These air stones are decent. Not great, not terrible. They don't seem to be constructed really well which concerned me initially but ended working okay. A few of the stones get more air toward the back of the stone (where the air comes in) and almost none toward the end. The ones that get even air distribution work great. I guess its a good deal for the price.

This does what the big 4-5 dollar stones u might find locally. I give it good ratings on oxygen amount, size, and price. A little brittle I dropped one barely and it quickly broke so their not as tough as ur large stones but they perform as well just require more care

Perfect-A-Strip Incandescent Light, Black, 12 1/2"

No surprises here, good for a 2 1/2g or a 5 1/2 gallon with a glass top. It has one socket, which I use a Compact Fluorescent (CF) bulb in to maximize efficiency and still provide good lighting. I am actually using this to supplement a Perfecto 20" Fluorescent strip, which by itself, barely provides enough light for a 10Gal with live plants.

Pros Works as it should

Cons Has an old-style small black turn switch, as opposed to a push button (like the other Perfecto lights), which can be annoying to use at times.

P.S. The description doesn't state, but this is a single bulb fixture

This tank light fits my 2.5 baby fry tank extremely well! I love it! I use the Aqueon brand "Colormax" color enhancing mini compact florescent (for saving power and better lighting) bulb ( 6"L; 10 watt lamp) and it works beautifully! The colors are extremely vibrant in the tank and I don't mind that it has a turn style black knob on the side. This also comes with a little strip "stand" thing (not sure what to call it" that's a few inches long (it that), to hold the light in place. Make sure you figure out where you want it before gluing it, and I guess I was too impatient for mine to let the adhesive (comes already on the "stand") completly set, so mine ended up sliding, but this won't happen if you let it set like the instructions say. haha! oops? ;)

I purchased a a smaller cage when I first got my canary (~16inches long) and noticed he could only hop and not fly from end to end. Now he can actually fly as well as hop. I am happy and so is he. A happy canary is a singing canary and so he does.

It came quickly and so easily to assemble.

What happened? I ordered this bird cage because I thought it was a good deal. Then I opened the box! The item was listed as new but the large plastic bottom of the cage, which was supposed to be PURPLE by the way, was very scratched up and the sticker on the front was even torn! I've added a Finnex Max-300 Heater Controller to my 75 Planted Aquarium after a new heater malfunctioned. The additional peace of mind is worth every penny of the $30 investment. I feel good knowing that if I have a heater stick, the Finnex Max-300 will be there protecting my aquarium. Considering we put significant amounts of money into our aquariums, what's another $30 to look over the safety our fish, shrimp, corals, and plants? The controller was easy to install and setup. It has been keeping track of my Reef tank temp without a problem. The only negative I can think of is that it does not display tenths of degrees. If it did that I would give it five stars.

Please, Please, Please do not put a turtle in this habitat. A turtle needs 10 gallons for every inch big that his shell is. Otherwise, their growth will be stunted and their shells will deform. Please buy a 10 gallon tank and a metal grate top. Your turtle needs both a heat lamp and a 5.0 UVB lamp in order to develop and thrive as well as a filter to keep water clean. They have to be able to bask and dry themselves or they can develop bacterial and fungal infections of the shell. Filters can be left out of the tank until they are bigger if you would prefer to do a daily water change rather than spend the money right away. These baby turtles are a 30-50 year commitment. Please raise them properly. Ask a local pet store if you have questions. If you find that your turtles are too much to handle, many pet stores will take them in for you. I've spent upwards of $200 dollars setting up my ten gallon tank with a filter, lights and basking dock. And it is worth it to watch them thrive and play every day.

This is not a suitable turtle habitat. Popular pet turtles, like Red Eared Sliders, require basking docks and light and a UVB bulb, not to mention 10 gallons per inch and powerful filtration. This would only work with modification and frequent water changes. Do not subject a living creature to this environment.

Between running the filter at night( turtle should not be in it at time), and scooping water out and replacing it daily, the water stays clean and odor free....considering I have a musk turtle..that is saying something. This is great sand for burrowing creatures, I was able to put this right into my water because it's in a new tank. This sand is very find, it's almost like silt or clay, so it's very messy at first. When you first add it, be careful of it clogging your filters, fans, and power heads. It will also take a couple days to settle. Once it does you'll need to clean your glass, but be careful not to stir up too much sand.

This item is listed as a 20 lb 2 pack, but it is not. You just get 20 lbs for the price. The sand itself is a great white color, with very fine smooth particles. VERY FINE. Seems like it would be great for sand sifters and things like that. It does say there are live bacteria in it, but I can't speak to that since I put the sand in my upgraded tank with my pre-cycled live rock.

