Since starting to use this product my fish are more active and the water stays clearer, and apparently healthier. I give this my highest recommendation. Everyone should have one. Clears water extremely fast! I wouldn't want to run a tank without one of these. the only drawback is that it is pretty bulky (about 6 inches long by 2.5 wide). These are great! They attach to a (sold separately) filter that you can attach to a powerhead. Cloudy water is cleared in an hour! However, they do get dirty pretty quick and need replacement often. In my opinion, it's a small price to pay for crystal clear beautiful water.I use the quick filters in my water dragon enclosure. I love the quick filter for quick change outs. It doesn't get much easier.

Fluval E Electronic Heater
Longer version: Anyone who is serious about tropical/saltwater healthy fishkeeping should take their water temperature very seriously (unfortunately, it seems few do). In my experience, there are few well-made, reliable heaters out there regardless of how much you are willing to pay (my kingdom for a decent/reliable heater I'd always say!).
I used Hagen/Tronics for years and found them to be the best money could buy...(and they were competitively priced, about 40 bucks for a 200W submersible). Another reason I liked the Tronics is that I have heater guards that fit them (another often overlooked concern in my opinion). Unfortunately, they quit making the Tronics and eventually my backups were gone. I have since been on a very frustrating journey... I've tried all kinds (including recently Marineland Stealth and Hydor....which I was told were some of the better ones out there...they sucked... 2 Stealths failed closed (overheated, thank goodness for my close monitoring)--The Hydor could not maintain temperature (wild temp swings)....everything else I looked at and read about seemed like more of the same chinese junk. Although I'd read about some reliability issues, I was about to pull the trigger on the very expensive JBJ True Temp Digital controlled heater....when someone suggested this one.
I will update this review once I've logged some hours...but I'm very optimistic about this model!
NOTE: Some seem to think this is not Submersible...though not documented clearly and implied otherwise, it IS FULLY SUBMERSIBLE (see my response to the previous post).
Update: 2 years later and both units are going strong...highest recommendation.Have this heater now in my fish tank for about a year. The heater itself has a glass housing. The outer casing visible in the picture is plastic. That's great to avoid any fish getting burned by the heater. Target temperature adjustment is straight forward following the instructions. I strongly doubt that any fish could change the adjustment (done by the little red lever which, granted, is in the water as well) as I had read somebody else posting. I use the heater fully submerged.
One thing to be aware of is that the heater needs to be in "flowing" water when being mounted vertically. Otherwise the built in temperature sensor will get triggered and report an error (rising warm water will create and "overheat" condition which switches off the heater). I don't have much water flow in my fish tank so I decided to mount the heater horizontally an inch or two above the gravel. Works perfectly this way.
The best part of the heater is the color coded built in temperature display. As long as the water has a temperature within one or two Fahrenheit of the target temperature the display is green. If the water temperature rises the display becomes red (while of course also displaying the exact temperature as a number). If rising an additional few degrees the display blinks red. Similarly if the water temperature goes below the target range the display becomes blue. This way one can quickly check that the water has the right temperature.

