Fluval Shrimp Granules - 1.2 Ounces

As a serious hobbyist with multiple tanks for breeding RCS, CRS, OEBT, Blue Pearl, Snowball, Yellow, Wild Tiger, Malawa, and Dark Greens, I believe I am qualified to comment on this food. All my shrimps love this food and some of my shrimps are extremely picky.

The size of the food granules are just a bit larger than play sand. In fact, I have difficulty distinguishing this food in one of my tanks using "beige" pool sand as substrate. The granules do float around until pushed down by the filter or waterlogged after a minute or so. The shrimps will take immediate notice and jump on the food. The granules are light enough for each of the shrimps to grab and run without sharing with their family and friends. The granules also don't cloud water or "melt" like other pellets do.

I do question the value of the granules since the food is so tiny. While this is beneficial if you have just a few shrimps and don't want to overfeed the tank, but if you have more than 20 shrimps, then you'll want the larger pellets or wafers since those provide a more centralized location for feeding while also providing opportunity to fertilize eggs.

Strongly recommended if you have picky shrimps or have nano tank with a small shrimp community. Otherwise, alternates foods will provide better value over time.

It's shrimp food but my RCS love it. I am trying to breed RCS and was feeding them fish food, wafers, etc. Usually the food would sit and waste. Now that I am feeding them this stuff, they literally go and eat it right when I drop it in.

I used this product to feed four different types of ornamental shrimp and they all seem to crowd around and enjoy it during feeding time. I was previously using larger size pellets and there was large amounts of uneaten food. With these small granules I could easily gauge how much each shrimp tank would need depending on amount and size of shrimp. I would recommend this product to anyone who is currently feeding their shrimp fish food as this is a great alternative and increases color appearance and activity of shrimp colonies. Great Product!

The product was well described, and works great! The timer takes a few minutes to figure out, but it works well! I reveiced a faulty bulb, which was replaced several times by the seller due to transit issues (i.e. bulb shattered upon arrival). The seller was very helpful and cosiderate. I would def buy from them again.

I order two of these lighting units...All but a few of the bulbs were broken when it arrived although NOT due to poor packing but rather poor handling by UPS. It happens now and then. I emailed the company and they responded asap and sent out new bulbs that all arrived intact within a day or two. They followed-up on my order progress and shipment. It's rare to get that level of excellence in customer services these days.

The lighting fixture itself is awesome. No more multiple cords/plugs with timers to turn off and on...This one unit does it all with a built-in digital timer and display. It's made solid and the reflector is molded for optimal light reflection. This unit is extremely similar to another lighting unit that sell for a couple hundred dollars more.

This unit is set-up with marine lighting at 12,000K per tube and 2 actinic tubes, but I figured out the cost to change out the bulbs to convert to freshwater and it still comes out to be a great deal for freshwater too. I'm going to order another and switch out the tubes for 6,000K HO T-5s for a planted freshwater tank.

I'm very pleased with this purchase and impressed with the company's customer service. Highly recommend!

1st time I ordered it arrived broken, not sure if from shipping even though couple holes in box or if it was damaged already? 2nd time ordered my husband put the light together for me while I was at work, one blue bulb did not work, for me this was not a big deal however, the LEDs lights did not work. The first one that did work but was damaged when plugged in looked AMAZING! However the light it's self is flimsy, not well built and no name brand etc. also did not come with instruction booklet. I feel this light is just cheap and not of good quality. For 100 dollars more my husband took me to a marine store and bought be an amazing light with 4 bulbs and very heavy and durable. Not like this.

Panacea Lustre Black Marbles - 100 Count

These marbles should not be described as black at all.

Though in the picture they may look black, the only way you'll see them as black in person is if you turn off all the lights.

These marbles are gunmetal silver. If i wanted silver marbles, I would have looked for some, however, after spending 8+ dollars for 100 marbles that are NOT the color they are labeled, I am extremely disappointed.

Some look at these as regular marbles. I look at them as part of a working piece of art work.

The marbles came on time & in good order, however the "black" marbles aren't really "black", they are more like a mirrored blue/grey. There is a previous review on this item referencing a loss during shipping. The product itself is in ok shape, but the packaging was severely damaged and there are small glass shards at the bottom of the shipping 'bag' like some of the marbles have chipped. We're using these for center pieces at our wedding, so hopefully none are damaged.

