It fits perfectly on my tank. Note the dimensions carefully. The light fixture is easily replaced and has a glass cover protecting it from water splashes. The backs are easily broken off for power filters.

This is a good product , its pretty simple to take the backs off for filters and the light recess comes off with a snap for easy bulb changes. My only beef is that it didnt come with bulbs (often the most expensive pary of a hood ) Oh well they were pretty cheep , id def buy again for a freshwater tank.

hood did not fit my tank. It was NOT 12" wide by 24" long as advertised. The hood was 11-1/2" wide by 23-1/2" long. I returned the hood for refund, but shipping was 1/2 the refund. I should have kept it and added plastic trim to make it fit.

Alright so I originally had placed this order for my dog because our cat has the same collar and well we wanted them to match. I placed the order on October 28, 2012 it was stated to have been shipped on 11/01/2012. Which is fine the only thing I was really irritated about was that I wasn't provided a tracking number after placing the order especially when it said the estimated delivery time was from 11/02-11/20. So I had to contact the seller in order to get a tracking number after about 6 days had passed and I still hadn't received my package. It did finally arrive on 11/13. Aside from this we really do love the collar. Our dog is a black and white lab mix and the collar makes it very easy to see her at night. We can take comfort that if the animals do somehow get out with these collars they would be easy to spot.

My dog has a 17" neck, so I ordered the 18-26" collar since they say you are supposed to add 2" to the measurement. It's really too big, even when tightened almost all the way. Thankfully she is not a puller but if she were, she would be able to back out of this thing easily.

I also wish there were another D-ring to hang her tags upon.

That being said, it's a nice sturdy collar, with a durable quick-release latch, and it is definitely reflective (as in you'd better remove it to take a picture of your dog!).

I can't say much about it from a dog's point of view, but mine seems to be quite attached to it since she gets all shy and mopey when we take it off of her!

I recommend if you have well water to be prepared to scrub it weekly and if you can, do not use well water at all. It is quieter than the fish tank in my house. It does need to be plugged into a wall which can often be inconvenient but well worth it. The only thing I would like is a stronger filter so it pulls more water from the bowl & cleans it better. I feel like stuff will get stuck in the bowl & not cleaned but if you don't have animals that track a lot of dirt & stuff around it's no problem. I really like undergravel filters for filtration. It's old school tech and if you go with some plants, it will fertilize them. I've had systems setup where I didn't have to change water for 6 months because of the balance between plants and the filter. Just topping off. Just beware of some of the colored gravel. I bought some from petco that broke down in 2 months and mass killed all the fish in my tank. I've got the filter in another tank with different gravel and it's working fine.

This is the exact same Penn Plax plates I used about 20 years ago. Very little changes have been made over the years... :) They STILL have the same issue with holding the plates together, at least long enough to get them into the bottom of the aquarium. Penn Plex COULD do a little more design work on the molds to fix this problem.....this of course will NEVER HAPPEN.

One outlet of my Maxima A-805 dual outlet pump quit working a couple of years ago, but I kept it as a spare, hoping someday to be able to repair it. I'm glad I found this repair kit on Amazon. Pet shops in my area don't sell parts for pumps anymore. This kit has everything you need to fix the Optima/Maxima pumps listed. Some of the parts included in the kit are really small (1/16"), so if you get this kit, open it carefully. It took me about 45 minutes to fix my pump and it now works like new.

This kit restored my old air pump.

It was some work to install not difficult but a little time consuming.

This is the best one gallon aquarium I have ever owned. And I have owned many. It is very light because it's acrylic and is also easy to clean. The led lights are powered by electricity with an adaptor that is included. This way you don't run off batteries to operate the led lights. These led lights show off the glow fish better than the professional aquariums at the store. The glow fish light up so much they look like they have florescent bulbs inside their bodies. Matter of fact, I am ordering a second globe bowl led light aquarium for another room. The bowl is clear, not black. I'm not sure why it is shown as a black fish bowl.

WARNING: UPDATE: 3 WEEKS LATER:

I have purchased in total, three of these aquariums. And All three aquariums within 3 weeks have clouded up permanently on the inside of the bowl, beginning at the water line, and spreading through out the bowl. I am unable to view the fish when they swim at the upper level of the bowl. I only rinse the bowl out with warm water. No abrasives are used in cleaning the acrylic. I can actually feel the coating of the acrylic on the inside of the bowl has deteriorated where it is cloudy. I do not recommend this bowl at all.

