Hagen Marina Ecoscaper Hydrocotyle Silk Plant Plant, 8-Inch

Hagen Marina Ecoscaper Hydrocotyle Silk Plant Plant, 8-InchOf all the different plants I've used in the past few years, my Bettas much prefer this particular plant because of the wide, flat leaves. They can lounge on a leaf at any level of the plant close to the bottom or right near the top. Since my initial purchase, I have always replaced it with another of the same when I felt it needed replacing.

The only thing I'd recommend is snipping off the little bits of excess plastic that are sometimes located under the leaves or on the stems. They can be sharp on the Betta's delicate fins, but come off easily enough. Very nice plant to look at, too. I'll see if I still have a photo of my tanks somewhere.

I bought this plant for a new freshwater 20 gallon aquarium I set up at work. My African Dwarf frogs love it, and at least one is often hiding underneath the lower leaves. It is shorter than 8 inches (maybe if you stretched it out it would be that long). Other than that it looks great and I'm happy with it.

Buy Hagen Marina Ecoscaper Hydrocotyle Silk Plant Plant, 8-Inch Now

The plant looks very much as pictured, very realistic. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is because though the tops of the leaves are gorgeous the underside of all the leaves aren't painted and are pretty cheezy looking and where my tank is at you'll be able to see that. But! I still love it, looks great otherwise.

I added this plant to my aquarium for my two African dwarf frogs and they love it. They like to hide in the leaves and I often see them resting on a leaf and napping. It creates a nice environment for the frogs to play in and looks so natural.

These are some really nice silk plants. They are as described and the weighted base makes them easy to place in the aquarium. It just doesn't get any better than this in artificial aquarium plants. I'm a happy camper.

Blue Ribbon Pet Products ABLDWSP Rock and Driftwood for Aquarium, Small

Blue Ribbon Pet Products ABLDWSP Rock and Driftwood for Aquarium, SmallI ordered this from OnlinePetDepot. It turns out it's actually Malaysian Driftwood, which I am happy with, not some cheaper driftwood treated somehow so that it would sink like the ad made me fear. It's a pretty nice piece, of course nothing beats choosing the piece yourself but I wasn't sure where to get it around here. Happy with the product.

I was worried what I'd get since I couldn't pick it out myself. It looks similar the display photo but a bit darker. I boiled it 3 times before I put it in my 10 gallon tank and it removed enough of the tannins so the water hasn't changed color at all. Overall I am pretty happy with how it looks. I added a photo to customer photos.

Buy Blue Ribbon Pet Products ABLDWSP Rock and Driftwood for Aquarium, Small Now

The quality of this driftwood is great, it's heavy self sinking malaysian wood which is really nice. The only thing I am disatisfied with is the shape. While it is a natural piece, it has no shape at all, it is a flat stick shape. It is long though, and a couple of inches thick, it just has no design to it. I leaned it up against the wall of the tank, and actually looks pretty good and my fish like it (needed to lower the pH and a few pieces of driftwood are suposed to help) also my pleco needs it for minerals I guess. Looks great with live plants. Overall OK for the price.

I've never gotten driftwood before and was curious as to what I was getting myself into. But one of my fishes apparently NEEDS it. This driftwood looks beautiful in the tank and gives such a natural look and environment. My java fern sticks to it like glue! No complaints. You will need to boil it first or soak it as the water will turn slightly amber at first. Then with your regular water changes it goes away.

Product looked similar to the one pictured. I also soaked my driftwood in hot water 3 times throughout the day prior to putting it into the tank. Will definitely buy again.

Exotic Environments Ancient Stone Head Ruin Aquarium Ornament

Exotic Environments Ancient Stone Head Ruin Aquarium OrnamentMarineland Eclipse 12 Gallon tank, newly setup. The statue will look much nicer with moss and algae and more plants growing around it.

I love this ornament! I got it for my 20 gallon tank, and it's awesome. It's very nicely made and not cheap-looking, like so many other aquarium ornaments. Although the amazon.com description does not include this info, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this ornament comes with a vent to hook it up to an air filter. However, you will have to provide an airstone (as well as the air line and air pump, of course), because there is no airstone connected to the air vent. Overall, I'm thrilled with this piece and I'm glad it was available here, because I haven't seen it in any stores at all.