New Life Spectrum Cichlid Formula - 600g

To give an idea as to the size of this 600g jar it stands about 8" tall and its roundness is about that of a softball. I have 18 young mbunas at 23" and this jar should last about 6 months with some flake and vegetables in their diet. These pellets are tiny 1mm is quite small but even with my sand substrate I know enough to keep them from getting a handful at a time and it is gone before I see any disappear into the sand. They love it and many many cichlid owners and breeders will swear by it.

It is really hard to judge the quality of fish food. I have been using this food now for about 6 weeks for my Lake Malawi Cichlids. I bought this on the recommendations of several in the cichlid forums and elsewhere.

The food seems good to me. My fish seem to really like it and are much more aggressive to get it than they were for the cichlid pellets that I used previously. The ingredients seem better to me and are probably healthier for my fish than what I was feeding. My previous food would cause some of my fish to sort of look like they had bloated bellies, and that has gone away with this food while still keeping the fish looking healthy. This product can be fed to large and small cichlids as they break up easily.

The price here on Amazon was really reasonable and it was a nice sized container (600g). It should last me a while and I have about 30 fish.

The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I was expecting (based upon comments from others) that the color of my fish would "pop" more with this food and that has not been the case. I would say that it did not make much difference at all in terms of the coloration of my fish. If there really was a change, I would say the coloration reduced, but I really do not see much difference if at all. My colorful males are still colorful. I hesitate even to say this because it is so hard to know what causes conditions in an aquarium. Overall I am happy with the purchase and will continue to use this product.

Just for reference, I have kept multiple aquariums for many years, but stopped for a few years as my kids were young and my time was limited. I am getting back into it recently, and getting sucked into the hobby again. It is fun. I will update if anything changes as I get more experience with this food.

I bought these for my 2.5gallon killifish tanks. These heaters take up very little space in the small tanks, since they are flat.

But be aware that these heaters don't have temperature controls, so the water temperature will change when the room temperature changes. My tank temperature ranged from 92F to 70F with the heater plugged in from May to December. I had to unplug the heaters on very hot days. It seems that these heater will raise the water temperature in a 2.5gallon thank by 8 to10F over the room temperature.

Finally, all 6 mini heaters that I own have been reliable for 8 months now, and all are consistent in how much they heat the same volume of water.

I purchased this heater for our beta who lives in a 1 gallon jar; note the heater is spec'd for 2 to 5 gallon containers. During the winter we keep our house at 60 degrees and this heater keeps the jar at a consistent 72.

This heater works well, not bad for small tanks (5 gallons or less). I purchased this for my 1 gallon tank, and it heated the water up to the low 80s. The heater works submerged or placed under the tank. I keep my apartment on the cool side, so this heater did the trick. A word of warning, though--if you have a 1-gallon tank, make sure you have a thermometer in it, because if you keep your home temperature in the high 60s and into the 70s, chances are the heater will then heat the water too warmly, into the mid to upper 80s, at which point you'll have to unplug the heater and monitor the temp as needed. Still, not bad for the price.

My betta fish's water was mostly in the 60-degree range, below a betta's ideal temperature (70-80F). As a result, the betta was very inactive. I bought this heater for a one-gallon bowl, and it increased the water temperature about 10 degrees. Now the betta is very active.

Even though the specs say it's designed for a 2-5 gallon tank, I'd still recommend it for a 1-gallon bowl. Just keep an eye on the ambient temperature because this heater does not have an automatic shutoff.

I purchased the Hydor Mini 7.5W Heater for my .9 gallon tank with my betta. Note that the heater is spec'd for a 2-5 gallon tank. Before he had to deal with 70 degree temperatures, which is not ideal and borderline too cold. Since putting the heater under the gravel in the tank, the tank is now constantly between 75-80 degrees, which is the normal temperature for a betta. I highly recommend this product to keep your betta longer and keep him more comfortably.

Waste of money. My tank water was not too bad to begin with, but I thought I would try this with some carbon for the extra polish, instead of buying more Seachem Purigen 250ml (which makes water crystal clear). What a waste of money! From day one this has done nothing to clear my water, in fact it made it worse. It makes my AquaClear power filter stink after a few days (it was not clogged), and after 3 weeks of no results I threw out the filter pad and am not looking back. I have way too much of this stuff left, sitting in the cabinet under my tank, collecting dust. If you can't afford or don't like Purigen, polyester pillow stuffing (a.k.a. "filter floss") works better than this. Would not recommend.

