For the rare occasion that your Bio-Wheel gets damaged (they don't ever need replacing if they are in working condition), this replacement filter wheel is top-notch. I picked one up a few weeks ago because I downgraded to a smaller fish tank with a filter that required a Bio-Wheel that I didn't have anymore. The bio works great and they last a very long time or forever if you move just put the wheel in a glass of the tank water. i didnt know this when i moved and i just threw it away thinking i could find a new one at a pet store. i was so wrong i look at big and smal pet stores and none of them had it. the shipping will cost more then the product tho! but 8 bucks and with how ling it last it is worth it.

Exotic Environments Oriental Vase Aquarium Ornament

This ornament has been in use for a few months now. I has shown no signs of wear or fading. It was a great addition to my 55 gallon goldfish aquarium

I sort of figured that the quality of this item was only going to be mediocre because other companies were selling this for 3-4 times the price. It is marked hand painted, but I think it must have been a toddler who painted it. The lines that would guide the "painters" that are embedded into the actual vase are very clear, but the paint itself looks like it was just slapped on, and doesn't come anywhere near being in the lines. I have even considered for aesthetic purposes buying an aquarium safe paint set in similar colors so I can redo it myself it is that bad. The only up side is that my fish really loves the multiple holes to swim in and out of. My advice, if you care how the item looks, spend a little extra and buy the more expensive one. May sound like a harsh review, but for someone who likes to actually look in their fish tank, it really takes away from the whole aquarium scene, and distracts me from looking at my beautiful fish because it stands out so much. Wish I would've spent a little more myself...may still do that, depending on the cost of the paint it may be cheaper. Either way, it won't be staying in the tank as it is.

I have a 35 gallon plastic container that I use as a patio pond. I keep a couple of goldfish in it. The Patio Pond

De-icer works well with this small container.I have had sucess with my fish surviving through the winter. I cut back my hardy plants, dropping them to the bottom of the container and they survive the winter as well without freezing. The only draw back is that the ring will get deposit build-up and needs to be cleaned peroidically.

I have had three of these heaters. They work fine for two seasons then they short and blow the GFI.

Every spring they are coverd with slime and crud that takes scrubbing with a wire brush to clean.

I need to find something that lasts.

Jungle TB630W Tank Buddies Fungus Clear, 8-Tablet

We got our first fish -a betta-a couple of weeks ago. When we bought him, there was a tiny black spot on the tip of his tail and, naively, thought it was just part of his natural coloring. Unfortunately, the tiny black spot started spreading. It was fin rot. I read on the internet that frequent water changes were the best treatment, so we changed his water daily but the black kept spreading and his other fins started to look funny, too. After about a week of daily water changes, we purchased this product.

1 tablet is good for 10 gallons. Our tank is only 5 gallons so I broke the tab in half. It broke easily into two equal pieces without any crumbling. I put half into the tank and it fizzed and turned the water a greenish-blue color. The next day, all the black on our betta's tail was completely gone! Three days later, his fins are still not as good as new, but they show obvious signs of healing. He is acting more energetic, eating more, and just doing better all around. I am really amazed at how quickly and how well this product worked and I wish we had used it right away instead of letting him suffer through a week of ineffective water changes.

The box does contain the generic warning that some ingredients have been found to cause cancer in the state of California. I used gloves when breaking the tablet and will be very careful with future water changes.

Today is the third day after use and the water still has a greenish tint. His aquarium has silk plants in various colors and none of them seem to have been dyed. Even though there is an obvious tint, the water is still clear so it doesn't really look dirty or gross.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone dealing with fin rot.

Our lab uses these tablets to treat a variety of fish illnesses (dropsy, fungus, etc.). They work! This stuff will stain sand if you just drop the tablet into the tank, so I'd suggest dissolving it in a bucket or beaker before adding it to the treatment tank.

Fish in question: Brachyhypopomus gauderio (scaleless, similar to black ghost and other knife fish)

I'm not sure that this product is still being produced, which is a total shame. I have had two goldfish come down with dropsy at two separate times, and each time I used this medication to CURE THEM. Yes, they are STILL ALIVE even after they both had extremely bloated, pine-coned bodies. I really thought they would not make it, but with the help of this medication (as well as some other special attention), they both were able to pull through. I recently purchased four of these packages each contain 8 tabs (1 tab per 10 gallons) in case they go out of stock. I highly recommend this product.

Keep in mind that it does turn the water a cool (or sickly, depending on who you ask) blue/green color, so its best to take out any decor you may have.

I'd bought Jungle Tank Buddies: Fungus Clear, a couple of months ago "just in case". These things are difficult to find in PetSmart and PetCo, so I decided to buy it from Amazon and stock it.

