I originally bought this for my mom's shih tzu, however, I failed to pay attention to this being a "large" toy. It was almost as big as the poor girls head! Despite her (the shih tzu's) attempts, she just couldn't play with it.

Luckily my niece has a boxer/english mastiff cross and she has destroyed every toy but this one. Well, until now haha.

She's just now after several weeks managed to gnaw off a single leg, but its still her favorite toy, and for a dog with a boxer's energy and a mastiff's size and power--that says something.

Definitely worth the money, provided your dog is a serious enough sized dog to enjoy it. I'd recommend this one for dogs anywhere from 45lbs+ in size. Basically medium sized and up.

I keep a 20 gallon natural style tank and this was the perfect addition. I would suggest that you soak it for a good while or you will be stuck with a tea colored tank for a little while. The water staining has gone away after a few water changes.

I love this driftwood. I got it yesterday, put it in the tank. It sunk immediately and didn't stain my water. I didn't have any prep beforehand like with other driftwood. The two-toned coloring is very appealing to the eye. The small piece is great for a 10 gallon tank and would be a focal piece for a smaller tank. I will be buying larger pieces for my 55 gallon. The price is great and this is truly a trouble free piece of driftwood.

EDIT: One year later.... I have a fuzz growing on the wood that everyone says is normal and will go away in a week or two except it hasn't gone away in a whole year! Its still a great piece of wood but I suggest boiling yours before adding it to your tank.

This Mopani wood is very beautiful. Please know that it is nothing like the picture... do you really expect them to mold a fake wood? No. You wouldn't be paying $10 for it then. So appreciate that each piece of wood is unique and natural. It will sink straight to the bottom when you get it, but I HIGHLY suggest boiling it for about an hour OR soaking it in hot water for 24 hours (changing the water every so often). Boiling or soaking the wood will help avoid your water turning your tank water a brownish color from the tannins in the wood. While the brown color does not bother your fish, it is not as pleasant to look at.

If you have Mopani wood and you are noticing a discoloration in your tank I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest purchasing Seachem Purigen 100ml it works some serious wonders! I put it in my tank it the tank was crystal clear within 24 hours!

I bought this to replace a very LOUD rio, this one is wonderful so farno vibration, quieter than the water trickling into the overflow box. I can't speak for lasting power, because I've only had it for a few hours.

I've had this pump for about 10 days and it's been running fine. I did a water change today in preparation for a vacation I'm taking this week. After changing the water I turned on the pump and it didn't work. It's a tight fit in my sump, so it's not easy getting it in/out. I have two of these pumps. One powers my wet/dry filter system. I also have a 3000 which powers my in-sump protein skimmer. They are all very efficient, compact and QUIET pump. Reliable too! It is intended to keep a birdbath full, and it seemed to work right away, but the next morning the float was under water, and the birdbath was overflowing. The problem turned out to be a bad seam [the float is made in parts and glued together], and it filled with water. I contacted the distributor, and they sent me a replacement which worked ok. For over $ [incl. shipping] though, this is not a good value, even though customer service was good. There are others out there that are less expensive and just as good if not better.

I have been using this for our RO-DI unit and it's been working like a charm for about a year. However, now it's not functioning anymore and I need to replace it. Perhaps for the price this should have been as long they would have lasted.

Hydrofarm AAPA25L Air Pump with 8 Outlets

I've owned about 5 different air pumps (of those were AquaCulture, Marina, Hydrofarm) ... I've found that only Hydrofarm pumps don't fail when you run them 24/7 ... With those other brands (AquaCulture, Marina, and even Tetra for that matter) the nozzle responsible for pushing out air is made of plastic. Every plastic nozzle eventually broke off one day and killed my plants before I even knew what went wrong. The airline was connected only once after unboxing. With that said, if you never touch the air pump and leave it running, it should last for years and years. AquaCulture and Marina can't keep that promise.

I've only bought two other air pumps from Hydrofarm: a single and a double outlet. The single-outlet Hydrofarm was the first air pump I bought ever, and it only failed because I unknowingly placed the pump on the ground and it sucked up water. If you read the directions, there are even pictures stating not to place the pump below water levels. For whatever reason I decided to try other brands. I still have a 2-outlet Hydrofarm and a few other AquaCulture single & double outlets: the Hydrofarm has now become my first backup and the AquaCulture (with plastic nozzles) are my backup's backup.

