I found this to be a great hospital tank! there will be medication adjustments due to the size and may be a bit of a guessing game at times. but this makes the daily water changes that are required of a medicating bowl easy.

Seriously though, way too small for any fish or living thing (in my opinion)

placing two male betta's in this where they can always see each other in such a confined space will lead to constant flaring and they will always be stressed. they will hit the walls and injure themselves. what a stupid idea.

I wrote a similar review and decided to just copy and paste my original story to save time...

Being the novice I was, when I was about 12 I "rescued" 2 bettas from a Pets Mart and put them both into separate, cheap, tiny little novelty tanks, and that's how they lived for about a year and a half until I bought my third one and put him into a 5 gallon tank. I instantly noticed the difference!

My 3rd Betta was flying all over the place, he was noticeably happier, responded faster (in a non-aggressive way) when I'd come near the tank, and he lived for a little more than 3 and a half years! My other two barely made it to 2 years. They were depressed, uninterested, slow to respond...everything you don't want your Betta to be. And once I moved them into larger 3 gallon tanks each, they perked up like none other!

Betta's need to be in 3-10 gallon tanks by themselves (5 or larger and you might be able to add compatible fish, though I wasn't willing to risk it). In the wild, they live in rice paddies which are thousands of gallons of swimming space and naturally aerated and filtered, and only live in "small puddles" for about 2 or 3 months (at most) out of the year during the dry season.

What's more, while Wild bettas may be able to take smaller conditions longer and survive better, the fancy bettas we see in the stores today are not nearly as durable or hardy and need more stimulation and space.

This "tank" has no filtration, has little space for the Betta, and isn't much better than the initial cup they come in.

I originally bought this tank for my two CT males, Nico and Zazu, but it quickly became a pain. They could both see each other all the time and were always stressing each other out. Before I had funds available for a new tank for them it came down to "modifying" (essentially cutting up) the black plastic from a CD case to insert into one of the partitions to keep them from seeing each other.

After I moved them to a different tank with a solid partition, I purchased a female CT who just loves it. She's small enough that she has plenty of room to swim around. I also have some tall grass in the tank which was made to fit by simply looping it throughout the tank and it's become a great little habitat for her.

The tank is incredibly easy to clean and I don't have to worry about the lid falling off without warning.

Recommended for 1 fish without the partition, but not for two.

ALSO! Make sure to remove the fake plants. They will easily shear any fish' fins.

I bought this car seat in anticipation of making several long road trips this fall. I wanted something comfortable and safe for my dear dog Benny, a 3-year old miniature poodle.

Hubby and I took Benny out for several one-hour trial runs over the past few weekends and Benny seems to love this seat. First of all, it boosts him up high enough so that he can comfortably look out the window (while still being safely tethered to the seat). Second, having ordered the larger model, he can stretch out and sit or sleep without being cramped. Be warned this model is BIG. I have it in the back seat (2nd row) of my SUV and it takes up half the seat. Instead of room for 3 people, there's now room for only 1. No bother. He's my only "kid".

This is my second purchase of this item and I have to say it is one of the best purchases I've ever made!! We've been using this seat in both of our cars for years and hands down the quality is excellent! The height is just right for a car or SUV, the drawer is nice for stowing potty bags, baby wipes, extra leashes,etcthere is a lot of room in the drawer. This seat will sit two small dogs just fine. The design of the seat to allow for the car seat to be belted in with the seatbelt on the vehicle is fantastic! It's obvious that serious thought went into designing that safety feature. In those moments when you have to suddenly apply your brakes, the car seat WILL stay in place if your car seatbelt is used properly to secure it in place. If you don't use your seatbelt it won't. It's no different than fastening a child car seat. It's just a matter of common sense to belt the product in. I have two small dogs who often travel with me in the car and who have a tendency to not sit still during the entire trip. I had previously had a dog car seat that resembled a plastic tub with foam inside and a cover on top of it. It worked for a short period of time, but due to the design of it and my dogs moving around, it always tipped over. Fluval Disposable CO2 Cartridge (3.1 oz.)