Another reviewer mentioned the muted colors. I too received colors in dark green, deep purples, and a few highlights of orange, turquoise and white. I really like the colors, but it is not the bright kid-like colors that are pictured. It will go well in a more elegant "grown up" tank. I'm very pleased with the design of it. The height is just under 6 inches tall, about 5 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches deep-which is smaller than the description. I received it within 3 days. Only 3 stars as it is not color or size as listed.

I got the Red Sea Hide-away based on the previous review. I initially thought the colors were annoyingly bright, but I liked the design of it. The previous reviewer said the colors were much darker. They prefer the bright colors in the pic, but I love the darker more adult colors of mine. The color scheme is the same as the previous reviewers. It's dark and absolutely beautiful, and I can't wait to put it in my tank!

So, if you like darker colors, you'll love it. If you want the bright colors pictured, don't get it!

There's nothing wrong with the manufacturing or quality the item seems well made and its structure is basically the same as shown in the picture. But the colors are nothing like what is shown. In reality, it is much darker, less kid-like. The "red" coral on the right is really a deep purple; the "yellow" smokestack looking things are really green; the "light blue" flower like things on the left are really a dark copper/burnt orange; the small "purple" flowers are blue and yellow; the "light purple" brain-like looking things at the bottom are blue and a little purple, but much darker than in the picture; the little "yellow" flowers are red. The remaining parts are a couple shades of deep, deep forest green.

It was for a 7 year old, so I am very disappointed.

I have a beautiful Moon-fin Betta in one of those Tetra Water Wonders 1.5 gallon tank kits. I had some small Greek ruins in there for a while but I wanted to give him a cave to hide in and feel safe. I looked everywhere for something that would look cool and fit in this small plastic tank. This is it!!! It looks so awesome! These complaints about the colors are rubbish. Yeah the colors are different than the photo but it's certainly not muted. Unless some people just received a bad batch of them, this coral cave ornament brightly glows with vibrant colors. Now my Betta swims right in and parks himself with his cute little head poking out like a moray eel! Highly recomended for small tanks and Bettas!!!

At first glance, the kit is very helpful, providing everything in one box (minus the fish): an aquarium, silk plant, filter, food, water conditioner, and even gravel. However, the filter is a pathetic excuse of machinery that doesn't do it's job. It doesn't come with an air pump so the fish will start going up for air and will probably die in a few hours of being placed in the habitat. The gravel is cheap plastic coated things that could do harm to the fish when the smaller pieces float up. So the only good thing about it is that it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye -if dead floating fish is fine with you.

I installed this on a foam-core metal door that leads to my unfinished basement. Installation took about an hour with a Dremel (and I left the door on the frame). The cats caught on quickly and it keeps the wet basement smell out of my house, while letting them retain access to their food and litter box. My only complaint is the magnet is a bit strong and my cats are small, so the door shuts on their tails frequently.

Cats are now 16 years old. We have been opening garage door for 16 years. wish we had bought this a while ago. I bought this at a friend's recommendation and it's been great. Used a sawzall to cut the hole and did a kind of a sloppy job, but the outer rim is wide enough to cover minor cutting errors.

One note is the door has a sliding lock mechanism. Fine if you have the door leading outside your home and want to control when the cat can leave. If you install it inside only, as I did, I suggest popping the lock off as the lock can engage and trap the cat if the step directly on it before pushing the flap.

After looking at many models and reviews I decided to pull the trigger on this one.

Pros:

The installation was fairly simple. As with most doors, its recommended you removed the door and you'll have to measure and balance so the cat door isn't crooked. The provided cutout was very helpful for tracing where to jigsaw (a decent jigsaw is essential). The door itself seems to be of good quality, especially considering the price. I like how snuggly it closes and how little air can come through. It took our cat several weeks to get use to the idea of using the door but with practice, patience, and persistence he learned to use it. The door also has one of the best visual designs I've seen (of course my door in question is white).

Cons:

The lock button/mechanism is OK but not great. It feels a little cheap and awkward at times but it still functions appropriately. Unfortunately, this model can only be locked or unlocked. Many doors have 4-way locking that allows the cat in but not out. Was this as big as deal as I thought? Not really. When I want the cat to go down he follows or I put him inside. When I want to get him out I unlock the door. The only other thing I would change is I would flip the design or be able to lock from either side. The side that is more flush with the door (the better looking side) doesn't have access to the lock. Being a visually picky person I put the door on 'backwards' and it works fine.

Overall:

Would I pick this door again? Yes, so far so good.