I recently upgraded my 55 gallon aquarium heater to the Fluval E Series 300w. It does an excellent job of maintaining temp and comes with a tough exterior cage (prevents disasters). I really enjoy the temp display screen, but some might find the bright light a problem at night (if you're looking for a dark room). I've bought several heaters over the years, from different brands, and this is by far my favorite.Read Best Reviews of Fluval E Electronic Heater Here
I've used at least 6 brands of heaters over the years, and this Fluval wins hands down.1) nice looking
2) plastic sheathing guards the fish. They like to lay on it.
3) temp gauge is ACCURATE! The display says 77.5 and my $$$ insta-read BBQ thermometer says 77.5.
(the reason i say this is that oodles of cheap fish thermometers _vary_. Test it with a reliable thermometer.)
4) cheap on black friday.
5) not all that long. Usually the higher the wattage, the longer the thermostat. The 300 watt fits in my 23 inch wide 25 Gal just fine. I like to put mine horizontal. Its so nice looking you wont notice it.
6) heats QUICK. A 37 gallon cold tank was 77.5 the next morning.
7) temp display is not at all bright so its not going to light up the room at night.
8) thermometer measures the temp of the WATER, not the heater glass like most heaters. Its surprising to learn how temps vary in your tank. Temps at top vs temps at the bottom. And the glass skews things even more. Measuring by water temp fixes all of those variables as long as you have water flow.
I liked this heater so much, I ordered a second one from amazon at regular price the next day.
Haven't had any problems with low-flow. The manual states that the heater can be taken apart and cleaned if it ever needs it.
EDIT: Just ordered a 3rd. The price keeps going up! Still amazed the display says 77.5 and another therm says 77.5. Exact.
I see the other semi-favorable reviews. Not sure why my 2 tanks are so exact when others fluctuate. I do have the glass top and plastic guards cut snug to prevent heat loss / evaporation... maybe that's also a requirement ? Maybe you are using a cheap therm. from petsmart ? I have a mercury one and its are so far off, its crazy.
UPDATE: its been 1 year and now one isn't heating right anymore. Its on 79.5 but the tank is at 75. Unplugged it for a couple hours and it reset itsself a bit better. Im getting a new one just to be safe.I was looking for a more reliable heater than those I had over the years. The 5 year warranty and favorable reviews on the E300 seemed to fit the bill. The product has been very disappointing. I have a 180 gallon tank that has 2 canister filters; one filter has a 220watt in-line heater. I have always used a second heater to heat this tank, which is in a room that sometimes drops into the low 60's. The filter's heater in combination with a second 250-300watt heater has always done the job nicely. I have primarily used submersible titanium units. The last one lasted just over a year and then failed. That's when I decided to go with the E300. The product does have some nice features. The traditional glass tube is encased in a plastic slotted enclosure. That makes it safer especially with larger fish like my oscars. It also boasts sophisticated electronics with a very nice digital display window which shows current water temperature in large easier to see digits. The display glows green when temperature is within 2 degrees of the setting, blue when more than 2 degrees colder, and red if water temperature exceeds the heater's setting by more than 2 degrees. Now the negatives: The heater is not submersible and the manual calls for a 20-30 minute power off before removing or placing into service. That's not a big deal unless you do frequent water changes like I do. The heater requires placement in a current of water like the outflow of a filter. This apparently is required to dissipate the heat and allow the electronics to do their thing. If not so placed the digital display will constantly flash "LF" for low flow. Unlike conventional heaters, this one curiously does not have an indicator light to actually let you know when it is heating. That proved frustrating in trying to deal with the next point. The most disappointing aspect of the E300 is that it has proven to be a much weaker heater than any similar wattage one I have had before. As soon as I installed it, it became apparent that my secondary heater was working much harder than usual. The Fluval was in the blue mode so it should have been turning itself on. Without any indicator light, I had to wonder if it was working at all. I could only tell in complete darkness when I could see the glow from the actual heating element. To my surprise, it would glow for about 30 seconds and then go dark for over 2 minutes and then glow for 30 seconds again. This was while the water temperature was several degrees below the set temperature on the heater. I had to wonder if this was a malfunction. I called Hagen (Fluval parent company) customer service and was only told generic stuff: unplug and let it sit for 20 minutes then restart it, make be sure it's clean, etc. When that didn't help, I used their on-line help. They were very prompt in answering my emails but never addressed my question as to whether these 30 second bursts of 'on' with much more 'off' time in between was normal. They did offer to exchange my heater. I paid for shipping it to them and got a new heater within the same week. While without it, my other heater easily kept my water temperature at a steady 75 for several days. I put the new heater in, and set it for 78.5 and later 80.5. I didn't change anything else, basically asking the E300 to raise the temperature a few degrees. The best it can do is increase the temperature to 76-77 degrees, constantly showing it's blue display to confirm it is incapable of reaching it's setting. Doing my sitting in the dark observations, the 30 second pulses are identical to the first unit. I can only conclude that the 300 watts of claimed power are drastically restrained by fancy electronics that seem designed to give pulse heating. Any other similarly powered heater would stay on until much higher temperatures were reached. (I used to have discus in this tank and easily kept 84 degrees.)My next heater will likely be a titanium submersible.

