Comfort Carrier Blue Small by Bergan

Comfort Carrier Blue Small by BerganThis is an attractive carrier, but the primary zipper completely broke down after only 10 or 12 uses. While there are many nice features about this carrier, I wouldn't recommend it if you need to transport a pet that may try to escape, since the zipper seems to be of low quality and not durable. We had to duct tape the opening shut the last time we used the carrier, but will need to buy a new one soon.

Bought the small carrier for my son's rabbit (a relatively small rabbit, around 5 pounds). It fit the rabbit well, and would also be a good size for a very small dog or small cat. Nice padded bottom, high quality vinyl, and good ventilation, but I'll get another brand, as I can't afford to keep buying new carriers every few months.

Underwater Galleries AUG6753 10-Pack Big Rock Box

Underwater Galleries AUG6753 10-Pack Big Rock BoxAs the title states these may be grey market as 2 of the stones looked like they had been glued back together after breaking. There are large cracks in them but the pieces appear to be solid still and there is not any glue visible so I am not sure if this standard for the cichlid stones or possibly a box that was returned and refurbed. Overall the package was in very good shape and they put the extra effort in to make sure it got to me intact. Mine were delivered from Big Al's and they were prompt in getting the package to me.

The openings of the rocks vary from 2"-5" which was one of my main concerns before ordering as I could not find very much information online about it. I am using these for Aulonocara Kandeense (small african peacock aka "Blue orchid") and the openings are a great size for them and I would venture to say even larger fish will fit in the openings.

I let them soak in the sink in hot water (added dechlorinator) for a few hours. Then put them in my tank. My fish immediately took to them and they love the new hiding places!

My fish love the hiding spaces that these cichlid stones provide. They are also an attractive decoration and a less expensive alternative to making caves with real stones.

For my 120 gallon tank with Lake Malawi Cichlids between 3-6 inches these stones are perfect!

They look like real rock. Very light. No danger of them falling & cracking the glass bottom of the tank.

The fish love them. The tank looks great. Have ordered another set.

Want Underwater Galleries AUG6753 10-Pack Big Rock Box Discount?

I bought these rocks in the hopes that my semi agressive fish would have a safe place to hang during the day and at night.

I ordered the 10 Pack Big Rock Box which arrived within a large box where inside each piece was individually packaged with bubble wrap and a smaller boxed. The quality of the rocks was top notch, I was not expecting them to be as nice as they were. They are heavy enough to stay where you put them (no floating) and they have enough texture to them that they stack well without slipping or falling.

Fish took to them in about 2 days.

I have had them in my tank for about a month and even though they looked pretty real with I pulled them out of the box, they look even more real now as they have acclimated to the environment. With the exception of having a hole in them giving it away that they are man made, they look very real.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase

Reef Care NO3:PO4-X Nitrate and Phosphate Reducer - 16.9 oz.

Reef Care NO3:PO4-X Nitrate and Phosphate Reducer - 16.9 oz.Read the reviews and thats why got this product, had hi nitrate in my 60 gal cube saltwater tank.

I also read the instructions, were found a bit confusing, I dropped 3 ml pretty close to the powerhead to diffuse the solution. But did nothing with the nitrate levels.

The second day dropped 10 ml.(11am) and left for work... Came home around 5 pm and all the fishes were DEAD. 2 clowfishes, a blue and yellow tang, a goby and 3 cleaner shrimps... :( took a water sample and went with my LFS, he tested and said the amonia levels were 0, nitrite levels were extremely HIGH and nitrate levels were still high, but because the nitrite is very toxic, that was the cause of the dead.

Changed 50% of the water and waited a week to get a new fish. Now that I got everything again, I wont put that solution again in my tank.

I know, you might say, that is because might had put a lot on it, but the instructions were not clean at all.

So be careful

I gave this 5 stars as it far exceeded my expectations.

Instructions are easy to understand, important is to know your tanks water volume, including sump.

I started to see algae deminism within a few days and completely gone within a week.

Combine this with a different feeding regiment and your tank looks like the ones in the magazines.

The process is biological, not chemical, something I liked too.

Buy Reef Care NO3:PO4-X Nitrate and Phosphate Reducer - 16.9 oz. Now

After a long battle to reduce organic waste that was feeding algae blooms of all sorts on my reef aquarium I found this amazing product, within days my nitrates came down to 0 ppm! Algae is gone now and my corals are looking simply beautiful. The product should me used in conjunction with Reef Energy A and Reef Energy B to provide nourishment for your corals and a good efficient skimmer. In my case I started with the recommended dose but since then I have come down to 1/4 and still I think it's more than enough. My advice is to start slow, 1/4 for a week and then measure your nitrates , adjust your dose accordingly in small weekly increments, reefs don't react nicely to sudden changes!