My garden grew to the point 1 and 2 outlet aquarium air pumps didn't fit the bill. I needed something that could push significantly more air than an aquarium air pump, but I was annoyed with far divide between commercial and residential air pumps. I needed something that pushed a lot of air but didn't make a lot of noise: I even thought of buying a commercial air pump and running a 70 foot airline so I didn't have to hear it. I was really between a rock and a hard place so I took a chance on this 8-outlet pump.

I don't know what I was expecting. My first Hydrofarm air pump had 2 outlets and was about the size of a softball. The single was about the same size.

One day I came home and saw this box on my porch that looked like it could fit a Jack Russell Terrier. I was waiting on 2 or 3 different Amazon orders, but I didn't order anything that should look like that. I lifted the box and the weight felt like there could have been a small dead dog in there. Anyway I opened the box, and the freaking pump is the size of a watermelon! A damn watermelon of an air pump!! A behemoth with 8 ports.

It's been running 2 months now 24/7 with no problems. I wasn't sure how I was going to divide the air: I assumed I might have to spoil one plant with two outlets, but each port puts out enough to really beat your roots if you don't diffuse them with airstones or similar. I finally gave up on airstones because I can't find any that are quality, so 1 outlet on each plant with the dial turned to 40-50% output is better air than they've ever gotten before.

Noise was also a concern. If you want to keep these pumps as silent as possible, each outlet has to be running somewhere, even if the airline isn't connected to anything. If you compared the noise of the 2-outlet and 8-outlet Hydrofarm air pumps, they are both extremely quiet, but each of the outlets has to be used (if nothing more than airline running away from it). I'm using all 8 outlets on this air pump and it is extremely quiet: any outlet on either pump without airline makes a very noticeable annoying vibration. One can easily be louder over the other just based on if you're using all the ports. When all the ports are used properly it makes the sound of a small refrigerator ... so you can be 10 feet away and barely notice it.

I knew residential air pumps were lacking performance and I know commercial air pumps would be way too noisy. This pump is the best both worlds without the negative of either. If I need more air I will likely buy another one of these before I upgrade to a noisy commercial pump.

I bought two of these, haven't hooked the second one up but the first one has more push than I even really needed, and it functions without creating a tremendous amount of noise. I'm glad I bought this product.

As for the person whose air pump didn't work, how about reviewing after contacting the manufacturer? Defective products happen, and Hydro Farm is perhaps the most reputed supplier in the arena of hydroponics. I'm sure they would be happy to replace the product and/or issue a refund.

I'm happy with the look of this item -it's sufficiently realistic for my tastes. However, I was alarmed by the number of sharp edges and spike-like casting spurs. All of the openings had edges sharp enough, I believe, to injure fish. I therefore felt obliged to use a Dremel tool to grind out the sharp edges and spurs (inside the decoration), before installing it.

this product is nice and my fish seem to love the hideout. On the down side the product started to show discoloration at a few days from first use.. only for that reason i would not recomend it to you. maybe if you have many plants is issue can be no big deal...

One of the prettiest artificial plants I have ever bought. It has a graceful bend in the water, very similar to the photo. Very full and lushious looking. The base is tan and heavy so holds this large plant in place. At a generous 24 in tall, it looks great in my 75gal tank. The leaf color is light green which look really nice against a blue or black backdrop.

I have found that i like plastic better than silk while silk plants look nice to start with, they start to get discolored and start to fray after about 5 mths. Living plants are more work and take time to get this big. So I'm sticking with easy inexpensive artificial plants.

Danner 01717 SP-200 200 GPH Statuary Pond Pump with Barb Fittings

I have a 55 Gallon tank set up, and this works great for getting water into my tank instead of treating water and dumping gallon pitcher by gallon pitcher at a time. The only problem was it was missing the barb adapters. The tube shown on the top of the pump is exactly ½ in. I am still not sure how to use the ¼ in. tubing adapter. If you are looking for a cheap pump that works, this is it.

This was the first Danner pump I have purchased. The description here on Amazon was a bit lacking so I went directly to Danner's website. According to Danner's website and the instruction manuals provided on the website, this pump can be used submerged or inline with an included adapter. The pump literally arrived at my door 5 minutes ago and I'm going to have to return it.

The attachment to convert the pump to inline operation was not included. My application requires an inline setup, so I guess I'm out of luck. There are also no barb fittings included. I mean, come on, the title of the product reads "Statuary Pond Pump with Barb Fittings" and there are no barb fittings.

This may actually be a great pump, it may not be. I really have no idea because it didn't include the pieces required for me to use it.

