I had to replace a 10 year old aquarium heater, and on the advice of a pet store owner, he pointed me to this product by Petco. I have a 55 gallon aquarium, and he recommended the 300 watt size as it is efficient and will maintain a consistent water temperature no matter what the air temperature. I have found his advice to be trustworthy and true. I placed the heater in the middle of the aquarium (on the back wall it attaches with two suction cups), set the thermostat for 76 degrees, and I have not had to touch it since. It is the best heater I have had for my aquarium. It's slim design makes it less noticeable. Due to its overall length, it cannot be used in shorter walled aquariums. It will heat aquariums up to 90 gallons. The price was great too. I am sold on this product and give it 5 stars.

I give this 2 stars only because of Amazon's immediate order fulfilment, it was at our door the day after we ordered it.

Our 4500gph pondmaster filter sprung a leak and my wife suggested we try a couple of smaller filters.

This unit with UV light and pump appeared to be a good option. When this arrived I hooked it up to our pond waterfall and started the system, I expected about half the water flow we had from our other pump, however it didnt seem even close to that. I then read the packaging on the pump box and realized that although this is suppose to be an intergrated 2500 gallon system, the pump they provide delivers less than 1200 gallons. The filter has a maximium rating of 2.9 psi so we cant use our larger pump.

Bottom line is the system's capacity description is an outright lie

This product is great because it comes with everything needed to install, (pump, hoses, fittings, etc.) is easy to install, and does a great job once it is installed. It is also easy to clean and maintain. I highly recommend it.

Fits my filter very well. I'm going to give it some time to see how well it cleans. I've been using a "sock" filled with carbon. This one feels better and seems to expose more surface area to the water. I had to rinse it very well before the water would run clear. Lots of carbon dust in this. The price might be more than I want to pay compared to my aquarium sock, but, we'll see. This really is super convenient.

this really cleared up my fish tank which tends to get a brown tinge to it. My only issue (which isn't a big one) is that when you rinse it off the water turns black and this doesn't go away that's just how it is and i feel like that'll be leaking into the tank itself (which isn't to big of a deal since the water goes through it anyway) but it kept my tank clear for about a month maybe a little longer and now it needs a change.... overall a good product.

The cone shape on the top of this cleaner creates a great suction. I bought it without the reference of reveiws. I figured Marine Land would only make a great product, so I gambled. It has so much suction, you have to be careful not to suck the gravel into the waste water bucket!

I got this despite what the other reviewer said. Mainly because I myself have a betta. This tank is more than perfect for my needs. It was the cheapest tank I've seen that included everything. The net alone is worth 5 dollars and the bowl is worth like 15 so you get what you pay for but with free shipping basically. Anyways, they could have included more gravel, but it's not a big deal. The plant is good enough. The net is good enough. The bowl is great. Very large enough for a male betta. Check out the photos I uploaded so you get a better idea of what's included.

I don't know who came up with this product but clearly the responsible party does not know anything about goldfish. This 2.5G starter kit is a death chamber for goldfish. Goldfish are not hardy like the wonderful betta splendens. Goldfish are high maintenance critters. First they eat a lot of vegetation and well...what goes in must come out. In other words, they have to relieve themselves quite a bit. For their bathroom habits, goldfish requires a powerful filter which this product was not designed to hold. Secondly, goldfish are social fish. They like to be among their own kind and 2.5 gallons is not big enough for a few goldfish, let alone one goldfish. If anything you can use this start kit for betta fish but you will need a heater for it. Bettas are tropical fish whose origins are based in Thailand. They are used to warm waters in the range of 75 to 80 degrees fahrenheit. You will also need a cover because bettas are jumpers. Oh and try to do water changes every 3 days. After all fishes live in their own toilets. The ammonia in their waste does affect their health. Products like this so-called Goldfish Bowl Start Kit is an abomination. The company who makes these awful products are profiting off bad information passed around at pet stores and online. Please do your research in fish forums before you invest in a fish regardless of species. If you don't, the consequences could be fatal for the fish.

It's hard to position with the size and suction cup, but is cool when all other light are off at night and it shines through the tank making shadows of all the fish on the wall

These plants are great but are too big for the Baby Biorbs. It says so on the packaging; wish it had been in the product description.

The light green one is horrible and not at all realistic. The straight dark green one is nicer but the big golf ball weights are too big and clumsy. Not worth it there are nice fake plants to buy.

