Mighty Jr. Bee Bug Dog Toy

To start, I will acknowledge that neither of my dogs are small, but I didn't worry about how they would do with this "mighty" toy, since they both have historically been very gentle with their toys. Neither has ever destroyed a plush toy, and they have quite a few that are neither large nor designed to be especially rugged. My Flat-Coated Retriever has a very soft mouth, and has zero history of killing his toys, with the notable exception of tennis balls, which he likes to peel the felt off of. Many of the toys from the Mighty line, including this bee, have a short-napped, felt-like coat, so I guess my dog decided that this bee was more like a tennis ball than a plush toy to be shown off and cared for. There was stuffing everywhere within a few short minutes, basically as soon as he sat down with the thing. Very disappointing. I know there are plenty of other dogs who share my dog's felt-fascination, including many who are otherwise very gentle. I guess the takeaway for me has been that this bee and maybe the Mighty line in general are not good choices for dogs that fall into this camp. In the future, I'll probably stay away from the entire line, since it apparently brings out the barbarian in a dog not known for being hard on his toys. In my experience, not very mighty.

My dog loves the bee and so far the wings are still attached! So it's a very tough toy if your dog loves to chew!

Up Aqua Ceramic Bamboo Shelter, Large

I thought this would be a great addition to my pond and provide my small koi a place to hide. This is a small shelter.

I don't know what it is about it, but my fish won't swim into this. They swim around it but it sits unused. They prefer an old can and drainage pipe. I wouldn't recommend this product.

My CPO Crayfish love these... I'll find them climbing all over them and hiding in the tubes. One thing to note however, the tubes are glued in the form you see them, no way to change how they are formed.

Marina Naturals Foreground, Rock and Plants

I purchased two of these one small and one medium sized. I placed them in my tank and they looked great for the first couple of weeks. Then, brown algae began forming on the faux foliage (which unfortunately occurs on my fake plants). I removed the decorations and used a soft bristle toothbrush to gently scrub off the algae. The foliage fell right off, and I can assure you that I did not scrub hard. Considering what I paid for these items I couldn't believe how easily these glued pieces fell off.

After two cleanings, there is hardly any foliage left on either decoration only the 'rock' and a clear gummy substance where the faux moss used to be. I would only recommend purchasing this product if you expect never to have to clean it. Extremely disappointed.

I have this rock placed in a 2.7 gal tank in the corner below the heater. It looks nice, although the plastic is a bit rigid and I worry about it harming my betta, he doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all. It's not as large as it looks as the photo, which I was happy about as my tank isn't that big. I washed it with hot water before adding it into the tank and one of the plant pieces fell off, not a big deal. I wasn't being too careful with handling it.

Tuffy's Mega Odd Ball Dog Toy

We have several Tuffy's toys with ratings between 8 and 10 and find them to be really well made.

It amazes me that people say "it only lasted an hour" or "Only lasted a week". If your dog is focused on anything and is a strong chewer, nothing with stitching can take constant abuse.

We have strong chewers, but these toys allow our dogs some time with a stuffed toy. However, once playtime is over and they lay down and just start chewing, we take them away for awhile. These are not chew toys (like kongs and everlansting)

A regular stuff animal gives us about 30 seconds. Our dogs spent 10-20 minutes at a time playing with these and we've gotten well over a year with them.

These toys do hold up to some really rough playing, but they won't hold up to 2 constant hours of a good chewer, they aren't meant to be chew toys, but they hold up while awaiting you to intervene.

Ours have lasted more than a year, but we don't give them unlimited, unsupervised time to work at it.

We've been realistic with what a stitched toy can endure and have been real happy with these.

Firstly, we love Tuffy Toys in our house! I purchase toys with the hope that they stick around for awhile, but not forever. I give this football a 3 in comparison to other large Tuffy Toys. The seams are as strong as ever; it took months for my labs to get through the seams. However, my girl likes to carry the football around by biting around the "body." Unfortunately the sides are not nearly as strong as the seams, and her teeth went through it easily. This exposed the stuffing more quickly than I would have liked. All Tuffy Toys seem to be packed (and I mean PACKED) with stuffing, and this football was the worst offender so far. It looked like it snowed all over my downstairs. So basically, if you have a "de-stuffer" for a dog, I recommend a Tuffy toy with more seams.

I bought the mega oddball previously and my mom allowed my dog to have it in his crate. He ate the logo off and promptly destuffed the toy. The exterior remains of the ball, however, have endured weeks of play with minimal damage, so I believe the toy would have survived fine if mom hadn't made the mistake of leaving it unsupervised with our chewer. I just purchased two more. My 3 pit bulls love them and will literally plat tug of war, not letting go, for 15 minutes at a time. They are majorly powerful, but the ball has only minimal fraying after days of play that includes vigorous shaking and tug-wrestling. I am very happy. My boys love stuffed toys, but I hate cleaning up the stuffing explosion. And on amazon, the mega oddball comes at a great price. I definately reccomend for your power chewers. I am planning on getting something with a better grip for human hands next so that I can get in on the epic tug of wars. The mega oddball is too big to get a good grip, but great for throwing.

