Fluval Shrimp Granules - 1.2 Ounces
The size of the food granules are just a bit larger than play sand. In fact, I have difficulty distinguishing this food in one of my tanks using "beige" pool sand as substrate. The granules do float around until pushed down by the filter or waterlogged after a minute or so. The shrimps will take immediate notice and jump on the food. The granules are light enough for each of the shrimps to grab and run without sharing with their family and friends. The granules also don't cloud water or "melt" like other pellets do.
I do question the value of the granules since the food is so tiny. While this is beneficial if you have just a few shrimps and don't want to overfeed the tank, but if you have more than 20 shrimps, then you'll want the larger pellets or wafers since those provide a more centralized location for feeding while also providing opportunity to fertilize eggs.
Strongly recommended if you have picky shrimps or have nano tank with a small shrimp community. Otherwise, alternates foods will provide better value over time. It's shrimp food but my RCS love it. I am trying to breed RCS and was feeding them fish food, wafers, etc. Usually the food would sit and waste. Now that I am feeding them this stuff, they literally go and eat it right when I drop it in.

My RCS and Amano shrimp to include my catfish LOVED this stuff. Would most certainly recomend and would buy again.I used this product to feed four different types of ornamental shrimp and they all seem to crowd around and enjoy it during feeding time. I was previously using larger size pellets and there was large amounts of uneaten food. With these small granules I could easily gauge how much each shrimp tank would need depending on amount and size of shrimp. I would recommend this product to anyone who is currently feeding their shrimp fish food as this is a great alternative and increases color appearance and activity of shrimp colonies. Great Product!Tuesday, September 30, 2014
Exotic Environments Saber Tooth Skull Aquarium Ornament, Small, 4-1/2-Inch by 3-Inch by 3-Inch
The insides of the skull have small ridges where crickets may hide, although I've never seen any do it.
Cricket legs scattered around it add to the elephant graveyard look. All of the white paint has flaked off in my tank...no sure where it went...now it's entirely a drab, confluent gray since it's nothing but the hardened resin...crap product! The inside of this ornament is full of sharp jagged ridges. If you want to use it for delicate animals, you are going to have to spend some time sanding them down. But on the plus side it does look really cool.

Exotic Environments Castle Fortress with Gargoyles Aquarium Ornament, 10-Inch by 3-1/2-Inch by 5-1/
The castle measures just over 5.5 inches in height, just under 8.5 inches in length and 3 inches in width (width measured at the bottom).
From the picture you can't tell, but the main two windows only measure 1/2 an inch in width and .75 in height, so only small fish can fit through. Also, the top of the towers have very SMALL openings, about the size of a dime, so again, very small fish might be able to fit through. The openings do not have sharp edges, so no need to sand them.
The overall construction is actually very good, sturdy and nicely painted. If you plan to mod it somehow, you'll need a precise and strong tool, I would guess some kind of Dremel attachment. It's made of some kind of hardened plastic.
I ended up not using this castle in my aquarium, because it looked too small in it. I have a 50 gallon, oval shaped glass aquarium, so it has more height than length. I hope this helps. Good Luck. After many years of wanting an aquarium, I recently purchased a 20 gallon aquarium. I bought this ornament as my center piece in the tank and I must admit that I love it! My tank is gargoyle themed so it really balances out my tank perfectly! It is not too big or too small.this castle is a beautiful piece for stand alone in a small tank or with other pieces in a large tank. the open interior is ideal for live plants to take root or for small fish to find dark shelter. from new this is a nice looking castle and maintains its looks for years to come. injection molded and hand painted to a natural look and feel. we use this castle in a small(10 gal.) tank with live plants and tetras(small generic fish). make sure and always give the water plenty of time to aclimate Ph, temp, O2 and micro-bacteria after all ornamwnts and rock are in for at least two weeks before adding fish and plants to promote health and longevity of life in your tank as some ornaments and/or rock adjust these levels and can stress or harm fish. make sure and physically measure your tank or area before purchasing pieces to avoid crowding.

Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Ponds Ceramic Air Stone Diffusers, 40mm Diameter
Buy Jardin Aquarium Fish Tank Ponds Ceramic Air Stone Diffusers, 40mm Diameter Now
Love this product although there may not be any quality control associated with their production... 2 out of the 4 stones I ordered did not come in working order. Although the issue was an extremely quick fix. The nipple attachments on these are glued on with an epoxy. Unfortunately, if the epoxy is not applied perfectly it can prevent the airflow from the nipple to the stone. If this happens to you... don't freak out its an EASY FIX! All you have to do is find a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the nipple and drill into the center of the stone for about a 1/4 inch past resistance and the stone will work perfectly. With a bit of pre-shipment product testing this product would be fine.... otherwise its an easy fix with a bit and a drill! Hope this helps and enjoy!

