Snoozer-Luxury Lookout Ii Dog Car Seat - Small/Anthracite
The small drawer at the bottom of the seat is very handy to store a leash, toys and cookies. I bought the chocolate color ultra suede to match the interior of a new Avalon Hybrid we have on order. I am confident my friend will find it just as enjoyable in the car as in the truck. This is a very nice, high quality product.I have tried many different car seats for my dog. For one dog in particular, none of them worked very well. They were all too flimsy and allowed the dog to move around too much (she's a very active little terrier), which could mean she would get hurt more easily in a car accident. I have wanted one of these Snoozer car seats for a long time and when I saw it on Amazon for only about $50, I jumped on it. It turned out to be perfect for the dog I had in mind. I really want another one, because I think that all of my dogs would like it, but I am not willing to spend the money now that the price has gone back up. I even think that $50 was quite a bit to pay for a doggie car seat, but now that I have the it, I am really glad that I spent the money on it. I will buy another one in a heartbeat if I find one on sale again.

Fluval C2 Ammonia Remover - 3-Pack
After rinsing it, before replacing the old ammonia pack, I have to fold the extra mesh bag and then flatten it as much as I can so the rest can fit in the grey plastic filter holder the Edge comes with.
I would recommend and buy it again.

Zoo Med Spirulina 20 Flake Fish Food
Unlike so many imports from China Zoo Med foods are free of filler, sub par ingredients and what is most important free of Ethoxyquin. Ethoxyquin is a toxic pesticide often touted as a preservative It's long been banned from dog and cat foods however due to poor regulation lower end foods continue to use it.
Studies have proven that Ethoxyquin even in trace amounts is especially lethal to fish. Studies that support this can be confirmed by simply looking ethoxyquin up on Wikipedia and follow the links to the findings.
Regarding Spirulina 20 this is an outstanding, naturally color enhancing food. Packed with protein at 45% this food is perfect for fish ranging from African Cichlids to Fancy Ornamental Goldfish both of which I keep in a never ending accumulation of fish tanks.
Spirulina is a plant based plankton often referred to as "the perfect food" it's packed with protein, vitamins A1, B1,B2,B6,B12 and vitamins C and E. In addition Spirulina is rich in eight essential fatty amino acids it's a wonderfully healthy food.
The flakes are huge which makes feeding a breeze I have a huge Red Devil Cichlid who goes crazy when he sees the jar. My Ornamental goldfish and other Cichlids are equally crazy for it.
Perfect for salt, fresh and brackish water fish Spirulina 20 is an absolutely wonderful food which will enhance both the color and health of most any fish you keep.Spiriulina is great to keep certain fish healthy and all of fish eats this diet which is great for their health. I mix it with blood worms, regular diet, brine shrimps.

I've been doing freshwater and saltwater tank for almost 7 years and I've been using this product for about 2 years. I didn't realize how good this product was until I started using it. I love this product because my fish seems to be doing great and they would go crazy every time I feed them this food.Just like what it says on the container, it promotes good health and brings out the color of the fish really well. Plus it's high in protein so that's a plus.
I recommend this product to all aquatic hobbyist. Price is reasonable and excellent food for the fishes.

Bought this for my freshwater guppies, and they love this food!! They see the big blue can and come to the surface to be fed. My inverts love it as well.Want Zoo Med Spirulina 20 Flake Fish Food Discount?
This video shows two of my red freshwater ramshorn snails gobbling down a large Spirulina 20 flake. They're on the surface floating on their backs.
Of all the various aquarium foods I've tried, these are by far to me the best flakes of all. All my fish like them, and they're like catnip to the inverts. The practical side of this is that if you feed these flakes to your fish and some of the flakes reach the bottom where the fish can't find them or don't feed, your inverts (if you have any) should quickly eat up the extra. No waste!
These are especially helpful for my baby ramshorn snails and my pond (pouch) snails. The pond snails are technically an infestation that I didn't ask for, but they're so cool to watch (and impossible to eradicate) that I decided to keep them around.
I've just gotten to the bottom of the four ounce can I ordered...er...when? I suppose if I can't remember when I ordered it I should by a new supply. The funny thing is that it has taken at least six months to use up the four ounce can even after giving half to someone who raises and breeds snails. A few ounces of these flakes go a long way.

Microbe-Lift NiteOutII for Home Aquariums
I read some other reviews here, stating that the water clouds up, I didn't ever have this problem. The solution itself is completely clear and odorless.I have been using the M-L NiteOutII for 2 months now. My fish are doing great. They look healthy and happy. Now, I always wonder whether the results would have been the same with a natural tank cycling without adding nitrifying bacteria from a bottle. All I can say is that I have no complaints about the M-L NiteOutII. My fish are doing just fine.