I should have listened to the other reviews about not lasting very long, but decided to give it a shot. I was looking for an alternative to rawhide for my German Shepard puppy. While he did love these treats a lot (hence 2 Stars) I was amazed at how quickly they vanished. It was literally about 5 seconds for him to eat one before he was staring up at me. Clearly not what I was looking for in a chew.I was able to partially salvage these treats by putting them into water and making blocks of ice/treat so they would last longer (although this can be messy). I would also highly recommend dried Sweet potatoes and beef/bison tendons to anyone interested in long lasting chew treats and rawhide alternatives.

I have an Egyptian themed tank and my cichlids LOVE this little broken vase. I, myself, didn't have to deal with sharpened edges like some of the other people have said. I have a bright Yellow cichlid who has decided that this is his house and whenever I come to feed him, he sticks his little head out of the hole and it looks SO cute. If you have large fish, then this isn't for you. but if you have smaller type fish, less than three to four inches, they will love it.Want Exotic Environments Egyptian Vase Aquarium Ornament Discount?
I love this piece, it works really well with my daughter's Mediterranean tank theme. The fish love it...this was a great purchase! I would have liked this to be larger but it is still wonderful!Fluval Nano Aquarium Filter
As for circulation....you will have plenty. It is a pretty powerful little filter and creates a strong current when fully open. The beauty is that it has a little plastic valve that controls the flow and works very well once it is set. Setting it is another point of frustration....but once you get it, you won't have to play around with it and you can forget it. I tried several different mounting options both horizontally and vertically and finally settled on the traditional vertical mount. I also bought the carbon inserts....pretty much a waste of money and I got pieces of carbon on my white sand. A MAJOR pain. I am not deducting from this rating, because it is not part of this set up, but rather an optional purchase. Still, if your tank is cloudy, chances are you need a good amount of activated carbon....here's a tip. Get an old nylon stocking, tie one end. place enough carbon to fill the slot and tie the other end. Easy and cheap and very functional Don't forget to rinse it a bit before putting it into the tank. The little cartridges are just not enough and too expensive.
I did have a problem with sound as well, as if it were grinding gears, but I think the problem was air. I completely submersed the filter, and angled it to make sure all the air got it, and sure enough, no more grinding sound. I will also mention that this was one of those VERY rare times that I did not look to Amazon first and bought this at a local (well known) "pet company." Serves me right and lesson relearned...Amazon has it for half the price and free shipping!
This is very quiet as long as everything stays FULLY submersed. I like the filter box, as you can put your own media in it, which I recommend, as I mentioned with the activated carbon. If anything changes, I will update. So far, I like it!This filter works fine for a small tank but the high flow rate bothers my fish. If you turn down the valve, it causes the motor to buzz annoyingly. Next time I will buy a tank capable of taking an external canister filter. But if you need a cheap in-tank filter this one will do the job.

I bought this at a local aquarium store in hopes of replacing my Marina S10 Slim profile filter for my 5 gallon shrimp tank. It was too large to fit upright in the tank and the flow was far too strong for my shrimp. The flow is adjustable but when I turned it down it rattled so loudly that I thought something was broken. I then moved it to my 10-gallon hospital tank and again the flow was so strong that the fish constantly struggled to not be swept away. (I did have a few ill/weak fish get stuck to the intake and expire.) I have turned the flow down and have that annoying rattle in the kitchen where my hospital tank is located. (****Update: After three weeks the filter finally quieted down, probably because water flow is more impeded by matter in the filter media. I raised the rating to three stars from two now that it does not sound like a train is going through my kitchen.)In the future I am going to buy a mini canister filter (either the ZooMed 501 turtle canister filter or the TOM aquarium mini rapids canister) for my smaller tanks in order to have the spray bar and better filtration for my planted tanks.
Also, the filter cannot be moved while it is on; the portion that contains filter media falls off very easily if the filter is plugged in. Both parts of the filter are stuck to the glass with suction cups but they are no longer attached to each other, and trying to put them back together with the filter running is impossible.
I would not recommend this for anything smaller than a 15-gallon tank. The flow is far too strong for most creatures that would live in a nano tank.
I like Fluval products but I do not recommend this one.

