Supreme Pondmaster AP-40 Pond Air Pump 2900 cu. in. per Minu

I've been using this pump for my outdoor pond for a few years now and it's great and still running.

It's easy to maintain, just don't let it get dirty and clean out the filter every now and then. The filter has easy access in the back of the pump. The original filter element becomes rather flimsy after a few washes and should be replaced from time to time. However, I don't think this is unexpected for any pump.

It comes with a plastic air manifold which not very good. It's probably better to buy a separate, quality manifold for distribution of air. Or you can modify it for temporary use until it breaks then you can get a quality manifold. The manifold itself, has too many outputs (more than efficiently necessary), none of which can be closed, so unless you're using them all, you're wasting a lot of air. I just used hot-glue to seal the outputs I didn't want to use. The manifold itself isn't even quality plastic so the outputs will eventually snap off especially if used outdoors.

Discounting the shoddy air manifold attachment, it's a great pump, with good output and easy care.

Update 4/14/2013:

The original plastic air manifold finally fell apart, the plasic was so brittle it was leaking air everywhere and I bought this metal air divider which is working great so far: Hydrofarm AAPADIV6 Active Aqua 6-Outlet Copper Air Divider.

Meanwhile, the air pump still runs like a champ.

I have a pond (or a pool, since it is pretty small) that needs some circulation--it has a muddy bottom and lot of leaves and other organic crud. I tried water pumps, but they always get clogged.

I got one of these, put a garden hose on it (cut off the ends and shoved them onto the pump and the aerator that came with it) and dropped the aerator into about 7 feet of water(with a brick to hold it down). It works great. In only a couple of days, the water is a lot clearer. It looks like the bubbles will be plenty to help the fish survive when the water gets low and during the winter.

This is made for a small pond. It is not going to aerate an acre, but it is still putting out a lot of air. The aerator is made so that you could connect a dozen aquariums to it, but they would need to be pretty big aquariums, since it puts out a LOT of air.

The only thing annoying is that I had to put it in an enclosure to protect it from the weather. It would have been nice if it had been weatherproof. Also, if you use it inside, the noise would probably drive you crazy. Outside, it is not a problem because you have to be pretty close to hear it.

I have a six foot long, 150 gallon fresh water tank, and I'm using a combination of two bubble wands to form a five-and-a-half foot curtain of air bubbles in the background. The tank is 30 inches deep, and at different times, I've used a Tetratec Deep Water DW96-2 and a Super Luft SL-65 to drive the bubble wands, and an additional air stone. Both the Tetratec and SL-65 have been able to create bubbles, but were not able to create the curtain effect I had hoped for. A metal part in the SL-65 failed after about a year and-a-half,... the AP-40 was bought as a replacement. The Supreme Pondmaster AP-40 succeeded in creating the curtain of bubbles I was looking for, and is so effective, that I have to bleed off excess air though an open valve to atmosphere. Granted the AP-40 is more expensive than the other pumps, however my intent when I bought the other two air pumps was to find an air pump that could create the curtain of bubbles, (cost at the time was not a consideration). I believe I may have been able to achieve the same affect with the Supreme Pondmaster AP-20, but I wanted to err on the positive side. An added benefit,... the AP-40 I received is no louder than either of the other two air pumps. Great product. Very satisfied.

Purchased pump about 3 years ago and it worked fine until it recently had a major drop in air pressure. I ordered a diaphragm kit assuming that would fix it. In the process of installing the kit I noted the cause of the pressure drop: the plastic base had a crack in it. I contacted Danner to purchase a new base and was told it was not a "saleable" item. They suggested I buy a new pump. Absurd! It's a plastic part I could replace in 5 minutes with nothing more than a phillips screwdriver. So I picked up some JB PlasticWeld (great product!) and patched the crack from both the inside and outside of the plastic base. So far that appears to have fixed it...pressure is great. Bottom line is this a very good item unless you need a replacement part they refuse to sell you.

I love the bright colors of this aquarium plant it adds a boost of color and excitement to the tank. I don't think the fish really care what color the plants are, so I always buy the brightest ones I can find. This one is a really nice bright yellow and I like that it has the two-tone color with the orange.

This looked beautiful right out of the box and went in as a bold centerpiece for my 5 gallon tank. However, a few days after I put it in I noticed my betta fish started looking a little ragged around the fins. Granted, there was a lot of other stuff going on in the tank at the time so I'm not sure that the pointy fronds were responsible-however, I trimmed the tips (even close observers can't tell the difference) and have had no problems since. I'm very happy with this product.

Great Product AWESOME PRICE for 14oz. The 2oz are around $16-$20 each. I will deffinately purchase this in the future. I know pickeling lime is much cheaper, but this product is wonderful. It actually seals the mouth closed stopping the aiptasia from spreading. The Aiptasia also does not seem to retract when treating which is a deffinate plus compared to pickeling lime.

I like it because it will not affect the coral and fishes in the tank. The removal of the aiptasia is temporary in nature. However, with persistent dosage, i can see the reduction of the aiptasia.

Great value for killing aiptasias! This is great because you can refill the 2 ounce bottle that is a kit with the curved needle adapter and monoject and then buy the big bottle when when the last two ounces gets filled up. Some people are critical of the product saying the aiptasia blows up and spreads but that is not my experience. If I really saturate the aiptasia and get all the tennicles they are dead, it leaves a white spot on the live rock but I'm sure the coraline will grow back.

I've tried several different products for treating aiptasia, and like this one the most. Some others come with inferior applicators, making directed application sloppy. Some are not white until they mix with water, making it difficult to target and control dosage. This stuff works.