Buy Exotic Environments Ancient Stone Head Ruin Aquarium Ornament Now

I really like this. It very realistic and looked perfect when my plants started filling in around it. I attached an air hose and with a small, slow bubble flow it attracts compliments from all my visitors. The only caveat I have is that when cleaning I bumped the nose and a small patch of the outer skin came off, revealing the plastic underneath. Right on the nose! But it didn't look too bad so I left it and it now has a light dusting of algae which is covering the 'blemish' on her nose, making it look even more like old stone. I'm not sure whether I was too rough or it's a fault in manufacturing but other reviewers seem to appreciate the high quality of it's construction and otherwise it been fine.

biOrb Airstone - 1 Pack

biOrb Airstone - 1 PackI bought this stone thinking it was something special just for my Biorb here. While I was waiting my 7 days to get the stone I got impatient and bought a 2 pack of detachable airstones at the local petco for a little over $2 and they worked exactly the same.

Tetra EasyBalance w/Nitraban, 3-3/8-Ounce, 100 ml

Tetra EasyBalance w/Nitraban, 3-3/8-Ounce, 100 mlThis is an excellent additive for freshwater aquariums. It keeps PH at 7.0, reduces Nitrates that can usually only be removed via water changes, and removes phosphate which encourages algae growth. It also produces CO2 which is helpful for the growth of aquatic plants. However it is important that you have proper water aeration when using this chemical additive because of these CO2 producing properties. Another major thing is that this product does NOT remove chlorine or chloramines from water when performing water changes. Also it is important to note that by using this product it does not excuse you from not having to perform water changes. You still should change 15-20% of the water in the tank every 2-3 weeks depending on how many fish are stocked in the tank relative to its size.

From Tetra's Site:

Easy Balance® Detailed Description of Individual Product Features

Carbonate Hardness Additive The appropriate amount of carbonate hardness is added to the aquarium water compensating for KH losses, which occur as a result of nitrification.

pH Stabilization Stabilizes the pH value on a sufficiently high level, preventing a drop to biologically harmful levels (pH crash) and produces a certain amount of CO2 preventing excessive pH values.

Phosphate Removing Effect In a standard aquarium (30gal) the phosphate concentration is reduced to zero during most of the 6-month period.

New Feature: Nitrate Reduction with Nitraban(tm) Serves as a nutrient for denitrifying bacteria that consume the oxygen releasing nitrogen from the aquarium. On average the nitrate concentration will drop below 40mg/l.

Other Features Include Production of Carbon Dioxide, the addition of trace elements and a replenishment of vitamin B

This product will cloud the water for a few hours after it is introduced to the tank water. This cloudiness should disappear quickly as long as you have good water filtration and movement. And again make sure you have good water aeration like air stones in the tank as this could cause the fish to not get enough oxygen.

I have a 10 gallon fish tank with 2 sharks and an angel fish and used to buy this from the pet store but it was much cheaper here! works just as good and am not having any problems

Buy Tetra EasyBalance w/Nitraban, 3-3/8-Ounce, 100 ml Now

I've used this before, and am getting more, have had fish for YEARS. Someone went on and on about people needing things so fish must need things... using distilled water, etc. HUH? Unless you have discus or something this info is rediculous! Tap water needs conditioning for fish, or let the water sit several days for chlorines to dissipate.Personally,I use much of the water from my pond where the fish spend their summers, but I also keep conditioners and other products on hand. This one works as well as more expensive ones. But enough with the distilled water and coffeepots for pete's sake!

Read Best Reviews of Tetra EasyBalance w/Nitraban, 3-3/8-Ounce, 100 ml Here

I'm not entirely sure what happened or what I did wrong with this product...I used it the exact same way in three nearly identical tanks, and got three completely different results. The first tank it actually did what it said on the tin, the second it did NOTHING, and in the third, it clouded over and killed my fish!

I'm still relatively new to fishkeeping, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't my doing (or at least, certainly not ALL my doing). Be extremely careful when using this product. I'm not even sure that proper aeration (or the lack thereof) is what caused the problem, as each tank had pretty much the same amount of airflow and breathing room at the top.

Want Tetra EasyBalance w/Nitraban, 3-3/8-Ounce, 100 ml Discount?

TETRA EASY BALANCE, WITH NITRABAN, (in it's 8 ounce size), is supposed to make 500 gallons of water safe for tropical

fish making it VERY economical! And it IS a necessity for fish.

