YML Aquarium Net Breeder, Small

This is just what I needed for my balloon molly ~ but it did not come with instrucions. The suction cups are great ~ they allow me to close the aquarium lid completely as opposed to net breeders that hang off the side of the aquarium. However, there were no assembly instructions provided, and I broke one of the plastic dowels trying to assemble this. Hint: the net goes on the OUTSIDE of the plastic frame you assemble.

It came with no instructions. The suction cups are not designed for the product. They are the type that go into a hole and the unit has no holes. It does have four pins, but then they would require the hole to be in the suction cup. There is no way to attach this thing to the side of the tank.

All Glass Aquarium AAG29030 Versa Top, 30-Inch

I love this aquarium top!

As always, I know I can rely on All Glass Aquarium products to be well made!

It fit my 20 gallon long aquarium perfectly, and looks terrific!

I got this for my 29 gallon tank and the glass part fits perfectly, however the clear plastic strip that attaches to the glass is about an inch to short from reaching the back of my aquarium. I called Aqueon and was advised that the brand aquarium that I have(Top Fin)was the reason it did not go all the way to the back. He said I could order a universal strip from smithandfoster.com and it would work. For now I put a piece of black electrical tape over the gap. Other than that I am happy with it, it looks so much better than the hood that came with the aquarium. BTW Aqueon was the only brand glass hood the store sold, you would think they would sell there brand glass hood to fit there aquariums so there customers could avoid this issue. I gave it 5 stars b/c it is no fault of the manufacturer.

Kent Marine Kalkwasser Mix

This product, when used correctly, is excellent. However you must read the instructions very carefully and DO NOT DEVIATE. If you are new to reef tanks do alot of research. This is not something you just throw in your tank and help the corals grow. This has a very specific use for certain types of corals, clams, and algae. I would also recommend the "little dripper" by zoo med. They are $10-15 depending on the size. the little dripper is a plastic bucket that has an ajustable drip valve. This is very important because the instructions say to add this to your tank at XX drops per min or sec. If you add it too fast you will have calcium clouds that can and will harm anything in your tank.

This is a form of calcium that is the most economical way to increase the alkalinity of a salt water tank. This product is very pure. I have been using it for years. Read up on it. you don't just dump it into the tank.

The background should provide for a beautiful tank. However, the product was folded in the box for shipping. Sharp creases resulted in a less than desirable result once applied to the back of the tank. I would strongly suggest purchasing the product in a retail store to avoid the background being destroyed when packaging for shipping! A disappointing purchase.

The other two did not have the fins attached. One could be re-attached, the other went in the trash.

After reading the reviews on these I ordered two sets as so many said one was broken when it arrived. Mine were all fine. I got these for a small fountain and when I put them in the water the flow of water would cause them to bunch together. I got out some nickels, fish line and hot glue gun. Cut the lines and glue one end to a fish one to a nickel. They look really good in my fountain, hard to tell they are not real at first glance. Being that the line is about five to six inch in lenght they still swim around a little but do not bunch up.

Package contained just 2 1/2 fish upon arrival. Only 1 side of third fish. They floated on top far about a day then sank to the bottom to stay. Now they lay there and collect other fish. Very dissapointing.

I've had my pond for 8 years with fairly good results each year but I thought I'd skip the UV light this year because I wasn't THAT happy with the results last year so I tried this product instead. I drained out all the winter water and leaves, and fish too of course. I then power washed my pond liner and filled up with 750 gallons of fresh water. (I do that every year)

I put in the necessary chlorine drops and the 1/4 cup of this stuff along with two capfuls of pond bacteria which was also recommended. The water was crystal clear and the fish looked very happy for one week then I couldn't see them anymore!!!!! The water is soooooo green the fish have to be within 2 inches of the top to be seen. I put in a 1/4 cup each day for the next week and it showed no improvement. This extra amount of chemicals can't be good for the fish. Very disappointed. I'm going back to the UV light on my filter and chalk this up to experience. As a matter of fact I ordered the Laguna (PT 262) Original ClearFlo 1400 Kit which has a built in UV light. I'll be getting it tomorrow. I hope the fish are still alive down there in the abyss.

Algae Cleaning Magnet

Bought this for my 10gal and 55gal glass tanks. It comes with interchangable pads for either glass or acrylic. Works well and doesn't scratch at all. Kinda freaks my fish out when I use it, but they only hide for a couple of minutes.

Works really good on my 75 gallon tank. Bit overkill maybe but it takes no time at all to clean the glass.

I have had big 55 gallon fish tanks that have lasted years. I recently decided to have a tank again for my office but not as big. So I looked on amazon and decided on purchasing this 20 gallon tank. It did take longer to arrive but was packed expertly and nice heavy glass not like some pet stores that you would find. Heavy thick glass and well bonded/welded contruction at the seams! This should last forever!! Well worth the money!! Thank you !!

All around good tank Worth the money and extra expenses such as filter, substrate, hood, heater, and fish. Total set up cost between $280-300. Only small complaint is some of the caulk attach the bottom rim to the aquarium is excess and slightly visible if one is to really pay attention.

