Although this product was billed as tough, my dog destroyed most of it in ten minutes. I had to take it away from her so that she wouldn't ingest the string from which it is made. This product is not tough, and only dogs with soft mouths who kind of like to "gum" toys should have this product within their reach.

It's difficult for me to squeak it, impossible for my dog, and she's a strong-jawed greyhound. A fine rope toy, otherwise, but the squeaker is both weak and hard to engage.

Loving Pets Dolce Dish Dog Bowl, Small, 1 Pint, Pesto

Bought two of these for my two puppies. The stainless steel bowls are removable from the plastic base for easy washing. The bowls are pretty study. The colors are pretty true to the photo. The brown paw and bone prints are a lighter shade of brown than shown in the photo, but still look very nice.

I bought these to replace my previous set which had a similar style. I wanted something which held the same size stainless steel bowl (the bowl size is about 5" at the top with the lip and about 3.75" at the bottom). I assumed these were either metal like my previous set (which rusted) or ceramic (could break). I was very happy when I received them and they're plastic! But if any guests come to the house, they LOOK ceramic. They also have a rubber ring at the base to prevent slippage. I really like the color, too.

This is a good dog bowl. If you wash the outside in the dishwasher too many times, the paw prints do rub off. Overall it does the job.

There is a reason they put instructions on the package. Cut a small tip of the corner and squeeze little drops into the tank. I leave my powerheads on, when this stuff gets shot across the tank the fish fight for it. My problem with it is if you cut the package a little to large and a glob of it falls out it drops to the floor and stays there. I only hope my emerald crabs or hermits eat it otherwise it would cause a problem. Follow the instructions, little drops and you will be fine. I feed it twice per week to fish and corals.

Tetra 77016 TetraVeggie Algae Wafers, Pouch Bag, 3.03-Ounce, 86-Gram

These are great. I feed them to my snail. The Betta's food is high protein and he doesn't leave much. These give my snail what it needs. The wafers are about the diameter of a dime but thicker. They sink to the bottom and eventually dissolve leaving no residue and without clouding the water. They couldn't work better for me. Don't be fooled by the package size or weight. There are a lot of the wafers in this little bag and it has a press lock top seam to keep them fresh. It's a bargain.

These wafers work wonderfully with my pleco and ottocinclus. They last really long in an opened or sealed bag. I will keep buying these wafers!

I've got two tanks: the 37 gal has two good sized Chinese algae eaters, two Yo-Yo loaches and a large Rainbow shark. They all love this food. The other tank has five Cory cats and a big Pleco. algae eater like the one on the package. They eagerly go after these wafers. They do float for a bit sometimes, but you can eliminate that by just plopping the pieces into the water with a little force -and they sink. (They need to absorb a small amount of water, and then they fall right to the bottom). I got these as an "add on" when I spotted them listed and am glad for it. Tetra has been making good stuff for a very long time and this is right in line. Recommended for your catfish type critters.

Seachem Laboratories Clarity - 500mL

I was battling cloudy water for a couple of months. I tried EVERTHING. It wasnt until I read about addin polishing pads media to my fluval filter that I saw some change in clarity. I have used Seachem stability and that is a GREAT PRODUCT. I was hesitant to try Seachem clarity as I figured it might hurt my fish. I had plants in deep water culture which began showing the signs of oxygen deprivation. I was running a couple of those wally-world pumps and it wasn't getting the job done. This pump has taken care of all that, with air to spare. As for sound, it is a touch louder than the two household pumps, but not too bad at all. If you're growing in a living space, such as your bedroom or living room, it's probably too loud. But if your grow area is in your basement or a closet, you'll never notice it. I bought this for my koi pond, the heat here in the summer is pretty intense and I felt the fish would benefit from some extra oxygen! I first tested it inside. When I turned it on it sounded like a freight train! Of course my first thought was this is not going to be good!! However once I got it all installed outside the noise was minimal. Between the filter, the water falls, the birds singing etc you could not hear it. It really is powefful and my fish love it, they love hanging out in all the bubbles. I agree with the high quality. I have one that has been on constantly for 4 months now and it does get hot but no soo hot u cant touch it. It has not given any problems, it aerates multiple ponds with strong constant pressure ( although mine is a bit higher in L/hr). I am just looking for a second for another product and ran across this and felt like I should write a positive review. I was pleasantly surprised to feel some weight and finally a product that wasn't made a plastic and look like it can take some abuse. I do worry it will break but they have kits to fix them so that is another plus. I would never go back to a dual plastic Mr. cheapo model when they make these things look like they are a car part from a 1970's era hot rod. They look indestructible, the metal is solid. A bit noisy on a wooden board or i imagine cement but i think that bad characteristic is a well worth trade off.