Tropical fish, you see, cannot take the chemicals put into water

that we humans can. Or at least, it effects them in a negative

way more quickly. I mean, all those chemicals CAN'T be good for

humans, either -that's why I use home-made distilled water for

coffee, tea, and other (human) beverages I make at home. Distilled

water is good for fish as well -but, along with the chemicals

left at the bottom of the distilling jar, (with the water that is

thrown away), are also the minerals that come in water! I can

buy mineral supplements for me -but I don't think there are any

mineral supplements for fish! Anyway, often I use regular tap

water + a water conditioner/ "safe-maker" for my little Betta fish,

and sometimes I use distilled water with the water-conditioner...

distilled water STILL has benefits, I think.

Anyway, the water-conditiner here is supposed to be for ALL fish.

My Betta fish did not take adversely to it at all -and the

lady I called up from the TETRA company said she gives it to her

Betta fish with no ill effects, (either?). However, at a pet store,

I saw they had both their own brand of fish water conditioner, and

a smaller bottle of fish water conditioner made specifically for

Betta fish. On my last visit to the pet store, I asked them what

the difference was. They said the Betta fish need the special

conditiner because they are more delicate than other fish. How-

ever, I saw no difference when I used their special Betta water

conditoner, and the TETRA water conditioner for all fish. Maybe

their brand of water conditioner for all fish is less gentle than

the Tetra all-purpose water conditioner. I don't know. I havn't

tried their brand, as yet.

The Tetra Easy Balance, (all-fish), water conditioner must be shaken

before use. This is the most trifling of inconveniences -I think

ALL water conditioners, and other liquids, (for humans and for pets),

should be shaken -unless the label says otherwise. Couldn't hurt,

I don't think. However, the Tetra Easy Balance Water Conditioner is

a LOT THICKER than the special Betta water conditioner I got at the

pet store. This may mean only a little must be used -but it's SO

thick, I found some that had inadvertently dripped out had, after

a while, dried and solidified near the bottle opening! It was easy

to brush away -but rather shocking to find it there.

In sum, my little Betta fish, (named "Pink"), liked the Tetra Easy

Balance water-conditioner just as much as the special Betta water

conditioner from the pet store. Sometimes, before I put the water

conditioner in, she'd just be kind of sluggish around the top of

her fish-bowl. After putting the Tetra-water conditioner in, she'd

become active and playful! It really does make a difference!

It isn't written on the Tetra bottle -but on the Betta fish conditioner from the pet-store, it mentions that it works better when mixed with the water before puting the fish in. This makes sense, I think. Fully diluted water / conditioner is, for fish, like already

-stirred coffee for humans!

So, I'll end my review here with a few "words" from my little Betta fish, Pink.

............Pink says: "I LIKE WHAT IT DOES FOR THE WATER, AND I.....

............ENJOY SWIMMING IN IT!"....................................

You can't get a better recommendation than that! }}}}===(o>

Aqueon Water Clarifier

Aqueon 06013 Water Clarifier, 8-OunceThe best product that there is for clearing up cloudy water in an aquarium...hands down!! I always keep a supply of it.

this product cleared up my 37 gallon tank in 6 hours. I read somewhere, that you had to wash play sand before putting it in your aquarium. what i didn't understand was that you had to wash it 10x, not just once. For 3 days, i left the filter on hoping it would suck up anything that wouldn't settle to the bottom itself. There was no change.

After a few hours letting this product do it's thing, about half the bottle and 6 hrs later, my tank was clear. All i need now is to get off my lazy butt and do a good gravel cleaning.

Red Sea Reef Foundation Test Kit - Calcium, Alkalinity & Magnesium

Red Sea Reef Foundation Test Kit - Calcium, Alkalinity & MagnesiumFirst off very fast shipping. This is a very good product, this kit has 3 different test with 3 different syringes. The tips of the syringes are color coded and the only mention of the different colors are on the cards when you look at the illustrations, and even then you better have good eyes to see them. And the markings on the syringes are different, so if you use the wrong one, your results will be off. Over all a nice kit, much better packaged and quality than Salifert which I use to use.

I have tried several other manufacturer's kits and I have found this one to be the easiest and best to use.

Before this I was using a Salifert Kit and was getting results that were often hard to read. If you do these tests properly and keep adding the titration drops until you get a full color change that will not change any further then you will get accurate results.

I really like the handheld titration unit which makes it much easier to accurately does single drops will mixing.

Comes with a nice hard case as well as ultra clear glass vials. I really believe it's the best kit out there for the money.

Two Little Fishies ATLMSPD4 Marine Snow, 16-Ounce

Two Little Fishies ATLMSPD4 Marine Snow, 16-OunceDoes what its intended to do. Fish and coral love this product and can't wait to get more and more.

