Seio P320 Prop Pump with Magnet Mount, 320 GPH

Seio P320 Prop Pump with Magnet Mount, 320 GPHThe pump works quietly and moves a reasonable amount of water I suppose. I have it in a small 10 gallon salt tank used as a quarantine tank. It would take 2 of these pumps to support a 20 gallon properly. I doubt its 320 gph rating. It would mean its turning this little tank over 32 times per hour. I don't think so. It probably is putting out 190 to 200 gph. The water output is okay for my needs in this case though.

However the mounting system leaves something to be desired. Because the heavy power cord exits the rear of the motor housing, it cannot be mounted on the side of the tank if the powerhead is pointed so it blows lengthwise in the tank. It must be mounted on the rear wall of the tank and the powerhead has to be turned 90 deg. Even when you do that if you don't let the power cord go straight back for 6 to 8 inches before turning up and out the top of the tank, the stiffness of the cord overpowers the magnet mount and the powerhead points downward. This causes a sandstorm, and messes up your tank. I realize this is a $15 product, but their entire line of powerheads have this shortcoming. It would not be expensive to redesign the power cord so it wouldn't cause this problem.

The magnetic mount is a vast improvement over a suction cup method of retaining the pump to the wall of the tank. Hydor Korilla uses a magnetic mount that also incorporates a large suction cup. It does cost $25-$30 though. I would think Seio could incorporate a suction cup into the magnetic mount without doubling the cost of the unit.

I know it sounds like I'm knitpicking, but you only want a powerhead for one thing--move water in a controlled manner. Because of the mounting shortcomings, one is limited in the amount of control they have over the water movement direction. It does move water efficiently and quietly. And it is more controllable than most of the powerheads in this price range, but I'll spend the extra $10 to $15 next time, and buy another Hydor Korilla 425.

An excellent pump for the money, the Seio Taam p320 delivers excellent flow over a wide area to keep your fish and or corals happily blowing in the current. At 320 gph flow is non adjustable and the pump is easily diassembled for maintenance and cleaning. Perhaps one of the heaviest power cords on any pump out there, it may be a bit cumbersome and tends to redirect and move the pump until a good bend is achieved where it exits the aquarium. Magnetic mount works well on small aquariums but still seems a bit weak. Overall an excellant choice for the nano reefer wanting good flow on a small tank.

Buy Seio P320 Prop Pump with Magnet Mount, 320 GPH Now

I got this for my 14g nano cube because it appeared to be small and compact. I like having the magnet on the outside of the glass, it makes it easier to move around. The first day/night everything was cool, the flow was decent and I didnt really hear anything. Day 2 the pump sounded like something had broken, it was making a loud grinding sound and I couldnt get it to stop. Although a nice design and somewhat compact and good for small tanks, I think its made with cheap parts. If you dont mind the loud noise and want to save a few bucks buy it, but youre probably better off getting a korilia.

Seascape Double Sided Aquarium Background - 24 in. High - (Sold by foot)

Seascape Double Sided Aquarium Background - 24 in. High -I HIGHLY recommend this unique, 3D take on an aquarium background.

The idea: simple and beautiful. Take a super-bright photo with dimension and use it as a background for an aquarium tank. Why didn't anybody ever think of this before?

Once installed, the background gives the illusion that you are looking into some kind of portal into the actual ocean, further amplifying the already escape-inducing effects of viewing an aquarium.

I bought this 3D aquarium background as a part of an aquarium set up, a gift to my son on his eighth birthday.

The blue color is stunning, the perfect shade of blue, with all the details and shadows of ripples of water. It is a high-voltage blue, especially when lit with blue LED lights.

The picture is large to accommodate various tank sizes, but worked just fine in my son's little 10 gallon tank. I just trimmed it down some on the top and bottom. The effect is the same no matter the tank size, as long as you center the darkest part in the middle of the tank.

The background gives the illusion of really being there, in the water, with the fish. The foreground fades to a deep blue, adding depth, like the water in the tank goes as far as the eye can see. The top looks exactly like the surface of the water when viewed from underneath, and then the bottom is detailed with endless sand ridges from the waves.

Extremely beautiful. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Well worth the money!

Oh, don't forget to seal it with Sea View Aquarium Sealer. It isn't a perfect product, but far superior to just taping the background up on the back of your tank. The sealer is key to getting the full 3D effect of this background.

Enjoy, lil' fishies!

Love the background. It was shipped very quickly, and once applied, it looks beautiful!!! Highly recommend! Be sure and put how many feet you need, when you order. I forgot initially, and realized my mistake in time to cancel it, then reorder appropriately! Looks best if applied using background mounting and illumination gel.

