This is a well made and realistic looking tree when you put it in the water. I've given up silk because they look good for only a temporary amount of time and take more time to clean than they're worth. So I've gone to a mixture of real plants and some plastic. The well made plastic ones, such as this, match and tend to blend into the landscape of my aquariums well.

The star isn't as yellow as shown in the photo. The one I received is green on the center with yellow only on the outer edges. Also one point of the star is not even half the length of the other 4 points. Having one a little shorter is fine, but it's so short it's looks lopsided and just plain odd. Not as nice as photo portrays it. I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

Im and avid fish and shrimp hobbyist. And for exotic shrimp they must have the cleanest water possible. This thing is small, easy to setup and no power required. It only has a hose connector, in the winter you shouldnt run your hose or risk freezing up your pipes. So simply got to the lowe's and buy a hose adapter for your faucet aerator. It costs like $4. The out put is slow but steady and in WA after the TDS reads about 110 or so out of the tap after it runs through the RO unit it is down to 5!!! I wish I got this sooner.
I bought the 10" light to replace my dual T5 fixture. The good price, small size, with a generous quantity of LED for the size all convinced me to try this brand and light. It was packed well and was VERY Bright, to my eye it was brighter than my Dual T5's. I was a little worried with them being 7000k, but it doesn't look more blue than I think it should. It has been on the tank for over a week(almost two) as of writing this review and I've seen no slowdown in new growth with my plants, the stem plants are actually starting to grow faster with this light. I would recommend the light and will be trying the Ray2 HO led fixture on my next tank. I will update in a couple months to let you know how the light works in the long term. For now it gets 5 stars.

I was looking for a LED alternative to modify my 28G Nano cube from a HID lamp to LED. I purchased two lights and these 10" lights fit the space available and are saving me a fortune in electricity now that I am using a few watts compared to 175w. Also the tank seems to be much clearer now that the light balance is different, corals are happy and the color of the fish is great. I am also looking forward to saving on the summers electric bill as I will not be running the chiller this year since these lights covert little to heat.
Once I figured out how to fill it back up without spilling food everywhere it has been great. I use on a 55 gallon tank to feed twice a day. One less thing to worry about.

This was a really good price, and was nice that it fit into the stock light on my tank. However, my plants really didn't like this light. They all died, and I am incredibly disappointed. I'm just going to use the regular florescent bulbs for now. Which made the tank look nicer in my opinion. This Zoo Med bulb brought out the red in the tank, which I didn't like. I received the product right away. It fit my aquarium perfectly. The fish think they are sun bathing. The aquarium looks even better. The plants have taken on new growth. Everyone is happy!! Yeah!
I agree this product is gooey, and sinks to the botttom of the tank. However i have feed it to my betta fry approx. 1 month old fry andthey have doubled in size. Their color has really came out also. I challenge anyone to just try this food for any fry and see how it works.
I purchased two of these TLF reactors so that I could run them in series. I decided to run D-Nitrate in One and Activated Carbon in the other to try and bring the Nitrate/Nitrite numbers down in my 75 gallon ref. To early to tell yet whether these two have actually reduced my numbers, but there is no doubt that the water in the tank is now more crystal clear than before. Is it the carbon in the reactor along with less feeding that is clearing up the water cloumn, or is it just the fact that the Reef is now more mature than it was before this installation? Only time will tell how effective these are in reducing the Nitrate level in the reef. As for hooking them up in series, they do require some minor engineering and plumbing alterations, but if you are adpt at working with a refugium, and a somewhat sophisticated sump, this should be a piece of cake. I say should because I have a great plumbing supply house nearby, with a great salesman who will stop at nothing to keep the number of pieces in play to get this running at a minimum. If you only have a Lowes or Home Depot nearby, or a good hardware store, you can generally find the necessary items there to accomplish the task. I would have rated these a 5 "Star" item had I found the inclusion of the necessary plumbing parts included in the original packaging. As far as bang for the buck is concerned, these certainly meet that criteria and i would highly reccommend them to other mixed reef keepers looking to inexpensively add Phosphate or nitrate reactors to their systems.

Just like other reviews say, it does exactly what it says it does in a durable fahion. Evenly pass water through your phosphate media to get rid of of phosphates and ultimately control algae. Very happy with mine. The cost of buying 3 of these is the same as one of the more High class reactors. This comes with everything you need except for the pump.
This stuff does not have the proper levels of salt for your hermit crab. You are better off buying Instant Ocean and mixing 1/2 a cup per gallon of water.