I have been using this for 3 months 2 times per week. My tank is stocked with LPS, SPS, Zoa's, Paly's and many other corals. I feed blender mush, cyclopeeze, brine and general fish food. I do turkey baste this stuff direct to my lps and sps along with some vitamin supplements. My LFS is positive about its use although they say it is in a "bottle" and you do need to keep it cold which I understand isnt a substitute for "real live" organisms. One 16 ounce bottle lasts me about 2 months which bothers me a bit since 2 months plus whatever amount of time it was on the shelf might have a negative effect on whatever is in this stuff.

Not sure what to say exacly about this product. I have had coral for a while now and I was using other (cheaper) foods. I use this along with other foods to provide a variety for the different coral. Since using this product I have noticed deeper more vibrant colors. But I also use a couple of other things so I can't credit 100% of that to this product. It's not good to feed your coral the same thing every time. This item says to be refrigerated unlike some of the compeditors stuff. But I find that refrigerating it helps me count the drips much better so I don't overfeed the tank.

Poly Bio Marine Products APM1212 Poly-Bio-Marine Poly Sheet Filter Pads for Aquarium, 12 by 12-Inch

Poly Bio Marine Products APM1212 Poly-Bio-Marine Poly Sheet Filter Pads for Aquarium, 12 by 12-InchThis is miracle stuff!

I've used it for years and have completely stopped 'searching' for anything else and even moreso have stopped 'TRYING' anything else.

This stuff cleans, clears, de-yellows, de-greens, and even helps alleviate certain disease issues before (and even after) they've started. I've found this much less stressful on the fish when dealing with a 'dirty or diseased or medicated' fish tank. Changing the water (especially after meds) can sometimes create such a harmful blow on the fish... whereas this is so much more gentle on the fish; thus allowing a water change after-the-fact without the incredible stress or damage to delicate fish. Even if you're in need of adding meds, I've found this a fabulous 'pre-intervention' -why, because many times this need only occurs due to lack of proper maintenance of the tank. By alleviating the 'nasties' before a small water change + adding meds; I personally have found this a lifesaver when it comes to those fish in 'not-to-happy' condition. I've seen many die, but I've seen less die when using this in combination of meds and H2O changes. Obviously, you're call.... but if you're looking for a helpful moment in time --this be it!!!

Additionally, should one have issues with water quality, even after changing the water -this will absolutely fix it!!! I still recommend however to start with this first (you'd be amazed at what clarity can occur while at work for even only 8 hours).

If you have never used this stuff, I promise you, this WILL produce miracles beyond any fishkeepers expectations.

Your fish will thank you!!! You will thank you!!

This stuff is the 'bee's knees',

it's the 'holy grail',

it be the ying to any fish's yang!!

You will never be sorry you purchased it,

It's worth every penny!

... that is, as long as the deals here don't suddenly change.

If so, as always, we the people shall figure out what it's made out of and then just wholesale penny it from an alt manufacturer.

AND, this IS a DEAL! has always strived to be one of the best priced places online... and here, they found their niche even moreso! I buy from them regularly, and shall continue. They 'quick ship', they honor their prices, and are happy to fix any faux pas.

You just can't go wrong with:

1) this gift from 'the gods', and

2) buying anything from

I swear by this product and have yet to find anything else in 9 years of fishkeeping that even comes close to the miracle of this product.

.... yes Virginia there is a Santa Fish somewhere out there and his name is PolyFilter!!!

For those that want to keep their aquariums in the best condition possible, these absorb waste very well. I keep them in the filters 75% of the time, alternating occasionally with standard poly pads for particle removal.

AquaClear Power Filter (UL Listed)

AquaClear 110 Aquarium Power Filter - for 60 to 110 GallonUnlike other filters that force you to spend money on new filters pads every two weeks, spending a lot on money you didn't think you would have to, this filter does not require replacement filter pads. Instead, it has a block of foam that is used to trap the dirt in the water. Every two weeks, simple clean the foam in water by squeezing it a few times! Just do it in your water changing bucket with de-chlorinated water.

You can change the carbon filter whenever you choose to. In fact, it is not needed all that much. I have run my tanks without carbon for a month at a time, no big deal. If the water starts to look yellow or brown, it is time to change it and put in some fresh carbon.

