It does a very good job of filtering my tank. I have a frog with a half and half tank setup. The suction is fine for the frog, but when I put a fish in there, it was over taken by the strength of the suction and the power of the water being filtered out. Not too bad overall.

This is a really great product. I bought a Red Sea Hydrometer/Thermometer before this one and it was absolutely terrible. The design of this hydrometer is very neatit actually floats upright in your aquarium, and gives a very accurate temperature and salinity reading. Highly recommended!

I've been in the reef aquarium hobby for around 6 years now. I purchased 3 of these in case I ended up breaking one. Not as fragile as some have suggested but it's glass so be careful. Works just fine...just be sure to calibrate it with a something of a known specific gravity to ensure you are measuring apples to apples. I'd buy again for the price.

New Life Spectrum Thera A Large Fish - 600 g

The fish eat it. I dont know if it is better then other food, but my angel fish and parrot fish attack the pellets with a vengeance.

I have been feeding my fish with these for a while now and the Thera-A is my favorite formula for staple feeding. I have been using the 1mm size for most of my fish (even though their small the fish find them easily enough), and was happy to see that they came out with a medium, large, and jumbo pellet for my larger fish. My fish relish these pellets and the fact that they have an extra ingredient allicin(more garlic!!)that helps with their immunity and fights parasites is a real bonus. I think it really helped when i started my clown loach colony, as it seems everytime I introduced a new clown loach they would ALL get ich again! That was when NLS was new and since feeding them the thera-a they never had problems with ich with newcomers, as well as no problems with wasting syndrome. NLS is one of if not the best fish food for all fish on the market today and contains some of the best ingredients. They do as they state, keep my fish happy and healthy. This formula has the perfect protein content to me not too high and not too low. Too high protein seems to shorten the lifespan of fish and too low seems to hurt their growth potential. The Thera-a is right in the middle in terms of protein compared to other formulas. I would recomend this product as well as any other product produced by NLS to anybody who really cares for their fish. It may cost a little more than cheaper brands but it is the best. Now they have to make a floating formula for the Thera-a so I can mix some floating with sinking for all my fish!

biOrb Ceramic Media

This aquarium filter medium from Reef One is designed for and sold with the BiOrb series of aquariums. It is a ceramic material covered with air pockets. The air pockets increase the surface on which can live nitrifying bacteria that process fish waste in aquarium water. Biorb aquariums are set up with a central air column that produces a current up the center of the spherical (or cylindrical) tank, down the sides, through the filter medium, through the charcoal/mechanical filter, and back up the central column. It works like an under-gravel filter. Ceramic medium is lighter than regular gravel, and a little sharper. The chunks are larger than regular aquarium gravel. Plants seem to anchor in it just fine, although I bought extra media both to increase the biological filtration and to increase the depth of anchoring material for plants. I am happy with it, although Amazon is not the cheapest place to get it.

Originally, they did not ship me the correct amount. However, when I called customer service, they immediately sent me the corrected amount of rocks.

Tetra Pond ClearChoice Biofilter PF1, Ponds up to 500 Gallons

This product arrived quickly and was exactly as presented. Only time will tell if it is as efficient as promised but I have every expectation and confidence in TetraPond. I have had a less well-made product for 9 years and this new Bio Filter is even more stury and well made. So I think it will be great.

I chose the Tetra ClearChoice Biofilter to replace the submersible bio filter in my small pond. I wanted to eliminate the chore of pulling up the submersible to clean the filters, a task I had to do more and more frequently as the fish became more active in the summer. The submersible pump/filter had quit running, and the pond was quite cloudy by the time I installed the ClearChoice. Within two hours after installing the ClearChoice the pond was clear and I could detect no suspended matter in the pond. I have not had to clear the filter media in three weeks, and in fact when I checked there was no sign of the sludge build up I always had to clean in the submersible filter. The installation was easy and the instructions on the proper maintenance were clear and straight forward. The pump is visible, but soon the vegetation around the pond will camouflage it pretty well. If there is any drawback it would be that the filter cannot be used in the colder winter months if there is a chance of freezing weather. This is a small trade off for having to clean my previous filter once a week or more in the summer. My expectations have been fully met. I like this product and would recommend it for any small pond.

This filter requires no more than a 550 gph pump, or it will leak and the Venturi will leak, possibly. That is what is going on with mine, but I have ordered a flow control valve to restrict the input, so that should be fixed soon. Also, the outlet is a 1-1/4 inch ID fit. My original set up was all 1 inch, so I had to buy some polyurethane hose at HD for 3.46/ft.! There was nothing that size in the small pond department. I suspect this dimension can't be reduced because it would cause a back pressure. Should eventually be an effective set-up.

I purchased this for a temporary setup for a 120gal tank with about five small koi in it. I primed the filter with Microbe-Lift PL1 and after about a week the water had cleared up, and the Ammonia and NO2 were reading 0

I shredded up some house sediment filter media as well just experimenting to get more surface and filtration.

Works pretty well but only gets 3 stars because what the don't tell you is your gonna need to use all 3 "single" use packets at once in order to completely submerge and clean your power heads or heaters....

My advice:

_Dissolve all 3 packets in a bucket with just 1 gallon of water.