There's not much to say about a glass cleaner it either works or doesn't. This one does work well, the magnets are very strong be careful not to get pinched accidentally. My only small little gripe is that I'd like other colors as the whitish color is one scares the fish, two visually unattractive if you leave it on all the time like I do. Lets get some black, dark green or dark grey. Other than that it's great. Also helps that it floats if it comes off.

I contacted Big al, and they said sure, provide the package and we will give a full refund as long as it is not working as I claimed, and its not missing any items. After a whole month of talking back n forth and finally getting the okay to refund, they tried to say that everything was working FINE and it was my fault. They said they plugged in the lights and it lit up light a christmas tree, and my sockets must of been bad. I instantly filed a claim, and btw, the customer service rep "jessica", enjoyed her time of giving me trouble, she made witty remarks such as "i dont know how you had such a hard time plugging in the lights". Worst customer service ive ever had, they tried to scam me, amazon saved me, i will never buy anything from big al and i warn any people that if they want to avoid dealing with broken products do NOT buy from this seller

CURRENT, the manufacturer was great. I told them I have dead bulbs and they sent me new ones no questions asked. Its BIG AL that tried to bend me over and take me for a ride. There is no way you can take my broken fixture and bulb and tell me they were not broken and it was my sockets fault. As soon as I told them I filed a claim they instantly stopped e-mailing me. Fair enough. Product itself from what I could see was very poorly designed, as in kind of cheap feeling and placing the docking mounts require you to unscrew the hardest screws in the world.

I think the product itself is a great price and great item, too bad i received a dead one. The price is great for the specs

I've had this light for a little over a year now and I have zero complaints. I have it on a timer, and every afternoon it turns on, every night it turns off. That's all I ask. Using the docking mounts, I don't have any issues with dark areas in my tank. From what I've seen, you can't beat it for the price.

I didn't realize that this fixture has only 24 inch bulbs.. That was my fault.. It leaves large dark spots on the sides of the tank.. I would look into one that has bulbs that scale the entire length of the tank next time.. I had to purchase supplemental light fixtures to cover the dead spots and an LED moonlight strip.. At the cost to make this what I wanted I should have just got a higher priced light from a competitor.

For what it is it is decently built though. Just be aware before you make the purchase.

API Sludge Destroyer Cichlid, 8-Ounce

Great product, if you have cichlids and are not using this product or have a nitrate or algae problem, heres the solution, should be used at least every 3 weeks in a cichlid tank, thank you.

We purchased this item after the manager at our local pet store recommended it. It works great and is nice for tanks with sand substrate bottom. It gets rid of all of the waste from the bottom, thus cutting down on the amount of vacuuming you need to do. The only draw back is that the dosage is not very cost effective for larger tanks. The Directions For Use state to use 10 ML per 10 U.S. Gallons weekly. And for really dirty tanks (as is the case with most cichlid tanks) to use it twice a week. We have a 125 gallon tank, so we only were able to treat the tank twice with this product. I guess I'm going back to weekly vacuuming.

I was not impressed with the product at all. I bought it to flow H2O through the small fountain in my tree frog set up. The pump worked a day or two and then just burned out. I even made sure it was clean of cricket debris. I don't know if it is just this particular pump or the product as a whole, but I am looking for a different brand.

First, I was in the market for LED lights for my 150 gallon so I wanted to order one light first to see how I liked the quality. Well, I ordered the TAO Tronics dimmable fixture at first. I really liked TAO tronics but I needed two more lights to completely cover my 150 gallon. Well, I found this light and it looked so much like the TAO Tronics that I took a chance and ordered two of them. Well, the difference is obvious. This light is much brighter than TAO Tronics and has brighter actinic blues. Side by side this light is far superior. Plus, it is dimmable if you need less light. Trust me, I still think TAO tronics is a good light but I believe this light is better and cheaper.

LEDs don't throw off any noticeable heat, controls for white and blue are separate switches and dimmers. All good. Colors of corals, sponges, algaes very striking and poppy under this light. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that unit is on the heavy side and the hanging apparatus it comes with feels a little on the light-weight side when you dangle it over $1000 worth of tank and sea life. Also needs some skill to hang it securely and look presentable in your living room at the same time. But no regrets here!