Aiptasia-X is harmless to others in the tank. I've gotten it on clams, worms, etc., and no noticeable effects -copepods will flee on contact, but seem unharmed.

Unfortunately, this chemical is not enough: you'll never find all the baby aiptasia today, so you'll need to do a little more application each day, and you'll be buying this for the life of your tank.

I find the best combination is to use biological control in the tank, and use Aiptasia-X just to get the obvious aiptasia that your friends miss. The most effective biological control I've found is filefish. Fascinating, attractive, reef-safe, non-aggressive, and largely effective in reducing the aiptasia population, and happy to eat any small food you add to the tank.

our dog has to wear an e-collar 24hrs a day because he compulsively chews on his feet if he can get to them. so far we'd been using the blue paper collars from the vet at about $26 a pop. unfortunately they fall apart after a couple of weeks from him scratching at them and we find little blue pieces everywhere in the house.

i ordered this collar in the hopes that it would do the trick since it's much cheaper than the other kind i was wary at first because there is no sizing listed and you can't tell what they're made of.

when the collar arrived i was very pleased. so far it's been great! i ordered size 3 which is the exact same as the Medium 6.5" ones from the vet. it's very soft and has yet to fall apart from scratching and it's so much quieter when he does scratch at it. we'll see how it holds up after the first time i wash it but so far so good and well worth the price!

the only things i would change about this are:

the tie around the neck is made of a shiny thread and therefore doesn't stay tied unless you double-knot it, not very user friendly. something more along the lines of a shoelace material would be easier to get off and on

this ships from PetCareRX and since ordering this i have received many phone calls from them at all times of day and it's highly irritating

I was very disappointed with how this worked. The cone easily folded over and served absolutely no purpose. Not to mention the cone was short and way too open. I am only writing this to warn people from buying it. I wish someone told me not to waste my money on this, buy a different collar. It seriously sucked!

That about says it all! Perfect fit! Maybe wish the back plastic piece was 1/2" wider, my protein skimmer return barely fits, but it does!

I just wanted to leave a note because I felt bad for the seller. The logistics for this item is fulfilled by Amazon. They ended up shipping it in a package with 40 lbs of substrate that I ordered directly from them. To no great surprise these lids both arrived shattered. I do not feel as though this is a knock against the seller, they happily refunded me my money, I pin this totally on amazon.

I have an Aqueon 33 Long tank which is 48"x13x13 with a center divider. I got two. They fit almost perfectly. About 1/8 inch short on length but rests on the divider so no exposed area lengthwise. However, there is about a 1/4" gap with witdth that does expose water. I don't foresee any problems.

It's not that it's a bad product, it's just not advertised with the correct, detailed measurements. It would not fit on any of my 24 inch tanks, and I have multiple types.

Impeller Assembly for H.O.T. Magnum Canister Filter - Blue

After 10 years of service my filter pooped out. After investigating the problem noticed that the impeller was just worn out. Replace it with a new one and she lives again to clean another day. Fish are happy and I'm happy. Love amazon and prime.

My Marineland 'H.O.T. Magnum' canister filter began making noise and working intermittently. (No complaints, since I've had it in near constant service for over ten years.)

After disassembling it, I discovered that the small bearing at the magnet end of the impeller shaft had detached.

Hydor MINI HEATER Aquarium Heater 15W for Tanks 5-10 gal

This was completely ideal for me. It raised the temperature of the tank (10 gal w/guppies and corys) about five degrees from air temp, so I would often just run it overnight and unplug it during the day, depending upon my needs. I would definitely buy this product again! My only regret is that it can be a rather bulky thing, and doesn't sit entirely flush against the aquarium wall, so it is a little tricky to place appropriately. You get what you pay for, and it does the job. Note that this is the maximum size of tank recommended for this product! If you have any complicated needs, such as a larger tank, higher temperature, auto shut-off, range control, sensitive fish, ect. then this is not the product for you!

After purchasing this heater I found out it has NO THERMOSTAT (local fish store misinformed me). If your room temperature varies, so will your aquarium temperature! Not good for most fish. The instructions say to unplug heater whenever room temp is 75 farenheit or above (how convenient). The packaging says: "No damage if left running dry", yet the instructions clearly state "Check that the heater never works dry..." Also, the packaging shows an illustration of a hand moving a hot heater into and out of the tank with the words "Super Safe", but be aware that the instructions warn to wait 5 minutes for heater to cool before handling, and always unplug before placing hand in water.

I gave this heater only two stars because I found the packaging and instructions contradictory, and because the lack of thermostat limits usefulness and could potentially cook your livestock.

I have a large glass cookie jar with no filters and tons of plants. I needed a tiny little heater to make sure the temp. stayed around 78. This did the trick. I hid it under the gravel and you cant see it at all. Plus it is not glass so I don't have to worry about it breaking.

I used this product to raise the water temperature in a 5 gallon tank. It worked for about 2 or 3 weeks raising my water temperature by about 5 degrees while it worked and then died. I would not recommend. I think this is something you have to spend a little more than 12$ on unfortunately.

Using this works best on the 6 gallon fruval edge. 77 degrees lights off and 80.2 with the lights on! No problems under the gravel so far! I had a tetra 10/30 that ran a little warm with the lights on @ 82 degrees so I tried this one. I paid $24 in a store.

Plus it isnt long enough, so I have to prop the bucket for drainage on a chair so it will reach. These are OK they look like pictured but are quite a bit smaller than expected. They'll work in the tank and being silicone, they move very well with the flow from the power heads.