I bought this as a replacement for another No Spill Clean and Fill that I purchased in 2002. The hose had split because of a kink in the hose that resulted from storage. The negative about this product is that it is very difficult to store. After awhile, no matter how much you unravel the hose, it will kink and be extremely difficult to roll back up. Still, the hose lasted 4 years, which makes it a decent investment.

In terms of water changes, it really depends on the size of your tanks. I have a 50 gallon, and it helps to use the Python for large water changes. *Frequent* water changes, which are supposed to increase as a result of using this product (according to Python themselves), aren't really that frequent because like I said above, it's a pain to unroll and roll back up. I would say that for anything less than 50 gallons, it's probably easier to bring out the bucket and siphon.

Overall, this is a good product. I just wish there was an easier way to store the thing.

The Python does everything it says that it will do and does it well. Unfortunately the connections are made of cheap plastic and will crack and break if you even slightly over-tighten them.

No cheap china construction. Melnor valves and high durability hose. I have 4 large koi in a 75 gallon tank, the water needs to be changed often. I use this twice a week to drain off 1/4 of the water and replenish it. Note that if you are not on a well, you have to add the appropirate amount of de toxifier manually. Prime works best.

The cylander is great for cleaing gravel, and the hose attachments are firm.

The key here is gravity, for best results you have to have a water source below the level of the tank. Out the window or in my case out the sliding glass door to a spigot outside the garage.

You twist the bottom of the spigot connector to shift from siphon to pump.

Zoo Med betta House 2 Gallon Television Style White

This is a very cute tank and a great size, but mine has a small, very steady leak on the bottom. I'm hoping I can patch it up with some aquarium sealant but I was very disappointed to set the whole thing up and then notice a very slow drip around the base. It may just be a fluke in mine because I own a 1 gallon version of the rectangle shape Zoo Med betta house and have never had a problem with it, but be sure to test the tank thoroughly with just water in it before you go through the trouble of setting it up just to have to disassemble it again.

It works only if you can figure out how to work it with limited instruction. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out that if you turn it to a 45 degree angle while the bag is submerged the suction will kick in. after the initial turn you can use it at whatever angle you wish. However if you just leave it at a 90 degree angle it wont work at all. Besides that minor issue don't shake it around as illustrated in the only crude diagram or the housing tube will fall off. If you use it in a blotting motion it works great. Hopefully this will help.

API Algae Destroyer Advanced, 8-Ounce

This product worked as described by the manufacturer. It killed and precipitated the algea without damaging the plants, snails, etc. The bottle is well-designed and well-manufactured. The amount is plentiful for a household aquarium. Make sure to follow the instructions on the bottle in terms of how much and how often to add per gallon.

I put the recommended amount in my tank 3 days ago. The first two days the water was cloudy, but I could see on day 1 that algae was clearing from the ornamental rocks (which were previously black/green with algae). On the third day the water cleared up, and even more algae had died. I will be doing the weekly 20% water change tomorrow and will add another dose, according to the directions. This stuff really works. And, I had fresh charcoal in the filter the day before I started the treatment, so not sure why other reviews say you must remove it (directions don't mention that, either). My fish were never in distress. They are a variety of tetras, cories and a lone guppie. I have tried every natural way of controlling algae I could find and nothing worked. Love this stuff.