I wrote this review also under Nite Out II's sister product, Special Blend, and am copying it here because the 2 products go hand in hand.My buddy Bubba died. Bubba was a 13 inch King Kong Red Parrot Cichlid that was like a dog in a tank. When he died, I didn't wanted another fish right away so my tank sat empty for well over a year and was an eyesore. I finally decided to set the tank back up, but I was not in the mood to wait a month to achieve a good cycle with some silly goldfish or something. I went to my favorite aquarium shop and asked them what I could use to obtain a fast cycle...and NO I don't want that CYCLE stuff they sell at Petco. Without hesitation, the freshwater guru reached behind the counter and gave me 2 things. He gave me Special Blend and he gave me Nite Out II by the same company. (I posted a link for Special Blend below) He said they need to be used in conjunction to achieve a full cycle, and the dosing instructions are very clear on the bottle. He stressed that you MUST SHAKE THEM. This is basically a bottle of bacteria which tends to settle on the bottom of the bottle. No shake, no results. Read, read, read the bottle. It tells you to shake, tells you to keep the lights off for about 72 hours so that the light does not interfre with the bacteria's life cycle before they can establish and it tells you to use the Special Blnd on certain days and the Nite Out every other day. OH...and hold your nose. The rotten egg stink on the Special Blend will make your hair stand on end, but goes away quickly. Nite Out II is odorless. Anyway....within 2 weeks I had a gorgeous cycle. Ammonia, zero. Nitrites, zero. Nitrates, acceptable. Water, clear. I adore this stuff. I use it after gravel cleaning, water changes or filter media swaps and the beneficial bacteria seems to be healthy and active in doing their job. I did a little research on this company because I had never heard of them before, but it seems they have been in the pond industry for quite some time and just recently broke into the home aquarium market. And they mean business. They are not fooling around. I don't think I have ever seen a cycle occur so quickly.

I decided to try a soil substrate in my previously cycled tank and the ammonia shot up to the point that I had to do 2-3 water changes every day just to keep the ammonia under 1ppm. Even then, hours later, it would be climbing again. Apparently the gravel I topped the soil with was not a fine enough grain to seal the soil in well enough to slow down the ammonia from reaching the water column. I put sand on top of the gravel and started adding this product to my tank. Without any water changes, my ammonia dropped to .50 and stayed there. I couldn't believe it! For the first time in 2 weeks I went a whole day whitout a water change. I added another capful on day 2 and my ammonia dropped to .25. I did a 20% water change and now my ammonia is almost at 0. The sand helped, but the Microb-lift is what really stabilized my water. This stuff is the real deal!My tank was at 0,5,20 with a pH of 7.8. I did a 25% pwc and then used this product (double dose) and one day later my water tests 0.25,5,5. I wasn't looking to reduce NO3 and the bottle says it oxidizes NH3 and NO2 anyway. My bottle is black, not white (not that it matters but the directions could be different on different bottles?) and does NOT tell me to shake or to avoid light. I shook anyway for the second and finally the third dose because I figured since it had different bacteria in it I should homogenize. Still crazy high NO2. It also lowered my pH to 7.4. I'm ordering the API NitraZorb pouches and hope to get better results.Thursday, December 26, 2013

Its a good hood but it is annoying how there is not an opening for the cables to come out the top. It causes the hood to not fit evenly.I searched every pet web site I could find to search for a hood to fit my 44 gallon tank. This was the closest to the measuremants of mine, so I ordered it to give it a try and it fits great. Everything is a perfect fit except the width but that didnt matter because I didnt have to cut out the back inserts for the filter to fit.Saturday, October 19, 2013
Hydrofarm AAPA45L 20-Watt 45-LPM Active Aqua Commercial Air Pump with
The first thing I noticed is that it is smaller that I was especting, good! Later I started measuring air output and obtained 4 points, with all closed outputs I obtained a maximum pressure of 115 mmHg, at 9 liters per minute I measured 70 mmHg, with 12.2 liters per minute I found 60 mmHg and as last point at 14.8 liters per minute I had 50 mmHg, once I put these 4 points in a chart I get a nice straight line that intercepts 26 liters per minute at zero pressure, so of 45 liters per minute announced I only get a measured 26.
I put it to work and replaced 6 small pumps, with about 16 outputs (filters without stone) that left me with 55 mmHg working pressure and 13.5 liters per minute as my chart indicates.
I hope that it would last more than a year, I did not find this pump very noisy but it is noisier than any of the small air pumps it replaced.
As rule of thumb I found that liters of air per minute that can obtain by any air pump it is more or less half of announced in specifications.
As reference 100 mmHg are about 53 1/2 inches of water.