I must say, I'm more than a little disappointed. I don't think I'll be buying another Danner pump.

Seachem Alkaline Buffer 600gram

I know a lot of people use regular baking soda to raise there pH levels, but Seachem's Alkaline buffer is much safer and it also has it's limits, which baking soda doesn't. Baking soda can raise your pH level to much and to fast, both of which are deadly to your fresh water fish.

I use this Alkaline buffer because my city water is very soft, and has a pH level of about 5.8 to 6.0

I need it to be closer to 8.0, with higher KH as well. My KH level is almost non existent, but with the addition of Seachems Alkaline buffer it's raised to 7, which aids in keeping my pH stable over time.

So this product does an excellent job in raising both pH and KH, for fresh water aquariums, and thats great for my fish!

Seachem is both a high quality, and highly trusted name with aquarium keepers all over.

They also make one of the best and safest water conditioners made, it's called "Prime"

It makes your tap water safe for fish by removing heavy metals, it converts ammonia to a non toxic form (great for when a new tank is cycling), and is just very safe.

Tetra 77851 Whisper Air Pump, 10-Gallon

The last thing you want when sitting back and relaxing in front of your peaceful aquarium is the buzz or hummm of an air filter. We had and old (4 years) AQT 1000 which we had to unplug at night because of its peculiar humming.

So I asked the guy at the fish store which of the many air pumps is the quietest. "The Tetra Whisper Air Pump" he picked one up off the shelf and casually tossed it over my way.

Wow not much of and introduction. So I bought a different unit, well because I know better don't I? Sure. Two days later I retuned that one because it was competing with the refrigerator in the hum contest. And it was winning.

Sure enough this 'Whisper" is a very quiet unit. Peaceful and unobtrusive.

We have a 35 gal / 24" deep tank and the #10 gal Air Pump provides great bubble power.

I would recommend trying the lower powered ones for your tank and if need be working up to a higher stength if necessary. My friend has a #10 in his 50 gal tank and it pushes plenty of air for bubbles.

Tetra recommends an optional check valve to prevent water from siphoning back in case there is a power outtage. We just put a loose loop in the air hose behind the tank. But you may be safer with the check valve.

Quiet + powerful + reliable (We have had it for 9 months now) = Silencioso!

This pump works quite well! I have a beta fish and my previous pump wasn't working so my "Shark" :) wasn't as playful as he usually was in my 5 gallon tank. As soon as I hooked this pump up though, he became himself again. My old pump was no where nearly as powerful and there are dozens more bubbles than that old heap could have ever produced. It DOESN'T come with the tubbing, however. So you have to purchase that seperately. It is a very quiet pump and I'm glad I purchased it!

Got the Whisper 10 for my 12g aquarium. It's been working for about 2 years now. So the durability is great. I wish I can say the same about the sound it makes. It falls short from living to its name as being a "whisper." Albeit, it's not necessary loud either. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have known any better because I haven't gotten any other air pumps rated at this size for any other tanks. So I thought that the sound this makes is expected for an air pump of this size. This is, until now. I just picked up the Hagen Marina 75 pump for my other tank and by comparison, the Hagen is virtual silent. That was my main thing for choosing another air pump, I needed absolute silence. I just don't know how a product like this Tetra can call themselves a "whisper" when it's contradictory. Anyway, still not a bad buy... I DO LIKE how this Tetra Whisper comes with an air control valve to fine tune the amount of air pumping in to your airstone (or whatever you have it hooked up to). Not a lot of air pumps come with one... so if you bought another brand, you might have to get that separately if you want less bubbles.

Hi. I just received my Whisper 10 Air Pump yesterday, with my Tetra 10 Deluxe kit. They work just fine. I use the air pump to connect it with my wall bubble wand (or airstone) that I bought at pet store. The pump is powerful and silent, and doesnt get any hot even though been used for days. Set up was very easy as it only has one outlet which is for the air tube. I have a led aeration bar that I ordered from Hong King and it looks very nice. The air pump hums of course but not so loud that you'll mind.

Pros: Small, easy to use, has grip legs so it doesn't slide off of stuff.

Cons: Its hums but not as loud as your filter though, and it provides a lot of bubbles that can cause a small current they will stress out the fish.

Tip: If the air pump is a little too strong then you can use a small rubber band and bend the tube a little then tie the rubber band around the tube line to decrease the amount of air produced. That's what I did to mine. And it creates smaller streams of bubbles where my tetras and platies love. :)