Coral Sun Bulb for Aquariums

Zoo Med Coral Sun Actinic 420 Coral Bulb T8 17 Watts, 24-Inchif you own i fixture for these bulbs, then you know they just aren't that bright. so don't expect these to make your hard corals to grow. it's not the bulb, you just need more power, or a t5.

Exactly what i ordered and it came in great condition. It looks so good in my tank. makes everything beautiful blue.

Buy Coral Sun Bulb for Aquariums Now

I have a 120-gallon freshwater aquarium with a few large shubunkins and a mix of artificial and live plants. The aquarium was lit by a pair of 24" 8000k fluorescents in separate 30" hoods, set end-to-end over the length of the 5-foot long tank. I purchased a pair of these ZooMed Coral Sun Actinic bulbs primarily to provide some supplemental lighting for the plants. I installed them in an additional pair of 30" hoods. The addition of the blue light output from the ZooMed bulbs to the existing 8000K fluorescents, really made a difference in the overall color balance. The gravel and plants took on a more natural, less yellowish look and the colors of the fish were also enhanced. So, in addition to helping the plants, the aesthetics were much improved as well. In the evening, I shut down the 8000K bulbs and just leave the actinics on for awhile before turning everything off for the night. The ZooMed actinics provide a cool moonlight effect when used by themselves. Great product and highly recommended for my application.

Finnex Resin 3-Piece Driftwood Replica for Aquarium, Small

Finnex Resin 3-Piece Driftwood Replica for Aquarium, Smallit is made of plastic and seems cheaply made

the thing i like least about it is the small frog and stuff on them i wanted it to look more realistic and these look very fake

I wasn't 100% sure how big they would be as they were listed as small but they are a nice size for a 3pc set. I added them to a 29 gallon aquarium and the size works nice as a floor ground piece. The colors are nice and they look realistic. The only thing I dislike about them are the little green frogs that are on 2 of the pieces.

CREE LED 72 watt DIMMABLE Reef Aquarium light Model XPG R5/XPE = 250MH

CREE LED 72 watt DIMMABLE Reef Aquarium light Model XPG R5/XPE = 250MHThis is a well made light that has been working in my aquarium for 2 months. It is strong enough that I can see bubbles of O2 float up from my desired algae (from photosynthesis) I have not gotten any photosynthetic corals yet but I expect good results. Also the light comes well packaged and quickly.

Tank description

10 gal saltwater

12lbs live rock

3-4 inch sand bed with 10lbs of live sand mixed with 20lbs of play sand

leather coral

just added cleanup crew (sails, emerald/hermit crabs, peppermint shrimp)

about to add midas blenny and photosynthetic corals

Update: added frogspawn, torch and plate corals all doing very well, I also have a maxima clam who is also doing very well. this is a very good light. do not be afraid to put a strong light on your tank due to algae growth algae can only grow to the point of absorbing all the nitrates if you maintain the tank well and have a strong cleaning crew algae will not be a problem

I purchased this for a 24 gallon jbj nano cube. I didnt want something that would break the bank but I also wanted a fixture that was dimmable and this one fit the bill.

Well my first fixture had 2 led's that were off in color so after contacting the seller they sent me a return label and I was able to return it and a little while longer I received my replacement.

All the led's were good to go in the replacement but the case was a little bit different than my first fixture. The first fixture had nice rounded edges and looked like it was pretty well put together.

The replacement didnt look like it was put together as nicely but hey at least it was going to get the job done. The whole process of returning the old fixture and getting the new one took about 2 months so that stunk. Overall I'm happy with the led fixture. I've owned the tao tronics or however you say it and those were nice too. If I had the choice of going with this fixture again or saving up and getting something better, I would probably save up and go with something better. I do feel like you get what you pay for in this hobby. Although you may not need to spend $600 on led's that will get the job done, I would have gone with something a little higher end such as AI SOL's or something comparable. Anywho I hope you find this somewhat helpful.

Thanks!

Tetra Pond Tubing

Tetra Pond Tubing, Corrugated, 1 Inch x 20 FeetI received 1 inch tubing twice from Amazon (original order and a replacement). The tubing is only 1 inch ID and is incorrectly labelled as 1 1/4 inch ID.

Update after using for 18 months: This product works well at first then can develop pin-hole leaks in random places. It's easy to work with due to its high flexibility but difficult to seal with clamps due to the spiral reinforcement. That said, with enough fiddling you can cure the clamping problem but no amount of tweaking can stop the leaks from developing. I kept cutting out leaking parts but now I'll replace with vinyl tubing. I gave this product 5 stars 18 months ago and it's fine if you don't mind the constant maintenance. This is the exact same brand-name product you can buy in a store--same quality but about half the price at good old Amazon.