After going through so many pumps for my tank, I saw this at amazon at a good price and decided to try it. The item is a GREAT pump, solid, heavy, complete. Rubber feet, connectors, everything you need. The only problem I have is my tank is in my living room and the noise from this pump is just too much for me. I am looking into running it behind a small wall, running the tube through, but haven't tried that yet. Oh, and this is a LOT of air. I just have two long stones under the gravel and this is way much air. You probably have to use three or 4 of the outlets (at least) to reduce the air flow rate to something usable.Want Hydrofarm AAPA45L 20-Watt 45-LPM Active Aqua Commercial Air Pump with Discount?
I received this Air pump in a timely fashion, well packaged and intact. The pump certainly puts out the rated air, however, it is "Noisy" to a fault.
I've tried the Princess and a pea solution, with inserting multiple padding underneath as a vibration mount, and still the drone of the pump is inescapable. I value my neighbors peace of mind, and the last thing they need is to hear the 24/7 drone of this pump, if I can hear it from inside my home, so can they.
I'll have to build a sound box to contain the noise that will allow for cooling and enough air to supply the pump.
Would have been wiser to just purchase a more expensive, but "proven" quieter pump.
So if noise is not an issue, this pump is a deal.....
However, If noise is an issue, spend your money elsewhere.

biOrb & biUbe Aquarium Stand, 14" W X 27" H
One important note however, the photo used doesn't accurately portray what you'll receive.
The upright column is actually a matte gray more akin to PVC than the polished chrome you see in the photo.
The back of the stand is actually composed of two flat black boards, not a solid piece as depicted above. As a result the chords coming down from your tank will be dangling visibly taking away from the slick presentation you're hoping for.
That said, it's still a nice little stand.I paid for functionality, storage, and appearance; I received none of these. Like the 2011 review, what I received is not what is pictured or described. The stand they sent doesn't match that reviewer's description no gray or chrome all black. There is no storage space. The unit is just three planks (only 23" tall instead of the 27 advertised) made of sturdy wood (or maybe wood-like). These assemble in an H formation. There are also two disks to put top and bottom. The disks are not 14" in diameter as specified, but 13.75" and with the beveling there's less than 13" diameter of usable space. It's wobbles easily on carpet, tile, linoleum and hardwood. I will not risk using it for my Hex5 tank which had been it's intended purpose. I might consider putting a one-gallon aquarium on it if I didn't have pets, kids, or anyone who might accidentally brush against it and send my betta to an untimely demise. Good points: it arrived promptly, was easily assembled, is black and round, works well with my decor, and should hopefully support a glass or two, so I can at least use it as an end table. In hindsight that's too much to pay for a cup holder.

TOM TM1290 Aquarium Maintenance Easy Scrape-hand held algae scraper
My only complaint is that I don't think the blade is perfectly straight, so I have to go over areas more than once. It's a minor flaw though.
I have a glass tank so I can't speak for the effectiveness of the acrylic scraper attachment.

Bought this to use on glass aquariums. Does not remove algae cleanly. Leaves streaks as though the blade (metal) is not completely flat. Better and faster to use a single edged razor blade and get my arm wet than to use this scraper. Would not buy again!Read Best Reviews of TOM TM1290 Aquarium Maintenance Easy Scrape-hand held algae scraper Here
The blade is not sharp enough to remove much algae. Don't waste your money. I used to have a thin, long handled scraper with a single edge razor blade attached. That was great. They don't seem to make them anymore. I recently bought a long handled scraper but it has this same useless blade. I can't believe I've wasted my money on these items that don't serve their purpose.Want TOM TM1290 Aquarium Maintenance Easy Scrape-hand held algae scraper Discount?

We've been running an Eheim 2222-37 as the sole filter for a 60 gallon planted tank for approximately 6 years. It is SILENT, easy to service, leak free, and trouble free.
It's a little under-powered for a 60 gallon tank but still keeps the aquarium very clear.
Fantastic build quality and value.

I installed this in my 50 gallon community aquarium after I finally got sick of trying to figure out why my Fluval 405 leaked every time I cleaned it. The Eheim was quick and easy to set up and runs silently. The aquarium, one month later seems clean and the fish and plants are thriving. I do think that this filter is a bit underpowered for this size aquarium, but mine is a bit underpopulated so I'm not worried.Want Eheim Aquarium AEH2222370 Canister Filter Pro 2222-37 With Media Discount?

36" Power Compact Fluorescent Fish Tank Aquarium Light
The finish if extremely fragile and will scratch off at the slightest pressure from something hard.
Beside that the unit is very beautiful and the support foot are easy to install and adjust. It does the job but if I want to use the actinic only in the evening I have to unplug the white lamp manualy! this is a pain so I just shut off the unit and forget about using actinic only until I buy another fixture that has 2 separated switch.I thought it seemed like a good item. with in 90 days, the unit is not functioning properly and sounds as if it has a short in the light and the bulb continues to flicker. it sounds as if it could burn at any time. do not recomend. they only offer 30 day return on the item.

OK, may not be a high end lighting fixture but it is hard to find inexpensive compact flourescent lights for my aquarium. I have a bunch of 55W CF bulbs with flat pins so definitely wanted another when my All-Glass striplight was accidently destroyed. This one fit the bill. Too bad it didn't come with two daylight bulbs. I use this without the included plastic splash shield and with the included plastic feet. It works fine although both bulbs are in the center--I prefer the staggered setup like with the All-Glass striplight.Read Best Reviews of 36" Power Compact Fluorescent Fish Tank Aquarium Light Here