I bought my AquaClear 30 in early July. It was definitely quieter than the previous filter and seemed to do a better job keeping the tank clear. I've had it long enough to have cleaned it and, as filter cleaning goes, I find this design very user friendly. Then, yesterday, we had a power bounce and the filter didn't come back. After eliminating the outlet as a problem, I noticed the bottom of the unit was very warm. I unplugged it, let it cool, plugged it back in. Nothing. Today, I went to my nearest PetCo for a new filter. The filter is under warranty but I needed something for the fish today. Upon learning which filter I had, then gentleman helping me said that these filters almost never die and his is about 14 years old. He showed me how to remove the propeller box and clean it out. He told me that sometimes debris settles during a power failure and the propeller can't turn when the power comes back. He was right. I got home, took 2 minutes to clean the propeller, and we're back in business. No need for a new filter after all! I'm feeling really good about my choice of filter. Easy to maintain (once you know what you're doing) and works well!

There is so much to say about this filter, it's hard to know where to start.

I bought this filter to replace a very ineffective Marineland Pengiun HOB filter. I have a 20 gallon tank, but have a heavy bioload due to a dozen or so fish being born in our tank (thank you Petsmart). The issues we ran into with the Penguin filter were many (see my review), so I looked for a more powerful and configurable filter. The Aquaclear 70 fit the bill.

The housing has plastic walls that I think are a bit thin. I feel the need to be very careful with it when I take it apart and put it back together. That's about the only critical thing I have to say about this filter. It has a dial on the back to help keep the filter level. The impeller and motor can be easily replaced with a simple twist.

You get two intakes with this unit, so you can have it at mid-level, or extend it to get closer to the bottom. The intake swivels a bit, which causes a reduction in the water intake. This is a very useful feature, as it recycles some of the water already in the filter to mix with the water from the intake to give you extra clean water, just at a slower rate. This also comes in handy when you want to reduce the water disturbance for feeding.

The filter media included with the unit is exceptional. You get a filter sponge that catches the debris, a carbon "sock" to catch the very fine particles and chemicals, and "bio max" which is just a media to keep beneficial bacteria. The sponge can be rinsed and reused to your heart's content. It's very sturdy and seems to be effective. The carbon "sock" is huge! Although there is some debate among aquarists if you need continual carbon filtration or not, you certainly can get a lot of chemical filtration should you so desire. The last media, "Bio Max", is rough surfaced cylinders meant to capture bacteria to help keep your tank clean. This is very helpful since, if you were to replace your sponge and carbon, the beneficial bacteria would still reside in the "Bio Max".

Now the true beauty isn't with what you get (which, again, is great), it's what you can CHOOSE to do. The filter housing is very simple, and you can put in most any filter media you want. You can cut filter fabric to size, remove the carbon and add another sponge, or use a different biological filtration method. This, I feel, is key to running a clean tank. If I were to treat the tank with a chemical, I can simply remove the carbon and leave the other filter media in place. This wasn't possible with the Penguin and wound up being a serious problem.

Another great aspect of the filter media is the price. Seeing as how you don't need to replace the sponge or biological media, you just have to replace the carbon "sock". With that, you can buy a replacement for this specific model filter, or you can create your own by buying a filter sock and carton of activated carbon.

We've been running the filter for months without issue... Ok, somehow our Otocinclus got into the filter. Luckily, I found him and got him back into the tank. He must have been watching when we had Finding Nemo on the TV. Maybe an intake with thinner grates would be something to explore.

One thing I would caution against is Hagen's return procedure. I had picked up one of these from Petsmart and it was defective (I'm almost certain it was used and Petsmart put it back on the shelves). Hagen said that if I want to return it to them, I would have to pay for all of the shipping. Luckily, Petsmart exchanged it without issue.

I highly suggest this filter and hope it will work out as well for you as it has for me.

Hi..if you are reading this and looking for a new or replacement filter, AquaClears are great. My 70 (300) is extremely quiet and my aquarium is crystal clear. Even though the filter comes with sponge, carbon and BioMax, you can set it up which ever way you want. The sponges can be washed in aquarium water to save a few dollars and maintain your biological filter. Cleans easily. The old number represented the gallons per hour. The new number represents the maximum size aquarium. Good luck.

The Aquaclear power filters are the best in the market. These filters provide a HUGE surface area for an efficient biological treatment of the aquarium water. I own four of these filters and have been running continuously for more than three years! They are extremely quiet. I have experienced only two problems with these filters. First, the filters drain into the aquarium during power outages and will not restart on their own. Second, if not cleaned frequently the foam blocks will be pushed upwards and displace the cover. Overall, these are great filters and I would not replace them for another power filter.