Flexibility is key for this product along with price. Both offer an excellent value, pleased with my purchase. Thank you!

1.1' Diameter Ball Shape Gray Air Bubble Release Stone for Aquarium Fish TankI have two 55 gallon fish tanks and needed more air pump in my fish water, but don't like air stripes or air walls. The air ball is perfect and will not need suction cups to hold it down because it has good weight.

Got this product and one ended up with the tip broken off they should pack these all in bubblewrap standards to prevent post office/handler abuse. Other then that they work fine and produce tons off bubbles for my reservoir!..i got 4 out of 5..tips are a little too ease to break off so handle with care..

TOM Reptile Habitat Repti-Clean Submersible Filter low water application 40gph

TOM Reptile Habitat Repti-Clean Submersible Filter low water application 40gphThis filter does a good job cleaning and aerrating the water in my turtle tank...however, I have to relocate my turtle when I run the filter...it causes a whirlpool effect and the poor thing is pushed around in a circle swimming for its life. Was hoping it could be run with the turtle in it but not possible. I now remove the turtle to a different receptacle for the night while the filter runs. This is working out..but not as convenient as I was expecting. But I do recommend it if you have the turtle swamp cause it does do a good job when it is on. Vendor was very prompt in sending product and it arrived in fine shape....easy to operate as well.

I bought one of these filters more than 7 years ago to use in a community tank with small fish, frogs and a toad, and it is still running strong. What I really like is that the filter base opens easily and all sorts of media can be used as needed -from bio to mechanical, to ammo-block and charcoal. The original impeller is still in this unit and shows very little wear to this day, and it's been operating 24/7 since I got it (excepting down time, of course, to clean it and replace filter media). No other filter has worked this well for so long.

I bought this filter to keep my terrarium's water bowl clean since I usually try to keep a couple gold fish in their in case my water dragons get hungry. This bowl holds approximate 1-1.5 gallons of water and is about 2.5 inches deep and has river rocks on the bottom. My first dissapointment was that the filter did not come with any sort of instructions. Then when I put it into the bowl I found the results simply disappointing. It did not keep the water any cleaner than putting a sponge on the end of an air hose. I reccomend to anyone who is considering purchasing this filter DON'T.

Want TOM Reptile Habitat Repti-Clean Submersible Filter low water application 40gph Discount?

I used it in the Tom's Swamp for a couple of quarter size hatchlings. I never planned on it being a long term use filter by any means but it couldn't even handle the swamp which it was made for. I still have extra filter refills but I don't ever plan on using this again. Waste of money.

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 300-Watt

Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 300-WattI got this heater around Jan. 20th 2012 and put it in a 46g bow front tank. The tank sits within 7ft of the house thermostat and I like to keep our house temp about 66-68 degrees in the winter and 72 to 74 degrees in the summer, I live in Virginia and I like it cold. The 300 watt is probably over-kill but I intended to move my fish to a 75g, so I never even put substrate in or much in the way of decorations. There is also an airstone in front of the heater so it gets completely un-impeded water flow. The water level sits about 3-4 inches above the fully submersed heater.

The cord is round and flexible un-like a lot of submersible cords but it's only 5-6ft long. Since my plug is directly behind the tank, this is just perfect and still leaves a nice safety loop hang for me. The heater itself is about 15 or 16 inches long (I put a ruler on the outside of the tank an made an estimate) and the bottom is covered with a rubber cage, which again was fortunate since I had no gravel and the suction cups eventually lost their hold... or I may not have bothered w/ them too much b/c I just put the heater in a vertical position to begin with. Knowing how I am, I probably read EVERY single word on the directions...twice, and followed instructions precisely on how to set it up. When I first set it up during our unusually warm winter, I would notice the LCD temp. reading drop to 75 and shortly after I would see the orange light come on telling me it was heating, and back to my set temp. of 76 it would go, in other words, it worked perfectly! It's mid Sept. now, my poor fish are still living in the 46g b/c I have not had the time to build the rock wall for my other tank yet, but honestly, I don't think I have seen the temp. reading change from 76 degrees since this spring. I've double checked the temp. with a reliable digital thermometer throughout the year and they both read 76 degrees. Really the only con so far has been the suction cups, including the one on the probe, certainly not a deal breaker. Hopefully it will continue to do well this winter and maybe I'll be able to move it to the 75g and report back. I have 3 other tanks that could use a new heater since all of them heat the the water to 80 or so degrees even though the dial is as low as it can go, 3 different brands too.

UPDATE: Feb. 2013, the heater is no longer heating, just a giant thermometer now. I've never had a heater stop heating, usually they start over heating and cook the fish so even though it no longer works, at least it didn't kill my fish. The visible thermometer let me know the water was too cold & something wasn't right. I've bought some pretty cheap heaters in the past but they all lasted longer than a year. It seemed like a really well built heater but just didn't last unfortunately. I got a Fluval E around the same time for a different tank and that's been doing great so far so may try that one again.

