Fluval C2 Ammonia Remover - 3-Pack

I bought this for my Fluval Edge and although its a little "big" for the filter slot it works just fine.

After rinsing it, before replacing the old ammonia pack, I have to fold the extra mesh bag and then flatten it as much as I can so the rest can fit in the grey plastic filter holder the Edge comes with.

I would recommend and buy it again.

In addition to an array of aquariums ranging from 55 gallons and up we keep our Betta in an Aqueon 5 gallon Bow Front.

When the bulb went out, I headed to the local pet store to pick up a replacement no dice, they don't carry them.

Then to both Petco and Petsmart again no dice they don't carry these but both suggested to try Home depot.

So off to Home Depot they carry this size bulb but the lowest wattage is 25 which would throw off far to much heat. I bought one anyway to give poor "Gill" a little much needed light.

But in twenty minutes the temperature, as expected began to rise.

I don't know why I didn't check Amazon to begin with after all we buy virtually everything else here. In fact out of my 120 reviews I would guess 40% are devoted to dog and aquarium supplies go figure.

Sure enough, here they are on Amazon for a mere $3.99 plus with my Prime membership they were shipped via free two day shipping.

The bulbs arrived in perfect condition and are shipped carefully and fast, I purchased a few just to have replacements on hand and considering how difficult these are to find, you'll most likely want to do the same.

Elite Optima Diaphragm Set for Optima Aquarium Air Pump, 2-Pack

Product was exactly what my A805 air pump needed. Took about 5 minutes to install. Back in service in less then 10 minutes. Too bad the local stores don't seem to want to carry the diaphragms. Price was fair.

So, it did what it said it would do and made air pump out of the outlet holes again. I hate having to buy these, but I think all pump diaphragms break up after a while. They are easy to swap out and work great.

Elite Submersible Preset Heater, 50 Watt

I have three Elite heaters a 25 watt in my 2.5 gallon betta tank, and a 50 watt in both my 5and 10-gallon tanks. All three heaters have worked perfectly. It takes a little while to get them adjusted just right, but once you've got them set they keep the temperature perfectly steady. I live in Iowa, and nighttime temperatures here are below freezing right now, with one room not very well heated. The 50W Elite in my 10-gallon tank handles the fluctuations with no problem, and my bettas are healthy and happy. I definitely recommend this one!

We have been using this for at least 2.5 months, and no problems yest. Much cheaper than local pet store heaters, and works well. It also seems to be constructed well. We use our 50 watt one in a 10 gallon tank, and we normally keep the temperature at 79 degrees. I recommend a separate thermometer just to make sure it is functioning properly. If has a small orange light that indicates if it is heating. Only problem, and maybe its just the way we have it installed in our fish tank, but the suction cups do not like to secure it to the glass very well. Overall its worth your money.

This heater is great for a 10 gallon. The only thing I don't like so much is that it is a little tricky to adjust. Other than that, I recommend this for any tank 10 gallons or less.

This thing struggles when it gets cold to keep the temperature in my 15 gallon about 70. Temperature in my garage is about 45. Dont buy this for anything bigger than a 10.

The Hagen Elite heater was purchased partially based on a fair review from Amazon(4 stars with 9 reviews). I followed the instructions and set the heater at 79F. The final temperature was +88F and was recorded with two different thermometers. That is not acceptable and the product was returned. I will give the Hydor Theo a try. Sorry Hagen.

Coralife 01691 Power Center Dual Day Night Timer

Purchased in January. It is now April and one of the timers does not switch anymore. Even when you try the manual override. Verdict is out though as I have just tried to contact the store where I purchased to see about an exchange. But when it is working it is the best way to control the metal halides/actnic/and moonlights.

Does an excellent job running my lights and I don't have to remember to come back to turn on or off the lights. Takes away the need for multiple timers

The Aqualight certainly does what I need it to do. It has saved me from using separate timers for each plug and made things much neater for me. The only issue just now becoming a problem, is one of the timers is not clicking over to turn off my Actinic lights and switching over to the moon lights. But certainly a good buy.

Mighty Massive Rabbit Dog Toy, Brown

The manufacturer brags about how the product is made. Oh the attention they pay to the construction of the seams. How they protect them. I gave the toy to my German Shorthair Pointer. One head shake of the toy and stuffing was showing Upon inspection, the seam attaching a front leg to the body had already failed. It is a simple single stitched seam. Wow, what ordinary construction. What a weak seam. And on top of that upon further inspection the thread did not really break. The seam failed due to poor workmanship. These are dog toys intended for larger dogs, I suggest the manufacturer actually watch a variety of dogs play with them. This is not rocket science.

Bought the pig Mighty Massive Piglet Dog Toy and a rabbit from a local Costco for my two destructive chewers. My Pug and Pomeranian usually destroys most toys within a day or two due to their tug of war and sharp teeth. These have no tears or rips into the material anywhere so far.

Pros

Very solidly made. Stitching feels reinforced like advertised to withstand their tugging

Except for the ears most parts are sewn into the main animal so it will be less likely to be ripped off in sections.

Fur on fabric is a good material that it doesn't come off when rubbed or scratched like some other toys.

Cons

Heavy hard for them to carry far (might be better for larger dogs with bigger mouths)

Squeaker is at an awkward place so humans and dogs have a hard time getting it to squeak.

I would not buy if paying amazon pricing, but at the deal found at costco it would be better than any other toy from the pet shop for that same price.