There are 4 or 5 different light settings for this fishbowl, and I normally only use the LED white light. I put my betta in here, and he loves it! It's much larger than his old bowl and so far I've had no problems with it. It's easy to clean, easy to assemble and it really looks nice.

I'm not sure if it says anywhere on here, but this bowl is plastic. I was hoping for glass, but it's much lighter to carry with water in it, and still looks nice.

I wanted a bowl for my betta fish that had a light and a lid, but no filter. This one was perfect! I only turn the light on once every other day, but after a couple of months, the "first" light the white one burned out. The others are still working fine, though. I love that there is a small hole for feeding my fish, but enough protection on top of the bowl so that my kitties can't get in it. I also like that it's lightweight for carrying, yet not too flimsy. Very pleased with this!!

EDITED::::: I have to change this review because I've owned the 1.5 gallon version of this exact bowl since this past summer. Although my betta was happy in this bowl, it did not last more than 6 months. Despite being easy to maintain and easy to clean, the bowl itself is plastic. About 3 weeks ago I noticed the plastic started to become cloudy. I thought it was just algae so I emptied and cleaned it but could not scrub it clear again. It got worse over the following weeks despite water changes and today I took it and emptied it again and tried cleaning with a variety of things to make it clear again white vinegar, a baking soda paste, rubbing alcohol none of that worked. The bowl is so cloudy that you can barely see through it anymore. I've also noticed in the last week that the green bulbs have burned out, limiting my lighting options. For a bowl that is only 6 months old this is a very short life span. I had said that if my bulbs burned out I'd just purchase another bowl, but instead I picked up a nice, 1.75 gallon GLASS fish bowl at the pet store. Luckily the opening of that bowl will fit this lid so I'm keeping the lid until the rest of the bulbs burn out and then I'm going to purchase a clip on LED light. I'm done with these kits. Not worth it.

I own the 1.5 gallon version of this exact bowl. I had my beta in a larger full service tank, but it was just too much upkeep and he didn't seem to like it all that much. I bought this one and he's been living in it for about 5 months now and seems as happy as can be. It's easy to maintain and easy to clean. The bowl itself is plastic and I was afraid it would scratch or stain, but it's still as clear as the day I got it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the lid doesn't give room to put anything with a cord down inside, because there is no room for the cord through the lid. I had my beta in there with no heater, which he had in his tank, and he didn't move for weeks. So one day I got out my power drill and created a little opening in the lid for the cord to my underwater heater, and it has made a huge difference. Now he swims around and is a whole lot more active. So if you're going to use this bowl for a beta, I definitely recommend you get a little creative and find a way to get a heater in there. The lights are my favorite part of this bowl. It illuminates the bowl and my beta's fins so nicely, it's a really nice eye catcher and visitors are always commenting on my cool little beta bowl. I worry that the lights will burn out one day and I won't be able to find replacements, but I like the bowl enough that I will probably just purchase another in that case.

I have had this for about a month and it is just perfect on my nightstand. I do have it sitting on a couple of my favorite books so I can see into it better. I watch my little beta every night! The plastic has not gotten cloudy like someone else said, but I figure if it does, I can find a glass bowl that will fit the top. It works for me!

Red Sea Fish Pharm ARE50203 C-Skim 1800 Advanced Protein Skimmer for Aquarium

This skimmer produces lots of microbubbles and great skim. The physical size is a bit larger than I had hoped, but it is understandable for the tank rating on the skimmer.

I did notice that if you restrict the airflow with the built-in valve, the aspiration pump gets extremely noisy. That said, don't try and run this skimmer with much more than a 450 gph pump. Any more and you will start to have water in your skimmer cup (this is not good) even if you have the return completely unrestricted. A 400-450 gph pump is recommended by the manufacturer.

For anyone who is concerned about leaks on with the aspiration pump, I have had none. I'll bet anyone who has failed to install the o-ring with the pump. (It is in a separate baggie with the pump)

I love the features automatic neck cleaner and the ability to remove the skimmer cup without shutting down the main pump. I always hated having to unplug my skimmer pump just to empty the cup.

All in all, it does what it is supposed to, but the aspiration pump is a bit louder than I had hoped for. If you are trying to make your setup as quiet as possible, this is not the skimmer for you. I will be putting my aspiration pump on a timer to get around the noise issue.