I actually liked the overall design of this heater and the fact that it had the LED display on the unit itself. So, I went ahead and purchased it. It took less than 3 weeks for it to fail miserably. It switched on to heat mode and never shut off! Tried unplugging it, dialing down the temperature, and even letting it sit for a while, all to no avail. I have a pretty hefty investment in my tank and I got lucky in that I was able to catch the problem before it killed all of my fish. Don't want a replacement for it. Not interested in trading junk for junk. Pulled it out and bought a Fluval. Will try to get my money back. If you are reading this, think hard and long before wasting your money and jeopardizing your investment on this "product". Lesson learned here... READ THE REVIEWS before you invest your hard earned money!

Buy Finnex Digital Temperature Control Glass Heater, 300-Watt Now

I initially loved this heater because of the LEDs & being able to know the temp from across the room, so much that I bought 3 over a 2 month period. Now I'm severely regretting it because the LED readout is going out on the oldest one. It is set for 84 degrees (discus tank) and reads as if it was set for 6u.

I will not buy another Finnex product & refuse to pay the shipping for a replacement that may start going out in 3 months too. I just bought 3 Eheim Jager heaters to replace them & will buy a separate LED thermometer to use in unison with the "classic" glass thermometer I have in each tank.

Heater looks great, nice digital display. Heated my 48 degree water yo 75 in one day. Next day it was 81 and the display was out. Thinking it might have to reset I unplugged it and tried again the next day. The display did not come on when I hit the thermostat button. Instead there were sparks and arcs inside the glass tube and then it exploded. The glass cracked and my house filled with acrid smoke and ozone. Could be just a fluke and I would have tried another one but that wasn't an option, credit my card only.

Acriflavine-MS 16 oz

Acriflavine-MS 16 ozGreat product to clear up shell rot without a lot of work. It does make a huge mess though. Everything turns yellow. It's been weeks and the water is still yellow with several partial water changes. I don't think it stains though as it has come out of everything like the hose and the bucket. My turtle is healthy again! I wish they sold this at a local pet store. I'm fine with internet ordering, but this didn't have a Prime option, so I had to wait a few days. Normally not a big deal, but with a sick turtle, I wanted it immediately.

This bottle is larger than you are ever going to need unless you are very unlucky with fish, turtles, and other things aquatic. It hasn't really solved our particular problem (turtle hatchlings with scraped up arm pits... long story) but it isn't really advertised for this particular purpose it was recommended by a water turtle web site.

Anyhoo... I suppose I should say "I love it" but how can you love a medicine that has been in use for weeks while one's little guys and gals get Slowly better and there's no way to tell how much it is contributing? Not an instant fix, not allowing things to get worse, maybe holding off infection while they heal in their own slow way... I'd buy more if there were more scrapes... Except this bottle will last forever. Sixteen ounces is a lot given how little one uses, and the price is therefor cheap.

I've lost so many fish to Columnaris Flexibacter over the years (virulent disease that affect my goldfish during winter-to-spring when their immune system is low). Marina Deluxe Algae Magnet Cleaner

Marina Deluxe Algae Magnet Cleaner, SmallGot this for a hexagonal tank, works well, and easily shifts between glass panels. It has a floating device to hep you if you lose it in the tank so you dont have to reach your hand in which is really convenient. It allows you to clean below the gravel line due to the shape of the cleaner. We got the small one, and its good for our 30 gallon tank. I might suggest a larger one though as the small is only about 3 or 4 inches.

Well I came here to write that the cleaner I received looks absolutely nothing like the product picture but they've apparently changed the picture in the past couple of days!

In my experience the rectangular scrapers seem to work better, this one is a little weird the way it's shaped but it works fine on my 125g reef tank, even on the tougher algae .

Buy Marina Deluxe Algae Magnet Cleaner Now

The cleaner I received was not even close to the one pictured. And the only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the one I did get works better for my needs. The inside scrubber is diamond shaped, allowing me to get into corners. It is a very strong magnet, it works well on my tank with 3/8" thick glass. Never the less, they should update the picture for a sure 5 stars.

Read Best Reviews of Marina Deluxe Algae Magnet Cleaner Here

The velcro material isn't sufficient to wipe away algae. It's good for scratching, not wiping.

Would not recommend.

That said, the magnet is really strong. I had no problem with my 200 gal tank's half inch thick glass.

I wanted something to get the algae off the aquarium glass that kept my hand out of the water. This algae scraper is not the answer. It took off some but you really have to work at it and it takes more time than a standard "in the water" scraper.