This light is amazing, especially for the price. Definitely bright enough for corals I have it turned all the way down for my 29 gallon reef any higher and it was actually burning my corals. Would be better for a larger set up. If you haven't used LED before, it definitely looks different than VHO fluorescent or halide, but not worse for sure.

I've been using maxi-jet pumps for years in various applications, and this one acted like pretty much every other one I've used: It usually starts on its own when plugged in, but sometimes the volute needs to be turned slightly to get the impeller to start turning. These are my fall back pumps, as I've used them for over 20 years with marine (saltwater) aquariums. I've used them in sumps, corals, plants, fish (always with a strainer attached) and with maintenance, they have lasted on average 2 years each. Will continue to buy them.

One of my marine enthusiasts also had me try Rio pumps (when they came out years ago). They had sufficient output for sumps, but they also had electrical issues. Not a good thing in saltwater, since it is a good conductor of electricity, let alone for my corals and more delicate shrimp and fish :(

I removed all Rios and went back to these pumps. The sump pump I have is a larger different model, but love the Maxi Jets.

This looks like a really good idea in theory, but in practice it leaves a little to be desired.

Pros:

It's big enough on both sides for the two bettas

5lb of gravel fills this up nicely

Set up is easy

Divider is sturdy construction

Cons:

Filter is noisy and the water simply travels over the cartridge rather than going through it like is a better idea

Don't put the gravel in first; put the divider in first

Hard to get fish into the filter side once divider is in place

Feeding panel is sort of small

Bettas have a VERY hard time with current of any type. The one on the left in my tank constantly gets caught in the filter output, causing him to flare his fins and gills in fear (bad thing). It also takes up roughly an eighth of the swimmable space in the left. I'd recommend just getting one betta and making it a community tank with compatible fish.

The construction of the tank in general is solid and well done for the price. I wish they included a different filter, and I'm going to get the TOM mini filter () to replace it.

Also, if you have aggressive fish, you'll want to find a way to make the divider opaque. Mine are fairly friendly towards one another, so it's not a problem for me, but they see each other and interact a lot.

I loved the look and design of this tank. It is in my kitchen, and looks great; however I think my 2 bettas hate it!! The "divider" is slatted and does not fit tightly to both sides of the tank. The 2 fish are constantly flairing up and ramming the divider at each other! I emailed the manufacturer to see if they offered a solid or alternative type divider for this tank, but they do not. After having my 2 bettas in the tank after a couple of weeks, I came home one day to find both bettas on the SAME side of the tank! There had obviously been a nasty fight, but they both were still alive in an exhausted state and both very tattered, torn and wounded. The tank has a hood, so I don't think they jumped over. It looks like somehow they were able to get thru "around" the edges of the divider.

The tank is marketed especially for 2 bettas, but during the past couple of weeks my 2 fish have been constantly agitated which eventually led to a fight! I am now looking for a new tank and medication to help my wounded fish!

I gave it one star...it looks nice, but is meant to house healthy fish and does not.

Again....pretty decor but poor design!

Simple design issue scared the crap out of us tonight. The light/hood is directly over the water with only a a cyclinder shaped cover for the light bulb itself. The moisture from the tank goes straight up and into the light fixture. I have had larger tanks all my life, but this was the first where the moisture would condense directly on the exposed electrical components. We bought this small starter set up for the baby's room to use it as a night light. Tonight, the baby monitor started indicating there was a problem....there was no electricity on the transmitting side of the baby monitor. Sure enough, the power had gone out. I restored the power and noticed the light fixture plug was ejected from the wall slightly..when I plugged it back in..bang and a flash! The fish are still alive, but to say the least I have unplugged this tank completely. I knew this design was an issue. Never seen a light dangling over the water and should have known better as water always condenses above and from time to time the fish can splash water up as well. If you must have this tank, get a surge protector...could save your life.

