Fluval E Electronic Heater

Fluval E 300-Watt Electronic HeaterLove the features...absolutely love the fact it has an integrated heater guard....seems well made...love the integrated temp display (BTW mine is showing an accurate temp reading)...love the ease in accurately modifying temp.

Longer version: Anyone who is serious about tropical/saltwater healthy fishkeeping should take their water temperature very seriously (unfortunately, it seems few do). In my experience, there are few well-made, reliable heaters out there regardless of how much you are willing to pay (my kingdom for a decent/reliable heater I'd always say!).

I used Hagen/Tronics for years and found them to be the best money could buy...(and they were competitively priced, about 40 bucks for a 200W submersible). Another reason I liked the Tronics is that I have heater guards that fit them (another often overlooked concern in my opinion). Unfortunately, they quit making the Tronics and eventually my backups were gone. I have since been on a very frustrating journey... I've tried all kinds (including recently Marineland Stealth and Hydor....which I was told were some of the better ones out there...they sucked... 2 Stealths failed closed (overheated, thank goodness for my close monitoring)--The Hydor could not maintain temperature (wild temp swings)....everything else I looked at and read about seemed like more of the same chinese junk. Although I'd read about some reliability issues, I was about to pull the trigger on the very expensive JBJ True Temp Digital controlled heater....when someone suggested this one.

I will update this review once I've logged some hours...but I'm very optimistic about this model!

NOTE: Some seem to think this is not Submersible...though not documented clearly and implied otherwise, it IS FULLY SUBMERSIBLE (see my response to the previous post).

Update: 2 years later and both units are going strong...highest recommendation.

Have this heater now in my fish tank for about a year. The heater itself has a glass housing. The outer casing visible in the picture is plastic. That's great to avoid any fish getting burned by the heater. Target temperature adjustment is straight forward following the instructions. I strongly doubt that any fish could change the adjustment (done by the little red lever which, granted, is in the water as well) as I had read somebody else posting. I use the heater fully submerged.

One thing to be aware of is that the heater needs to be in "flowing" water when being mounted vertically. Otherwise the built in temperature sensor will get triggered and report an error (rising warm water will create and "overheat" condition which switches off the heater). I don't have much water flow in my fish tank so I decided to mount the heater horizontally an inch or two above the gravel. Works perfectly this way.

The best part of the heater is the color coded built in temperature display. As long as the water has a temperature within one or two Fahrenheit of the target temperature the display is green. If the water temperature rises the display becomes red (while of course also displaying the exact temperature as a number). If rising an additional few degrees the display blinks red. Similarly if the water temperature goes below the target range the display becomes blue. This way one can quickly check that the water has the right temperature.

I recently upgraded my 55 gallon aquarium heater to the Fluval E Series 300w. It does an excellent job of maintaining temp and comes with a tough exterior cage (prevents disasters). I really enjoy the temp display screen, but some might find the bright light a problem at night (if you're looking for a dark room). I've bought several heaters over the years, from different brands, and this is by far my favorite.

Read Best Reviews of Fluval E Electronic Heater Here

I've used at least 6 brands of heaters over the years, and this Fluval wins hands down.

1) nice looking

2) plastic sheathing guards the fish. They like to lay on it.

3) temp gauge is ACCURATE! The display says 77.5 and my $$$ insta-read BBQ thermometer says 77.5.

(the reason i say this is that oodles of cheap fish thermometers _vary_. Test it with a reliable thermometer.)

4) cheap on black friday.

5) not all that long. Usually the higher the wattage, the longer the thermostat. The 300 watt fits in my 23 inch wide 25 Gal just fine. I like to put mine horizontal. Its so nice looking you wont notice it.

6) heats QUICK. A 37 gallon cold tank was 77.5 the next morning.

7) temp display is not at all bright so its not going to light up the room at night.

8) thermometer measures the temp of the WATER, not the heater glass like most heaters. Its surprising to learn how temps vary in your tank. Temps at top vs temps at the bottom. And the glass skews things even more. Measuring by water temp fixes all of those variables as long as you have water flow.

I liked this heater so much, I ordered a second one from amazon at regular price the next day.

Haven't had any problems with low-flow. The manual states that the heater can be taken apart and cleaned if it ever needs it.

EDIT: Just ordered a 3rd. The price keeps going up! Still amazed the display says 77.5 and another therm says 77.5. Exact.