Buy Seascape Double Sided Aquarium Background - 24 in. High - (Sold by foot) Now

I wanted the blue side. Unfortunately the black side is darker so when you light the aquarium, the darker side shows through. So, if you like the black ground with the branches (which camoflages black filters and themometers nicely, it's fine.

The only benefit I see to having the blue ground also, then, is that when you wrap it around the sides like I did, from the side of the aquarium, you see the blue instead of plain paper.

Unless you plan on not lighting your aquarium, don't plan on being able to use the blue ground.

The wording in this is deceptive and honestly fraud in my opinion. The picture on here when I bought this was not what I received. That in itself is fraud to me. you cant have a pictures of something 6 feet long and then send something 1/3 of the size. sold by the foot can mean a lot of things and if you want to sell it that way fine but dont put a picture of something much bigger. I need 6 feet and what I got is useless. People like this should not be allowed to sell on amazon

Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch

Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-InchBought this light for my son's deep 25 gallon tank after looking at inferior and overpriced units available at my local chain pet stores & online. It was a replacement for the dim florescent tube light that came with the tank. What a difference!!! The tank is so bright it actually looks like natural sunlight (it will actually cause you to see spots for a few minutes if you look at it straight on when lit). We have been using the light daily for about 3 months now and it is still working flawlessly. The light is bright enough to support the growth of a few Amazon swords, onion plants, and a couple of unnamed tubers. The light fixture is small, solid, and sleek looking-it is a definite improvement over the old black plastic box that was there before. I purposely waited some time to see if this light would hold-up before writing a product review to be sure I was not recommending another disappointing aquarium light system. After a few months of daily, sustained use I am pleased to report it has there are no still no problems with the light. All the LEDs are still functioning and there has been no issues with the light's performance whatsoever thus far. The only word of caution I would offer is that be very careful with the light duration. We started the light on a 12 hour daily cycle from the start and there was significant green algae growth problems on all surfaces of the tank, gravel, plants, and lid. We finally got the algae under control and are currently running it for 7-8 hour daily cycles without algae growth. If you are looking to add some punch to your tank without spending some major cash upgrade your lighting with this light.

I chose this to replace my large and unsightly fluorescent fixture (dual T5HO) based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews I had read on the internet and my own experience with the Fugeray on another tank. The Ray2 doesn't disappoint! Super slim, super bright, and has the look and feel of a much more expensive unit. Finnex knows how to get it right. Plus, they provide PAR data for their lights so the buyer can make sure the light will be appropriate for each particular aquarium setup. I am now using this on a 10 gallon that is 20" wide, so there is some goofy looking protrusion from each side, but the adjustable legs make it work.

Recommended for anyone looking for high light in a slim platform. Do your research to make sure high light intensity will work in your tank, and if so, you will be pleased with the Ray2.

Buy Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch Now

There aren't many aquarium lights that are this inexpensive, that actually work as well as this one does. I love the thin, low profile look of it, and the light output of the 7k/7k daylight model is great for my planted tank. In the 2 weeks I've had the light, my plants have responded by growing taller, and bushier, than they ever were before. My fish also look much more vibrant, and colorful than they ever did with my previous light.

My ONLY gripe about it, is that the power cord is too short. I had to use an extension cord with it in order to plug it in. The cord needs to be about twice as long. I'm still giving it 5 stars though, because the price to performance value is incredible!

I absolutely love this light! Would have preferred to get the double bright version, but this works well enough.

Gives me moderate/high light in my 28 gallon bowfront, haven't noticed any of my plants pearling yet, but I have noticed an immense growth rate change since changing over to this from a single tube aqueon t8.

Attaches to the rim of the tank nicely though the screws seem somewhat of a cheap quality, it holds steady and is high enough off the tank to avoid splashing from the filter and fish occasionally jumping.

It has come highly recommended to me from many people on fish forums, and now I'm highly recommending it to everyone else!

Want Finnex Ray2 Aquarium LED Daylight, 24-Inch Discount?

This company was MORE than helpful to make sure everything was right with my purchase. I love this light, I have two on top of my 72 gallon bowfront tank. The lights are so bright, I keep my lights on 6-8 hrs max or I'd grow algae. My plants are growing fast too!

Penn Plax Large Striped Sail Shipwreck Fish Tank Ornament Decoration

Penn Plax Large Striped Sail Shipwreck Fish Tank Ornament DecorationThis is a big ship!! The dimensions should have been on the writen advertisement. Sadly, I am having to buy a taller tank to hold the ship. Tounge-in-cheek!! You know I wouldn't buy a new tank if I didn't love the ship. The dimensions on the ship: 21 inches at the top of the tall mast. 27" in length with the two pieces of the ship pushed together.