I bought this tank for my first betta, Blaze. The instructions for set up were well explained and thorough. I filled up the tank, used the included Betta Bowl Plus water conditioner, and set up the filter according to the instructions. Blaze seemed to be very happy in his tank. He swam freely and had a lot of energy. The filter is really quiet, and it never sucked Blaze in the inlet. The current was pretty strong, but he just avoided it most of the time. He lived in the tank happliy for about 6 months. The little feeding door was very conveinient. Then, one day after starting to appear lathargic, he was found dead :(. So, after having a fish funeral, i let the tank just sit there for awhile, to let the water circulate for a few weeks. Then, I took 50% of the water out, replaced the filter cartrige, and re conditioned it, then, put my new betta in, Spark. He acted the same way as Blaze and immediately started making a bubble nest. He is looking good so far! Along the way, i never had a problem with any component of this system, but, i did notice some condensation by the lightbulb during the summer, so i just kept the feeding door open, and i never had that problem again. I am very pleased with this tank. BTW: This tank is actually bigger in person, so the Mini Bow 1 might work just as well for most people.

This is a product that is as described and the LED light top is really pretty and cool. You can change it from just red, blue, green, or white, to combinations of those colors, to flashing, to softly fading, etc. It's fun to play with and looks great if you get a glow in the dark plant for it.

However, bowls this small are very unhealthy for Betta fish and you HAVE to change the water at least once a week or it will die. Mine lasted about... two months, maybe, then suddenly got sick and died even though I'd been changing his water a lot. The water gets smelly and nasty fast even with just one betta. After my fish died I sold this product to someone at my school for a lot less than original price, and I don't plan on getting this product again. If you don't mind if your fish dies after awhile of changing the water a lot go ahead and get it, but I'm going to spend a little more money on a 5 gallon with a filter instead of this for sure.

My pump is around three years old and noticed less air performance. I removed the bottom casing and noticed the diaphragm was damaged. I was going to buy a cheaper model and brand but feared I would be disappointed. The fix is simple following the included installation instructions and is a 5 min fix. One thing I would mention, after I replaced the works and ran for the first time it was much louder than before (my mistake). When replacing the metal arm that holds the diaphragm/magnet make sure it is seated well in the air pump housing. Make sure to push the arm's plastic outer grooved mount as far down into the housing as possible. That took care of all the vibration noise issue after adjusting the air regulator and works fantastic.

This laser is very light, and the shape is comfortable to hold.

The laser beam itself, is bright and creates an easily visible red dot.

The keychain part of it has two options, traditional ring, or open/close hook (I don't know the proper term), which makes it easy to put away.

My cat, who is 7 years old, enjoys playing with it, though not as much as when she was younger.

As a kitten, she would literally climb the walls trying to catch it!

Now she sometimes watches the laser-device, rather that the dot it emits, but knowing where the dot comes from hasn't made her lose interest in playing.

My 1 1/2 year old pup, however, was terrified at first.

He hid even after we put it away. When I got him to come out, he kept frantically looking around, making sure the dot wasn't coming!

We had to reintroduce it to him slowly, showing him that it was just a toy, and couldn't hurt anything.

He isn't as terrified now, but still backs away from it. I can tell he is also getting a bit curious though, so hopefully he'll come around soon!

Each pet has it's own personality, and the laser is so affordable, I would recomend trying it. If your pet ends up liking it, they'll get a lot of exercise, and likely do some hilarious things trying to catch it.

Just be careful not to shine it in their eyes!

Tetra 77347 Ick Guard, 8-Tablets

I bought this at a local pet store because I noticed that one of my goldfishes had ick on its fins and a few on the tail. I only have two in a 10 gallon tank and the other fish was catching the ick. I was debating if I should use QuICK Cure or Ick Guard and I decided to use Ick Guard because it doesn't contain an ingredient that can cause cancer(formalin). Ick guard didn't work fast like it says on the box. I've used 7 of the tablets. By the 4th or 5th tablet, the ick was disappearing. Ick guard does work, but it is slow. Just follow the directions. Remove filter and change water 25% every time you add a new dose. The water will turn blue and it will disappear the next the day. I prefer breaking the tablet into four. I also used other stuff such as Stress Coat for every water change. I would put in Easy Balance as well. All in All, Ick Guard does work, but it is slow. I've read a comment saying they used 4 and it worked. I guess it all depends how the fish can take the cure.

Great price for this product compared to my local pet store. Does well with Ick that's been caught early.