I have been in reef aquaria keeping for some time (20+ years) and have owned several skimmers. Each has its own needs as far as water input, cleaning and foam production levels inside the skimmer to be effective at skimming dissolved solids from your aquarium. But few are so simple as to plug the unit in connect two hoses and in few hours have a quality foam head.

I found the Red Sea 1800 skimmer worked perfectly from the moment I plugged it in and produced a foam head as good as reef octopus or ASM skimmers and far better than Aqua C or Beckett skimmers (note: Older tech which were great in there day) which require a large GPH pump to drive the unit for foam production.

Some of the items on the unit like the neck wash are a good idea but you will find they will not work well if your foam production is good. The neck will fill with so much waste material that it will cake the sides of the skimmer neck and it will not wash off easily depending on the height you set your foam head at. But the option to divert the water when you wish to remove the cup is very good and very useful.

Here is a breakdown of the pros and cons of this unit

Pros -

1. Exceptional foam production from the internal recirculation pump due to good air to water ratio

2. The need to purchase a large supply pump is not needed for the unit. You could supply the unit with less than the recommended supply and it will just spend more time in the unit getting skimmed more.

3. Unit is not hard to break down for cleaning

4. Very large collection cup. Even with a large amount of waist the cup will go 3-4 days before it fills on medium wet/dry foam. Also the cup is very easy to remove and secure back in place

5. Can be used in sump or external

Cons -

1. Unit is rather big, won't fit in small sumps. Just a thought here you could always build a container supplied by the overflow as an intermediate sump to contain the skimmer. This would always keep the skimmer level the same even when evaporation has lowered your true sump. But it might not look good depending how your setup is. I did this and also placed my GFO and Bio pellet unit inside.

2. Unit has a very small neck so if your water source level is in constant flux due to evaporation you may have issues keeping the foam head at the level you want.

3. Cleaning neck process is a good thought but does not work well in real life.

4. I thought the connection to the intake could have been a little better. I took the screw on connection off and placed a hose clamp on. You don't want this to come off or your whole tank could be on the floor.

5. Even if used in sump it will take another pump to supply water that is not supplied with the unit. This is an extra expense that some units that are comparable in skimming do not need but would be required on all recirculation skimmers whoever you buy from

6. Although I love the unit I would not feel comfortable running it on a 450 gallon aquarium no matter what it is stocked with. It just can't process enough water no matter what they say.

To finish I can't comment on Red Sea customer service but I can't see much need to contact them. A skimmer like this has only a few items that would go bad and all those parts are available from online web dealers. It's built solid and could probably take some abuse. The cons here were small issues that should be noted before purchase. On a regular size tank under say 250 gallons this unit should work well but is a little pricey since it needs another pump to run. If you can find it at a discount I would say absolutely buy but for the full asking price it's a stretch.

Ten Pond Pellets Fish Food

We have had Koi for nearly 10 years and have always used Wardley's Pond TEN Pellets. We have healthy fish who like to BREED! Have generated over 150 offspring so far. So they must be happy! We like the food for convenience and also for the non-clouding trait. We have double ponds with waterfalls and many plants. Be sure to keep the salt content correct, or the fish can get diseases. We have only lost one in all these years. Plain, non-iodized salt from the store works fine. Buy a salt testing kit and use the amount called for when there are plants in the water. I had been careless and one of our original females had some odd looking spots on her, but when I adjusted the salt, they went away. All this is to say that the food is important to be well balanced and the proper nutrition so that the fish heal well too. We won't use anything else!

and loves it, and it's not messy in the water, does not change the color of the water.

Have a large reef tank. Have tried almost every scraper that has come along and keep coming back to this one as it is the only one I have found that removes all of the different types of algae

I maintain aquariums for a living. What that means is I clean the aquariums as well as maintain all the additives and check the levels and control what fish go in their etc. I use alot of tools on reef tanks (salinity refractometers, tds meters, gravel vacs, kent rods, test kits, etc. This mag float scraper is by far the best tool I use. It gets 100% of algae off the glass (yes even coralline algae) and doesn't scratch. I know it's pricey but this is super high quality and will seriously last you forever. They sell replacement scrapers in two packs for around $10 and everything on it is repairable if damaged. A great investment. Oh and mine was handed down from the guy befrore me it's about 5 or so years old and it works awesome.