A few years back I purchased a Fluval CO2 88 gram system

on sale. The entire setup was only about $36 (it usually retails for twice that).

I really liked how convenient it was, and it did a great job enhancing the growth of my plants.

However, the replacement cartridges can range from about $12 each in a three pack ($36 total) to more than $20 a piece. I used to get about a month out of single CO2 88 cartridge when using 3 bubbles per second and turning this CO2 system off at night.

So when I began setting up additional aquariums this system became impractical.

I decided to purchase a larger pressurized CO2 system which I used on one of my aquariums for about a year, while attempting to find a DIY CO2 system that actually worked well in daily use, and at an affordable price.

I tried several combinations and finally found that the quality of the yeast can make the difference between a few days of CO2 production to several weeks.

I now use SAF instant yeast exclusively, since it is far superior to the store bought packets of yeast which can cost as much as $3.50 an ounce. I pay about .23 an ounce for the SAF yeast.

The recipe I am using presently gives about three weeks of consistent CO2 production before the bubble count begins to decrease significantly.

Two cups of granulated sugar mixed with one teaspoon of SAF instant yeast, in a 2 liter bottle filled 3/4's of the way with warm water, is the best concoction that I have used to this point.

I have used the same recipe with Fleishmann's yeast, yet only got a week out of it before the bubble count dropped significantly.

When my plants pearl oxygen bubbles I know that the water column has been saturated with oxygen, and my DIY CO2 system is working optimally. When the plants stop pearling O2 bubbles, that is when I know it's time to recharge the CO2 generator.

I purchase the sugar and yeast in bulk and for four planted aquariums the annual cost is about $50. This as opposed to between $450 and $1000 a year for four Fluval CO2 88 canisters each month.

I have seen these canisters selling for as little as $12 each to as much as $21 each. This, like the many different mini C02 systems from companies such as ADA, ISTA and GLA, are convenient to use but very expensive in relation to a larger pressurized system, which utilizes a CO2 tank ranging in size from about 5 to 20 Lbs.

If you only have one planted tank it's not that much of an issue. However, if you're using injected CO2 on several aquariums, a well setup DIY system can save you a small fortune each year.

There's also the safety issue to consider.

DIY CO2 is by the fermentation process, so it's safe to use in your home, as opposed to using a pressurized CO2 tank which could leak or even explode.

Quick shipping, not the best packaging. Everything arrived in good condition though. I use these cartridges for my 36G planted tank (with the bubble counter and diffuser also supplied by Fluval) and it does a great job. The bubbles come out super tiny, I run my cartridges for about 12 hours a day and they last me a couple of months each.

The suction cup works well and the light is bright (Extremely powerful).The blue is a very nice blue, and much lighter than the night lights that are sometimes included on Metal halide lamps as night lights. One thing I would have added is a black piece of plastic to somewhat shield part of the light. The plug isn't one of those gigantic plugs either, although it isn't a standard plug. I can fit a standard plug next to the slot in the power strip. Looking back, I wish I would have chose the multicolored one H2Show LED Light ColorMix Multicolor though because 2 different colored lamps may be too bright at night, but I have mine in a 24 gallon nano cube, so take that into consideration. BTW, don't get the older model if you do get these. I've had the older models with bubbles, etc. Get the H2 Show model only. They have improved their product since then, and the older models with bubbles require you to have the included airline hang out on top of the tank, and the older models just aren't as bright and the blue just isn't as nice.

The H2Show Led Light Blue produces a strong focused light. I originally purchased this as a moonlight to illuminate a 2.5 gallon pico, but the light was too focused and produced a single bright spot. Since that didn't work, I decided to use it as a moonlight for my 20 gallon high tank. I mounted the light about 14 inches above my tank. The extra distance from my tank allowed the light to spread out and illuminate about half my tank. Even at that distance, the light is bright and brings out the fluorescence in my corals. I'm getting a second light to cover the other half of the tank.