I have bought many of these bones for my 1.5 y/o lab. She is a chewing machine, and these will last her for about a week a piece. She likes to pick them up and drop them for some reason so they will break in half. Then she will gnaw on the knuckle part till it's gone. They do break into sharp pieces sometimes, but I just throw those bits away. All in all these are a great natural dog chew. Reef One Biorb Heater Pack
the tank is a sphere so they should have found/or made accessories that can fit the concavity of the inner walls of the tank. It comes with a plastic wall adapter that does not work. Directions with the heater are limited and does not explain too much in terms of installing. This heater is a breeze to install. i dont know what size orbs the others were commenting on that were having issues. It is fully submersable so the owner that was afraid to drop it in should read the directions. Maybe the smaller orbs have a tighter sphere making it more difficult to install. I own the 16 gallon biorb and i had no problems. Will try to post a pic so you can check out what it looks like.this heater works fine but will not fit into the BiOrb with the suction cups inclosed. You just have to let it dangle in the tank by the cord and hope it does not go into the water.

Coral Sun Bulb for Aquariums
Buy Coral Sun Bulb for Aquariums Now
I have a 120-gallon freshwater aquarium with a few large shubunkins and a mix of artificial and live plants. The aquarium was lit by a pair of 24" 8000k fluorescents in separate 30" hoods, set end-to-end over the length of the 5-foot long tank. I purchased a pair of these ZooMed Coral Sun Actinic bulbs primarily to provide some supplemental lighting for the plants. I installed them in an additional pair of 30" hoods. The addition of the blue light output from the ZooMed bulbs to the existing 8000K fluorescents, really made a difference in the overall color balance. The gravel and plants took on a more natural, less yellowish look and the colors of the fish were also enhanced. So, in addition to helping the plants, the aesthetics were much improved as well. In the evening, I shut down the 8000K bulbs and just leave the actinics on for awhile before turning everything off for the night. The ZooMed actinics provide a cool moonlight effect when used by themselves. Great product and highly recommended for my application. The lamp was delivered very quickly and arrived in great condition. Also, it seems to work well and looks great in the aquarium! I would highly recommend this product and seller to others.Thursday, May 1, 2014

25 Foot - Python No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System
It's very well manufactured, even comes with a warranty, and it is soooo much easier to make a water change. Just hook it up, turn on your faucet and start syphoning. Also no mess when filling the tank back up.
If the aquarium is located a little higher than the sink you're using it will continue to syphon by itself and you can turn off the faucet. Otherwise the ratio is 5gal tank water syphoned out per gallon out of the faucet, which could be a little wasteful with bigger tanks.I would give this product 10 stars, not 5. It's unbelievable how easy and enjoyable my fish tank maintanance become since I started using this kit. Not mentioning the quality of water and general appearance of the tank. Even algea bothers me much less since. I am always kind of sceptical when reading somebody else's product review, but never afraid to try something new myself. In this case it pays off 100% very smart, efficient and convenient device, doesn't require much space for storage and easy to use. The price is affordable as well. Do not hesitate to buy it if you have pretty big fish tank mine is 29 gallons. Along with using Emperor filter I do not have any tough time to keep my aquarium sparkling clean and my fish are healthy as never. Trust it and good luck!

This is my second NSPC&F after the first one, which lasted around 3 years of weekly use, succumbed to my punishment. This siphon really does make a huge difference in changing the water in my 75 gallon tank -what used to take an hour now takes 20-30 minutes. Plus, there's a LOT less mess than hauling buckets of water through the house.

This product is so helpful, it's ingenious. A simple vacuum/pump arrangement lets you suck water out of the aquarium and pump it back in without effort. I have a 29 gallon tank and only a 2 gallon bucket. Water changes used to take 30-40 minutes. Now, I can accomplish the same task in 10-15 minutes depending on the water pressure I use.In contrast to the typical siphon gravel vac that comes with most aquarium kits, I find that the fish are less startled and less traumatized by the water changes using the Python. It also sucks up more waste than the siphon vac. As a new aquarist, this handy device has made tank maintenance very easy, thus helping me keep my enthusiasm for the hobby high. Looking forward to expanding to a 55g tank in the fall. Highly recommended.