_Completely submerge all equipment, let soak for about 4 hrs.

_Brush or wipe off any leftover gunk and Rinse well. Done.

EcoPlus 4 Air Pump, 4 Outlet

This pump is great for aeroponic and hydroponics! This pump runs three air stones I have for a deep water culture hydroponic operation! It works great with my ecoplus submersible pump! I like the convenience of having 4 air outlets with a knob that allows you to turn the air output to increase or decrease. My only complaint is that the difference between the increase and decrease is somewhat small (though not overall disappointing). Its pretty relatively cheap too! I've only had it for four days but I hope it will hold up for a long time! Recommend it if you're into hydro/aeroponics.

I was hoping to aerate 3 5 gallon buckets for a hydroponics project I'm working on. It adequately does just that. It has been on 24/7 for over a week now no complaints.

Cons:

You can't turn off the fourth valve so I just added it to a bucket

It's kind of noisy, can still hear it through a closed closet door

This pump works great. It puts out tons of air and is very quiet.

FYI, it does have 2 air outlets, so if you just need one outlet you will need to cap the second or run them both into a Y connector and then to your outlet.

This pump is the quietiest pump I have owned, you cant even hear that it is on it is so quiet, this is highly recommended if you are looking for a product that works great and is quiet.

So I still have this little guy and it's still running to this day! the total amount of air being pumped has decreased over time but it's still a lot and enough to power 2 small stones, and 2 large 4" stone at about 3/4th from full. Great buy for the price!

Well i have had the pump for a few weeks now and it's running like is said it should. Had an old pump that died after like 4 years of use so it was time to replace, looked around a lot and found this to be the best pump for the job.

We have a 50Gal tank with 4 air stones. so far it has been running from the day we got it no problems so far.

I feel the other reviews over exaggerated the power of this air pump. Yes, it worked just fine, but there was no amazing airflow like other people thought. Based on the reviews I thought I could split both exit holes.. but I ended up having to buy another pump and not splitting anything to get the power I needed.

U.P. Aqua Inline Co2 Atomizer System

This Co2 inline diffuser has no issues at all. The other customer's Co2 must have been leaking and not keeping pressure. I use a standard 5lb Catalina aluminum Co2 cylinder with an Aquatek of California regulator and NEVER experience any issue. It is running through an Eheim classic 2211. The outtake hose on this filter is too small so I have it installed at the very top of the intake as it comes out of the aquarium. By the time the intake reaches the canister filter the bubbles are completely dissolved and it does not make the canister run loud because there are no bubbles. If you run it on the outtake into the aquarium you will still see a mist or sometimes get bubbles in the tank. This never happens if you install it on the filter intake. It is just as good as a Co2 reactor, actually better because it doesn't reduce your flow like an inline Co2 reactor will and you don't have to have an extra pump like you do with hang-on-back Co2 reactors. I highly recommend this. And I am a professional aquascaper! It runs completely silent as well.

Required almost 80psi to even diffuse....not sure if that is the design, but simple aquarium CO2 systems do not need to run that high.

You will get readings that vary wildly from one reading to the other. MY LFS tested my water to be 1.025, while this hydrometer was showing 1.022 in one reading and 1.028 in another despite tapping the bubbles off the needle. You will want to buy a refractometer after you purchase this so save yourself the $10 and invest in a refractometer. Look around and you may be able to find a used one for $30 or so.

This product wore out in a month. Readings became inaccurate and hard to read, especially when the blue measurement markings wore off. It's a hydrometer, it is supposed to withstand exposure to salt water. I would not recommend this product. It is not useful, at any price.

Fluval Rubber Adapter for Ribbed Hosing, 304, 305, 404, 405 (2 Pieces)

I got an email from amazon asking me to review this item... To be fair, I did buy them through amazon and I do review a fair number of things that I buy through amazon... I'm just kind of at a loss for words when reviewing "rubber adapter for ribbed hosing"... I guess it comes down to fact that they worked. I have a fluval 304 and I wanted to reposition the hoses requiring me to cut off the hoses. My old rubber adapters just didn't look right. They had a lot of algae on them that I couldn't clean off and I was worried about developing a leak, so I ordered the new ones. I was initially a bit nervous... I found it hard to believe that just twisting the hose into the adapter would create a water tight seal, but it did. I had it up and running within a half hour of the package coming in, (I had to cut hose... etc.) and so far (knock on wood) no leaks. So, I gave 5 stars to the fluval rubber adapter for ribbed hosing because they did exactly what they were designed to do with a minimum of effort on my part. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

For those of you looking for black connectors to replace the white connectors that come with the new 06 series of Fluval filters, this is the right product.

I'm not sure whom at Fluval thought changing to the white connectors a good idea, but that person needs to be pistol whipped and fed castor oil.

Fluval hoses off the shelf have one permanently attached rubber connector at each end. The in-flow and out-flow connectors each have detachable rubber hose adaptors. Works great if all you want is to shorten your hoses and go straight from filter to in-flow/out-flow.

If, however, you are wanting to add something to your hose lines (such as an in-line UV), and you do not want hoses that are horrendously long, then these are the adaptors you need. They fit snuggly over the cut ends of the fluval hoses to make a nice tight seal.