I use this in my outdoor fish pond and it really works to keep the algae at bay. If you have a lot of algae to start with, I recommend getting rid of as much of it as possible before using this product because it will definitely kill the algae, but you will have to clean whatever filtering system several times in order for it to be able to clear the water.

It got to the point where I was desperate to rid my tank of algae. I have a 25 gallon setup, co2, canister filter, strong LED lights, well established (over 2 years), but always battled algae. I killed the blue green algae with Erythromycin. I eliminated the brown diatom algae with regular pruning and using Seachem PhosGuard in my canister filter off and on. The only thing that remained was a superfluous amount of green brush algae. Each week, I would scrub the glass and desperately try to rid it from every plant, but it kept coming back. I tried adjusting my CO2 (more) and lighting schedule (less) as best as possible, but it wasn't going anywhere. My stats were near perfect near 0 phosphates, 0 nitrate/nitrite, 0 ammonia, 0 pH. My water changes were weekly. My filter media was new (charcoal, purigen, and polishing/pond pads) with a well seasoned bunch of ceramic media at the top.

At first, I thought I was battling black beard algae and due to this I removed all my plants to wash them in a 1:5 diluted solution of Seachem Flourish Excel ("Glut") for 10 minutes. This *did* fix the problem, temporarily, but it also nearly killed my java moss and most of my HC. After a week, however, the green brush algae was back in full force. I was losing hope.

I learned about this product after reading this webpage, which I highly recommend if you are trying to get rid of algae:

The first step to battling algae is to know your enemy. I read more about the uses of Simazine for battling green brush algae and that it was an active ingredient in API's Algae Destroyer. I then read all the reviews of Algae Destroyer and learned this product had caused some very negative experiences! I decided to buy it even though I knew the risks. I was confident in the research that Simazine was the fix and this product had it. What wasn't clear was the proper dosage.

The dosage on the bottle recommends 14 drops per 10 US Gallons. I decided to start with 14, which is less than half the recommended dosage. It seems most people reviewing this product have either not read the instructions fully and dosed too much, or perhaps the proper dosage was too much stress on their fish. Or, perhaps the proper dosage DID kill the algae, but the bacteria which then break down the dead algae consumed all the O2 in the water which could be attributed to poor filtration? In any case, I'd recommend starting with a low dose, monitor closely, and then increase it slowly.

After 24 hours with a half dose, I was already seeing some of the green brush algae particularly on the leaves near the top of the tank had turned a silver/gray color indicating it had died. None of the plants, fish, or nerite snails seemed to have noticed! I cleaned the tank glass, tubes, filter media, and did a partial water change. I then proceeded to continue dosing 20 drops a day (directly into the water stream from the filter), once a day for the next 3 days. I'm happy to say the glass has remained 99% algae free (little bit at the bottom of the tank might have forgotten to clean it the first time). The leaves are MUCH better most of them still have gray hairs on them, but the vast majority have lost all green brush algae. I plan to wait a few days to let the tank consume all this dead algae and continue again with another round next week. While the story isn't complete yet, I feel confident enough to say I'd fully recommend this product if you know what algae you are battling and you start with a reduced dosing schedule.

Marina Betta Kit LED Light

This light is billed as fully submersible, so I put it on the gravel of my betta tank, shining upwards to illuminate an ornament in the tank. After only 90 DAYS, the light has quit.

I thought LEDs were supposed to last "forever!" Obviously, this one is an exception to that rule.

I'm glad it was cheap, so I didn't lose much money. I'll look elsewhere for a replacement.

I bought this light as an experiment because I had to know how well it would light up the Marina Betta Kit. I was hoping that it would illuminate the entire bowl effectively lighting up my betta so that I could see his colors better. It did not accomplish that task in the slightest.

The placement and design of the LED only allows light to shine down and backwards effectively lighting up only the back 1/4 of the bowl. The only time the fish gets any light is when it is directly under it. Furthermore the light seems to create a reflection off the back wall which agitates my betta as it is constantly trying to fight his own reflection.