This exact same filter came with my Fluval Ebi tank.*The actual media included in the unit comes with a large thin sponge layer followed by 2 more sponge layers...no biological or chemical filtration is included although it is possible to custom fill the media chambers with your own mix.
*The motor is attached MAGNETICALLY to the media chamber...needless to say that means this thing pops open in half quite often, releasing waste products and dirty water back into the tank every single time you want to move the filter around or take it out for cleaning.
*Popped the filter in after scaping the tank and wanted to use it to clear the water of the substrate that got kicked up, it's rated for tanks up to 15 gallons and with the Ebi being a 9 gallon tank it's technically more filter than you actually need...have had the thing running for about 12 hours now and the water is STILL extremely dark and murky...the stock AC20 that came on my Edge cleared the water to almost crystal clarity in 30 minutes.
*Uses a spray bar design to supposedly re-direct water current so as to not disturb sensitive fish and plants, except that when the waterflow is set to low it sounds like a bucket of gravel that got tossed into a food processor and when it's set to high it actually creates just as much if not more water disruption than other filters and because this thing is designed for smaller tanks (specifically nanos) that totally negates the entire point of having a difficult to clean spray bar.
*Impossible to put a sponge or bio-bag over the filter intake to protect fish fry and baby shrimps.
At $15 this thing is a flaming rip off when there's literally dozens of cheaper and better designed filters out there, like the AC20 which is only $3 more but about 300x the filter that this thing is. Hagen usually makes amazing products and I am a huge fan of their Fluval line of nano tanks and accessories but there is seriously no excusing how piss poor this product was designed and priced. I wouldn't even take it for free.
If for whatever reason you *MUST* have an anemic internal filter that's grossly overpriced buy this product..otherwise do the smart thing and get yourself a decent hang-on-back filter.

I have 2 in my 5 gallon tank one with mixed media and the other with Seachem Purigen only my water is crystal clear (fresh water). Silent operation in general. I think the top valve connector could be a bit better, however, it has held up without issue on both after several months 24/7.This is a nice simple clean product that works. I tried the whisper line, and this is a much better solution for a small fresh water set. I suspect you could ladder several for up to 25 gallons...?
Well made, suction is very aggressive, no breakdowns at all. Perfect small tank can filter.

API Root Tabs 10 Count
I purchased these tablets as I renewed the plantings in an existing aquarium. I was told (by the owner of a large and reputable aquatic store) that the plants needed fertilizer at the roots, because they are root feeders. Knowing what nitrogen and phosphorus are capable of, I inserted sparingly, deep in the gravel. Within a couple of weeks, the nitrate level in an established aquarium is through the roof, and my water looks like green jello. I now have the aquarium covered to limit algal growth, and have purchased a UV filter to try to kill the rest. I am currently doing three 30% water changes each week to reduce N + P, and after two more weeks, it's still pretty green.
The cost of the tablets is far more than the few dollars for the product. Right now I have over $100 invested in getting rid of the algal bloom, and haven't seen my fish in weeks, other than their outlines when I feed them (sparsely).
Up until I used these tablets, I used a liquid micronutrient additive, which never caused a problem. I would recommend trying a micronutrient tablet, if have plants requiring root zone feeding. I have used Seachem tablets, and they contain only trace N and P, and a number of other micronutrients required for healthy plant growth.I have use these on my 20L for 8 months they are a great product. My planted tank is an official grow beasts.this item is okay but needs some improvement. I would suggest that you use another tab instead. I used this in a 55 gallon that's lightly planted. A good way to use this is to give each plant 3 tabs. Other than that it's not that bad but needs improvements.

110V 100W Watt Anti-Explosion Submersible Aquarium Fish Tank Water Heater
There is only one drawback, the cord is short. This isn't a problem where my tank is located, but I know for others this could be a big problem. Luckily a short cord can be mediated with extension cables. Most people have an extra hanging out somewhere, so problem solved.
All in all, this is a great heater, especially for the price. I highly recommend this product!!! I give it 5 stars because I didn't find the short cord to be an issue. This prodect does excellently for mixing saltwater. My 5gallon mixing tub is heated consistantly, and it hasn't blown up, boiled the water, or shut off so far! It is easily adjustable, and it works well for such a small amount of water.
The cord is short, but isn't a problem for me since my mixing tub is right next to the outlet. I can see this being a problem for others though.
After researching all over the internet for a good quality heater, this one actually works and does what it says.