I see the other semi-favorable reviews. Not sure why my 2 tanks are so exact when others fluctuate. I do have the glass top and plastic guards cut snug to prevent heat loss / evaporation... maybe that's also a requirement ? Maybe you are using a cheap therm. from petsmart ? I have a mercury one and its are so far off, its crazy.

UPDATE: its been 1 year and now one isn't heating right anymore. Its on 79.5 but the tank is at 75. Unplugged it for a couple hours and it reset itsself a bit better. Im getting a new one just to be safe.

I was looking for a more reliable heater than those I had over the years. The 5 year warranty and favorable reviews on the E300 seemed to fit the bill. The product has been very disappointing. I have a 180 gallon tank that has 2 canister filters; one filter has a 220watt in-line heater. I have always used a second heater to heat this tank, which is in a room that sometimes drops into the low 60's. The filter's heater in combination with a second 250-300watt heater has always done the job nicely. I have primarily used submersible titanium units. The last one lasted just over a year and then failed. That's when I decided to go with the E300. The product does have some nice features. The traditional glass tube is encased in a plastic slotted enclosure. That makes it safer especially with larger fish like my oscars. It also boasts sophisticated electronics with a very nice digital display window which shows current water temperature in large easier to see digits. The display glows green when temperature is within 2 degrees of the setting, blue when more than 2 degrees colder, and red if water temperature exceeds the heater's setting by more than 2 degrees. Now the negatives: The heater is not submersible and the manual calls for a 20-30 minute power off before removing or placing into service. That's not a big deal unless you do frequent water changes like I do. The heater requires placement in a current of water like the outflow of a filter. This apparently is required to dissipate the heat and allow the electronics to do their thing. If not so placed the digital display will constantly flash "LF" for low flow. Unlike conventional heaters, this one curiously does not have an indicator light to actually let you know when it is heating. That proved frustrating in trying to deal with the next point. The most disappointing aspect of the E300 is that it has proven to be a much weaker heater than any similar wattage one I have had before. As soon as I installed it, it became apparent that my secondary heater was working much harder than usual. The Fluval was in the blue mode so it should have been turning itself on. Without any indicator light, I had to wonder if it was working at all. I could only tell in complete darkness when I could see the glow from the actual heating element. To my surprise, it would glow for about 30 seconds and then go dark for over 2 minutes and then glow for 30 seconds again. This was while the water temperature was several degrees below the set temperature on the heater. I had to wonder if this was a malfunction. I called Hagen (Fluval parent company) customer service and was only told generic stuff: unplug and let it sit for 20 minutes then restart it, make be sure it's clean, etc. When that didn't help, I used their on-line help. They were very prompt in answering my emails but never addressed my question as to whether these 30 second bursts of 'on' with much more 'off' time in between was normal. They did offer to exchange my heater. I paid for shipping it to them and got a new heater within the same week. While without it, my other heater easily kept my water temperature at a steady 75 for several days. I put the new heater in, and set it for 78.5 and later 80.5. I didn't change anything else, basically asking the E300 to raise the temperature a few degrees. The best it can do is increase the temperature to 76-77 degrees, constantly showing it's blue display to confirm it is incapable of reaching it's setting. Doing my sitting in the dark observations, the 30 second pulses are identical to the first unit. I can only conclude that the 300 watts of claimed power are drastically restrained by fancy electronics that seem designed to give pulse heating. Any other similarly powered heater would stay on until much higher temperatures were reached. (I used to have discus in this tank and easily kept 84 degrees.)My next heater will likely be a titanium submersible.

SpongeBob SquarePants® 2" Friends & 6" Pineapple House® Aquarium Ornaments

Penn Plax Spongebob Resin OrnamentI have a small goldfish bowl with gravel and some shells but I was missing a "center" piece. Patrick is the perfect size! He is very nicely made and the color is beautiful. Great purchase for fans of Spongebob :)

I bought this product because I wanted to make my son a SpongeBob terrarium (more low-maintenance than a pet fish). While most of the figurines look fine, the Sandy looks weird and unlike the actual character in the show. My other quibble is that the Gary figurine is the same size as SpongeBob. Otherwise, the set was fine and my kid really enjoys the terrarrium.

Buy SpongeBob SquarePants® 2" Friends & 6" Pineapple House® Aquarium Ornaments Now

Did I say small? Yes, Spongebob is less than two inches tall. In our 46 gallen tank he is easily missed.