I've owned both the Marina Zen cube and now the Half-moon betta "kit" aquariums. I would suggest the half-moon is a lot better, since bigger and there is a lot more room for the fish to swim. Unlike the cube one, which is just way to small (they're very pretty, but my betta could barely swim in that thing! very unhealthy).

This light really ads up a lot to the beauty of the aquarium and the fish. I've put transparent blue glass rocks at the bottom, and the light would reflect on it making beautiful blue reflections. It's very pretty. It made my aquarium look like a piece of art, and my fish seems to like it.

I only wish there was a switch button. There is none. You have to unplug it to turn it off. But I might have a work around, since I'm considering getting a timer to automatically have the light turned on and off at the right time of the day.

On a side note, this lamp will not light up nearly as well if you have the cube version of the aquarium, because of it's design (the light only lighten up the back of the aquarium). I really recommend getting the half-moon version of the aquarium for the same price, not only is it bigger (and better for the fish, plus you get enough room to have some live plants in that thing -very pretty, and the betta will love it), but the light will look a lot nicer.

However, I do think this item is way overpriced for what it is. And at the local pet store, it was even more expensive! I find this quite ridiculous when I think of it, after all it's really just a cheap LED light (probably worth like 50 cents) and a small transfomer (probably made in china for a dollar). But it makes the aquarium look so much nicer.

Quick Disconnect Double Valve for Magnum 350 Canister Filter

I got this part to use with my Vortex diatom filter to facilitate recharging it. Adding this quick-connect shut-off valve makes that chore a bit easier, but no matter how you try to clean out used diatom residue and add fresh material, its no picnic. Quality of the valves is good and the only thing that is downside is that separating the quick-connect valves can be a little difficult. Suggest lubricating them with vaseline to make this easier.

This valve assembly is a great concept, but will leak over time (6-8 months) if care and attention is not given to the o-rings. I've found that libricating/conditioning the rings with silicone lubricant will extend their life to over a year. Overall, a good product.

Finnex External Refugium/Breeder Hang-On Box/Air Pump and Air Tubes, 1-Gallon

found one at the local lfs for 16 bucks from Marina. looks exactley the same. this one does not come with a pump you will find another use for pump if you buy this one though. i did the opposite instead of going with an air pump I rigged a rio 50 pump. this is a great product all together and flows nicely into my 7.5g cube.

using the rio pump to push water into the refugium works great. granted the flow in the tank itself is poor. after many adaptations and trials, I took the air pump and simply added a control valve piece to it and wedged it between the pump and corners of tank. this allows the rio 50 to pick up a little oxygen, if set slightly below or next to it to flow into the refugium. it also causes the surface of the water to break allowing for important oxygen and carbon exchanges as well as keeping the surface clean and preventing buildup on the surface as well. the airstone with pump also causes a slight flow so water circulates is better without buying another pump. Even the smallest circulation pumps in a 7.5g or less causes a massive current. i currently have a lionfish with a few corals in it. he is currently eating the copepods and Amphipods that are in the live rock and coming out of the refugium.

You will need to go to the local lfs or hardware store for an inch long tube to connect the pump to the pipe that runs into the refugium. Also as far as noise and/or water flowing out of the back of the refugium here is a couple suggestions. Take an airline tube and slide it into the pipe just to where it makes its way out of the u bend in the pipe. So about an inch and a half to 2 inches into the pipe. point the tube that is sticking into the refugium down to the bottom. this allows the water NOT to be forced up the sides and out the back. you may also go and just buy the correct tubing to fit over the pipe and point down as well. Also on the gate where the water exits which should come with it. cut out one of the middle bars slide it back in place. I set the gate in so thaat it set where the 2nd bar from the bottom / 3rd bar from top is missing. this will take care of the overflow as well as making sure the feet on refugium are on.

Using it as a refugium off my sump. I have one of the outputs of the protein skimmer dump into it.