thermostat doesn't work properly. i ran it for 12 hrs and it stayed at the temp i got it at.when i got home, the temp was WAY high and i'm surprised my fish didn't die.
also 'crazy cart' sent the package to my STREET with no house number. item was almost sent back but i got ahold of USPS.
crazy cart would not take responsibility for their error.
one day later it exploded and got glass and god knows what inside the tank. temp also went super high.
my fish hasnt acted the same way since.
i examined the electrical components and it looks very poorly assembled.
it looks like water entered the heater and caused it to short out.

Finnex Resin 3-Piece Driftwood Replica for Aquarium, Small
the thing i like least about it is the small frog and stuff on them i wanted it to look more realistic and these look very fakeI wasn't 100% sure how big they would be as they were listed as small but they are a nice size for a 3pc set. I added them to a 29 gallon aquarium and the size works nice as a floor ground piece. The colors are nice and they look realistic. The only thing I dislike about them are the little green frogs that are on 2 of the pieces.

Tetra Waterfall Globe Aquarium
CONS:
-Glass bowl had some imperfectionsslightly warped (But not very noticeable) lip and 2 weird air bubble-looking things I found. At first I thought it was an air bubble inside that just stuck to the side of the bowl, but it actually was just imperfections in the glass. At least the glass bowl is replaceable.
The flat bottom of the glass bowl is only about 4-5 inches in diametermakes it harder to put some types of plants or ornaments in. you could put in more gravel, but you'll have to keep ornaments and plants toward the centerno big deal, really.
-The hinge on the light hood is a little loose and wobbly. It doesn't rattle, But I wouldn't be surprised if it is the first part that brakes. Nothing a little duct-tape and super glue won't fix. The rest of the plastic parts seem sturdy, otherwise.
PROS:
-Sleek
-QuietYou can only hear a faint hum when you are within 3-4 feet when it is dead-silent in the room.
-8 bright white LED lights give a nice "moon light" effect at night.
-Soothing Waterfall that also oxygenates the waterseriously, I had 2 Aponogeton plant bulbs in my old tank for 2 weeks and they haven't even started to sprout. 2 days after I put them in this bowl, they started growing, 3 days later, they were already 3 inches tall.
-Water stays crystal clear for months at a time.
-Easily change filter cartridges.
-Perfect for showing off exotic small fish. I wouldn't put more than 3 or 4 small fish in it, though.
-glass globe magnifies things when you look through it at the right angle.
-you can fill water up to the lip without worrying about the waterfall making it overflow.
-I think the current of the waterfall makes the fish more active. My Betta, Finwick, was always kind of lazy in his old bowl, he would swim around sometimes, but usually just hung out on a leaf on one of the fake plants that was in it. In this bowl/aquarium (I honestly don't know whether to call this a bowl or an aquarium) he is almost always swimming around, otherwise he is hanging out on his favorite leaf.
SUGGESTIONS:
-If you plan on putting a Betta or any other type of fish that is use to having little or no current, Try filling up the bowl to the lip. This will keep the current coming from the waterfall low and it also looks good. Not better or worse, but good
-If you find that your filter cartridge (Tetra Whisper Bio-Bag Cartridge small, 2-Pack) needs to be replaced, but you don't have any replacement cartridges on you at the moment: unplug the power cord; remove the "spent" filter cartridge; rinse it in the sink with the Cotton meshy side facing up, this will remove some of the gunk that prevents the water from flowing easily through it. The carbon bits that are in it will probably be spent so it won't remove chlorine or the fishy smell, but it is a good temporary fix that will keep large particles from floating around in the tank.. Stock up on filter cartridges to prevent this from ever needing to be done. I can only find them in packs of 2 on Amazon, but they are nice and cheap.
OVERALL: I am VERY pleased with my purchase and am now a fan of Tetra products. This is definitely a well-built/designed aquarium. I definitely recommend it to anybody and everybody. I will make a review video when I have to replace the first filter cartridge.
Oh and you don't have to worry about your fish being sucked into the impeller. It has a guard on it and even if it did, the water will still be crystal clear when you notice your fish is gone.
Also, the sculpture in the center of my aquarium is the Marina 12205 Betta Kit Marble Sculpture.I was a little leery of this fish bowl at first, after all, neatly designed things such as this usually end up being junk. However, I was very surprised when it arrived and I got it all set up. It is well made and seems to be good quality. I like the one electrical plug design, which was a selling feature for me. The filter and the LED lighting both work off of the same plug. The base is sturdy and has built in hand grips for easy moving. The filter housing and assembly snap off easily and go back on easily for cleanings, however, the carbon filter pad makes cleanings far less frequent. It also has the option to add a heater in it, for those looking to put tropical fish in it.
Overall the design and functionality is really good. I'm very happy with my purchase and my betta seems to be very happy in his new home. The only thing I will mention is that the glass bowl is thin, so cleaning it requires some extra attention and handling. However, overall, you will be very happy with this item.

