood. I bought this for a 29g tank that measures 30" X 13". This is a universal fit hood that sits on top of the frame (instead of sitting inside on the ledges). There are several plastic nubs that you break off depending on the brand so this seats perfectly. My hood hung over the back about 1cm but that was ok as it still covered everything and the back is hidden anyway.

I'm impressed with this hood as it's very high quality. The plastic is nice and strong and everything is well made. Everything works well. The light fixture is separate from the cover so you can remove it when changing the water. There is a strip of plastic in the back that can be cut for cord and air tubing access. I waited a long time to get a 30" hood because they're pretty expensive and I'm very glad I got this deal. This is my second Perfecto brand hood and I like their hoods very much.

Strong bubbles. Had it for a couple months now and still works like a champ.

Great for cloning if your trying hydroponics. The bubbles the stone creates splash the stems perfectly for even distribution.

The air stone I received did not look like the one in the picture. Instead, it looked almost exactly like this:Hydrofarm ASCL Large Active Aqua Air Stone Cylinder, which I ordered for comparison. The only difference was that the sealant used to secure the fitting was more like cement rather than rubber sealant. The other product is also a dollar cheaper. However, because they are so similar they probably will be similarly good.

Update: Be sure to have a powerful pump to use this air-stone to full effect. Something rated for up to 20 gallons is too little; bubbles will only come out of the top where the fitting enters the stone. Added a star because it works fine with a 7.8L/min pump.

I got two of these river rock bags to place in a large glass hurricane together with a candle. They work perfectly. While there were a few bigger rocks in both bags (approx. 2.5" to 3"), the majority are around 1.5", give or take. All of the rocks were intact, none broken. I have an 8 and a 14G Biocube both salt and I love both of them. The lights 10,000k and Actinic 420 actually last awhile I had the same bulbs for a year I got new one's your really supposed to change them about every 6-7 months for proper coral growth. NO BS whithin the first 3 hours everything opened up and has grown tremendously in the past 3 weeks now. You might complain about the price but for what they do and how long they last their 100% worth it.

Standard Replacement bulb. Put it in to replace a blown bulb, it worked. The last one of these I had from a LFS I paid $25 for and it only lasted 4 months at 12 hours a day on. I dont know if I got a bad bulb or maybe the life span on these is kind of low. either way when I got this one for $15 How can I complain.

Dogtra No Bark Collar

I think this is a good product. Has both stimulation mode and just vibration mode which is great. My dog barks at vehicles with loud exhaust and other random things, when he first barked with this on the freaked out that it 'corrected' him. He learned very quick as in he almost now thinks its punishment in a way if it's on so he knows not to bark.

Key on sizing: it just says YS300 over 10 lbs. YS500 over 20 lbs. may dog is 35 lbs so I order YS500, way too big. YS500 probable should say over 60lbs. They both have straps you can cut which are long, my dogs neck girth is 24" and the YS300 strap had 6+" left.

We got this collar because our 7+ year old lab mix was barking so much, she was driving everyone crazy, including our 3 other dogs. The first day, I set it on vibrate because she was trained to an invisible fence pretty easily so thought it might work at that level. She noticed it but kept barking, so the next day I turned it up just to the next level. She barked, it zapped her, she cried, then she shut up and she hasn't barked for the past two days. I have it back to the vibration only setting because I don't want her to cry, and she seems to have gotten the message. So, although I have only been using this for a week, I think that if you need to get your dog to be quiet, this will do it. She is a 60+ pound dog with a big neck, and it fits her just fine even though it says small to medium size.

Our dog is small (12 pounds) and I had no problem cutting the collar down to fit her. I only had to set it on 2 in order to get her to quit barking. One day of shocks was all it took for her to learn (actually, only two shocks did it!). Now, all I have to do when she starts barking is say, "I'll get the collar out!" and she quits immediately. The best money I ever spent on our little Dusty. Life is peaceful once again!

I looked at a lot of collars, and eventually decided to buy it. I have a English Pointer that is a nut case when it comes to barking. I had a battery powered one that I had originally bought for $25. and it wasn't doing the job. She had learned to pitch her voice so that it did not shock her all the time. Sometimes she would get the shock, but only if she got careless. I would love to say that the Dogtra totally corrected her barking, but alas, she has learned to get around this one as well sometimes.

The thing that attracted me to this collar is that it has a vibration warning built in to the collar. She knows what the vibration means, but she has learned that if she waits longer than the 15 seconds, she can bark again and only experience the vibration. Rarely she will miscalculate and get the shock, but not often.

I gave it a 5 star rating, as nothing will totally stop this dog from expressing her opinion. This one is the best that I have found however. I have had it for several months and after charging it once when I got it, it is still holding enough power that it does not indicate that it needs recharging yet.

I would definitely recommend this collar. It is built well, and a well thought out product.

The light is very compact and bright. Unfortunately the design is cheap and LEDs are not cooled properly. Even if you power it at the lowest voltage rated (10V) and the strip is mounted on flat conductive surface, the LEDs will dim down very significantly after a few minutes of turning it ON. If you try powering it at 24V, LEDs will dim dow to about 10% of the initial light output in less than 30 s.

I have an Red Sea Max 130D and wanted more of the blue actinic look for when the main compact fluorescents were not turned on (the standard moon lights that comes with the tank are two wimpy small blue LEDs). This light bar fits in light housing perfectly! I had to wire it to a DC wall adapter, but even the most novice electrician can do this (some electrical tape, wire stripper, scissors, and crimp connectors some shrink tubing if you want to get fancy) and then screw the two mounting brackets in to the metal light deflector.