I docked it one star, because the light isn't very adjustable. Since the light is a spotlight, the light shoots straight out from the unit. If it's mounted on the side of the tank, it's difficult to point the light to the center of the tank. Although you can get some slight angles, the light is more or less perpendicular to the base. In the case of my 2.5 gallon, I mounted on the upper left corner of the tank, and I could only get the spotlight on the lower right corner of the tank.

All in all, I'm happy with the purchase, although I do wish I was more aware of the limitations before I got it.

Medicated Food For Aquarium Fish - 14 Oz

As is common with loaches, my 10 baby clown loaches started showing signs of internal parasites several weeks after I purchased them. I was directed toward this food by an excellent local aquarium store, but they were only able to give me a sample, as it has apparently been discontinued.

Use the feeding schedule on the package, but for best results mash the food into a powder and mix it with small amounts of other foods that your fish are already accustomed to, and shut off all filtration before adding the food mix to the tank and for a while after feeding (1/2 hour is usually sufficient).

This item works fine an no problems at all. It is larger than I think most people will expect. That and the fact of the bright yellow color makes it a little unsightly. I use them in my fry tanks and shrimp hatcheries in the garage so I really don't care. I'm not sure about the Heater. It failed in 4 months. But it was under warranty and I returned it and got a new one back in about a week.

We'll see how long the new one lasts.

The description is a bit misleading because it sounds like you can set a temperature of 80F, and this unit will keep your tank in the 78-82 range. But this is just a heater with a rheostat, so it only pushes out heat, and does not measure the environment it is in. So if if the heat goes out in your house, the tank temperature will go down in tandem with the environmental temperature this unit will not crank up to compensate. I do not think it is a deficiency, since that's what you'd expect in this price range, but it can be misleading to someone putting together their first tank.

That minor complaint aside, the unit has been performing admirably. My previous heater was a 300W, this allows much faster correction of my 120G tank and 30G sump. Note that it comes with suction cups to hold onto the side of the tank, and those NEVER hold indefinitely. I would recommend building your own hanger system.

Bottom line this is a good general choice.

Is a powerful heater, but like others have said, have to have mine set all the way up. Have it on a saltwater controller, and it still shuts down before keeping the water at 79 plus degrees. Not dependable, especially if you intend to use it on it's own. I'm going to remove/by-pass the thermostat and just let my Apex controller run it.

My son has a 2.5 gallon tank divided for three beta fish. We purchased this ship to fit a piece in each end and hooked them up with air tubes. They are cute. The fit is tight but I measured before I ordered and it fits...barely. I was able to hook up the air and after getting the tilt just so, able to get the bubbles just like I wanted. One drawback that had nothing to do with limited space...too light! The one end I had to bury in the rocks to get it to stay down and needless to say, every time the tank gets cleaned, it is floating, and mama has to get in there and get it back down. The other end would not stay down at all, so I hunted through the house for something nontoxic that would fit in there and weight it down and came up with a small onyx elephant I put in first followed by an onyx turtle I picked up years ago when I was in to buying onyx critters every time I went somewhere. Actually, it kind a looks like a sea turtle hiding in the ship and you don't see the elephant at all. So, it is cute, it works, but be prepared to take a deep breath before you patiently struggle to get the tube and the ship properly weighted, positioned, etc. so it doesn't keep popping up...and then redoing it every time you clean the tank.

smaller then i invisions, but worked great for what i wanted it for. its fully split if you want to have just have in your tank or a half on each side. very versital

