I purchased this product on line. I put it in my tank. I checked the digital temperature shown against two thermometers. They all agreed. I like that it is very very easy to read my tank temperature and the temperature set on the heater. It is simple to set the heater temperature, just press a button multiple times. After about one month it stopped working. It was replaced with a new one by the original supplier. Only three stars because it broke early.

This heater cost me several thousand dollars in saltwater fish. I bought it for my 175 gallon tank. it reset itself at 88 degrees. I was out of town for the night and when I returned emagine my suprprise when the temp was so high and many fish dying on bottom of tank due to stress in temp change. I reset it to 79 degrees wondering what could of caused it to reset at 88. several days later it did the same thing Thank heavens I was home and caught it in time to save my remaining fish. Needless to say it is no longer heating my saltwater tank and I have logged a complaint with the company. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. I had my fish for many years and they ere show quality. I was a sad day.

I purchased this aquarium heater on October 13, 2012. As soon as I got it, I put it in my 150 gallon tank. It worked great until 2 days ago (December 19, 2012). It comes on long enough to tell me my tank is 10 degrees colder than it's supposed to be...then it just goes back off. 3 months isn't long enough for this thing to work. I'm disappointed and won't buy another one of this brand. I wouldn't recommend you do either!

I have ordered this product before with no problems. in fact, it worked great every time... except this last time. The filter works great but the solutions included did not. it said "new improved algae control" & said that it may be cloudy at first but will clear up. It has the worst algae control, the algae came back in a few days and got progressively worse in just a week or two compared to months before. The "cloudiness" from the solution was terrible and took almost 2 days to clear instead of a few hours as stated on the package. I had to use the included solutions since I added a good amount of water after cleaning it. My fish is fine but I was disappointed at the whole result. I did not move the tank, nor changed any of the lighting in the room so I am not sure what the problem was but I have never seen that "cloudiness" before when using the included solutions. I cannot purchase this filter from the store any longer so I will have to order again through amazon. I think I may just not use the solution since the filter works great but wonder why that happened?

This was a terrific value and it hleps having the extras on hand since I never seemed to have any filters when I really needed them.

Love my biorb tank. I have the 16 gallon, and these service kits are wonderful. I have not found any in stores near me, and am glad they are available here on amazon, and hope that they continue to be. I just do a 1/3 water change, change the filter and am good to go. I change the filter about every 8 weeks. If it becomes super dirty earlier, I just rinse it off, and put it back in...does the trick.

Ok, just to set something straight, aquarium hoods ARE NOT measured by how many gallons the tank holds. Many reviewers are confusing this fact. Aquarium hoods are and always have been measured in inches. Just because it says 20 in the product description does NOT mean this will fit on a 20 gallon tank. It does however imply that the hood WILL fit on a tank that is 20" long. As all aquarium enthusiasts know, all 10, 20, 40, 55, etc etc tanks are not created equal. There are 20 gallon standard tanks, and then there are 20 gallon tall tanks, and of course the 20 gallon long tanks. This is true of pretty much all tanks where there are standard, tall, and long versions. I wont even get into the other variations such as bow-front and hex tanks, my point being is that yes the description of the product says 20, however 99.99% of the time that number will always refer to the length of the hood in inches and not the amount of gallons the tank holds.

As another reviewer mentioned the hood is 19.5" long, which means it will fit a standard 20" x 10" framed tank perfectly.

This is much better than the plastic one my aquarium came with. It is lightweight, easy to clean, I have not noticed any water evaporation ever since I installed this, and I can customize the back where the filters, etc., are stored using only a scissor. I definitely recommend this for anyone to use.

The product arrived a day early and was protected well. It does require a very minimal amount of assembly, but well worth the money. It fits my ten gallon tank and keeps the humidity elevated consistently (almost too well). Additionally, there is a plastic sheath that is the back 1/4 of the cover. This allows airflow and humidity regulation. Moreover, the lid folds over in the middle allowing easy access. Here's a breakdown:

Be careful when you order this item. I ordered mine and it came broken, probably due to the long commute and insufficient protective packaging. I ordered a replacement and so far so good. The only thing is, the color in the picture, is not what the actual decoration looks like. In fact it is much darker, but nevertheless its still a nice decoration.

The picture is definitely not accurate as far as coloring. It's much darker in real life. Also the shape is a bit odd as it allows fish to hide too much. I thought my frogs had been eaten by my other fish but they were just hiding way up inside this castle.

Tetra Whisper EX Filter

I have 7 tanks set up all with power filters. Half of my power filter is tetra EX. They have been in this line of business for a long time and have been known to be reliable and trust worthy.

Power filter that hang at the back of the tank are design for aquarium of 5 to 80 gallons. For tanks of 10 to 55 gallon I definitely would say power filter is the best type of filter for them. You should get a power filter that is rated twice the size of your tank and may be even up to 3 times if you have a lot of "living things" in your tank. So the EX 30 is perfect for 10 gallon tanks and reasonable for 20 gallon tanks.