We bought the Aqueon LED Aquarium hood and were instantly impressed with the quality of the light. However, it was a very blue or white light. The warmth of our previous hood just wasn't there. I ordered one Colormax bulb with the hope that the red mixed with the other would be the perfect coloring. As desired, it looks great. There is just enough red to warm up the aquarium.

I have noticed that we get more algae growth on this aquarium cover than we did with the previous hood, however. I didn't notice it before adding the Colormax bulb so I'm thinking it may be due to the red LEDs.

I do not see a difference adding this light bulb to the existing day light bulb that was already in the hood. Maybe I have the wrong type of fish and will see it in other fish when I add them.

I bought 2 boxes of this filter media. I was leary of it, because it was so inexpensive. It seems more porous then other ceramic filter media I have bought, which I hope means it won't clog and need cleaning. Nutrafin Cycle Bio Filter Supplement - 8.4 Ounces

If you have an aquarium, you need Cycle. Without it, you will very likely kill your fish in an attempt to cycle the water to safe levels. With it, you can get you water cycle process started quickly so that the fish do not perish in a new aquarium. When used regularly it can helps to keep the water in balance. I recently had high ammonia levels and found that I had to pour about half the bottle into the aquarium (12 gallon) in order to fix the problem, but it did work. Aquarium water can be very tricky to deal with and if you do not check it regularly or maintain it (vacuum debris, change filter as needed, test water) you will have problems. Cycle will help, but it alone will not keep the water healthy.

I bought this at walmart, probably for a little less. I haven't had problems sometimes people complain about the blue LEDs dying out mine are fine but it probably could be closer to the center of the tank, it is a little loose when putting it all the way up. It is not a big aquarium and actually in truth it is too small for pretty much any fish but it has served me well until I decide to upgrade to a larger tank for glofish, probably a good tank for a desk or student. Filter also kind of small, doesn't create any degree of water flow really but I suppose it works well enough. There is a little storage bin in the bottom of mine and the one shown but there are some without, its a near idea but kind of too small to store much, I just use it at the moment to store small, extra glow in the dark decorations.

I have been keeping a planted aquarium for many years and Flourite is the best substrate for plants that I have ever used. True, it is a pain that you need to rinse it, however, if you use a very fine colander with a hose or in the bathtub like I did it is very easy. You will want to let the dust settle after you put it in your aquarium before turning your filter on. (depending on how well you rinsed the substrate.)

Other reviewers are not kidding, you will need to take this stuff outside and spend a long time with a hose and bucket to rinse out the silt to an acceptable level. It looks nice in the aquarium though.

I put this substrate in my turtle tank after reading a glowing endorsement on a web site dedicated to turtles. I knew upfront that it needed to be rinsed well, more so than an average back of rocks. What I didn't expect was if the turtle or fish makes the slightest fuss with the flourite a cloud of dust is dispersed throughout the tank. The benefits of this product are the pleasant appearance and use as a planting medium. The drawbacks are the constant production of dust and the increased filter maintenance. Unless you're wanting to plant your aquarium I would recommend sticking to river rocks or other suitable substrate. If you choose to use this product I definitely recommend switching from the sponge filter to floss. I am using a 100% polyester crafter's stuffing and it is excellent at catching all the dust.

Zoo Med Labs Betta Plants - Bamboo

I am new to aquarium ownership and have just a one-gallon desktop aquarium. I had zero plants in my aquarium. When I put in the Bamboo Plant, Freddy immediately started to frolic in the leaves. He seemed very happy! And an added benefit was that the Bamboo Plant was very realistic and did a great job camouflaging my filter. Very happy with this purchase.

I purchased a couple of these for my 7 betta fish, knowing that most of the plastic plants offered out there are way too abrasive or sharp for thier fins. Unless other reviewers are getting a knock-off version of this product, I can't echo thier opinion that it is dangerous to fish in any way. If the fish has a personal preference not to hide in it, then that's on the fish.

Personally, I have five halfmoons with gorgeous finnage and none of them have been harmed in any way by this particular Zoo Med variety (bamboo). I have not tried the others. You can be very flexible with where you place it in the tank, and yes, you CAN bend them some and create very beautiful tank scapes for what they are. Fake plants. The price is right. Go for it.

This plant was tiny, stiff as a I don't know what, and basically I just have it hidden to the back of my hex tank because even if you were only interested in putting it in a fishbowl it would still look wack. The only thing that I like about it is the unique shape of the leaves, and the bright vibrant color. The picture does no justice to the color, however the picture looks just like it, stiff and TINY. Basically the pic you see, just pretend that is it, no manipulating it or softening/repositioning it.

The suction cup holds well on glass, and the plant can be manipulated to hang off a wall or floor of a fish tank. The two main branches are bendable so you can sort of arrange where you want the plant to cover. There are a lot of leaves on this plant, providing a pretty thick screen. This, I imagine, would make a fish feel well hidden. However, the stems and leaves are stiff and the pointed tips are sharp. I placed it in a 5-gallon tank with 4 guppies and they hated it. One approached it, retreated and none of them would ever go anywhere near it again. I have the Marina Betta Kit plastic hair grass plant (bought from Amazon) that my guppies swim through, down into, and around with no hesitation. The hair grass is softer than the bamboo, with no sharp edges. So 3 stars because I think this plant will provide an effective screen for a shy fish, but no more than that because I know there are softer, safer plants available through Amazon.