This is an outstanding decoration for a large aquarium. It looks great in my 200 gallon saltwater aquarium. The detail and workmanship are very nice. I recommend it highly!

I really like this aquarium net that Tetra put out. It is similar to the net that Marina makes in that it looks like it has the same exact mesh size and material, even the plastic at the tip of the handle is the same. In fact every thing is just about the same, except it seems as though the handle on the Tetra is made a little thicker. This is a longer handled net though (than Marina's offerings) which allows me to get into most of my aquariums without even getting my hand wet. The mesh is a perfect size and doesn't harm the fish in any way. Not much to say because it is just a good old aquarium net.

Tetra Whisper Power Filter 20, 20-Gallon

Tetra Whisper Power Filter 20, 20-GallonI have had a bunch of whisper filters, and I loved every one. I see one guy managed to not be able to comprehend how to get it started...there's always one. Whispers are good filters, one bad review does not a story make, I highly recommend these filters based on twenty years of experience keeping fresh and saltwater reef tanks (but not for reef tanks, they have their own requirements and box filters won't do it) For freshwater tanks, these are excellent filters, ok that's basically it in a nutshell.

This filter keeps my tank crystal clear, and cost me very little compared to a lot of the other filters out there. Quieter than I expected for the price, and the filter cartridges are the easiest to change. Great buy!

When I bought this filter it was working perfectly and was really quite. I took my tank down and put the filter up for two months, when I set my tank back up and hook this filter back up it was extremely loud. I've tried jiggling the intake tube, pulling it up slightly and letting it catch on it's own instead of me forcing the impeller in place, still no luck. I don't know why this happened but the filter started off great. Even with the loud noise it still cleans the tank well.

This is a great little filter for my 10 gallon. I love the fact that you have a control on top even for this small of an filter. I turn it down while i'm feeding and then turn it back up when they're done eating. Nice little filter, the only thing that would make it a 5 star is if they would have put an extension piece for an option like the larger filters. It sits about 4 inches above my gravel in the 10gallon.

Aquatop D2HT-200 Aquarium Heater Digital Dual Display, 200-Watt

Aquatop D2HT-200 Aquarium Heater Digital Dual Display, 200-WattI purchased this heater in August of this year. I got home this evening to find the fish in our 55g aquarium acting sluggish. A peak at the thermometer shows 68 degrees F (normal temp is 79). The lights were all off on this heater. I checked to be certain it was plugged in. It was. I tried a different outlet and it came on for about 2 seconds and went back off.

I took it to the sink where I submersed it again, and then plugged it up. It came on and began heating. I let it go for about 10 minutes and it was still working. I just put it back in my aquarium and it appears to be working again. But gee what if I had not looked closely at the tank? I'm about to head out of town and don't think I can trust this thing. Arrrgghh.

My fish had a case of ick so i needed to raise my water temp to 82.My other heater wouldnt heat past 77.Ordered this heater and put it in and in 3 hrs i had 82 degree water.I am going to replace my other aquarium heaters with these in case i need to raise water temp on those some day.Yes they do vary in temp a couple degrees but that is not near enough difference to harm the fish i keep.

Buy Aquatop D2HT-200 Aquarium Heater Digital Dual Display, 200-Watt Now

Good concept if heat worked more than 6 months. Bought 3 200 watt and 8 100 watt heaters all failed after 6 months of use. Breed Angels and can not depend on them. Start to flash 90 deg-water temp is really 68 will not reset even if unplugged and plugged back in. Sent 8 back to aqua-top still waiting to here back. Stick with old school ones. Had to replace all aqua-tops!!!!

Programming the temperature on here was a snap, and considering that the tank sits right next to the door that we let the dog in and out from, and we're getting into the cold part of the midwest winter the fact that the temp never deviates from that 81 degrees has made keeping the aquarium a snap. Love it.

I had mine for just under a year. I love the looks of this heater. The dual LED displays are great, and it has worked flawlessly up to today. I noticed condensation on the interior glass over the past few months. Today the heater shuts off (fuse?) after running a couple hours. I reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Again a couple hours and it shuts off. It seems these heaters have some quality control issues. Shame because there is no other heater on the market that looks as cool.