There are plenty of complainers who seem to spend more because of selfmade problems to fix and I can only laugh at them. Flat out I have not read about anything that works better or lasts longer than epoxy putties. I had no need to look for anything better than epoxy putties! I used all colors Instant ocean Holdfast white, Oceanswonders purple coralline, Two little fishies stone grey and Coralline red and they all work the same so I was able to mix them for custom colors and or unique tints. My technique is simple I prepared the areas for epoxy bond by roughing up and drilling the bond surfaces for maximum grabification. The rest was simple one application and I dont think I ever had to bond anything twice. I am glad I am possibly the only one to leave a 5 star rating knowing I used the right products for my high end decor set up to acheive the most professional look and nothing McKey moused or McGyvered so it will last for many years unchanged. I built a professional show quality FOWLR aquarium with a 100% artificial reef and the decor is completely made using Natures image coral and Red sea deco art all custom displayed on custom made Alterra grey rocks I covered with coralline colors for then marine rock effect. Best of all knowing my entire decor has 0 impact on any ocean reef and is 100% eco friendly makes for great conversation and pride. The live rock and aragonite crystal white sand are cultured and all my fish are tank raised by USA breeders. The wonderful smell of farting out roses is not only bliss but also saves alot of money! The epoxy putties have the most god aweful stanky odor when you start but after it fully cures it is completely odorless and proven fish safe cured or not. Oh and dont forget to use gloves because it can irritate skin.

It warned me on the package to turn off my skimmer because of excessive bubbles. They weren't kidding, even water in my filter sock was bubbling out. You don't see bubbles in the tank. Not a bad thing in that I can live with the protein skimmer turned off for 30 hours but just be aware of it. But you don't have much choice if you need to epoxy your frag plugs into your live rock. I ordered the grey because that was the only color avaialbe for Amazon's Prime (free shipping). Much cheaper than local fish store.

These are useless to hold corals in place but do have some value in gluing rocks together. However, you have to use a lot to get the rocks to stay put. The same stuff can be bought at the hardware store for less than 1/2 the cost. Super glue gel is a much better option for attaching corals and frag plugs.

Microbe-Lift NiteOutII for Home Aquariums

I'm generally having problem with my tanks being dirty due to the set ups I choose. I've tried a number of filter innoculants and comparable products, but never had anything work as fast as NiteOut II. This thing truly cycles your tank, my NO2 levels have dropped from >5ppm to 0 in 2 days. You don't have to smear it on the media, or marinade the media in it; just throw it in the tank, and that's that.

I read some other reviews here, stating that the water clouds up, I didn't ever have this problem. The solution itself is completely clear and odorless.

My buddy Bubba died. Bubba was a 13 inch King Kong Red Parrot Cichlid that was like a dog in a tank. When he died, I didn't wanted another fish right away so my tank sat empty for well over a year and was an eyesore. (I posted a link for Special Blend below) He said they need to be used in conjunction to achieve a full cycle, and the dosing instructions are very clear on the bottle. He stressed that you MUST SHAKE THEM. This is basically a bottle of bacteria which tends to settle on the bottom of the bottle. No shake, no results. Read, read, read the bottle. It tells you to shake, tells you to keep the lights off for about 72 hours so that the light does not interfre with the bacteria's life cycle before they can establish and it tells you to use the Special Blnd on certain days and the Nite Out every other day. OH...and hold your nose. The rotten egg stink on the Special Blend will make your hair stand on end, but goes away quickly. Nite Out II is odorless. Anyway....within 2 weeks I had a gorgeous cycle. Ammonia, zero. Nitrites, zero. Nitrates, acceptable. Water, clear. I adore this stuff. I use it after gravel cleaning, water changes or filter media swaps and the beneficial bacteria seems to be healthy and active in doing their job. I did a little research on this company because I had never heard of them before, but it seems they have been in the pond industry for quite some time and just recently broke into the home aquarium market. And they mean business. They are not fooling around. I don't think I have ever seen a cycle occur so quickly.

I decided to try a soil substrate in my previously cycled tank and the ammonia shot up to the point that I had to do 2-3 water changes every day just to keep the ammonia under 1ppm. Even then, hours later, it would be climbing again. Apparently the gravel I topped the soil with was not a fine enough grain to seal the soil in well enough to slow down the ammonia from reaching the water column. I put sand on top of the gravel and started adding this product to my tank. Without any water changes, my ammonia dropped to .50 and stayed there. I couldn't believe it! For the first time in 2 weeks I went a whole day whitout a water change. I added another capful on day 2 and my ammonia dropped to .25. I did a 20% water change and now my ammonia is almost at 0. The sand helped, but the Microb-lift is what really stabilized my water. This stuff is the real deal!