I have a lab that is murder on toys. It is only the black heavy duty kong that she has not been able to destroy within an hour until this. Stella loves squeeker toys but they do not last, period. This product is just some cheap plastic tubing you can find at home depot for $1, with some very low quality plastic leaves wrapped around it, which is also very poorly put together. Save yourself some money and either don't buy this or make your own for 1/4 of the price.

I bought this when I had a waterfall setup for my reptiles. I used it to run like a dripper so I wouldn't have to make myself a dripper. It worked pretty good and when I got rid of the lizard and the waterfall setup, I simply took the wired vine off the tube and wrapped it around a branch.

These pads are very good, use for my canister filters to catch extra waste debris for my fish tank, works great, could be a little more compacted, but for price it is just fine, figure it should last 2 to 3 filter cleanings before being replaced, can be cut into 4 or 5 pieces for filter, so should last a while, I'm satisfied, but there are better for more money.

Has been up and running for a few weeks now. Easyt to set up and operate, though one of the heaters (smaller one) does NOT heat accuaretly. Need to run it 4-6 degrees hotter to get the temp I want. for example. I like my water set at 70F, but need to set the controller to 76, to maintain the 70 I want, as confirmed by zn independant thermometer.

Considering this purchase was for my turtles in their 300 gallon habitat, I did not want to skimp on their heating requirements.

After a rigorous online search, I concluded I'd try this heater out and I'm glad I did! Fully submersible and very easy to operate. It has an analog dial to help you adjust the temperature with two LED's. One LED indicates that it's powered on. The other LED is to let you know when the heater element is doing it's job; when the desired temp has been reached the heater element will shut off. It has three cords coming out of the analog control dial. One cord is the submersible heating unit itself, which you simply place (laying down) in your tank. Another cord is to plug into the wall. The third cord is an external thermometer (no digital or analog reading on it though) to gauge the temperature of the water. Using very cold tap water from the garden hose outside, I filled up my turtles habitat. It took approximately 20 hours to heat up 300 gallons.

It has kept their habit warm since. In fact I've had to turn it down a few notches. Of course there are a few factors/variables that will alter how effectively the heater works (the amount of water you're trying to heat, the outside temperature of your aquarium, etc.)

Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. In fact I just placed an order online for a second unit. That's one thing I'm not too happy about though (but didn't count it against the product rating); was the fact that I can't find this product in Canada. I always have to search for it online. I was using a cheaper aquarium heater to heat up my turtles feeding tank (which is another tank altogether), whose brand name I will not repeat but if you send me a private message and want to know (so you don't make the mistake of buying that cheaper one), I'd be more than happy to share that information with you. But after two days I took it back to the store where I bought it from.

Funny but the more expensive aquarium heater which I purchased online and had more to lose (in return shipping charges) if it was defective or not working the way I wanted it to, worked perfectly whereas the safer bet (the local store bought one) ended up costing me more gas in having to return it. Oh well, just goes to show : there are no safe bets.

Lee's Betta Keeper with Lid, Gravel and Plant - Small

I used to have one of these Betta Hexs in college for my bettas. At the time they were perfect given the lack of room I had in my dormitory but looking back at it, the bowl wasn't ideal. The betta hex is the size of a coffee cup. Bettas need more room than a coffee cup. I learned the hard way that if you don't keep the cover on, the betta will jump. I can't really blame the fish for jumping. Look at the size of its living quarters. I have my current betta Blutengel in a half gallon bowl. It may not be ideal but he is thriving and has the space to swim around happily. I guess the only good things I can honestly say about the betta hex is that it is perfect for a college dormitory and it is easy to clean but for the fish not very comfortable. Bettas need the room to swim around, not to sit there floating.

This tank is too small for your betta to be happy and healthy. There is no room for the betta to swim. A heater cannot be used in such a small tank, and the tank's temperature will fluctuate a great deal. The betta's wastes will build up quickly and the water will have to be changed quite often. All of these factors will stress out your betta and cause him to become sick and die.

I bought this betta keeper kit with two packets of sea-monkeys, and so far everything has been fantastic, the tank holds 24 ounces which is just PERFECT for two packets of sea-monkeys, which would need 20 ounces of water. I started my packets earlier today and already have some babies, I can tell I made a good decision in starting my sea-monkeys out in a tank like this. The sea-monkey brand tanks are so childish with their bright colors and funny shapes, I'm an adult and I want to look like one. (and yes, adults can own sea-monkeys, just like they can own goldfish and betta fish). So I thought long and hard and decided to try it with this kit. I didn't use the gravel or plant, because I didn't want my baby monkeys to get crushed by the gravel and the plant wouldn't stay put by itself. When the monkeys get older I will add something into the tank for them to play in and around, but until then they are bare tank and they seem to like it already!