I purchased this aquarium and upon arivial i found the end of it was shattered. I understand things happen in shipping but was still very disappointed. I tried to return it through the amazon site but ran into complications. if you return items from an independent company like carolina biological supply company contact them. don't go through the amazon site. my package was lost for a while until a friend that works at the shipping company (which name i won't mention) tracked the package and found the label to be wrong the Problem was fixed and i did revieve a refund and a coupon from this company apologizing for the inconvenience. Over all the aquarium was very nice and seemed will worth the money had it not been shattered.

Sicce Voyager 3 Power Stream Pump, 1200gph

I ordered two of these on the same day from Amazon (decided later in the day to order the second pump). First one arrived, I unboxed it and installed it. I ordered the Voyager 3, and that is indeed what is marked on the box, and what the label on the pump says. However, I was quite disappointed in the output. It was definitely NOT 1200GPH.

Then, the next day, the second pump arrived. It too was labeled "Voyager 3" on the box and the pump, but the magnet was definitely much LARGER and the water flow output was SIGNIFICANTLY higher, definitely the 1200gph it is rated for. Obviously this other pump was mislabled by the manufacturer. I am returning the incorrect pump to Amazon for replacement, hopefully the replacement isn't botched up also.

I will say this, they are VERY quite on the Red Sea wavemaker. You only hear the humm of them running, which is very quiet. No click/clack on startup.

So far these have been marvelous pumps, extremely quiet. They are really big for their flow rate, but that's forgivable. Magnets are strong, flow is very WIDE as it should be, and is by FAR the quietest pump I've ever, EVER seen on a wavemaker.

I bought two Voyager 3's to use with a Digital Aquatics Reefkeeper Lite's wavemaker function. Originally, I had Hydor Koralia pumps which would make an annoying click on startup. The SV3's mounting system has a much greater range of flexibility than the Hydor. It's perfectly quiet on startup, and moves the water well.

The filter they have installed with it is just too strong for some types of fish. The filter is probably also used on one of their larger tanks and they just decided to match it up with this smaller tank. If you have really strong swimmers, it might be fine. I have a beautiful male betta in his prime and you could tell he was really getting a workout in there. I suspect it would eventually wear him out, or at the very least, cause undue stress leading to an early demise. Therefore, I decided to put the 'tom mini filter' (here on amazon also) and it seems to be about perfect! Love the led's and curved surfacefits nicely on my desk.

The "one inch per gallon" is too broad of a statement. It will be okay to keep 4-5 Glofish in this tank if you know what you're doing, and you go slow. testing water all the way and cleaning often. The one-inch-per-gallon rule doesn't take into account body mass, amount of waste that species of fish produces, dimensions of the tank (depth isn't as helpful as length when it comes to oxygen exchange), etc.

I had Glofish in here, and they looked great, but then I found a gorgeous orange betta fish so I transferred my glofish to another tank I have and put the betta here. I have never had a betta fish that was so active, adventurous, and seemingly happy. I would encourage this tank for betta fish even more than glofish. We bought this tank for our son's room for just a few goldfish. The led lights are really pretty! Great ambience. Being able to switch between black light, led and a combo is quite cool. Even though we don't have glo in the dark fish, the materials in the tank are illuminated~ we got inexpensive glo in the dark plastic plants and white marbles which are affected by the light. It's the ultimate night light!!!

Besides the lights in the tank, the filter seems quite good! We are a busy/lazy tank cleaning family and this tank keeps itself really clean compaired to our daughter's similar sized tank which is constantly needing cleaning.

While the tank looks nice and is a "deal" to get a filter, light and tank together it is CHEAP. The tank WILL crack if you try to move it, the light does not fill the tank evenly. Instead you get more of a led spot light effect which is not conducive to viewing. The light went out today and I haven't had it a month yet. My advice is get a glass take and the parts separate. I wasted my money on this one big time.

This really works well, it works just like a hang-on-back power filter, except that it is driven by an air pump, however you should be aware that it won't work for really tiny fry unless you modify the outlet. The unit comes with 2 different grates for the outlet, the smallest of which has aprox. 1mm slits...big enough for many species of newly hatched fish to slip through. All you would have to do to modify it, however, is to cut a square of fine mesh to fit into the outlet slot. Other than that, I love this Breeding Satellite Box. Nice quality all around, crystal clear plastic for easy viewing, all the components are well built and fit together snugly. It even comes with a valve so you can adjust the air/water flow. It comes with everything you need, except the air pump.

The medium is 1.2 liter. If you have room, I'd get the large size which is 2 liters, but the medium is quite spacious and you can raise quite a few fry in it.

The product is quite good actually but all the instructions are japanese although it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to put it together and you can just follow the pictures. Also, I live in hong kong where this is being posted from and was charged 10USD or 78 Hong Kong dollar for sending it just down the road, i think that this is crazy, as I have posted things here locally many times and postage for such a small item doesn't cost anywhere near that amount, even sending things to the US from here for such a small item doesn't cost that amount.

Deep Blue Deluxe Aquarium Hood 24in

I bought this and it took what felt like forever to get to me. If I remember right it was one day late.