Power filter performs three filtration functions, mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. Each type of power filter has its advantage and disadvantages and none is perfect for all three functions. The EX is good in mechanical and chemical filtration and is great for biological filtration. The chemical filtration is great if you use bio bag and added more chemicals inside the bag instead of using the sealed cartridge. The sealed cartridge is more expensive but easier to handle. The bio bag is more time consuming to use but you can add more and different types of chemicals and I think the mechanical filtrations is also better. (The carbon that comes with the bio bag is the same amount as in the seal cartridge and you should add a lot more chemicals to the bio bag and I like the Ammo-Carbon) Another advantage of the bio bag is if you need to remove the carbon for some medication you can just empty the chemical out of the bag and keep the bag for mechanical filtration. If you use the sealed cartridge you have to remove the whole cartridge and lost the mechanical filtration (or replace it with an empty bio bag).

The noise level of the EX is better than most other power filters. The best power filter especially in mechanical filtrations is Aqua Clear. Unfortunately Aqua Clear has one big disadvantage. It will not restart by itself after a power failure. You need a UPS (uninterrupted power supply used by computer system) to make sure if you lost power for a short period of time the Aqua Clear stays working. If you do not have an UPS using Aqua Clear is a big risk and if there is a power failure and you are away for a few days you may lost your whole tank.

I bought 4 other power filters before this one. They either failed within a year and/or were loud and not doing a good job of cleaning the tank. I finally came across this one and it's a keeper. It's really quiet, does a thorough job of filtering the water and keeping it clear, especially if I replace the filter regularly. I use this for an aquatic turtle tank and they are difficult to keep clean but this pump does the job. I used to have to buy a new power filter every 9 or 12 months due to failure but I've had the Whisper EX30 for 2 years now and it's still going strong and still quiet !

I was battling cloudy water for a couple of months. I tried EVERTHING. It wasnt until I read about addin polishing pads media to my fluval filter that I saw some change in clarity. I have used Seachem stability and that is a GREAT PRODUCT. I was hesitant to try Seachem clarity as I figured it might hurt my fish. I added 2 caps of clarity to my 35 gallon freshwater tank and withing 2 hours it was crystal clear! Fish are alive and well! I highly reccomend. Seachem products are excellent!

I have been keeping aquariums for many years and have always been leery of additives of any kind. Several months ago I started a new 90 gallon freshwater tank and have had troubles with cloudy water for most of that time. The bird bath is robust and fine but we were led to believe that it would fit any cage and it wont fit either of our Cockatiel cages so we are disappointed as it has to sit on the floor of the cage and not in the door hole. I've had this filter for 2 months now. I use this filter for my 5-gallon tank and it keeps the water crystal clear. I also enjoy the quality aeration it produces in the water so I never need to buy an air pump. Additionally, I have a very small room so the only location I have for my aquarium is next to my bed, and though I'm sensitive to noises, I sleep with no disruptions. I thoroughly enjoy this little compact filter.

The only hiccup is that the filter cartridges for this model are not sold anywhere, but Tetra's small Bio-bag filter cartridges work just fine. Still, this hiccup doesn't affect my satisfaction of this little filter.

This is a very good filter, but it has a short life, at least for me. My second Mini Might Filter just crapped out on me. Don't know if it's something I'm doing, or it's just a bad product, because it is a good filter. I've had this one for a bit more than a month, and it's having the same problem as my last filter. It makes this awful Darth-Vader sucking noise. That's the best way to describe it. Still seems to filter, but that terrible noise! I feel so bad for my fish to have to endure that :( All the other filters I have seen have been huge, I want a tiny filter, but this one isn't working!

I've had this for a long time. It filters very well for a little one, and is so tiny, it hardly takes up any space. The odd sucking noise is not the filters fault, it happens with any filter that is exposed above air. To rid any filter of that noise, stick it under the water, like it should be.

API Goldfish Pellet

I have tried many different goldfish food and this seems to be the only one my goldfish will eat. I have 6 goldfish that are about 6 inches long. i have had them in my outdoor pond since they were fries and for whatever reason they only it this stuff. The 7oz container is a good size and last long enough. the food does not cloud the water and it does not float. My goldfish look healthy and have a bright color. so as long as they keep eating it ill keep buying it.

I have tried other brands of goldfish food and this is the only brand that my gold fish will eat up in seconds. Since I started feeding this to my gold fishes, their color have become brighter and they look so much healthier. My gold fishes are in an outdoor pond and this food does not change the color of the water or make the water murky.

Teddy Tank Frog Betta Fish Tank 8-Piece Premium Package

It looks smaller than 1gal but it really is 1gallon. It is roomy enough for a small filter and heater (which you will need if you don't want the fish to die in a few months) and the head had a convienant place for the cords to go through. Doesn't have a lid to keep the stuffed frog from getting wet but I used aluminum foil with and ceran wrap to fix it.