The hose and syphon end is very good and durable. I have owned 4 of these since they came out. All of them broke at the faucet end, Drain/Fill part...ended up replacing them with waterbed fill kits, and those break too. (BTW) exactly the same thing! The other issue is there in-line shut off valves are junk as well. Lost $400 of Orange Mellow Angels because I had the hose in the tank with the valve shut off....got a phone call and came back 40mins later to continue my water changes to find a broken heater and dead fish with 1/4" of water in the tank. Valve was definitely shut off! I did a test with it on another tank and witnessed it drain a 30 gal tank in 40 minutes, with valve shut off, they leak around seal....needless to say, it got pitched and I got to flush cash down the drain (dead fish). I still use them however, I hook it up directly to faucet to fill tank and use a clamp to hold hose to utility sink to drain with it. Trick is to start filling tank with it on faucet then turn water off, unscrew it and it will start the syphon for you. Hope this helps.Thursday, February 20, 2014

Eshopps AEO19005 U-Tubes for Aquarium Water Pump, 1-1/4-Inch
The U-Tube does not have venting tube to remove the access air and prime the system. So you have to use a rubber hose to accomplish this. I had a other u-tube that had a notch on the top and a tub sticking out of it that made it easy to prime and clear it.
I thought I would be crafty and make this hole my self and add a silicon tube on my own. Well the U-Tube cracked and now it's a big mess, I covered it with silicon and got it working.
Other than that it did work. If you do cut a hole don't use a drill that doesn't have a speed control, and turn your cell phone off too.

biUbe Pure Aquarium with Halogen Light, Clear, 9 Gallons
I have had aquariums since I was young, and though I am no expert by any means, I know that the bigger the tank, the easier it is to maintain. The problem is, I really couldn't fit anything too big in my little bedroom so I thought this aquarium would be perfect and it is. When doing my research, some people advised against these kinds of aquariums, but the people who actually have the tank don't really have too many complaints about them. As long as you're patient and follow directions, you shouldn't have a problem.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of:
1.) The pump that comes with the aquarium is very loud and annoying. If you are putting your tank in a room with lots of white noise, then this shouldn't be a problem, but in a bedroom all I hear is a loud buzzing noise coming from the pump. I immediately replaced the pump with a different brand that produced less noise. Although most air pumps do submit some noise, compared to the one by Reef One, the new one is way better.
2.) The pump that comes with the tank is not known to last very long and requires a replacement within 6 months to a year (some people say less, they even tell you to keep a spare pump for this reason in the book). Do yourself a favor and just purchase the Tetra Whisper 10 gallon air pump here on amazon for $9.99. It's cheaper than biOrb's pump, last longer, and not as noisy. I bought 2 for that price.
3.) Reef One wants you to replace the filter too often and this can be pricey. Talk to some people who have had their biOrb for a while and they will tell you how to prolong the filter pad life.
4.) The aquarium is made of acrylic. While acrylic is much stronger than glass, it scratches so easily. Just be careful not to use anything to rough like paper towels or a rag. I brought a few microfiber clothes to clean the aquarium.
The above things are miner and can definitely be worked around. Just keep in mind that pretty much any aquarium smaller than a 20 or 30 gallon requires a little more time and effort.
Having known all this before I purchased my biUbe, I absolutely love my tank! It is very beautiful and doesn't take up too much room in my small bedroom because of its shape.
P.S. The title for the biUbe from amazon.com wrong. It actually comes with the biOrb Intelligent LED light not the halogen light.
UPDATE: Well, I have been having the tank for a few months now and I love it even more everyday. I actually prefer it over the biOrb Life 60, which I also have. I am up to 4 fish now (please follow the directions in only adding 1 or 2 small fish per month, otherwise your tank can crash, killing the fish, and go through a mini cycle if the bio-load gets too overwhelmed). I added a small internal filter behind my bubble tube cover just for some added filtration. If you are worried about the fish being distorted, it's really not that bad at all. You still get a very good view of the fish when they come swimming around. Remember, small tanks take a little more patience, so don't be in a hurry to get a full stock right after your tank is done cycling. Take your time and enjoy! Most little tanks look like they belong on a 9 year old's night stand. This one, thankfully, does not. It is artistic in it's design but it does not hinder you from actually keeping fish. I have it on a little table in my office and it's just the right amount of size for that space.
Simple to put to together, and very low-maintenance. It takes about 5-10 minutes a week to do a water change. Changing the filter is a snap -just pull out the tube and twist off the filter. Put the new one on and put it back. That's it.
I have a heater in mine so i can keep tropical fish. Doesn't take too big of one to heat this baby.
The vertical configuration makes it slightly tricky to get decor to work right, but i've found that the smaller stuff works just fine if you plan it right.
The LED lights that come with this are awesome. You can set it to many different settings of timing for your sunrise/sunset routine. The weirdest thing is that it goes from 8 hrs to 14 hrs of daylight for a choice with nothing in between. But the light really enhances the fish -and the pure clear outside allows them to really show up well.
I've seen a few reviews on amazon (for other colors) that were so negative it's hard to believe it's the same item. People blaming the Biube for killing their fish? Really? It's a plastic tube with a pump and rocks. The only issues i've had were smaller fish trying to dig into the rocks for food and getting stuck as the rocks are like volcanic rock and not small smooth pebbles. This is to enhance the natural bio filter.
Anyway I highly recommend this tank. I want to get another one.
Buy biUbe Pure Aquarium with Halogen Light, Clear, 9 Gallons Now
I love my new Biube Pure aquarium, and what's more important is that our betta fishy, Braveheart, is more flippy than ever. He is our second betta, and he and Fishy 1 lived in an unfiltered 2.5 gallon vase bowl prior to this (serial inhabitants). Fishy 1 lived for 4 years in that environment and was happy. Fishy 2 (Braveheart) lived in the bowl for about 6 months before I started researching for a new aquarium. The water was starting to grow slime film and was increasingly getting difficult to keep clean. I don't like the look of boxy aquariums, so when I came across the Biube, I thought that's the new home for Braveheart!Wanting to do everything right now, I cycled the tank before putting fishy in -it took 4 weeks, but I feel is well worth the effort. I followed instructions by this person (search fish keeping forum uk and jenny bugs post 6259), and cycled my tank fish less using the ammonia method. Fishy's been in his new home for over a week now and loves it. He dances more and swims through his castle all the time, which he wasn't doing so much in his last home. I've got a bunch of real plants now and he loves to explore the tank. I was worried the depth might be a problem for him, because bettas generally come from shallow waters, but immediately when I put him in the tank, he swam down to the bottom to check everything out. He hangs out all over the tank and sleeps in the plants at night. I have a Fluval M 50 watt heater that I also got on amazon to keep him nice and cozy -bettas like 78-80 degree water. And finally, because they prefer calmer water, I bought a flow regulator to put in the air line. We've reduced the bubbles to a light flow, while still aerating the water for the plants and filtering purposes. I just tested the water today to check how everything is doing since he was added and all the levels (nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia) are perfect! :)
I'm considering getting him some tank mates (tetras) when we get back from christmas vacation. Also, the air pump is a little noisy so we may get a tetra whisper as another reviewer suggested. Overall, we're very happy.