Upon receiving this, I noticed that the lid hinge was broken (which I figured I could just super glue), and the Blue LED Moonlight wouldn't work (which was the whole reason why I bought this.)

I contacted the sellers, Ozbo, by email and it took like 3 days to get an email back. after about two more days they apologized and said that I could just discard the broken one and they would send me a replacement, which they did. it took about another 2 weeks to get it, but I got it and it's NOT broken and appears to be working fine.

Even though the process of getting this item was a pain, I still think it's worth it. I really enjoy this product.

This is perfect for my 55 gal terrarium which houses fire belly toads and newts. Although I cant use the lid I just use the light and place it on my screen top. I tried with the lid but too high with the humidity. The lid part would be perfect for a regular aquarium setup. I love the nightlight. My frogs must think its the moon. Since they are more active at night ...I can actually see them moving around and "barking" with the nightlight on. I love this light!

Hagen Marina Aquascaper Crypt Beckettii Plant

Cute little plant for the price, adds a nice break from the taller plants and my dwarf frogs love to hide in it. It's a lot darker/more vibrant green in person, but not SO green that it's corny.

R2 Extreme LED Aquarium Moonlight

This little 5 LED moonlight lights my 56 gallon column tank perfectly. I think this unit lights more realistically and better than my 20 LED moonlight I purchased on another tank last year. The ability to mount this light wherever and rotate it til your liking is a huge plus.

The light itself is solid enough. It puts out a good amount of light with a nice blue hue that looks very moonlight-esque. The power supply provided has a nice switch on the cord for ease of controlling. However, the product does not include a reflector and without a method of reflecting the light, the strength of the light feels a bit lackluster. I was able to solve this easily by folding a piece of aluminum foil over it to act as a reflector, but that is not an ideal solution. For $29.99 and what is essentially a plastic tube with some LEDs in it, I would expect to get a reflector which would likely add mere pennies to the manufacturing cost. For that reason, and that reason alone, I give this product a 3 star rating.

In order for me to give this product a 5 star rating, it would need to be priced more along the lines of $10 rather than $30. Don't get me wrong, this light does serve its purpose and does look very nice, but it is most certainly a bit overpriced. But this is a nuanced piece of equipment and very few others create a product specifically designed to be a moonlight for aquariums. I suppose with the market cornered, they can get away with charging a bit more.

That said, I do like the light (with my foil reflector), and I believe my fish love it as well. It looks very nice at night not only in the water but in my room as well, as the light bounces off of the water and onto my walls. Without a reflector, however, the light is glaringly bright sitting on top of your aquarium and a great deal of light is lost going in every direction but into the tank.

I have kept the light ultimately as it is really about the only one our there, and I am happy with it. I recommend it if you absolutely feel like you need a moonlight and don't have a fixture with one already built in. If you are presently shopping for an overall lighting system, I would seek out one that has LEDs built in for night viewing rather than using this separate one. It is worth it for those of us who want the nice look of the moonlight and are willing to accept that we are being gouged a bit. Just know that for $30 you will be overpaying a bit, but you will also be getting something that wells rather well. It's up to you to decide whether that's worth it.

I purchased this for a 29 gallon aquarium (30" long by 12" wide by 18" deep), and it provides plenty of light. I used the included self-stick pads to mount it on the back side of my existing aquarium lighting fixture. This is what I like about this moonlight:

1. Plenty of bluish light for this size aquarium; great moonlight effect.

2. Power supply is included, and attaches to the LED light itself via a small plug. The cord is at least 6 ft. long.

3. There is an on/off switch included (on the power supply cord).

4. The cylindrical light clips into (or out of) a mounting bracket, and the light can be easily rotated in the bracket to direct the light at the best angle.

5. The mounting bracket comes with small screws and self-stick pads for easy attachment to an existing fixture. I find that it gives the best illumination if it mounted a bit above the aquarium cover rather than right on it.

I've only been using it for about a week now, so I can't comment on longevity, but so far I'm very pleased, and would recommend this.

I know others say go with this brand of that brand.. but this stuff works fine and it's half the price of the "high end" brand names. reading advise on forums is good and bad sometimes.. I think it makes us at times spend more money then we need to for brand names.

CPR First A.I.D. Deluxe Model - Isolation / Quarantine Tank

This looked a little better online than it does in my hands. I have a couple of CPR products, a protien skimmer and a hang on back refugium and am used to their products being of very good quality. This is made of light, and cheap plastic. The same sort of plastic that is used for the speciman containers that fish shops use to move fish and corals from their tanks to plastic bags. It's very light wieght. If this was dropped even once I know it will crack and no longer be of any use. I know because I have dropped those speciman containers and they are the same material and much lighter weight. I suspect a small fall would shatter this into bits. There are other products out there that cost about twice the money as this, and I would suggest maybe going that route. This is a cheap product though that's why I didn't give it one or two stars. I feel like at the very least it came with a small pump that is usable for many different applications even if the main unit is broken so it's not a total loss. If it was more money, I would have given it a lower rating.

I purchased this to use as an acclamation tank for my corals and fish. i let the water drain into a bucket and pump pour the water back into my aquarium. My coral acclimate better and do much better.