This bowl sits in my office on my desk. Everyone comments on how beautiful it looks. The waterfall is very soothing. A classy display on the whole for a very good price. The size is excellent for my desk.My Betta fish seems very happy in it and has actually grown from the increase in the size of his environment. He was a bit afraid of the running water at first, but has adjusted nicely.
If I could change it at all, I would like to be able to turn off the waterfall, but still be able to keep the lights on. Since they are wired together, they are either both on or both off.
I would also like to see a thicker glass. It is not as heavy as the usual one gallon glass bowls. But, for the money, this is a fabulous buy. No regrets. When I ordered this set up I was very excited to receive it. I read all the reviews and took in everything that people commented on. When I got the bowl I noticed that it was in fact very thin and had a small bubble, this didn't bother me as it was expected. I made the mistake of not washing off the filter cartridge before I plugged in the tank and the water turned murky, once I took it out and washed it everything was fine. The waterfall is nice but it does splash water all over the place, I have the tank sitting on my dresser and had to put a cloth mat underneath it so it didn't warp my dresser. I don't think my fish really likes the waterfall either, he's always hiding from it so I only turn it on when I get home from work. This may differ from one fish to another. The first time I changed the water in the bowl I broke it. This was my mistake because I knew that the bowl was thin and I picked it up by the lip. Always pick up the bowl by the bottom and poor the water out or use a siphon to suck the water out. I was so bummed because I really like the set up so I immediately ordered another one because I couldn't find any replacement bowls online. Once I got the new set up I realized as I was reading the instructions that the replacement parts are listed on the instructions! OOPS!! Overall I give this aquarium three stars because I have had quite a few things go wrong but the look of the tank makes up for everything. The globe glass has already broken three times, each time I have fixed with glass sealant. I don't even move or remove the glass. Weekly maintenance was through a siphon. When the globe cracked, I had to rescue the fish very quickly in another bowl, all the water was on the floor. It was a disaster. I even bought another globe from home goods, but only this thickness of the globe can be purchased, otherwise the filter clip doesn't fit. Go with something with a better shape for peace of mind

It works and looks as intended. I'm not exactly sure of how it's tied in with Finding Nemo, because other than the packaging it doesn't have any Nemo charachters on it, however it's a great little fish tank decoration and it works perfectly. This was reasonably priced, which is why we ordered it, not necessarily for the movie tie-in.Read Best Reviews of Penn Plax Finding Nemo Action Aerating Resin Ornament, Treasure Chest Here

New Life Spectrum Cichlid Formula - 2270 g
No fillers here and the fish thrive on it.
Although I bought this for the Cichlid's, they've gotten too big for the small pellets. However, the Tiger Barbs love it.excellent food, the fish devour it in seconds, but my advice is if you have large fish, buy the 3mm is best for adult cichlids.

i use NLS for all my fish. makes all the colors pop and keeps them looking super healthy. doenst cloud the water, as long as you dont over feed them. anything will cloud the water if it sits there for awhile. i feed them enough food so that its all eaten within 30s. I have a 210g south/central american tank, 70g african tank, 20g african fry tank. wont use anything else but NLS.Read Best Reviews of New Life Spectrum Cichlid Formula - 2270 g Here