EHEIM Fine Filter Pad (White) for Classic External Filter 2211 (3 Pieces)

EHEIM Fine Filter Pad for Classic External Filter 2211amazon sent me filter pads for a much larger canister filter, i'm not sure which model, but they were the size of dinner plates. thenmuch to my chagrin, they did not allow me to return for a refund. i would rate this zero stars if i couldextremely disappointed in their service and support, and i'm a prime customer who spends quite a bit.

hopefully this doesn't happen to the next person, but buyer beware. if amazon messes up, you're stuck with what they send you.

Ive tried a lot of filters. The easy flow are simple and easy to change but my water was always cloudy.

The Eheim filter may be very well the only filter canister I will ever own.

Filter collects all the yucky sludge of your aquarium to help keep the water clear and sparkling.

The one down side is the cost. I think they are a bit expensive for about 3.75 a pad which bought in packs of 3 .... So I buy whenever I see a sale. Can't have too many in stock

Tropical WafersBought these mainly for my catfish, but we have a goldfish community tank as well and they go crazy for these! They pounce on it immediately and nibble away until it's gone. Good food and makes for an active fish tank show.

API Stress Coat Water Conditioner, 1-Gallon

API Stress Coat Water Conditioner, 1-GallonThis conditoner is the best ever. The aqarium remains clean and the fish thrive. I made the mistake of buying STRESS COAT+. Notice the +, this is because it includes an ammonia remover that through my aquarium off balance. I have mostly freshwater tetras and catfish. I found them gasping for air and soon developed small amounts of red algae. Keep in mind, I have maintained the aqaurium the same way with the same products for years. The ammonia remover must contain a phosphate that also removes the CO2 and oxygen from the water. This causes many fish to die and the red algae growth.

yes, it's an added expense, but stress coat is very nice to have on hand for anytime you have a less than perfect situation in your tank; adding new fish, setting up a new tank, cleaning the old one or maybe the water quality got a tad bit too dirty before you changed it, or maybe your fish got sick/ stress coat just helps to ease the stress on the fish. be nice to your fish, use tress coat.

I've been using this product for both my pond fish and aquarium fish on a regular basis. Doing partial water changes seems to be less stressful for the fish when using this product. But then, of course, I'm not a fish, so I am just guessing.

At least, I've never had a problem with partial or complete water changes or topping off either the aquarium or the pond due to evaporation. It helps with their slime coat and after using it, I do water tests for ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, etc., and the chlorine always shows negative. I buy this stuff by the gallon as it's much cheaper that way.

It's also recommended for use after handling or netting the fish or for any stressful situations. So far, all of our fish are doing great and growing like weeds.

I plan to continue to use it.

Purchased this one gallon API Stress Coat Water Conditioner as I was doing frequent water changes & got tired of buying the 16 oz size. Running a 75 gallon tank with a Fluvial 405 & Aqueon 55/75 filters. The tank houses 3 Oscars grown to 11-12 inches each, a 14 inch Pleco, smaller spotted catfish & a 6 inch Jack Dempsey cichlid. These guys (mostly the Oscars) make a lot of mess & the water was getting very cloudy to the point of not being able to see anything in the tank. Bought a 9 watt UV filter to fix that but still need lits of stress coat / water conditioner for the water changes.

Lee's 6-Inch Slim Jr. Ultra Gravel Vacuum Cleaner, Self-Start

Lee's 6-Inch Slim Jr. Ultra Gravel Vacuum Cleaner, Self-StartI didn't realize they made vacuums this small, and it works. It doesn't siphon too quickly, so you can swish the gravel around to suck up the stuff settled at the bottom.

It self starts as long as the tank is full (mine's a 3 gallon). If you stop after about a gallon it doesn't tend to start back up.I use it once a monce when I'm going to swap out some of the water anyway.

If you have a 10 gal or smaller tank you need this. No reason to spend any more money. It's also great for draining the tank for a water change.

Great vacuum for small tanks, I have a 2.5 gallon and it works perfectly. Doesn't have a self starting pump, but is easy to start up anyway.

If you follow the instructions, this thing will work very quickly. I remember wrangling with gravel vacs as a kid, but this starts fairly easily every time. Just make sure the length of the vacuum tube is right for your tank mine is about the same length, so it's a little more difficult to start that it would be if there was ample room for the tube inside the tank.

Got this for a small tank (1.5 gallons). It worked very well and helped get the junk out of the gravel. It was easy to get the water flowing, just follow the directions.