I put two of these in my 15 gallon tank for my blue ram cichlids, they apparently don't give a rat's ass about them, since they never go in them. In fact, none of my fish do, but they do look neat next to this statue that is in the tank made of the same material. I bought this as a base to hold the water wonders line of plants. It started out great good look and just the size I wanted but the paint did not last long. about 2 months after I placed in the fish tank the color just started dissappeareing and the grey plastic shows all over.
I cannot blame this on the product only the description. It states for fresh and salt water aquariums but when I received it surprise surprise it was for fresh water only. I have a fresh water planted tank so I'm not completely out of luck, ill give it a go in there and see what happens, but once again I'm giving it one star because of the false description not because of the product itself which looks capable.

I use to have such a headache dealing with the ammonia spikes in my tank, and this helps significantly! Best part is that you just need to throw it in your filter and not have to worry about it. Just change it with every tank change, or every month.I've been trimming Accurel Ammonia Reducing pads to fit my aquarium filter for a couple of months. Prior to this, I had a constant problem with creeping ammonia levels in the fish tank. I have a 5-1/2 gallon tank with two Cory catfish and four fancy guppies. Since I've added the Accurel to my filter, there hasn't been a problem with the water balance. The ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates remain at -0-. The pads themselves are very easy to handle. They cut easily, but are quite stiff which makes it very easy to insert them into the slots in my filter. I've tried to contact Accurel to find out how long these pads are effective, but I believe their customer service department is a myth. I've had no response, and there seems to be no way to have a direct chat. In the meantime, I change it out once a week just to be on the safe side. In spite of their customer support scoring a zero, their reasonably priced product is well worth 5 stars and I recommend it.Not only can you cut them to fit your filter, but these are some of the best constructed filters I've ever gotten!! They have been in my weirs a couple days and they still are ridged and sturdy. Most would have already become flimsy.
I have a small 5 gallon acrylic aquarium and bought this because it was supposed to be safe for acrylic. It left fine scratches in my aquarium. The scratches are on the inside of the tank so now I'm stuck with them until one day I drain the tank to try and repair it (which is not going to happen anytime soon). Stay away from this.

The driftwood is large. Like others who have bought this item, the piece that I received was more beautiful than the one that is pictured. It is a new piece which will leak Tannis into the the water causing the water to turn a brownish color. Some people do not like this, however, it is a natural process and in many cases helps your fish, depending on where they come from. Some fish require a "Black Water" effect which Tannis does provide. It does cause the water to become a little acidic. Mostly, it depends on if your tank was balanced or not. (A truly balanced tank should be at a neutral pH due to acidic and alkaline processes balancing each other out. Example: Nitrification by bacteria causes the water lower in pH; while photosynthesis from plants and algae causes an increase in pH.)

Just wanted to let other fish people know, this filter is the same size & shape as the Marineland Mini Penguin Cartridge.
I'm giving this product 5 stars for one reason and one reason only, to make up for the people who can't be bother to read the actual product descriptions before they make purchases and then give the products one star. I figure that if I give it 5, the it will average off to 3 stars to offset their ignorance. If the actual product description is read, nowhere does it state that a pump is included. The description lists what is included, and adapters for various pumps are listed, it even tells you what gph pumps to use it with but it never states that a pump is included. Yes, a few of the pictures show a pump, illustrating how the filter should be plumbed together, yet these same illustrations show rocks, grass, a pond and trees and I wouldn't expect any of that to be included, so why would I expect anything else that the product description specifically does not state is included to be included? I wouldn't, but then again I am moderately intelligent (or at least not completely stupid), so I read descriptions, and if I'm not sure about a product, I may even google it and read manufacturers descriptions, other sellers descriptions and other websites reviews before I make a purchase. I've been know to visit a local store that carries the product to actually look at it up close before making a purchase. I think it's called being an "informed consumer". There is no excuse for giving a product a low rating for not including something if you are too lazy to actually read the description of that product to see if it is included.

First off This filter wants to float a little I put a rock in mine under the foam insert this fixed the issue. You can probably use gravel or a rock on top or Partially bury it under rocks or wedge it under or agents something. Other than that I own one of these box filters in my pond works great the foam insert is easy to clean off with a hose.