Just Wednesday, I saw that my large Red Cap Oranda was getting red streaks in his veil finds and he had fin rot. He also had red spots on his body. One of the baby Lionchus had died and had contaminated the water. He was hidden behind one of the large sponge filters. My other goldies in the same 110 gallon fish tank were fine.

I changed 30% of the water and, since this is a big tank and they require that you mix the tablets in a separate bucket before adding to the tank when used in larger tanks, I poured the pre-mixed solution and very blue water in.

The first day, "Spartacus", the red cap oranda, went from floating at the top {head first} to swimming around and even eating a little. The second day was the worst. I thought I'd lost him. He was really sick and was upside at the bottom of the tank, and he didn't eat. The third day, he was on the mend. He was at least upright but still at the bottom of the tank although he did take some food.

Throughout these days, I had noticed that the red streaks were disappearing and today, the fourth day, I'll be doing a 30% water change and Spartacus is A-OKAY! Fungus Clear from Jungle Tank Buddies has saved my fish from almost certain death. I recommend everyone who has goldies to keep these tablets in stock. They will save your fish.

*** UPDATE 04/25/2013 *** ~ Spartacus is 100% back! He's eating and swimming and back to his old self begging for food whenever I pass the tank. No more streaks. Fins are on the mend. And he's happily swimming along. I did have to use a second doze just to be sure. Now I have put a carbon filter in my Rena XP3 filter to remove the medicine together with weekly water changes. Mighty Mite 50GPD with DI Added

I use this little guy to filter water to top off a custom saltwater aquarium. I have hundreds of dollars in test kits to make sure nothing other than pure water touches my corals, and this Mighty Mite has never failed to produce crystal clear pure water. Great product and well worth it for the price.

I bought this unit for a saltwater aquarium. It was incredibly easy to install (it attaches to a sink faucet) and all you have to do to make it work is to turn the water on! I used Salifert test kits to evaluate the output, and it was top notch. The dKH of my source water was near 20. The output of this unit was 0!!! Phosphates and silicates also tested zero.

Initially, my product output was a little low, which I attributed to low flow from the faucet I used. But it gradually got worse and worse over the course of the first few weeks I used the unit. For instance, it took a week to fill my 150 gallon sump 3/4 of the way to the top. The I decided to test the unit, and I left it running full blast while hooked up to a high flow hose spigot (bought simple adapter from Menards). It produced 5 gallons in 24 hours.

Because the unit is modular I was able to test the water flow through each individual component. I determined that the RO unit itself was responsible for the low flow. I bought a replacement RO unit and I now use the DI unit from this machine with the unit to produce my aquarium water. I liked this unit a lot, but it only worked for a couple of weeks before the RO membrane apparently gave out.

This RODI was easy to set up and performs like a champ. My total system volume is around 40 gallons so this should suit me perfectly. All the inlets and outlets are tagged and marked to avoid confusion. Plenty of line was included with the package, as well as some fittings for common household taps. Shipping was fast. I also contacted AWI with a question and their response was prompt and courteous. This system is perfect for the price and size.

This is a terrific inexpensive RO unit. I use mine to make RO water for 29 gallon biocube. It makes 1 gallon per hour without a booster pump. Easy to hook up to faucet with all included adapters and small enough to be stored inside bathroom or kitchen cabinet. I may mount mine after determining the best location. I didn't check to make sure my faucet connection was on tight and checked all connections, but couldn't figure out why it wasn't producing RO water. You should be seeing a 4 to 1 ratio (drain vs. RO water) if all is working. You will have constant drainage so don't worry. Mighty Mite's customer service was quick and most helpful in determining the issue. Highly recommended!

Hagen Nutrafin Max Sinking Tablets, 4.23-Ounce

I purchased this for a 24 gallon jbj nano cube. I didnt want something that would break the bank but I also wanted a fixture that was dimmable and this one fit the bill.

Well my first fixture had 2 led's that were off in color so after contacting the seller they sent me a return label and I was able to return it and a little while longer I received my replacement.

All the led's were good to go in the replacement but the case was a little bit different than my first fixture. The first fixture had nice rounded edges and looked like it was pretty well put together.

The replacement didnt look like it was put together as nicely but hey at least it was going to get the job done. The whole process of returning the old fixture and getting the new one took about 2 months so that stunk. Overall I'm happy with the led fixture. I've owned the tao tronics or however you say it and those were nice too. If I had the choice of going with this fixture again or saving up and getting something better, I would probably save up and go with something better. I do feel like you get what you pay for in this hobby. Although you may not need to spend $600 on led's that will get the job done, I would have gone with something a little higher end such as AI SOL's or something comparable. Anywho I hope you find this somewhat helpful.

Tried several pumps, I own two of these pumps. I use them pump in a 55 gallon and a 46 gallon. Extrememly quite and powerful. Great purchase.