When I purchased this the product description said nothing about size. My error in not asking as I assumed for the price it would be somewhere around 3+ inches. Oh well, he's found a home in our tank and my twin two-year olds take pleasure in point him out.

API Aquarium Salt, 16-Ounce

API Aquarium Salt, 16-OunceI have very hard water in my area, so this works great to condition the water. Just make sure you don't use too much.

I have a number of five gallon freshwater tanks but of course they can use about a tablespoon of salt per tank. Have used to cure fin rot. My "technique" is to fill a five gallon jug with tap water. Add one tablespoon of the salt and whatever else I need to put in there (stress coat, algae drops, etc.) let it stand overnight at least. I siphon out a bit of water from each tank and replace with the water from the jug as needed. This eliminates problem with having the salts dissolve and from my experience is just a good practice if you are dealing with tap water.

In my case when used for fin rot I did daily water changes of about 1/3 the tank. Having it pre-mixed keeps the consistency you need for each change and that definitely helps the fish.

My beta fish had seen better days, so I did some research and bought some aquarium salt. It cleared up the fuzzy moldy looking stuff on the fish. He's as good as new!

The aquarium salt is good. I usually get the bigger one since i have a 55g tank. It works good, fish look healthy. Haven't lost a fish in months, maybe this is the reason.

Only complaint would be if you have plecos/bottom feeders make sure they dont eat this. They will die. I put the salt in my fish net and let it dissolve in the net.

Zilla Terrarium Liner

Zilla 11701 Terrarium Liner, 75-Gallon, GreenI am rating this product four stars as I did for the 20L/29 product due to the quality of the product. This particular item, however, is not sized for a 20L aquarium. The sparse item description has been brought to the attention of the seller (Ozbo), but they have declined to act upon the suggestion to augment the description with an actual length/width specification. Be aware that this is not for a 20L (30" x 12") tank.

I would absolutly recommend this product to anyone looking into this substrate. It is very quick and easy to clean and really does help conseal odors.

This product does what it's supposed to. My chinese water dragon loves it over the bark chips or dirt, and it looks really good.

where's the problem? well, I ordered what was supposed to be a 55 gallon reptile carpet. I have a 55 gallon reptile tank...

so why does't it fit?! I even cut it to cover as much room as i could. with the 3 pieces it covered everything but a little 2 inch by 5 inch square in the back. It is really irritating. I ended up putting a wet towel in that area until i can order another carpet just to cover that one spot.

Como 14 Pcs Emulational Heart Style Leaves Flower Decor Plants for Fish Tank

Como 14 Pcs Emulational Heart Style Leaves Flower Decor Plants for Fish TankYou wont go wrong with these bulk aquarium plants. You wont know the difference to name branded product except in pricing! Warning however DO soak these in water with water treatment such as aquasafe as they have a tremendous chemical aroma. I let mine soak overnight in my water change bucket with some aquasafe to neutralize any potentially bad chemicals.Rinsed and put in my tank. Excellent movement and vibrant color. Pending any ill effects on my livestock I would highly recommend. Just take precautions prior to use in tank. Seller was fast and ship time was low. Quality excellent and price beyond reproach. Beats the tar off paying 3-12 dollars a plant at the chain stores.

These aren't a nice realistic shade of green, they are a bright neon. The second I opened them, I was overpowered with a chemical and plastic smell. Soaking these in water for a week with daily water changes and adding tap water conditioner did nothing to alter the smell and neither did letting them sit in the sun. I am afraid to put them in the tank for fear of altering the water parameters and combined with their color, I will be returning them.

This is a great deal for someone like myself who is starting out a new tank and doesnt want to invest a lot of money right from the start. I used about 1/2 of the plants along with some other decorations I purchased. If I needed more I would certainly buy these again. The only one I think is very unrealistic is a pink flower, it just looks fake, the leaves on it look good though so I just pulled the flower off and used the leaves.

High quality plants, look good and pretty realistic for plastic. The ceramic bases hold the plants down so they aren't all floating around the top of the tank when my cichlids unbury them. The only thing I would change is have them all green, or all mixed colors. The orange ones are a little hard to fit in with the rest of the decor.

