My 5 lb. five month old puppy loves it because he can look out the window both in our house and in the car. He uses it as a bed in the house as well. I am ordering another one so that we can leave it in one of our cars. We got him used to it by leaving it in the house next to the window before we used it in the car. He took to it right away in the car because he was used to it in the house. It is obviously not as safe as a child's seat, but it is much safer for everyone rather than just having him "loose" in the car.

The Lookout I puts my daughter's Mini Schnauzer high enough to see out and also provides plenty of room for him to settle down on long trips and sleep.