I really love how my 8 gallon BiOrb looks with these two plants added. Right now I only have one (spoiled) Beta in the tank. These are by far my favorite fake plants. My discus love to hide under the big leaf plant. I wouldn't say they look 100% real but they aren't obvious fakes like others I've seen. The ball on the bottom does a great job of weighting the plant down and is easy to bury in the rocks.

I established a 30 gallon freshwater aquarium and about two weeks after it was stocked with fish the water started to get quality. Bought this on a whim when my Coralife lighting died after 2 years, unfortunately I bought the wrong size locally. I still plugged it in and put it on my 65 gallon tank to see if it was worth ordering the right size boy was it ever! I am excited about the new light, even though it hasn't arrived yet. I had to go buy a Marineland LED Single bright in the meantime and the difference between the two is astounding! The aqueon, especially with it's changeable lights, is well worth it!

Edit: Correct size arrived, the light output is AMAZING! Don't waste your time on Marineland LED fixtures! This is more bang for the same cost, and you can change the LED strips yourself which you can't do with marineland!

I should note that I have 2 light strips in it currently, it comes with one and supports 3, so be aware of this. The initial light output is still more amazing than marinelands which has no support for extra lights. Be sure to pick up 2 more tubes of lights if you want the max light output, but you wont be disappointed with the initial light output.

It took 3 shipments but once were able to install this light we loved it (the first two arrived damaged but thanks to Amazon's easy return/replacement process we were finally able to get a good one!)!

It is very bright on the standard setting, and shines a softer bluish light for the night-light setting. It fits perfectly on our aquarium and shines a very clear/white light it isn't yellowish or "dingy" looking like some other aquarium lights can be.

The operation is simple enough that our 10 & 5 year old are both able to turn it on/off but it is not so flimsy that it can be accidentally turned on/off.

We now have very happy fish!

No problems with the set up. I have a 125 gal aquarium that is 72in long so I purchased two lights. As usual LEDs produce a brilliant white light that shows all the details. I use the moonlight feature along with a 14in blue LED light/air stone to create a beautiful night sence in my tank. I plan to add the colormax bulbs soon.

I have been interested in LED lighting for my aquariums for some time. Most are more expensiove than I would like. This one from Aqueon was just right for my budget. But beyond cost, it provides plenty of light in a pleasing color for my 65 gal aquarium and the the moonglow lights are a special treat. As soon as I want to afford it, I will be buying the size that will fit my 37 gal aquarium. I recommend this product whoelheartedly.

I am an aquarist with 5 large (>40 gallon) tanks with live plants. I grew weary of dealing with annual bulb changes and electric bills. I began researching LED lights as an alternative. The general principle is that they work well but are expensive. Then I found this light. It represents Aqueon's foray into the "moderately priced" LED market. A great priceyou get the fixture and one white bulb, but you can order two more to increase light intensity or enhance color. There was little or no information available on which bulb was correct for plants, or indeed if any of them were, but I decided to take a chance and ordered one, with two bulbs from a different supplier so I could have a "high-light" tank. This is where the fun began.

First, the fixture is actually quite nice and the single white bulb DOES allow plants to grow. They are growing slowly, but to be fair the tank is young and it sometimes takes a while for new plants to develop root systems before they take off and you spend every saturday morning trimming, and then every saturday afternoon running bags to whatever pet store wants them in exchange for credit that when you consider the gas you burned allows you to lose only slightly less money than you would have. Nice quality for the money, which is typical of Aqueon products. Not top of the line, but they work and a are a good choice if you make less than 250K a year. And the night lights are beyond cute and my corys seem to love them.

Now for the nightmare. The first bulbs arrived from a different supplier and were poorly packed and smashed to bits. The supplier was helpful and responsive, although I waited two weeks for their shipment to come in. The second replacement shipment arrived in a giant tube that was so large and so padded that they could have included an Ohio-class nuclear submarine in with the bulbs. These too were smashed beyond recognition. Clearly, the bulbs had been damaged prior to shipping.

I canceled the order and requested a refund. I am sure they are working on it. More googling revealed a rumor that Petsmart had purchased Aqueon. I liked Petsmart, except for the one time when we were there someone dumped a pit bull mix puppy in the parking lot and the manager begged for all customers to help catch it, and my daughter was the one it ran to and then it became one of those "oh s***, we now have a puppy" moments. To their credit they gave us a free vet checkup, food, and some toys for taking it home. And the pupply did turn out to be a great dog except for her eardrum splitting bark and a tail like a scythe that could clear a table full of stuff in a nanosecond. And she had prickly fur too. And she ruled the house for the next 14 years. But I digress. I figured that if Petsmart had in fact purchased Aqueon, then they were the logical people to call to find a bulb for the fixture that they were now manufacturing. Alas, a mumbling voice on the phone informed me that my 36 inch fixture had been discontinued. Back to the internet where a second bulb is now on order from a different supplier. I hope that I get one in time before the entire line is discontinued. If indeed that is true.