Kordon Fish Protector

Kordon Fish ProtectorI have been using this product for about a year now after discovering it in small 4 oz bottles at a pet store (in another city). Fortunately, I was able to find the 16 oz. bottles online. I use this whenever I notice any kind of stress and even take it along with me when I go fish shopping in other cities ("have bucket will travel"). This product calms any fish that shows agitation or aggression and aids healing. I have used other Kordon's products since 2006 and have been very happy with them as well. I have asked local stores to try to stock the product, but so far, haven't had any luck (one would order a whole case for me! but the price per bottle was quite a bit higher than what I pay on line...I continue to order online).

Note: This is not a de-chlorinater you will still need other products for that.

This is seriously the best thing ever created for fish!!!(Saltwater AND Freshwater) I used to go through so many bottles of this stuff until it's recently been out of stock and not being reordered at any of our Petsmart's or Petco's. But it's great for so many things like if you have a violent fish attacking another one, you can pour in a bunch of this stuff to calm them down and mellow out. It's like a stress coat but better because you can't overdose with it!!!! This stuff has saved so many of my fish, and it's perfect for when you're transferring a fish from one tank to another. ( I usually put them in a bowl with half a capful of Fish protector and slowly introduce the new water). Awesome product!!!!

Buy Kordon Fish Protector Now

This stuff is a big help in fighting fin erosion when your fish are under stress from illness. Kordon claims on the label that the polymer coating absorbs methylene blue, malachite green, nitrofurozone and antibiotics like tetracycline and acts as a carrier for the medications. My own experience in treating velvet is that without this stuff I lost a veil tale to stunningly rapid bacterial fin erosion down to the roots, and with this stuff, fin erosion halted and I did not lose any of my other fish. And with an early enough application in another tank, there was no fin erosion at all when that horrible gold dust had to be treated there. (If you experience velvet, keep in mind that it is exceedingly virulent and take extra precaution not to spread it to other tanks.)

Fish Bubble

Fish BubbleAbsolutely adorable but you have to be well aware of the weight of this item. Make sure it is securely mounted on the wall with that water and I do not recommend stones in it because of added weight, BEFORE you put the fish in it. Heavy to lift and mount and a tight squeeze to clean out the aquarium. Should be mounted on an inside wall not on a wall that faces the outside because of temperature changes. Fish is safe in this bubble and enjoyable to see. Good only for one fish to be comfortable. I am considering buying another one for my office.

Recieved Fish Bubble Wall Tank in very poor wrapping/shipping condition. After purchasing additional supplies for it, including fish, I hung it up and it leaked. I notified seller of my displeasure and seller totally ignored my email. I was finally able to stop the leak with some silicone. I would not buy from this seller again and recommend, you who are reading this not to either.

Buy Fish Bubble Now

Just to be clear, I do not keep a pet in this. I have an aquatic turtle, and it is very common to feed them outside their tank because they are messy eaters, poop immediately, and it will keep your HUGE tanks from getting so dirty so fast. So, this bowl is JUST for meal time, NOT for full time.

Mine did not leak. It's cheap feeling, but not cheap looking. Put the screw into a stud if you can because it is really heavy! I only filled it a little less than half way because that's all I need. You don't have to unscrew it every time you take it down if you use a screw head small enough. If you can't, you can just tilt the bowl to pour the water out without removing the screw.

But it would make a hell of a lot more sense if they used a proper screw hole that had an easy easy way to slide the bowl up and off the screw. So, stars off for that.

Read Best Reviews of Fish Bubble Here

I saw this, fell in love with it, and bought it, thinking I would finally cave and buy my son a betta. However, as I always do, I began to research betta needs and how to care for one. By the way, I cannot understate the importance of doing this before you purchase any pet. The consensus on betta care from enthusiasts and professionals (and I don't mean part time clerks at PetCo) alike, is that they need at a BARE MINIMUM 2.5 gallons to be comfortable. Most say 5 gallons or better is the safer bet, and people that really love their fish go for a 10 gal.

If you get something like this, you need to change the water at least twice a week and carefully monitor ammonia levels, because in something this tiny, ammonia and nitrite levels are sure to skyrocket, and FAST. In a tiny "tank" like this, you can't use a heater (bettas are tropical and require water around 80* to stay healthy) or a filter. Forget plants, because they will take even more of your fish's precious space! If you want to have a fish and keep it for any real length of time, I cannot recommend enough that you get your fish a larger container, and a heater!

Now I'm stuck here with this little bubble, totally unsure of what to do with it. I guess I could stick some aquatic plants in it? Maybe a couple of ghost shrimp? Half a gallon is really too small to keep any fish, of any kind, because anything small enough (guppies, tetras) are schooling fish and a group of them would need more water than this.

I recommend that you DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, unless you plan on using it for something like a ghost shrimp or two and maybe an aquatic plant. I wish I had done my research before purchasing this, and hope I can save someone the same headache.