This is a good deal. There is enough food to last six months to a year. It turns out that Flash won't eat pellet food, but my friend's Betta loves it. It is made of excellent ingredients and it stays on the surface a long time. If left in his tank it fouls the water. If your fish likes pellets this is great stuff and the pellets are small enough for most Bettas. All this being said at this price it is a bargain.

Tetra White Scale Remover for Fountains, 8-Ounce

I had the start of some white scale buildup on my outside fountain and bought this product believing it would clean it off. I followed directions but it didnt do a thing to the newly formed scale. i went through the whole bottle in short order with no results. I switched to vinegar and it worked. Vinegar is only 88 cents a bottle.

I chose the I don't like it rating because it did not solve my white scaling problem. I used it

I purchased your model WD-125CS from Drs. Foster and Smith. I'm returning it as soon as possible. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with your product. For the money I spent, I would expect clear, illustrated installation instructions. The deal breaker for me was when "the long vinyl screw" would not even fit into the hole at the bottom of the "clear overflow box" to make it parallel to the tank to which it was attached. The screw would go about half through before seizing up and stopping.

You can't even match up the size of a vinyl screw with the hole drilled in acrylic for it? I'll never buy another one of your products ever again. The only good thing about this experience with your product is that Drs. Foster and Smith will allow me to return it cost-free.

Tetra Vacation Gel Feeder Block 14 days, 1.06 Ounces

The first (AND LAST!) time I tried this was on a 9 day vacation. Since I hadn't used this particular type before I had a family member who lives next door keep tabs on the fish every day that I was gone and feed them as needed. Good thing because my fish did not like this stuff at all.

I researched reviews further and found that a lot of people had the same results.

Note: I read the instructions carefully and did in fact remove the food block (more like a puck) from the tin-like tray.

On my previous vacation, if I recall correctly, I used the feeder pyramids from API. Those worked great.

TIP:

Before using any type of vacation feeders, test them out prior to needing them to ensure your fish will be okay. Or have a trusted friend or relative check on your fish to make sure they're doing okay.

I tried two of these gel feeders in two different tanks when I was gone for a week. When I returned both feeders were untouched. The fish survived but I won't try these again. I'm going back to conventional feeder blocks.

Other Tetra products have worked well for me.

In all seriousness, don't use this product. My tropical fish starved themselves to death rather than eat a bite of this nasty-textured gel feeder. I've used the white ones that look like shells and starfish with no problems, so I'm extremely disappointed in this one, and the fish even more so.

I've been feeding our guppies with this stuff full-time for about 2 years now -they've been living on it exclusively. There's always a block in the tank; a new one goes in every few weeks. We've seen absolutely no sign of any clouding, rotting, starving, degradation, smell, or any of the other symptoms described in these negative reviews. The fish peck at the block when they're hungry, and the rest of the time it just sits there. I have to question who is writing these bad reviews -other fish food makers?

The only other explanation I can think of for the bad reviews is just plain poorly-maintained tanks which can't survive being unattended while the owners go on vacation. Most of the symptoms here sound like simple cases of poor filtration, no temperature control, no testing of the water quality, overcrowding, or simply overfeeding. People, learn how to maintain your tanks. If you don't have and use a test kit that can show you ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and PH levels, if you don't have good biological filtration, and if you don't have a heater or thermometer in the tank, then you are most likely torturing your fish.

When I received this and was unwrapping it I kept wondering why the tape holding the bowls to the frame was covered in dirt. As I got further into undoing the packaging I realized it wasn't dirt; it was the black paint from the frame! This had obviously been sitting somewhere for a very long time--the tape holding the bowls on was impossible to get off the bowls and it had lifted the paint from the frame to reveal heavy rusting. Every joint of the frame was chipping, showing rust underneath. This is the first time I've purchased something from Amazon that was of poor quality, and I honestly couldn't believe someone thought it was anything but fraudulent to sell this old and falling apart item. Very disappointed.

The only bad thing i had with it is that it is a little off balance, but so is my floors! It is super stylish and my cats drink from it along with the dog. haha

Took a while longer than expected to arrive. The black holder has paint chips and what looks like rust or corrosion resulting in black flaking paint chips. I will just fix myself rather than deal with taking back as I had to drive out of town to pick it up. The entire unit is smaller than I thought, which is ok but just expected slightly larger. The bowls are great and there was a sticker saying rust and stain resistant so that's the main point. It wasn't too bad of a purchase, the structure itself is in tact so evertyhing else is cosmetic.

I was pleased to find replacement bulbs for my Fluval Edge aquarium. They proved easy to replace pretty straight-forward. I do wish that there was better water protection for the bulbs built into the aquarium design as that's what caused one of my bulbs to die before its time. Very happy with these replacement bulbs.

Works perfectly in my fluval edge. I found out that I really didn't need to replace the bulb however because the protective covering where the bulb plugs in had fallen off so when I pluged the bulb in I plugged it into the wrong place and that was what caused it not to work. So now I have extra for later but they work great.

The ingredients are quality and they really do nourish the fish WELL. After a few days/weeks you will SEE the color and tails of goldfish looking so healthy!

BUT the flakes are sooo brittle, as soon as you touch then they turn into ash! If they didn't nourish the fish as well as they do I would switch. But my goldfish RUSH for flakes... they love it.

TIP: Use a turkey baster and soak for about 1 2 mins inside the baster then let them fall out the baster into the water 3 or more inches for the surface.