Aqueondecide what you are manufacturing and what you are not. Communicate this with suppliers. Find out why the bulbs are so impossible to find, why the supply is so minimal, and who is smashing them to bits. Do some research so people with just fish, fish with plants, and marine folks can make the correct choice without guessing. Include two bulbs with the fixture even if you have to raise the price a bit. Or make it an option. Research manufacturing specific bulbs with specific spectrums for different applications. Solve the bulb problem, and you will sell a zillion of these because they have the potential to be the only decently priced LED fixture on the market. And one that is of very nice quality for the price.

Marina Betta Kit LED Light

This light is billed as fully submersible, so I put it on the gravel of my betta tank, shining upwards to illuminate an ornament in the tank. After only 90 DAYS, the light has quit.

I thought LEDs were supposed to last "forever!" Obviously, this one is an exception to that rule.

I'm glad it was cheap, so I didn't lose much money. I'll look elsewhere for a replacement.

I bought this light as an experiment because I had to know how well it would light up the Marina Betta Kit. I was hoping that it would illuminate the entire bowl effectively lighting up my betta so that I could see his colors better. It did not accomplish that task in the slightest.

The placement and design of the LED only allows light to shine down and backwards effectively lighting up only the back 1/4 of the bowl. The only time the fish gets any light is when it is directly under it. Furthermore the light seems to create a reflection off the back wall which agitates my betta as it is constantly trying to fight his own reflection.

I've owned both the Marina Zen cube and now the Half-moon betta "kit" aquariums. I would suggest the half-moon is a lot better, since bigger and there is a lot more room for the fish to swim. Unlike the cube one, which is just way to small (they're very pretty, but my betta could barely swim in that thing! very unhealthy).

This light really ads up a lot to the beauty of the aquarium and the fish. I've put transparent blue glass rocks at the bottom, and the light would reflect on it making beautiful blue reflections. It's very pretty. It made my aquarium look like a piece of art, and my fish seems to like it.

I only wish there was a switch button. There is none. You have to unplug it to turn it off. But I might have a work around, since I'm considering getting a timer to automatically have the light turned on and off at the right time of the day.

On a side note, this lamp will not light up nearly as well if you have the cube version of the aquarium, because of it's design (the light only lighten up the back of the aquarium). I really recommend getting the half-moon version of the aquarium for the same price, not only is it bigger (and better for the fish, plus you get enough room to have some live plants in that thing -very pretty, and the betta will love it), but the light will look a lot nicer.

However, I do think this item is way overpriced for what it is. And at the local pet store, it was even more expensive! I find this quite ridiculous when I think of it, after all it's really just a cheap LED light (probably worth like 50 cents) and a small transfomer (probably made in china for a dollar). But it makes the aquarium look so much nicer.

I had a couple of goldfish dumped on me and was cleaning their bowl every other day. This filter keeps the water clean and sanitary for them until I can get them a larger aquarium for them. I've been very happy with it for the price I paid. Reviews on other sites have indicated this is a loud filter but I find it to be very quiet all you can hear are bubbles. It's perfect for my office desk.

Although I cannot rate the quality of this (because I received an incomplete kit), I was surprised that Amazon sold me a used unit that was clearly unusable. It was missing the right bubbler stone and didn't have the main tube for the bubbles to raise in the bowl. But I do appreciate that Amazon has a great return program.

Trap holes are to large. Fry get stuck in holes or just go thru into main tank. Bottom blocking floor holes cover floats up and down with water movement killing baby fish. Come on people this isnt rocket science. Build them better.

I actually purchased this with the plan of using it as an in-tank refugium (salt-water tank), and it looks like it will be just fine for what I want it to do. In fact, with the way it sits in the tank, I might be tempted to start growing some Mangroves out of it as well. The one thing that kind of bugs me is the "hooks": they're nice because you can bend them to your tank rim, but they're a little short which doesn't leave much room for height/depth adjustability. Plus, the way the box attaches to the hooks (just sits on their via slots on the back), isn't all that secure; especially since the box floats a tiny bit with the current. So if the manufacturer provided a rigid box-to-hook connection and gave anywhere from 3-6 inches more length for the hooks (would also allow me to create extra bends, which would also allow the box to sit flatter against the glass...hopefully), I would give this 5 stars, but currently, I'll stick with my slightly generous 4 star rating.