Tetra 77184 Algae Control, 3.38-Ounce, 100-ml

Tetra 77184 Algae Control, 3.38-Ounce, 100-mlBefore this I tried everything they recommend. No matter what I tried frequent to daily water changes, low-to-no light, remove plants, less food nothing worked. From the front of the 10 gallon tank it was impossible to see the plants and ceramics a third of the way back. I haven't been able to find the algae eater in weeks.

As a last resort, I bought this. The directions indicate 1ml for every 12 gallons. By that reckoning, this is well more than hundred doses for a 10 gallon tank. I don't have anything that can measure 1ml, so I gave it one good squirt and walked away.

It's probably worth noting that the directions also say to take your activated-charcoal filter out. Presumably that's because it will neutralize the stuff. Since I couldn't measure properly and didn't want to poison my fish, I didn't take mine out.

It's crystal-clear in there now. I mean GORGEOUS.

Still no sign of the algae eater... odd.

Boy, was I surprised to read the horror stories in the other reviews. So far, my fish look happy and my plants haven't died. If that changes, I'll come back and say so. Till then, I've got to say it's amazing.

EDIT: Just read one of the other reviews a little more carefully. She said she used three capfuls in her tank.

This bottle is intended to treat 1,200 gallons. Three capfuls is roughly a third of the bottle. Unless her tank is larger than 400 gallons, it's no wonder the fish are dying.

I bought this product many months ago for my 46 gallon tank, where I have an increasing problem with hair algae. I hesitated to use it, partly because of all of the warnings against using chemicals found in all the sites that have to do with aquarium care. But even after doing things such as changing to under gravel fertilizers, upping the frequency of my water changes and adding a carbon dioxide injector to my planted tank, the situation has only gotten worse. So before I tried this treatment, I looked for all of the reviews I could find on the web. As you know, if you're reading this, there aren't many. The ones that were overly glowing I almost immediately dismissed, since I couldn't be sure if they weren't put there by the manufacturer. The overly negative ones, claiming 98% kill of fish, left me afraid to try the stuff. Anyway, last night, I bit the bullet and dosed my tank according to manufacturer's directions.

This morning, about 15 hours after I dosed the tank, all of my fish are alive and well. My plants, on which I have spent a considerable sum of money, appear unchanged. Unfortunately, so does the hair algae! In going back over the reviews, I noticed that those who wrote glowing reviews had green water problems, they weren't dealing with hair algae. Unlike them, I did not awake this morning to find my tank magically rid of hair algae. Nor did I find a plethora of dead snails, which I would have found very welcome.

Will I try this product again? It's a question at the moment. While it doesn't seem to do any harm, I can't be sure if it actually does any good. At least, not when one is dealing with a problem with hair algae. Does it need more time? Do I need to repeat the application? These are questions to which I have no answer at the moment. However, given the scarcity of reviews on this product, I thought I should put my own two cents in.

By the way, for those who don't have the ability to measure milliliters, the directions also tell you that you can use one drop per gallon. I counted drops into a measuring device that I have that gives me milliliters, and the drop system is accurate.

Check out my picture I posted for proof.

My 20G long that I use to grow out cichids was getting crazy algae. Water change twice a week didn't cut it, LED was on 8 hrs, not strong enough to promote algae growth. So I knew I need to get some algae medicine for my tank. After reading this review and the API one, I found out many people have the same problem about their fish dying using BOTH product. I was iffy but I just had to try.

Read the instruction before using it! It says something like '10mL for every 12G, use once every 3 days, 3 times max. If you want to continue treatment, you must do water change'. Simple enough. When in doubt, underdose it but don't overdose because you don't want your fish to die.

So after I added in the stuff, the water cleared up in front of my eyes. I couldn't believe it! I sat down in front of my tank for half an hour, admiring the crystal clear water (something I haven't done in months).

I hope this review and the picture help you with your buying decision. Shoutouts to my 2 fish websites Monsterfishkeepers and Cichlids.c0m:)

Review title really tells you everything you need to know. I have been lucky in my tank maintaining years not to have had much experience with algae. Once a big green bloom hit me, I needed something inexpensive and powerful to help me get rid of the stuff that scrubbing didn't tackle. This product requires only one drop per gallon and with two treatments my problem was eliminated. The treatment loosened up the stuff I wasn't getting clean with a brush alone. Wait a day and brush afterwards and voila, clean tank! As stated in directions, be sure to remove tank filter for six to eight hours after treatment. I did not return filter media until I got the whole problem taken care of.