TetraPond Algae Control Pond Algae Remover

Product description says that it is safe for fish and plants. Didn't mention that it was not safe for snails. When I tried to return it, it was a nightmare. The e-mail from Petco said that I could return it to a store or mail it. I called Petco and got my return slip. I was told by Petco that I could get a refund at the store. The store told me that I could only get a gift card because I bought it on Amazon. They say that it is their written policy but I cannot find that policy. Now they say that if I mail it back, I can get a refund. I do not believe anything that Petco tells me. Please don't by Petco products on Amazon. This is no fun at all. While this pad has good filtering qualities, it seems to get clogged quickly. May need to go to the Fluval U3 fliter and pads.

At first glance, the kit is very helpful, providing everything in one box (minus the fish): an aquarium, silk plant, filter, food, water conditioner, and even gravel. However, the filter is a pathetic excuse of machinery that doesn't do it's job. It doesn't come with an air pump so the fish will start going up for air and will probably die in a few hours of being placed in the habitat. The gravel is cheap plastic coated things that could do harm to the fish when the smaller pieces float up. So the only good thing about it is that it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye -if dead floating fish is fine with you.

Exo Terra Glass Turtle Terrarium

This is a nice, attractive turtle terrarium. It does not have the black border at the top that most terrariums and aquariums have and is higher at the back and slopes down in the front to allow for better viewing and making it more attractive. Keep in mind that due to the sloping top, it would be impossible to put any lid on the top so it would not be suitable for frogs or any reptiles that can jump or climb out of the open top.

I received this product shattered. What I am extremely confused about if Amazon shipped the item. I arrived home to find this aquarium sitting on my front porch in its original packaging (i.e. as if I walked in the store and pulled it off the shelf). How can they expect it to make it to me in one piece if they didn't reinforced the bottoms and sides with bubble wrap. Needless to say I am happy that I received a refund because I would have needed a much larger tank. I would recommend this tank for anyone who has hatchlings, but anything bigger would be cruel to the turtle. I suspect it won't hold more than 10 gallons (comfortably) and that would be the recommended amount for a turtle with a 1 inch shell (hatchling). I received my refund and purchased a 40 gallon tank from a local pet shop.

PLEASE remember your turtle requires 10 gallons of water for every inch of its shell. I.e. 4 inch shell requires a 40 gallon tank.

NOTE---Amazon was fantastic in their customer service in resolving my issue of receiving a broken item.

I ordered this product 4 times and I never actually received it. Why? It was damaged so badly in transit It never made it to my house. The last time I had ordered it, I actually went to pick it up at UPS, and when I opened the box there, the tank was shattered. The packing is horrible. Just 4 tiny pieces of Styrofoam at every corner. No wonder it broke every single time. When I saw the tank, it was really nice, just as it is described. It has a nice shape to it, and the angled cut glass is beautiful. But again, order at your own risk. I ended up getting a full refund and purchasing another tank at a local pet store. I was a little afraid when this was first purchased because there was a few reviews of it arriving broken, but when I got it, it was in perfect condition (plus bigger than I thought) and might I add loaded with so much bubble wrap i practically filled my trash can with the stuff. I bought this for my 2 red eared sliders and unlike others, I love the lowered front edge, i think it makes it more inviting than a normal fish aquarium, plus its a nice square instead of the classic rectangle shape that the turtles could really only go side to side in. I do think however that its inappropriately called a terrarium when its made to hold water.

Ethical Contempo Vena Food and Treat Dispenser for Cats

This cat treat dispenser does what it is supposed to do. The cats toss it around and treats fall out, just a couple at a time. The kitten has the patience to play with it. The one-year-old Siamese tries to bite it then gives up. He waits for the little one to get the treats out and then he eats them. But I thought they should have sent all three (as shown) for the price.

SeaClear Bowfront Aquarium Combo

I purchased this combo directly through PetCo. The tank looks awesome set up and is very sturdy and easy to clean. The hood for it however is not well made and the light bulb slips out easily when light is picked up to feed or clean the tank. I have an Oscar that regularly hits the top of the tank and hood and knocks it so the light bulb itself slides out and goes off. The screws don't tighten enough to hold the bulb in and the bulb itself doesn't lock in place like most fluorescent tank bulbs. I ended up getting a separate light strip to use and that works well.