The airpump set up didn't move much water through it and made alot of noise so I hooked it to a power head. I had to drill some holes to allow a little extra overflow back into the tank. For the money it works great, I have a mangrove plant growing in it.

I purchased this directly from finnex and have it on the back of a 7.5 gallon Mr aqua low iron reef cube. It fits the back of the tank barely. Water volume is around 1 gallon. If you plan on storing any equipment in this small fuge then the top almost has to be removed as their is no cord room. The fuge fills up almost entirely with hardly any room left. A little shake to the tank causes a slight overflow. The fuge is built so that any overflow will occur forward back into the aquarium. This is done by the back being higher then the front by fractions of inches. I scrapped the air pump and use a hydor pico 180 gph pump. It works perfectly and I get a nice little stream through the fuge with the pump toned back all the way. Full out the fuge overflows, but the flow is much better. Definitely recommend the pico pump if you go with this as a fuge; otherwise the noise will make you purchase one anyway.

Screen works great for my bearded dragon. the exact measurement of lid is 48.5 x 13.5. the didnt make that very clear in description. Someone said the middle was plastic and paint flaked off from heat but i have no such problems. Its all metal and no paint loss yet!

If this product had come intact, I'm sure I would have been very happy with it...but, it came in horrible condition. The box looked like it had been run over, one side of the metal overlap is scraped up and slightly bent, and the other is completely unusable because it's been bent flat.

For now it will work for what I need, since I planned on unhinging it and only using half of it to hold lights for my turts anyways.

so all in all, it's a great product when it's whole, but I'm very disappointed in the delivery conditions.

(I'm not blaming Amazon for this.)

This is a good basic item, just the type we needed, and reasonably priced. The only problem we have is that the center support is plastic, and our light hood has a fixture at the same place. It melts the center support piece.

This cover was used for our 55 gallon fish tank since we were unable to find an actual tank top to fit the deminsions. The hing allowed the back part to rest on top of the filters and still able to protect the fish from the curious cats. Very sturdy product and cleans up well each month.

I was concerned when buying this that it would come in in bad shape like the other reviews say, but it did not. It was in very good shape, does not feel cheap & works perfect for my 55 gallon tank! The fact that it opens makes it alot easier to feed our turtle now! I would recommend this top!

I bought a Hydor ARIO 3 air pump about 3 years ago which finally gave up in February and stopped working. The pump functioned well enough [before it failed] that I purchased another one of the same type to replace it. Boy, what a difference 3 years makes! Three new pumps received from Amazon ... and all of them defective. The first and second pump I received did not pump air because the motor shaft was frozen up. The third one not only did not pump air, but it also shorted out and blew the circuit breaker when I submerged it in a sink full of water to test it! If this had happened in an aquarium instead of the laundry tub there would have been an expensive fish fry! This experience does not reflect poorly on Amazon; because they truly made returning the defective pumps easy and I cannot complain at all about the way I was treated by Amazon. But this brand of air pump is certainly a worthless piece of junk which is potentially hazardous (the pump is probably manufactured in China now, I'd guess) and I feel it my civic duty to share my recent experience with Hydor AREO 3 pumps. Save your money and time and buy something else if you need an air pump! I certainly will ...

This item stopped working within 2 weeks of installation. I believe the problem is with the impeller, but nothing I did would make it work again. It is a total pain to setup too.

I use Ario 2, 3, and 4's and love them all. The produce much finer bubbles than any airstone I've run which much more effectively aerates the water, and without ever clogging like airstones. They are however not for very deep water. I run mine about a foot under, and suspect two feet may be pushing it even with an Ario 4, but have not done measured testing, maybe I will and add what I find to this.....

Does not work, plain and simple. Tried every adjustment including multiple depths and varying air tube length. Junky impeller and too noisy for inside aquarium. Read crummy reviews first on the lighted versions but ignored advice. Amazon makes it easy to return, though with no postage necessary, so kudos to them.
