Deep Blue Nitrate Remover Pad 18X10

Deep Blue Nitrate Remover Pad 18X10I purchased this Deep Blue Pad a week ago and it has been running in my filter for 5 days. I didn't need to use the entire pad. I only used 1/2 of it. When I started the NO3 was at 200ppm. After 48 hours the nitrate level in the 125 gallon tank dropped to 160ppm. Another 48 hours and the nitrate was at 80ppm and today the tank is down to 40ppm. And most likely the lowest it's been in 2 years. This product works and reduces high levels of nitrate. I would recommend it to anyone.

This product sounded too good to be true. I cut pieces for both freshwater and reef tanks. After a week, the water chemistry remained unchanged. All the pad succeeded at was working as a mechanical filter.

This stuff really works. Keep in mind that overfeeding was really a problem. Water changes are still necessary, but my nitrates are acceptable for 2 months now.

This product really works. Don't expect overnight success. Nitrate removal is a slow process and takes time. The nitrate level in our aquarium was off the charts (above 150 ppm) and the water quite cloudy. I cut the pad to size and added it to the filter. After two days no noticeable difference. On the fourth day, the water started to clear. One week later crystal clear and the nitrate level was near zero.

Promptly arrived in new condition. I cut it to size to supplement an Aqueon filter cartridge in a tropical tank, as recommended to reduce nitrate level by a aquarium shop owner. Generally, the 10% water exchange, and filter changes bimonthly does reduce the nitrate level.