JW Pet Company Accuair 3-Way Aquarium Gang Valve

JW Pet Company Accuair 3-Way Aquarium Gang ValveI was attracted to the unusual "syringe" design. However, when I received them, they seem big for my 15 gallon tank. What I didn't see from the description picture was the big (unnecessary)hinge/clamp behind the packaging. The "big" size and the yellow knobs really draws undesired attention. The overall quality is good and it offers easy precise air control.

Pro: Highly functional and precise controls, good quality

Con: Unnecessarily big, yellow gets unwanted attention

I got the product in a timely manner, im using for my betta tank and my two goldfish tanks. Its great because I can run multiple air lines at once

It's wonderful to be able to control the air flow, and works great....well made too and clamps nicely to the aquarium. Watching the bubbles is as good as watching the fish!

This item works fine an no problems at all. It is larger than I think most people will expect. That and the fact of the bright yellow color makes it a little unsightly. I use them in my fry tanks and shrimp hatcheries in the garage so I really don't care. However if this will be visible in your den or living room you may want to find something a little smaller and less conspicuous. Besides for that it is quality and works well

Mammoth Squeakies Dog Nylon Large Squeak Toy

Squeakies Dog Nylon Small Squeak Toy, 8-Inch, Assorted ColorsMy 1 year old Boston Terrier Riley loved the Squeaky Freaks Nylon Dog Toy... we called him "red dog" but unfortunately red dog didn't hold up to the heavy chewing as his nylon covering was easily shredded. We tossed the toy a couple of weeks ago and are still finding strands in the carpet. Riley wasn't happy about us tossing red dog and tried repeatedly to save the toy from the trash, but we were concerned about the stuffing and strands that were coming off of the toy. It's a shame.

I purchased this toy for my 8 month Lab hoping that the nylon material will be durable and strong. I also liked the idea of multiple squeakers, one even made a "quaking" noise. The dog really liked the squeaks too and the size was good, not too big or too small to carry around. But within 10 minutes she chewed off the tail and once the tail was gone she was able to get to the stuffing in another 10 minutes. Out came the squeakers and the stuffing and the toy was history. Although the quality seemed ok, this toy is not "Lab proof" and my money was gone in 20 minutes. Do not recommend for bigger dogs or "chewers".

Buy Mammoth Squeakies Dog Nylon Large Squeak Toy Now

I bought the small dog toy for my husky, who loves squeaky toys. She can be slightly tough on toys, so I was hoping that the nylon toy would stand up to her. However, after 10 minutes of playing, stuffing was already coming out.

I checked the toy to see if was just a bit of faulty stitching that I could fix six seams had completly opened up and the nylon fabric had frayed to the trash!

Though my dog can be slightly destructive to toys, she's not one of those "eat a Kong toy in 10 minutes" kind of dog. I anticipated that this toy would probably be destroyed, but was expecting it to last at least a few months.

Though I'm tempted to give it one star, I'll give it two stars for dog enjoyment. For the 10 minutes my dog had it, she was in doggie heaven! I wish it was more durable I was sad that I had to take it away from her.

Hydor H2Show Lost Civilization - Calander and Snake Decoration Combo Pack for Aquariums

Hydor H2Show Lost Civilization - Calander and Snake Decoration Combo Pack for AquariumsThe decorations themselves are wonderful. They are very detailed and look amazing in my 55 gal. Goldfish tank. They are the perfect size, and stand out nicely without being too obtrusive. However, the packaging of these decorations is HORRIBLE. They are glued down into their clear plastic and cardboard box with no insulation or barrier of any kind between the two pieces. Only glue on cardboard is holding them in place, so when one of them (most likely the bigger and heavier calendar piece) inevitably comes loose, it goes flying around the flimsy box and crashes into the other piece.

Because of this incident, my dragon decoration was chipped, but luckily it wasn't in too bad of shape and I could see no other damage. After removing the pieces, I then sat there for a good twenty minutes trying to get all of the packaging glue off of the bottom of the decorations before I could place them in my tank.

Beautiful decorative pieces for any aquarium, but incredibly ignorant packaging. Purchase at own risk. If they manage to make it through the shipping process without getting too banged up, there's no doubt that you will like them.

When I opened the box and found that one of the Snake's heads had been broken into pieces. All of the items were detached from their positions and free moving and thus crashing inside the box. The protection of the packaging was poor.