That said, our tank had progressed too far and other issues and illnesses took hold. It started with Ick, but then quickly then went on to other issues. The pet store recommended a tetracycline product; and it did the trick to clear up everything — unfortunately too late for most of the fish.

Worked quick and great, with no harm to my dish. I have three Cory's, and five Molly's. Did discolor some clear plastic, so if you want to avoid staining air tubes, etc., remove those before using the product.

Like all dye based products, they'll turn your aquarium blue/green and stain your silicone seals bright blue. It does work, however.

Tetra LED Betta Tank, 1-Gallon

I bought this at petsmart and my betta loves it in comparison to the marina zen cube. It is roomier because it is a full gallon size and the shape of the aquarium allows more 'swimming room'. It's like swimming in a lap pool because it's rectangular vs the the cube which limits the length of how far the fish can swim end to end. My betta actually grew larger in this tetra tank. I do agree that if one can afford a bigger aquarium it would be more ideal but not everyone has the living space to accommodate a bigger tank or physically able to lift and wash bigger tanks.

This tank is very lightweight and easy to clean...just use a paper towel or cello sponge to wash the inner walls or it will get scratched because it's plastic. The LED light is not very bright but it adds great ambiance and the fact it has a lid is very convenient and safer if your betta is a jumper. My betta jumped out of the marina zen cube b/c the opening is very wide.

The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that it didn't come with an adaptor and batteries can run pretty expensive so I'm using rechargeables to save money. I definitely would recommend this over the other betta tanks for both looks and value.

Well, it was less then 20 bucks for my bettas setup. When the tank arrived ,the packaging was a bit odd, but the wait was worth it. This tank has an outlet on the back that you can power WITH YOUR PHONE CHARGER. Yeah, did you ever think you'd hear of a tank powered by a usb? What I like to do is power it with my xbox. This tank looks good wherever you place it in your house. Mine personally has green river rocks with green plants. The lighting from the tank really gives it a retro apperance, and my little guy couldn't be happier! Oh!There is one small issue.. The lights aren't that powerful, even when plugged in. They still give the tank a fair lighting, but don't expect your average incandescent bulb.10/10 In my opinion :)

I needed a tank with a lid, since my cat kept drinking out of the one I had. I love the shape, its fan and cool! The base lights up, however, one of the bubls was burnt when I received it. Its a cool tank and it came in one piece and in no time at all!

This tank looks nice and sleek; but it lacks filteration and the lights run on batteries. The batteries need to be loaded from the bottom. Very awkward when the tank is filled and in use.

ProClear Aquatics Motorized 150 Gallon Protein Skimmer

This is a very well designed and constructed protein skimmer. Has a small footprint taking up minimal space inside the sump. Optional drainage port is terrific. Nice touch to include tube for optional drainage port! Extremely easy to put together. Water level adjustment is very simple to use simply hold the middle of pipe and gently pull up or down on the elbow. The sight tube is a nice addition. Seems to work well and skimming is efficient. The only reason that I'm giving only 4 stars is I did not like the included Rio 2100 pump and the skimming is not as efficient as AquaC Remora/Urchin. It is large, heavy and bulky. I think Rios are not reliable either. I had to change to a Quiet One 2200 pump which is more compact to be able to fit with room leftover in my sump. If I tried to use the Rio pump, it would have been an extremely tight fit and Visi-Therm stealth heater would need to be removed. I had a tough time finding a compact skimmer for my 100-125 gallon sump that had an optional drainage port. This is a great buy even if you need to spend $25 for a compact Quiet One pump or stick with Rio pump if you are not picky.

Does exactlt what it is supposed to do and was very easy to put together. Worth the money.

This is an very good skimmer...It works great and has an excellent price..I would recommend this to anyone..I had filled my overflow with a dry skim within a few days..My tank is 125 gallons and I use it in my sump and it works great.

I got this for my 10 gallon tank and it looks beautiful in the tank! It has a nice heavy ceramic bottom, and is quite big, all spread out (how it looks in the tank) it as wide as a grown mans hand, and has some leaves shorter than others giving my fish plenty of places to swim through the branches. My fish seem very happy and it looks great in my tank! This was a great buy and this is a beautiful plant in my tank!!! Highly recommend, it is extremely gorgeous (it seems larger than the picture looks!), however, the measurements are right (it just looks small in the photo, but it is a great size)!