My tank was at 0,5,20 with a pH of 7.8. I did a 25% pwc and then used this product (double dose) and one day later my water tests 0.25,5,5. I wasn't looking to reduce NO3 and the bottle says it oxidizes NH3 and NO2 anyway. My bottle is black, not white (not that it matters but the directions could be different on different bottles?) and does NOT tell me to shake or to avoid light. I shook anyway for the second and finally the third dose because I figured since it had different bacteria in it I should homogenize. Still crazy high NO2. It also lowered my pH to 7.4. I'm ordering the API NitraZorb pouches and hope to get better results.

The pellets in these are small and almost any size fish will truly enjoy them, not just small ones. I run my own fish rescue, and we feed this as a staple food to all of our fish, including guppies, cichlids, plecos, angelfish, goldfish and many others. It sinks instead of floating which is actually not a bad thing. The person who left the review saying they wouldn't buy it because of that reason obviously has no idea how fish feed. Fish will naturally filter through the gravel at the bottom of the tank to find these delicious little nutrient-packed pellets. I highly recommend this fish food for absolutely every fish!

Its very very small, and it sinks too fast. It gets trapped into the small spaces of the gravel and most of it is wasted. For a pellet this small, it should float so the fish can actually eat it. The ingredients are great and my fish do like NLS; I just won't buy "All Purpose" again.

I got this for my pit who is a little bit of a brat when it comes for corrections. Her metal collar never seemed to stay where I needed it to. Especially when i was training other dogs along with her. I heard from another trainer that the nylon was the best as far a good correction collar. Now we are using it for all of the rescue dogs I train. I love this product. It doesnt hurt the dog but it def gets the point across. Plus it looks very stylish and less intimating that the metal. I use this product to keep the water in my chicken coop from freezing. It works well and doesn't effect the sleeping habits of the chickens because it emits no visible light. If you're unsure about what wattage to get you can compare the heat of this, to the heat a traditional light bulb puts out.

I have three 100W Ceramic Heat Emitters for my two snakes and my bearded dragon. Two for the snakes are kept on dimmers that keep the temperatures right where they need to be. The one for my bearded dragon keeps the 40 gallon breeder tank right at the temperatures she needs and keeps her basking spot around 105 degrees. The CHE is approximately 15 inches above her basking spot. This brand has worked great so far, and I've had all three around two months and they are still going strong, which is a lot better than the regular red infrared bulbs I was using before that only lasted around a month and a half.

I like using this type of heat for my Bearded Dragon and Uromastyx. This bulb gives off radiant heat without the usual red glow of other heat bulbs. I will be purchasing again from this seller in the near future.

I put 2 of the 100 watt heaters in my coop. The nights are in the mid teens and these really help. I wish I had bought the 150 or 200 watt versions and I still may. The coop is about 5'X8'X8'hi. Several heaters in different locations distribute the heat better. The chickens love them, whereas they Hated the red heater light I used one night.

API Replacement Test Tubes with Caps

The picture is not what I got. What I got was the API testtubes which I am happy with. They are the exact same that came with all the API tests that I already have. And to make your life easier if you have a bunch of these get one of these: "Karter Scientific 208V2 Plastic Test Tube Rack for 12/13mm Tubes, Holds 50, Detachable" Its a perfect fit.

If you use the API test kits then you may want to get these to go along with it. These are simply replacement tubes for the API kit so they are the exact same as what comes in the kit (clear tube with a 5 ml mark and a cap). And since they are somewhat fragile you will eventually need some replacements. Also helps out to have multiple test tubes if you are testing multiple tanks at once, in my case, 6. Its a lot easier filling a bunch of tubes at once for testing than using, rinsing and reusing the same few tubes over and over for one batch of tests.