This is the most powerful quiet pump available. Hands down. Now, it's not the most powerfull available, but then again, who wants a turbine running in their house that they have to listen to all day? This pump is plenty powerful (only mildly less than the louder models) and a great choice. Believe me: I've tried them all. I use this in an 8 gallon nano tank for Red Cherry Shrimp only. I did have to modify the bottom container with a better filter media (Chempure Elite) as the media in this is substandard. It also must be anchored down, I'm using a thermometer suction clip. It needs only a minimal air pump. My shrimp tank is heavily planted with only dwarf shrimp and three nerite snails...It is nearly self-sustaining but I wanted a little extra filteration with no chance of losing babies in a larger filteration system. This is a very small filter. This works well but I wouldn't recommend for any heavier bioload or with the media filter material it comes with.

I bought this for a 5 gallon tank and it wouldn't sink to the bottom...I added more rocks to it but then I couldn't get the top to close. I ended up throwing this in the trash. It was not useful at all.

Good heater for a small Betta bowl. I had 0.5 G bowl and it works really well for me. Would recommend it to anybody.

My poor little Betta was freezing in his 1/2 gallon glass bowl. I upgraded to a 1 Gal square tank and added this heater. His water is now just a little cooler than luke warm. He is happy, spunky, and even made his bubble nest the day after I placed him in his new and warmer enviornment. It only took about 4 hours to get his water to a consistant temp and it has remained that way.

Well, this heater keeps the water at a nice temp for ME but not my Betta. I only have a 1.5 gal environment for my fish so this heater began to make my fish sick and he almost died. I read on a site that a heater should not be used unless my fish is in a 5 gal or larger tank...oops!

I took the heater out just in time to save my beautiful fish. I'm keeping the heater because I will eventually get a larger tank for him.

This product did do its job, so it's nice.

We ordered our first one of these heaters for the betta tank in our kitchen since it seemed to get pretty cold during the winter. It kept the water at a nice high-70 degrees in a 1.5 gallon tank. The betta went from brooding at the bottom to swooshing around the tank, chasing after us as we walked by. He was obviously much happier, so we bought a second heater for the betta in our son's room. Now 'Decepticon' is also much more active as well. We feel bad that the cool water was obviously having a bad effect on the fishes' metabolism, but now that they are warm they will have longer, happier lives.

My betta's 2 gallon tank was SO cold before I got this!! He was lethargic, swimming really slowly, clamped fins, not as excited to eat, and pooing less. This little heater probably saved his life!! So I was surprised with the quick delivery to my house, but pretty much everything failed. I opened it and pinched the hose to see how tough the plastic was, it wasn't tough at all, and 2 minutes later when I try to use the thing to clean my tank I get a leak in the hose right where I had pinched it. The pump, well, it works, if you hold it so the open end is up when you squeeze, the plastic piece that allows suction to be possible is extremely cheap and I wouldn't expect it to last long. Also there is nothing written in english on the directions. This thing could be usable if you don't plan on messing with the actual hose, but its such cheap plastic don't be surprised if it gets a leak, a slight pinch of the hose was enough to make the plastic crease. I was really trying to show the previous reviewers up by making this thing work flawlessly, needless to say that didn't happen. Not worth 5 bucks folks.

Its good for a quick water change but it has zero suction as a vacuume and once your down to the last 5 inches of water in the bottom of the tank it doesn't work at all. But when we do our 25% water change every week it's a good tool.

TOM Aquarium Oxygen Stone 5-pcs

These oxygen stones are great. Being a college student and all, I need to have some way of taking care of my fish during holiday breaks, long trips home, moving from dorm to apartment, etc. With these oxygen stones, I can take my fish outta their aquarium and into a travel-sized one and bring them with me whenever I'm traveling for long periods of time. It is great to be able to bring my fish with me and not have to worry about someone watching them or feeding them or anything. I bought a travel aquarium (with a handle and a light) and use these stones, They do last a long time. I mean when it says a month, it lasts a month. again make sure you put in one per fish. I ran out of stones and then carelessly made the mistake of using one stone for two fish, for about a month and a half of course my fish got sick. If your fish are large, you might want to drop in an extra stone or two. Again, great. I do reccomend. They're life savers, literally :) !!

The product falsely advertises that it keeps the tank clean for 30 days......more like 3 days. Before using these tablets, I used to clean my 1gallon fish tank ever 2 days, but now, with these tablets, it a whopping 3 days. You only get 5 tablets for ten dollars and I've had to use 2 tablets at a time since I have to little 2" tropical fish (1 tablet per fish). Never again!!

These fish tank filters are great for my tank. I will never use any other kind of filters. These are a great buy as our local pet store charges much more.