The clear plexiglass of this tank makes it almost transparent, so you can see the fish really well. Since it has less filtering (out of the box) than a regular tank, it is important not to overload it with too many (or too large) fish. I modified it by using smaller gravel over the rocks that come with it, because the rocks (which are necessary for the biological filter) are quite ugly and excess food gets trapped in it. I also added a small Tom filter (the smallest one, it's onlyWant biUbe Pure Aquarium with Halogen Light, Clear, 9 Gallons Discount?

Aquarius AQ15002 Semi-hexagon 5-Gallon Aquarium with Hood and CFL lighting and Mini Might Internal
Pros:
For what you get, this is a great value!
Love the hinged lid that allows for easy water changes and other maintenance.
The "feed window" is nice so the whole hood doesn't have to be lifted (see Con#2) to simply feed the fish.
Florescent bulb makes it easier to keep live plants.
Cons:
The tank does seem to be slightly more prone to scratches; more so than the other acrylic tank I have, but nothing horrible yet. Plus I think there are scratch kits I could use if it gets bad.
I love the hinged lid, but it does seem that when I open it to add ammonia for the cycle, water that has condensed on the inside of the lid drips down the back of the tank. Hopefully this will only be an occasional challenge.Pros:-good acrylic, i have yet to see any scratching
The dimensions are better than other hexagon tanks
-the hinged hood is great, really like the fluorescent light
Cons:-the feeling lid on the hood is kinda small, i have to lift the hood to feed my Halfmoon plakat betta blood worms or any food with a big container
-the filter that came with it sucked for my betta(too much current) no problem, i bought a new one and threw the old one away
Overall you get your bang for your buck, so i'm not gonna give it 1 star just because the feeding lid is small or because I don't like the filterTank was good for the price i paid, nice design. Opening for despencing food is to small tho.
Filter was not working right, had to buy new.Received and set up this aquarium about a year ago. The pump is great... very quiet. The acrylic tank walls are very thin, but it seems well constructed with a black plastic frame, and there are no leaks. The acylic does tend to scratch, so need to be careful and no scrubbing with scratchy cleaning pads. The lid is a bit old fashioned & "clunky" looking, but it does have a light fixture which allows easy changing of a screw-in type of light bulb. I believe it came with an incandescent bulb, but I've changed it to a screw-in LED (not as hot... and/or you could also use a screw-in florescent.)
I got this tank at a very good price, but I see the price now is much higher, and really can't recommend it at that price. I've seen similar aquariums in 5 and 10 gallon sizes much cheaper at Wally-world (if you know what I mean.)The first one (AND ITS REPLACEMENT) arrived with scuffs on the inside of the acrylic tank from the box of components moving back and forth on the front (inside) of the tank. The box was inside of a plastic bag but was not immobilized with Styrofoam as it should have been. After the replacement arrived with the same scuffs, I decided not to try a 3rd time. Too bad, it looked like it could have been a nice aquarium. Amazon was excellent at handling the returns as usual.