Marina Air Pump

Marina 100 Air PumpJust got this air pump and set it up in my Fluval Edge. I wanted an air pump from a reputable manufacturer and (most importantly) that was quiet as can be. This air pump by Hagen fits the bill, especially on the quiet arena. My other aquarium is using a Tetra Whisper 10 air pump. I thought that was as silent as they come, that is until now. But hearing this Hagen Marina 75 in action, my Tetra Whisper is far from being a "whisper" and more like a lawnmower by relative comparison. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit, but honestly, the Marina 75 is quiet and puts the Tetra Whisper to shame.

This Marina 75 air pump is quiet. Not silent, but very quiet. Quieter than all the rest, and I've tried all the brands. It puts out enough air for a small tank. After I got this one, I tried the 100, and it puts out a good deal more air and is very nearly as quiet as the 75--surprisingly so. So if you've got more than 20 gallons, go for the 100. Haven't tried the 200 yet, but I've got one on order.

UPDATE Aug 2012: All of these Marina air pumps get noisier over time. I've also broken the nipple on every single pump I've owned when I've tried to remove the air line. The 200 is not quiet from the start. Even so, I buy one every so often because they are cheap and most of them start out quiet. I get the 100 because I want the air. Originally I gave this product 5 stars. Now just 3.

Buy Marina Air Pump Now

The quality is just not here material wise, the plastic nipples broke off 1st one after about 3 weeks the second after 5. they are recessed and had flexible airline attached, almost impossible to put any stress on them.

My guess is heat and poor quality plastic.

Both plastic nipples that the air hose attaches to broke off so now can't be used at all. I had purchased it about 6 months ago.

When this product first arrived, its performance blew my mind. It was silent and explosive, and my plants seemed to be thriving.

When the Amazon box first arrived, I took out the air pump, connected the airline, plugged it in and let it run. That was the last time I touched it.

Two weeks later, the air pump was still going strong but my plants were all dead. The two black nozzles where the (2 foot) airline connected were barely hanging on: snapped under the routine pressure of running 24/7.

From a previous (horrible) experience with an Aqua Culture air pump, I was already cautious about poor quality air pumps, so I made sure I connected the airline only once. There was no constant tugging or pulling on the plastic nozzles: I connected an airline once the first time it was plugged in.

The pump's longevity simply isn't there.

I uploaded a picture of the broken pump after 2 weeks:

Aquatic Creations Static Cling Aquarium Background, 24 by 12-Inch, Tropical

Aquatic Creations Static Cling Aquarium Background, 24 by 12-Inch, TropicalPros: The backing is marked off in 1 inch grid lines, making trimming to fit easier. As stated in the prod description, the vinyl attaches to the glass of the aquarium with static electricity. The image is well defined. At night the background looks good.

Con: The image is printed (screened?) on a transparent vinyl. During the day or back lit the light shines through and the image is faded. Overall it's not bad, you can still see the image. It's just faded a bit.

Installation Note: I recommend removing all obstructions from the rear of the tank. To get the static vinyl to hold you will need to get a fair portion in contact with the tank. It worked best for me to temporarily tape 1/8" of the backing to a top corner then I worked across to the opposite top corner and then pushed the air pockets out of the bottom. Once I had the entire backing in contact and being held I removed the tape and made adjustments as needed.

Coralife 08624 T5 Actinic Lamp, 6-Watt

Coralife 08624 T5 Actinic Lamp, 6-WattI got this as a replacement bulb for my 3-gallon aquarium. The actinic bulb was just not bright enough for my tank. I've seen other actinic bulbs in use that were much brighter. Not worth the trouble of returning, but I took it right out after a couple of days. Perhaps if there were more than one bulb, it would have been sufficient...

I have been through 5 Coralife Mini Aqualight fixtures and the bulbs do not last more then a week or two. I have changed bulbs and fixtures. I would never use this product or recommend it to anyone.

Buy Coralife 08624 T5 Actinic Lamp, 6-Watt Now

As this item was classified as a lamp, I thought it was going to be a lamp, as in the fixture you put the light bulbs in. Instead what I was sent was the bulb, pretty useless as I don't own the lamp that it goes in and don't care to spend $60 on a small fish light. This was definitely a case of false advertisement.

However, when I called the company and asked for a return or refund, they gave me a full refund and were very courteous.

For that reason alone they got three stars. I can't tell if the bulb is actually good or not because I didn't want to buy the bulb and have no where to test it. The company though is one I'd recommend as long as the buyer stays away from 'lamps'.

JBJ 3 Gallon Picotope Curved Glass Aquarium

JBJ 3 Gallon Picotope Curved Glass AquariumI had my eye on this little aquarium for a while, and am happy I got it. The filter provided is very flimsy, but it is quiet and provides a very gentle flow, which is great if you're keeping fish who dislike a strong current, particularly in such a small space. The media inside the filter is quality, and there is a modest amount of flow adjustment allowed on the intake valve. The size of the tank is perfect for fry or other tiny fish or invertebrates. On first blush it seems like a great tank for a betta, but this is an open-top tank and bettas are known jumpers.

The real value in this set, though, is not the filter or the light (which is perfectly adequate), but the aquarium itself -The glass is very solid, heavy, and exceptionally clear. The bottom is beveled for beauty and stability. The buying price is worth it just for the tank itself. Pershnickity aquarists will find it worth the time and money changing out the filter and/or light for something better, because the aquarium itself is true quality.

I'm into nano-reef aquariums. This is a great tank to get started! It's a popular tank for the hobby and there is lots of info is out there specifically for it. Looks nice and clean on a desk. Though, as with any tank, you will need to add a few parts. I added a modified AquaClear70, a MiniJet404 powerhead, and a Current Satellite 18W light, and a Hydor 25W heater. I strongly recommend this aquarium for anyone wanting to cultivate beautiful corals, but not interested in fish. You can really only do one small SW fish with this tank (I'm not planning to). Though there is plenty of room for a few other invertebrates.

First off, I have to agree with the previous poster. The end of the filter nozzle can slip off easily and can literally siphon small fish into the filter. I would recommend possibly using a rubber band or some way to make them stay attached more sturdily, or possibly some aquarium safe silicone.

With that being said I also had a problem with one of the filters. I purchased four of these tanks for my bettas and one of the filters has a slow leak in the back. It is so slow I didn't realize it until the next day after having set these tanks up. It has caused water damage to my furniture. I specifically purchased a new book shelf to house these tanks and the shelf hasn't even been in my home for 72 hours and it now has water damage. I can accept this since it is toward the back up against the wall but here's the thing.....

I called JBJ Lighting and left a message which they did NOT return. I called them again and they wanted me to jump through all these hoops in order to show proof of my purchase. I spent over $160 on their products. I feel they should help me out a bit without me having to do so much work.

In any event, I called Doctors Foster and Smith (the vendor from which I purchased my tanks) and they are doing the work for me and have assured me they will take care of the filter replacement. I'm relieved and grateful and I highly recommend Doctors Foster and Smith. I have done business with them in the past and they have always taken good care of me.

I'm only giving the company JBJ Lighting 2 stars (because of how they handled me)but the tank itself with no problems would be worthy of at least 4 stars. My bettas seem quite happy in their new homes. The other disadvantage is they only have a 6 month warranty on these tanks. That's really a brief amount of time. Other companies offer at least a year's worth. In the future I will be hesitant to purchase items from JBJ Transworld Aquatic Ent., Inc. I do not appreciate their lack of putting the customer first.

Sept 21st ***UPDATE***

JBJ finally sent me a replacement filter. They sort of took their time. Now I am having problems with the impellers getting clogged with the charcoal medium that is breaking down. I decided to unplug and rinse everything out and the bag of charcoal is literally crumbling and making a mess everywhere. I've only had them working for roughly 3 weeks.

The one thing I noticed is that the impeller screws in from the bottom and can be disconnected from the body of the filter. This is design is INSANE! It's like having a bathroom sink hanging over the sides of the tank with a drain clog in place to prevent the water from seeping out. In time rubber breaks down and it WILL be a problem eventually. This i why one of my filters leaked from the get go.

These tanks are going back. Companies that pay no attention to quality are souring my desire to be an aquarist. I'd give them one star if I could but I can't change my initial 2 star rating.

This tank is amazing. It's very well built, and comes with a quality light. With a good hang on back filter, this tank would make the perfect addition to any desk.

Just received this tank today. In all honesty it was a great purchase. To get the tank, light, and a filter for 40(ish). Is a great deal. The glass is almost flawless as well as the seals. I honestly have no cons about the tank itself or anything else.

For those skeptical I was there too.

The tank itself is actually a decent size and everything works just fine.
